We did a private six days camping safari starting in Arusha. Our tour was personalised, so we have been in Arusha NP, Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro national park. Wilfred our contact person made a wonderful job. He organised everything we wanted, answered all our questions and was accessible whenever we needed him. He also came to welcome us on our first day and also came to talk about the safari and saying goodbye on our last day. During the safari we have been with our tourguide Ombeni and our chef Salim. Ombeni did a wonderful job. He managed to show us the big five and a lot of other animals. He made us feel welcome the whole trip and was always around and asked if everything is good. Salim our chef served us our delicious food during the safari. We never felt hungry during the trip and enjoyed every meal. A big thanks to the whole team for making this dream come true! 😍🐾

We had an unforgettable safari experience with Meru Slopes Tours! A huge thank you to Leonard for perfectly organising our adventure, to Robert, our driver-guide, for his kindness, professionalism and knowledge, and to Gady, our chef, for preparing delicious meals throughout our journey. Thanks to them, we discovered the wonders of Tanzania in the best possible conditions. The whole team took great care of us from beginning to end, making this experience even more special. We highly recommend Meru Slopes Tours to anyone looking for an unforgettable safari in Tanzania! Asante sana to the whole team, and hopefully see you again for another adventure!
We had an absolutely amazing safari experience! A huge thank you to Kelvin for organizing everything so smoothly and professionally, and especially to Ombeni, our guide, who made the entire adventure truly unforgettable. Ombeni was knowledgeable, passionate, and incredibly skilled at spotting wildlife. His expertise and enthusiasm made every game drive exciting, and he went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible experience. I would highly recommend Meru Slopes to anyone planning a safari in Tanzania. Thank you, Ombeni and Kelvin, for creating memories that will last a lifetime! 🐘🦒🦁
We had an amazing and unforgettable safari! Ombeni and Kelvin from Meru Slopes Agency were great guides, very knowledgeable and attentive. They took us to the best places to see all the animals we wanted to see and made sure we had a wonderful experience. We highly recommend them!
Company is great, well organized, the communication with the agent Leonard from the start was very good and professional, very responsive any time and friendly. The Safari was awesome! Petric the guide was so experienced and nice, helpful and made the whole thing much better. Their camps are very nice and organized. Very good one, highly recommended!
We had an amazing experience with Meru Slopes and I would definitely recommend them! From the very beginning, Gift was helping us through WhatsApp and was always very kind and patient, answering all of our questions and helping us organize everything before the trip. It made us feel very safe and well taken care of. Our guide, Joel, was absolutely amazing! He was very knowledgeable, attentive and, most importantly, really wanted us to have the best experience possible. He was always looking for animals and explaining everything to us. We saw so many incredible things during the safari, and I honestly think having a good guide makes a huge difference — and Joel was definitely a great one! Our cook, Buga, also deserves a special mention. The food was much better than we expected for a camping safari! Every meal was delicious and he always prepared everything with so much care. Another thing we really appreciated was that our time in Arusha before and after the safari was included in the package. They picked us up at the airport, took us back after the trip, and everything was very well organized. We also had a guide take us around Arusha and show us a little bit of the city, which was a really nice extra. Overall, we felt very well taken care of from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The whole experience was much more than just the safari itself. It was organized, safe, fun and full of amazing memories. Thank you so much to Gift, Joel, Buga and the whole Meru Slopes team for making our Tanzania trip so special!
This tour way exceeded our expectations, from the organisation by Leonard to the excellent park guiding by Nickson and cooking by Bongey. We saw every animal we had wanted to see and that was down to Nickson our amazing guide, nothing was too much trouble for him. The food from our cook Bongey was so good and he even made special vegetarian meals for my wife. I have no hesitation in recommending this company for a safari.
Leonard the tour organizer was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Nickson our tour guide had such an amazing knowledge of the wildlife and could spot the animals a mile off. Our camp chef produced fantastic meals for and us we never went hungry. They were both great friends. Will always remember our African Safari.
