There are many tour operators to chose from but these guys are the best! They were super organised, their team of porters, cooks and guides were compassionate, professional and knowledgeable and they made the whole experience unforgettable. We summited on the 10th October and they were critical in our succes - they are all absolute legends (shout out to Charles and Zach, our guides) and the best in the business.

I did the 6 day Marangu hike and it was very well organized. Zanzi reaponded to my questions very quickly and provided a useful packing list. My guide, Chaz, and group met me promptly at the airport despite a delay and did a fantastic job leading us up the mountain. We completed the 6‑day Machame Route and the entire experience was unforgettable thanks to an exceptional crew. Charles, our head guide, was second to none — calm, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. He led with confidence and clarity, giving us daily briefings that covered terrain, clothing, and the plan ahead, while making sure every detail was thought through. Issac, our assistant guide, was equally impressive, attentive to our needs, and always ready with support and encouragement. Together they made us feel safe, prepared, and motivated throughout the climb. Peter (Kiberiti), our waiter, added warmth and energy to the journey. After long days on the mountain, he made every meal feel like a moment of comfort, and the food was consistently plentiful and well prepared. The porters were the backbone of the expedition — working tirelessly to carry gear, set up camp, and keep everything running smoothly. Their dedication and effort were inspiring, and they made the climb possible. Climbing Kilimanjaro is a huge challenge, but with Charles, Issac, Peter, and the porters, it became an extraordinary adventure. This was the best team we could have asked for, and we cannot recommend them highly enough. They turned a demanding expedition into the trip of a lifetime.

Myself and three friends completed a 6-day Kilimanjaro climb in September and I can confidently say we would not have managed it without the supportive and hard working team from Zanzi. Our lead guide was Charles and assistant guide Isaac and they were both absolutely fantastic. Both were extremely experienced guides with over 200 Kili climbs completed each and alongside the jokes and fun, they were clear and definite with their leadership of the trip, which helped us feel both safe and supported. Before starting the climb I felt some trepidation about the potential health risks associated with attempting Kilimanjaro, however the regular health checks and O2 saturation measurements at both breakfast and lunch every day reassured me and made me feel safe. To anyone who is considering attempting a Kilimanjaro climb, I would unreservedly recommend Zanzi, and specifically Charles and Isaac and their support team of extremely hard working porters.

From the moment we started out ascent, Isack demonstrated exceptional professionalism and deep understanding of the mountain. In addition, he introduced the plants, animals and the views in details on the way to peak. When Isack led us singing and dancing to celebrate our successful summit at the 4600-meter base camp, I felt that every single step was worth it.

We had an amazing time with the Zanzi family on the Kilimanjaro. Issack, our main guide, assisted by Jumanne, did such a great job by getting us to the summit! Along the route we talked, laughed, sang and smiled, but most importantly, they made sure we got there safe and happy, especially during the summit day. Twice a day we got checked on heart rate, oxygen level and how we felt. During the checkup, we discussed the upcoming day. Issack and Jumanne encouraged us, were always supportive and positive, hakuna matata! We were planning on doing the Machame route in 7 days, but because everything went well, we decided together to do it in 6 days. That was a really good choice and shows that the team was willing to help and do what was best for us. The rest of the crew was amazing too. We have so much respect for the porters, all so friendly and helpful, we came nothing short. From good food, to a prepared tent, conversations about football and all the Swahili words they taught us. The communication before hand was good and clear, we would definitely recommend Zanzi Trekking. Asante sana!

It is one of my best experiences. I went for the 5 days one but I recommend the 6 day one to allow for downtime. March is off season, so has the lowest fees.

The trip is amazing. The guides George, Omari and Charles are constantly looking out for us every step of the way, making sure we are healthy, safe and having fun. The cook Basili was amazing, the food we received far exceeded our expectations and was incredibly healthy. The porters work so hard and everyone was willing to improvise when our group had to split up due to illness. There is a high tip expectation but boy they earn it.

I had an amazing Kilimanjaro climb with Zanzi! They organized a perfect trip for us on short notice. The hike was led by two very experienced and knowledgeable guides, Justin and Nestory, who supported us every step of the way. They not only helped us complete the hike successfully but also taught us a lot about the mountain’s surroundings, Tanzanian culture, and many other interesting topics we discussed along the way. Their enthusiasm and encouragement played a huge role in helping us reach the summit. Last but not least, the rest of the team also played a key part in making our dream of reaching the summit come true. The team included our talented chef, Dastam, who prepared delicious meals throughout the six days; Lazaro, who assisted during mealtimes, woke us up each morning, and always brought great energy; and Shaibu, who helped us stay warm and motivated on summit day. Of course, we also had amazing support from Peter, Brian, Haji, and Daniel, who helped us navigate between camps and ensured we always had the best possible conditions to rest and recover.