This was an excellent tour! Our driver-guide, Stanley, was outstanding. His experience and knowledge about the Serengeti wildlife helped make this tour all the many positives it was. And our chef, Buga, always delivered on providing great tasting meals. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
Life changing experience with a brilliant company. Couldn't recommend meru more. Leonard our organiser always answered any questions we had immediately and insured a seamless trip. Goodwin and Johannes our two guides were brilliant, very knowledgeable and insured we saw the big 5 in our short trip. Our chef Mr Delicious was also so funny and made great food. A great company and a trip they insured we never forget.
I've great time during this shared group Safari. Kouma is an experienced guide, very good I'm spotting animals and careful at the group needs. We had Rasheed as chef, he is great at cooking we had many tasteful dishes!
Meru Slopes made our safari experience unforgettable. It was easy to communicate with Gift Tembo to plan out our trip and he was immensely helpful. We opted for a 5-day 4 night mid-tier option and honestly feel like we had the luxury experience. The lodging options were a dream and served as clean, comfy, and gorgeous places to rest after a long safari day. Our guide, Bryson, was fabulous, pointing out all sorts of animals and answering our constant questions about things we were seeing. He knew all the spots and would take us on detours if he heard of an exciting spotting nearby. We saw over 30 different species of animals on our trip, including the Big 5, giraffes, a cheetah with cubs and even a lion chase. If you’re looking for a tour company I definitely recommend.
Meru Slopes provided a once in a lifetime experience seeing the wonders of Tanzania. Our organizer Gift Tempo, day guide Victor, and our AMAZING safari guide Bryson created a special experience we will remember forever. We encountered every animal we had hoped to see, stayed in amazing accommodations, and were treated wonderfully by the staff. If you book safari, please choose Meru.
I joined a group because I was solo. Joel, the driver, took us through Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro, and we laughed so much together! He’s a very nice guy who makes it a pleasure to spend time with. We saw so many animals! Joel knows everyplace were the animals used to stay, so it’s only a patience factor, but usually we observed them almost immediately. He also helped me a lot when I lost my phone ❤️ (we found it!) The organisation provides you with loads of water, beers and even wine. The tents are very good, and the sleeping bags warm and clean. The chef “Bonge Elia” cooked for us a huge amount of “tamu sana” (delicious) food at every meal so that we were always so fullll! I don’t give 5 stars only for a few facts: Even if our car never had serious problems (every time Joel heard something stopped to fix it) as I saw for many others that stuck on the road, the car needs many small fixes that can improve the trip over long distances (windows closure, doors closure, engine starting mechanism (!!!), handles…). The first public camp chosen by the company in Serengeti, had not wifi and it wasn’t possible to dry hair in the bathroom as there was no plug-in (in Serengeti there is wifi, that is one of the few places where there wasn't….) I would have preferred to spend more time in Ngorongoro and to eat at the picnic area inside the crater or at the end of the park permit, outside the gate of the park instead of coming back to the camp at 11:30 for the meal. Overall, I really suggest the company, the driver and the chef, were a great experience.
I chose Meru Slopes because of their reviews and I wanted to book locally and keep all the money in Africa. From start to finish this safari was a dream come true. Gift was so helpful every step of the way. The driver always had us up earlier than others , which helped us see incredible animals while others were still at breakfast. We saw the big 5 and so much more. When our jeep was the first upon an accident, our driver, me and another jumped into action to stabilize the patient. We had three hot meals a day made by our chef and it was delicious. I just can’t say enough great things about this company. You will not be disappointed if you choose them. The only bummer was the chargers and internet in our jeep didn’t work until the last day, which was a challenge because this was the camping tour. Just take the trip!
Amazing experience from start to finish. All accommodation exactly as described. Guides Samuel and Jackson were excellent and very knowledgeable. The chef who accompanied us (Bugha) was also amazing and provided 3 great meals a day. Overall very positive experience and worth the money.
An absolutely wonderful safari experience! Leonard, our tour organiser, was very helpful in organising the tour and answering any logistical questions we had once we were there. Our tour guides, Samweli and Jackson, were incredibly welcoming and very knowledgable about all the parks and animals, including all the best spots to see all the animals. Buga, the chef for the trip, made us amazing meals which kept us well fed and satisfied. A highly highly recommended trip!
Zaf’s tours were Amazing. They took care of everything and you don’t have to worry about anything. Said, our guide was very knowledgeable and patient. I’m glad I decided to go with them as I had 3 more options. You will not go wrong with Zaf’s tours
If you are traveling to Tanzania for safari, treat yourself to the best. From airport pickup to airport drop off, every moment of our 5 day safari was top notch. Our driver, Andrew, has over 20 years experience as a guide. Across three national parks, he knew the layout of all three like it was his home. He knew where to find the animals, hidden spots, and by the end, we’d actually seen all of the Big 5, as well as some cool quirky animals slomg the wet. Love the Hyrax and the Dik Dik! Accommodation each night was nothing short of luxury, and we were on the mid level safari. Absolute glamping! I can’t recommend these guys enough. They are so kind and accommodating, knowledgeable and friendly. Chadrick will customize the safari to your time allotment and budget, Andrew will make it unforgettable!!
The pluses: 1. Office offers super speedy client service. Any issue you have you can write them and they promptly act. Very polite, very considerable, felt safe. 2. Bhonge, our chef, was EXCELLENT! Such a nice guy with a big heart and beautiful mind and what a chef. The food was versatile, flavorful and always fresh. 3. You will hate waking up before everyone else but trust me, one of the best things is that they start tours early before most cars arrive. You get to spend at least part of the day in privacy. 4. Tumsifu, our second guide, is probably the most intelligent and well-read person we met during our trip. He not only knows plenty about wildlife but also about culture, politics, world affairs etc. He is calm, has lots of respect for wildlife and his guests. Super happy we got to spend part of our safari with him. The neutral: Our first guide, Samuel, requires different kind of taste than ours. He is very.... kindergarten teacher like, talks a lot (same repetitive stories about animals) but at the same time he is very caring and a good person in heart. Just not for everyone. The negative: Our car was very broken. It was not possible to close 2 of the windows totally and opening them was very very difficult (1 needed 4 people to do it together). During dusty drives that meant that dust came in and you couldn't open windows to let air in during the non-dusty parts. 2 grab handles fell off during our drives. One hitting my boyfriend on the head. Also, it was obvious the engine wasn't freshest anymore so we drove way slower than the rest. That car is waiting for retirement.
Our 5-day safari with Meru Slopes was truly one of the most incredible experiences of our lives. We visited Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, and the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, and every single day exceeded our expectations. We were incredibly lucky to have Jackson as our guide. He was absolutely outstanding—professional, knowledgeable, funny, and always available to help with anything we needed. From the very first day, he made us feel like part of his family, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere throughout the entire trip. His passion for wildlife and his incredible ability to spot animals made every game drive unforgettable. Thanks to Jackson, we were even able to see all of the Big Five, which made this adventure even more special. It is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that we would recommend to everyone. We discovered Meru Slopes through the excellent reviews on SafariBookings, and choosing them was the best decision we could have made. The entire team was extremely kind, professional, and always very responsive on WhatsApp, answering all our questions quickly and helping us with every request before and during the safari. If you’re planning a safari in Tanzania, we can wholeheartedly recommend Meru Slopes. Everything was perfectly organized, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you for giving us memories that will last a lifetime!