While many believe a large budget is necessary to enjoy this country, the true differentiator is the people, and Zanzi Trekkings and Safaris has an outstanding staff. We took the 6 day Lemosho route which was arranged at a very short notice by the team from Zanzi Trekking and Safaris. One dream, one team to the Roof of Africa was truly an unforgettable experience. Right from the meal on the first day to the final goodbyes, the days went really fast. Justin and Nestor, our guides were always there helping us learn more about the culture, tradition and background of the country. The chef Dastan made sure we had nutritious food everyday, every meal before our walks. Lazaro, Omolo, Peter, Haji, Brian, Dani, our porters made sure that we had a smooth experience while we started and finished our daily walks. The summit day was especially challenging for me given the weather, timing and climate. Justin and Omolo pushed me and made sure that I could reach the summit. It was truly an overwhelming experience that the team of guides, chef and porters were working really hard for our experience of climbing Kilimanjaro. It was almost like a family at the end of the hike. Wished we could hike more days with this lovely team!

Overall my experience was great and the hike was incredible. There were few things which I would appreciate that they would be communicated with me beforehand. When I booked the tour I thought that I might be joining the group or they communicate with another agencies to put me together with group. On the arrival I find out that I am hiking alone. Also female guide was promised to me and at the airport I found out that my guide is male. These little details made me bit worried and I wished it would be communicated with me prior the tour. Also another groups had toilet tent and another add ons. It would be good to have this information and options before as I had no clue. Now to the hike itself, my experience was incredible. The team of 7 people were supporting me. Due to the fact that I am experienced hiker and I was hiking alone we did the tour in 6 days instead of 7 days. The food was delicious and the whole crew always tried to help me and fulfill my wishes. Without my guide George I would probably not make it to the top as he was motivating me and pushing me to reach the summit. Everyone was incredibly friendly and nice to me and I was more than happy with my experience and trekking in beautiful Kilimanjaro National Park ❤️.

We climbed Kilimanjaro with my friend via the 6-day Lemosho route, and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives. We reached the summit on September 20, and everything — from the organization to the team’s support — made this journey truly special. Our main guide Zacharia was exceptional. He constantly shared interesting explanations about the mountain, plants, its history, ... He did everything possible to ensure we succeeded, always motivating us with a smile and great professionalism. Thanks to him, the whole climb felt safe, enjoyable, and inspiring. During the final night to the summit, we were also joined by “Piano Piano”, one of the porters, who carried hot tea and was here just in case. His presence and kindness were truly reassuring. We did the 6-day Machame route and it was truly an unforgettable experience. A huge thank you to our amazing guides, Omary and Jumanne, who made the journey to the summit absolutely perfect. I had great time with Zanzi, I chose budget package and did 6 day trek to Kilimanjaro with guide as Omarr. He was incredible, simply amazing, so supportive and thanks to Omarr I made it to top of Kili even after having altitude sickness. Then it was 5 days Safari, it was clubbed with people, it was great time except Leopard, I sighted all animals. And then 3 days Zanzibar island which was unique and relaxing. Honest, Restituta and Kennedy were always there giving update for next day schedule/pickup/ drop, which went good. Thanks for amazing experience 😍

It was great experience, everything was well organised. I recommed climbing Kilimandzaro with Zanzi. We did Marangu 5 days, so summit day was tough. Ideally to take at least 6-7 days tour for better acclimatisation.

My husband and I did the six day lemosho budget, and it was amazing! Truly one of the most challenging things we have done but our guides helped us so much. Omari and Lazaro made sure we were safe, doing everything correctly as well as being successful and positive. They basically coached us and prepared us for the summit day and we had a very successful summit. Our health and well being was always their first priority. We felt very proud and accomplished because of their help. They did everything from reminding us to eat and drink when we didn’t want to (but needed to)- to carrying my backpack because I was so exhausted. They were kind, supportive, and very helpful. They went out of their way to make it great, Omari took pictures/videos for us the whole hike, and Lazaro made sure we were always going “pole pole” slowly slowly. we are so thankful now to have all those memories captured on camera and to have learned the meaning of slow and steady. They’re both very experienced and we would highly recommend requesting Omari or Lazaro!! The rest of the crew was very amazing as well. the porters, cook, and waiter. They didn’t let us lift a finger, and they were there cheering us on the whole time. We had an amazing experience with Zanzi trekking and safaris!!! Ps, lemosho route is BEAUTIFUL- dress warm.

Excellent team and guides. They did everything to get us to the summit. Without their professional help and knowledge I would not be able to reach Uhuru Peak. If I were to do it again, definitely would choose the same team.