Our 5-day safari with Meru Slopes Tours & Safari was truly unforgettable and without a doubt one of the best travel experiences of our lives. If you are looking for the best safari company in Tanzania, we can wholeheartedly recommend Meru Slopes. From the very beginning, Gift Tembo took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for. He was incredibly flexible, attentive to our wishes, and designed an itinerary that perfectly matched our expectations. His professionalism and personal approach made us feel confident that we had chosen the right company. Our guide was Nuru, and we can honestly say he is the best safari guide we could have hoped for. Not only does he have an extraordinary ability to find even the rarest animals, but his knowledge of wildlife behavior, ecology, and animal habits is simply outstanding. Listening to him felt like watching a live National Geographic documentary, with fascinating stories and explanations throughout the journey. During our safari, we were the first vehicle to spot rare animals on several occasions, and many times we enjoyed these incredible sightings completely on our own. Our leopard encounters were especially unforgettable. Over the course of just two days, we managed to see a leopard five different times, which is remarkable in itself. Even more incredible, two of those sightings were completely private, with no other safari vehicles around. These were truly magical moments that we will never forget. Nuru also has an exceptional eye for photography. He always positioned the vehicle perfectly so we could see the animals’ faces while making sure the lighting was ideal for photos. Thanks to him, we came home with incredible pictures and memories that will last a lifetime. What impressed us most was his deep respect for nature and wildlife. He always switched off the engine at the right moments, encouraged everyone to stay quiet, and made sure the animals’ wellbeing always came first. His experience, professionalism, and genuine passion for wildlife are evident in everything he does. We were also extremely impressed by the quality of the accommodations and the food throughout the trip. Every lodge and camp was beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly located, while every meal was delicious. The food was fresh, varied, and prepared to a high standard. The most exciting part, however, was spending the nights inside Serengeti National Park. Sleeping in a tented lodge surrounded by wildlife roaming freely around the camp after dark is an experience unlike any other. At the same time, we always felt completely safe, as guests are escorted by the camp staff whenever they walk between their tents and the common areas after sunset. It perfectly combines adventure with complete peace of mind. After five days on safari, we are convinced that the guide is what truly makes the difference between a good safari and an unforgettable one. A safari with Meru Slopes Tours & Safari - especially with Nuru as your guide - is much more than simply seeing animals. It is an opportunity to understand their behavior, learn about the African ecosystem, and experience Tanzania in the most authentic way possible. We highly recommend Meru Slopes Tours & Safari and especially Nuru to anyone looking for the best safari experience in Tanzania. If we ever return to Tanzania, we would choose Meru Slopes Tours & Safari again without a second thought and would definitely ask for Nuru as our guide.
I went on the 5 day camping safari with Meru Slopes as a solo traveler; it was the trip of a lifetime. Rashid the cook and Lobulu the guide made our experience unforgettable—excellent food and lots of knowledge. I wanted to meet fellow travelers, and we had a group of 6 from all over the world during the safari. Do keep in mind that the camping requires you to be prepared with headlamps, towels, power banks, etc., since it is really a tent in the middle of the Serengeti. Also, the hotel in Arusha, Tourist Inn, is very bare bones probably one star; if you are a picky traveler, I would suggest booking your own hotel in Arusha. Overall, amazing experience—will highly recommend Meru Slopes
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an excellent safari with Meru Slopes Safari Tours. Our driver-guide, Andrew, was exceptional—friendly, knowledgeable, informative, and genuinely enjoyable to spend time with throughout the trip. He worked hard to make sure we had the best wildlife viewing opportunities and helped make the experience unforgettable. Our chef, Gideon, was also outstanding. He was very accommodating, and the food was consistently delicious, healthy, and far better than I expected while camping. The camping experience was a lot of fun, and the accommodations were comfortable and well-maintained for a camping safari. Thanks to the team’s efforts, we were fortunate enough to see all of the Big Five, including incredible sightings in both the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. I highly recommend Meru Slopes Safari Tours to anyone looking for a memorable Tanzania safari experience!
Great experience with Meru slopes. Everything was perfect starting from the magnificent views to our tour guide Max who did a remarkable job explaining everything we see around us in exhaustive details. Max made sure we saw all sorts of animals in different habitat (lions, elephants, rhinos, monkeys, leopards, hippos and more).
We had a great experience on our safari in Tarangire and Ngorongoro crater. Nuru was a perfect guide and Rasheed provided very nice food. Thank you meru slopes and Jerome for helping us plan our trip. We really want to give a special thanks to Nuru, he thought us a lot about both culture and the animals, which made the trip very interesting! Also he is a very good driver, we always felt safe with him.
Just came back from a 5-day, 4-night safari in the Serengeti and it was such an amazing experience! 🦁🌅 Our guide was super friendly, knowledgeable, and made every game drive exciting. We got to see so many animals up close! The chef was also incredible — the food was delicious and way better than expected for a safari. The whole team was kind and took great care of us, making the trip feel easy and enjoyable. Honestly, I loved every moment and would highly recommend it to anyone! 🐘✨
From the moment we arrived at Arusha Airport until our final drop-off, we had nothing but a positive experience and professional service. The vehicle was comfortable, and the timing for all the national park visits and game drives was perfectly managed. Additionally, the campsites and hotels were well beyond our expectations. Special thanks to our driver, Andrew, who was professional, entertaining, and simply a pleasure to be around. We also want to send our best regards to our cook, Buga; we truly enjoyed every meal he prepared. Everything was tasty, healthy, and a great introduction to local flavors. We saw every animal on our list and gained deep insights into the wildlife and Tanzanian culture. The knowledge shared with us throughout the trip was impressive and yet not boring at all. We are extremely satisfied with Meru Slopes and the entire team. We will definitely be recommending them to everyone!
So, I researched a lot to find an affordable safari, but most started around $2,000 for a 4-night / 5-day safari that included the Serengeti savanna and the Ngorongoro Crater. After several days, I stumbled—purely by luck—upon Meru Slopes’ fantastic offer at only $1,050 for such a trip, including lodging for one night in a private room/lodge and the other three nights in tented camping arrangements. I must say, I was very skeptical. How could they offer basically the same package for 50% less?! And we’re talking about the hotel in Arusha upon arrival and on day 5, for free—breakfast and dinner included! All three meals during the safari were included, all drinks (beer and wine included!!!) during game drives and, of course, during meals. I mean… was this too good to be true? Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater paradise, and on top of it all, a 3–4 hour game drive in Tarangire National Park (which I didn’t even know existed!). My contact person, Mr. Shadrack, turned out to be incredibly positive, service-oriented, and efficient. We corresponded at all hours via WhatsApp. So I decided to go for it and paid only about 10% upfront. The hotel in Arusha is basic—but the bed and bathroom were clean and cozy, and every single staff member was extremely friendly and willing to assist (get a room on the top floor with a view of Mount Meru). I can especially mention Mr. Geoffrey Nasari and the super-efficient receptionist, Mrs. Juliana. And then finally came the day on which I was basically gambling my biggest travel experience—the safari with Meru Slopes. I could go on… but let me (try to) be brief: the Toyota Land Cruiser safari jeep for six people was excellent—just like all the other jeeps offered in the $2,000–$4,000 package deals we crossed paths with every day! Tarangire National Park turned out to be a fantastic surprise, with lush green woodland and tons of animals—from zebras, monumental giraffes, warthogs, to lions on the hunt… and yes, even a whole family of elephants. The car was packed with water, soft drinks, and even Kilimanjaro beers! My group was a mix of very entertaining and charming people from Greece, France, and Hong Kong—definitely not a bunch of rowdy backpackers on a budget trip. Our game driver, Mr. Lobulo, and our “private chef”—yes, you read that correctly—our private chef, Mr. Rashim, were simply extraordinary. Mr. Lobulo, the guide and driver, had the perfect combination of deep knowledge of the animal kingdom mixed with personal stories and, more importantly, an extremely creative way of using his network of drivers and friends via the two-band radio he was constantly synced with. Why? Because the Big Five are never in the same place (of course). So very often we’d suddenly make a 180-degree turn and drive as if we were on a mission from God (!) toward a new location 3–5 km down the road or behind a rock formation… only to slowly approach a family of lions, or the very reclusive leopard resting high up on a tree branch. I mean… we saw it all: 2 cheetahs, 3 leopards, 15+ hyenas, 30+ lions, 40+ hippos, 50+ elephants, 200+ buffaloes, 1,000+ zebras, and uncountable wildebeest. For bird-loving travelers, I should also mention that we saw pretty much every bird on the menu. And in the Ngorongoro caldera, we completed the full Big Five by spotting a black rhinoceros. So there you have it! Oh—and did I mention that they also picked me up and dropped me back at Kilimanjaro International Airport? And yes… for free. Man. What an incredibly successful safari experience. Thank you, Meru Slopes. Special thanks to Mr. Shadrack for his top-professional, efficient, and productive communication.