The whole team was engaged and supportive. The guides, the porters the chef and supporting guys were great. The team lead Chad and Freddy took very good care of us and without them we most probably wouldn’t make it to the summit. At the very finish on our way to the summit of Kili, they ensured our safety and that we managed to reach our dream.

We went climbing Kilimanjaro on the 7-day Lemosho route with Zanzi Trekking and had a successful climb to the summit. We were happy to find that Zanzi Trekking had a budget option which allowed us to save a decent amount of money compared to other companies we looked at, while at the same time including all the necessary elements for a comfortable Kili climb. Even though we booked the trip last minute, there was no issue. Booking was easy: we made an international bank transfer and they confirmed the trip upon seeing the proof of payment. Zanzi Trekking were flexible and fast at responding. As a bonus, they threw in a couple of sleeping mats at no charge – thank you! Justin, our main guide, was very friendly and attentive to our needs. It was clear he had our best interest at heart and wanted us to have a good experience. We were also accompanied by Lazaro, our assistant guide, a true Kilimanjaro legend who had been climbing the mountain since 1981. Together they made a very good team. Justin was great at telling stories about his many years climbing Kili and very knowledgeable about the mountain. Lazaro had an infectious positive attitude and showed great patience with us when we needed time to rest, put on an extra layer of clothes, or take pictures. Our cook, Dastan, made some hearty and tasty dishes to keep our energy levels high during the climb. He also made sure we had something fresh (fruit/vegetables) at every meal - even on the last days on the mountain. Our porters, Kelvin, Pius, Elimokozi, Dominik, Mathew and Shedi (Shedrak), did their absolute best to keep our stuff dry even when pitching the tent in the rain. They seemed to always be in a good mood. All in all, we had a great experience climbing Kilimanjaro with Zanzi Trekking.

I spent 6 days trekking the mountain with guide Justin as well as porters and a cook. I can only say that it was an amazing experience that was only made possible due to the zanzi team. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Justin was able to provide careful medical attention when needed and would always inform me about interesting facts about the mountain and its surroundings. Although my appetite wasn‘t the best due to the altitude, the food provided was very good. I can only recommend the Zanzi team for the trip and wish them all the best!

We just finished 7days Lemosho Trekking tour with Zanzi trekking team. It was overwhelmingly goooodd! More than Perfect!! Our guide Justin is the best guide you could ever imagine. He is very patient, attentive, experienced and knowledgeable. Everything we thought about or never think about trekking, he is always ready for us. He took very good care of us. Everyday plan and preparation are always well explained. He can answer all questions that we had about the nature, the mountain and the country. Climbing with Alex, the team and the company is the wisest decision I made for my tour of Africa.Without their help, I think my dream could not come true so fast. I lack of exercise and I always think I am a weak girl.But my guide Alex never gives up me and continuously encourages me, then we made it to the peak. Every friends including me couldn’t believe it! I think the reason is mainly Alex. He is such more professional than the other guides I met along the way, he will assess your capabilities and choose the way most suitable to you including using his 17 years climbing experience to smoothly go through the mountain, finding a comfortable poly poly pace you need to catch up but you don’t need to rush, ensuring your safety when it’s slippery or steep, assessing your body all the time, knowing where you are exactly every time you want to know, checking your blood oxygen level every morning and night, giving helpful medicine and cloth advice and renewing your climbing plan based on your performance. And he is so caring to make sure you eat enough and help you take your day pack when you feel exhausted.Besides, he could speak fluent English and Chinese. You could fully trust him and he will help you as much as he can. I couldn’t believe the other guides could provide more than him. And the chief Eric will ask your preference before climbing and prepare everything . Everyday the meal is delicious even till the last day. I enjoy it and I ate a lot under the condition that I have a Chinese stomach. You will have hot tea or ginger water when you want or feel sick. And have popcorn as snacks. And every morning Jonny will wake me up gently and have already prepared a cup of hot tea which is really helpful! And he is so warmhearted to meet your needs. The whole team is so supportive. On the summit day, hot water is still provided along the way. After I reach the peak, I was descending to the campsite. On the half way, I saw they have already arrived there to congratulate me! I feel so warm after one night’s climbing. And the company is also very supportive. Alone the whole 7 days, Honest continues trying to contact me to make sure i feel great and have no worries. The whole process is so fantastic and I treat the whole team as my family. I 101% recommend the team to all kinds of people who want to climb Mount Kilimanjaro no matter you are good at climbing or you never climb before and have no confidence, no matter you travel with your friends or alone like me, no matter you want to climb to the peak or just appreciate the view along the way, no matter you are budgeted (worth every penny )or want some luxury! I had a great experience with Zanzi Trekking. The organization of my 6 day Kilimanjaro Trek was very good. Gorge was a great guide and the team was really good too. It was the most strenuous thing I have ever done, but the team supported me great and together we made it to the summit.