Our family had an unforgettable experience traveling with Full Package Adventures. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfectly organized and stress-free. The team was friendly, professional, and always ready to help, making us feel safe and well taken care of throughout the journey. The accommodation was comfortable, the food was delicious, and the safari activities were exciting for both adults and children. We enjoyed seeing beautiful landscapes and amazing wildlife together as a family, creating memories that we will cherish forever. Full Package Adventures truly delivered excellent service and made our family trip special and enjoyable. We highly recommend them to any family looking for a fun, relaxing, and well-planned adventure.
We had an amazing 5-day safari experience with Meru Slopes. From the very beginning, communication with the company was excellent. The safari itself was fantastic. Our guide and cook took care of all the practical details, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy the experience. Overall, this safari was absolutely worth the money, and we highly recommend Meru Slopes to anyone looking for a memorable and well-organized safari adventure. A special thank you to Lobulu and Buka. I have been on this exact trip twice with Lobulu as my guide and he is phenomenal. Together with Buka as our cook, they made the perfect and most authentic safari experience you can imagine. THANK YOU 🙏🏻
We just got back from a 5-day budget safari, great experience with Meru!! We started researching operators a few months in advance but ended up confirming only a week before starting the safari. We decided on Meru Slopes after reading the reviews on various sites (google, instagram), they provided good value for money, seemed serious and reliable. We were not wrong! - Pre/Post-safari: they were very accommodating and flexible. We got the 2 nights in Arusha included and the transfers from Arusha airport and to Kilimanjaro on the way out. We found that not having to worry about organising these was an added bonus and good value for money. The hotel (Arusha tourist inn) is no-frills, comfortable and clean, and the airport transfers were on time and with very nice staff. We also liked getting sim cards on arrival. These things made us feel looked after by the company and just adds to the overall positive experience. -During safari: our guide Max was very knowledgeable and always took us to the best spots for finding the animals. We liked that he was keen to leave early and punctual in order to maximise the chances. On the morning of the Ngorongoro visit, we were the first leaving the camp to give us an early start in the park! He was respectful and responsible with the welfare of the animals and the parks - we were visitors in their home. Even with this, he made sure we saw all of the famous 5 and also the ‘ugly’ 5! The chef (Johanni) prepared tasty meals throughout, even for the picnic lunch - we appreciate that no plastic waste was created, as some companies seemed to provide fast food style packaging. We will definitely recommend Meru (and Max!) to anyone looking to visit!
cannot recommend this safari enough! our guide samwel was funny, attentive, charismatic, drove safely, and took incredible care of us and his car! he cleaned his car every day. our chef salim was also incredible. the food was beyond my expectations. we saw all big 5 and all ugly 5. it was an incredible experience.
cannot recommend this experience enough! it was incredible. we saw all the big 5 and all the ugly 5. our guide samuel was incredible and took such great care of us. he kept the car impeccably clean. he was so funny and told amazing stories. he drove very safely. and our chef salim was amazing as well! the food was delicious, way beyond my expectations.
Bear in mind, I did not originally booked with this company but my original tour company basically put me in this tour as they were they trusted partner. I had the pleasure of doing a part of the safari including Serengeti and Ngorongoro with Samuel as a guide and it was the best part of my safari. He was so funny and engaging, and help us to become one team of friends for a few days. Among other things he was very communicative, he was always briefing of what to expect, where we were going, what we would encounter. He also went all the way to the northern part of Serengeti to see to great migration. His driving skills were very good and we sorted a flat tire and being stuck in the mud quite promptly. He also gave us the explanations of all animals we were encountering. He also delivered in terms of animals seen, we saw two groups of cheetah and had also about 5-6 sightings of lions from a male lion alone, a female alone, a family of lions, a baby lions sucking milk from the mother, female lions in the move I guess to hunt, etc. Of course we also saw lots of herbivores: wildebeast, warthog, buffalos, zebras, all sort of antelopes, three groups of hippos, flamingos, elephants, baboons and some other smaller animales and birds. We also saw rhinos, although very very far but it is very difficult anyway. What we did not see is leopards. The food was also pretty good. The accommodation was camping, which was what I booked and it was better than expected, especially the showers and the toilets and dinning facilities. The only thing that I was not aware of is that in order to fill a car, sometimes companies combine groups with different itineraries so you have to be flexible. For example after Ngorongoro, part of my fellow passenger had to go back to Arusha but I continued, so Ngorongoro was cut short, although the company gave us a walking tour in Mosquito river village to keep as busy. The accommodation before Serengeti and after Ngorongoro was also better than expected, I was expecting camping but it was actually a room with bathroom facilities.
Great experience! The variety of landscapes and animals to see in 5 days is unbelievable. Our guide Lobulu was super nice and funny, and had a lot of interesting information about each animal. Chef Bonge delivered delicious meals everyday. Can definitely recommend!
We had an amazing time on our safari which Jerome organized for us. Our tour guide Labulu was very competent and has a lot of knowledge about the nature, which he shared with us. Also the food by Bonge was delicious. Besides the safari tour the accommodation in the Arusha Tourist Inn was also included in the price as well as the transfers from and to the airport. I would totally recommend Meru Slopes for doing a safari.
Just finished our 5-day safari with Meru Slopes and we had an amazing time. Abraham, our guide, and Rashid, our chef, created an amazing experience for us. Abraham was knowledgeable about the plants and animals (even more obscure ones) and always treated them with great respect. Both at camp and during game drives, he treated everyone in our group with professionalism and kindness, and we felt well taken care of. On top of that, he was an extremely skilled and safe driver on the very challenging roads in the area. Rashid prepared delicious food for every meal — both local and foreign cuisines — and always brought with him infectious positive energy. When he wasn’t cooking, Rashid was always game to help us pick up Swahili words that would be helpful during our travels. With Abraham’s guidance we were able to see all of the “big five” (and many many more)! Abraham was honest and never over-promised, yet always knew where to look. In Serengeti, we saw several prides of feasting lions, countless herds of elephants, and a pair of leopards. In Ngorongoro, we saw a massive group of water buffalo and spotted the elusive black rhino from a distance. To top off our trip, in Tarangire, Abraham found us a pair of cheetahs sleeping under a tree. P.S. We are writing this because Abraham and Rashid were superb — we’ve had other tour operators forcefully insist we write a positive review, and Abraham and Rashid did not do this :)
Rashid (our guide) and Saleem (our chef) were absolutely incredible and made this the best experience! All of our transport, accommodation and food was very well organised by Kelvin. Can't recommend this enough!
We were a group of five on a five-day tour with three nights of camping, and the trip exceeded our expectations at every step. We were incredibly well looked after by our guide, Rashid, and our chef, Salim, who attentively catered to all of our group’s needs. The equipment provided was excellent, and the truck even came with a fridge and Wi-Fi! We would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a safari that truly offers great value for money and creates unforgettable memories.
After a long search we chose Meru Slopes thanks to the excellent reviews and the availability and kindness of the contact person, Shadrack. Back from our safari we can say: we couldn't have made a better choice! We chose a 5 days / 4 nights basic and shared safari in Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. The first night, after Tarangire NP, is at Fanaka Lodge: there are bungalows with private bathroom, a swimming pool and a beautiful garden. The public camping in Serengeti is very very basic... but we loved it! It is the true essence of safari! You can have visits from all kinds of animals in the middle of the tents and during the night you can hear the sounds of the animals and the noises of the savannah. The last camping, Simba Public Campsite in Ngorongoro, is better organized than the Serengeti one but more crowded and during the night is quite cold: we suggest to bring warm and heavy clothing, for example a thermal sweatshirt and a light windbreaker or down jacket. The jeep was in excellent condition and was cleaned every day by our guide. Luckily we also had a great time with our travel companions. As for the price, we can say that it is really fair, considering the high entrance fees to national parks. Let's talk about the staff. Shadrack, from the very first moment, was available to respond very quickly to all our requests via email and to change the program according to our needs. He patiently and kindly answered all our questions, even the "strangest" ones. Paul, our guide and driver, is simply the best guide we could have come across, always smiling, kind and friendly. He speaks excellent English and bring good humor into the jeep during long days and transfers from one park to another. Thanks to him we were able to see most of the animals up close: the mother cheetah with 4 cubs, the lionesses with 8 lion cubs, the leopard resting on the branch of a tree after having devoured the prey on the branch below, and all other kinds of animals. We also managed to see the Great Wildebeest Migration crossing the Mara River Rachid, our chef, was always smiling and ready to make jokes. He prepared excellent meals, from breakfast to dinner, always different from one day to the next. We really enjoyed the safari, above all the Serengeti NP. It's definitely one of the most beautiful trips we've ever done. We will definitely recommend Meru Slopes to anyone who asks us for advice on a safari in Tanzania! Mattia & Azzurra
Our safari was truly an unforgettable adventure. From the very beginning everything felt well organized, and we could just relax and enjoy every moment. Our guide Samuel was absolutely amazin. He was not only knowledgeable about the animals and nature, but also really fun to be around. Thanks to him we got to see the big five and so many other animals up close. He always made sure we had the best views and experiences. We were also so lucky to have chef Buga with us, who took care of all the meals during the trip. He managed to prepare tasty, fresh dishes and every meal felt like a small celebration after a day full of adventures. His cooking brought everyone together and gave the safari a very homely and warm feeling. Together, Samuel and Buga created a welcoming atmosphere that made the whole trip truly special. We couldn’t have asked for a better team 🐘🦁✨
We had an incredible experience with Meru Slopes, especially with our guide Douglas! He made the entire experience with his knowledge, and kindness. I would 100% requesting him if you can!! Thank you again :)
Daniel was a great tour guide who catered to our needs and helping us find the big 5s. Overall we were super friendly and as a photographer he was willing to stop the car out of nowhere for me to capture the best moments.
Daniel was a very good guide. He knows where to find the animals and very experienced. The camping was fun. We could hear so many animals at nught
Daniel was such a great guide! We all loved the Safari so much and saw many animals including the big 5! Thank you to the team!
We went on a 5-day safari as a family with two children (14 and 11 years old) through Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater – and it was simply a dream come true! From the very first day we were overwhelmed by the beauty of the landscapes and the incredible closeness to the animals. A very special thanks goes to our guide and driver John. He was not only extremely friendly, kind and pleasantly unobtrusive, but also took such great care of the children. Most importantly, with his experience, his sharp eye and his instinct for where to find wildlife, he made it possible for us to have so many fantastic encounters. Without him, we would surely have seen only a fraction of what we did. He drove us carefully and considerately over the long distances and constantly amazed us with his deep knowledge of the animals and nature. Thanks to John, we were able to witness countless magical moments: spotting a leopard resting in a tree, watching a group of cheetahs up close, and observing lions in different situations. The absolute highlight was when a lioness with her cubs walked right past our jeep – pure goosebumps! These are moments we will carry with us for the rest of our lives. This safari was an adventure full of emotions, wonder and joy. Everything was perfectly organized, varied and truly unforgettable. We can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone – for us, it was the trip of a lifetime!
An experience we will never forget! Meru Slopes takes care of everything, from transportation to food… super convenient! A special thanks to our guide Paul, who with passion and dedication allowed us to see so many animals from unique perspectives. This is not something to take for granted: many guides stick to the most common spots, while for Paul the search for a leopard or a rhino becomes an exciting challenge that you’ll enjoy just as much as he does. And the moment you finally find them… it’s simply indescribable! Highly recommended: if you book a tour with Meru Slopes, ask for Paul! A heartfelt thank you also to our cook Rachid, who treated us every day with delicious meals. Thank you, Martina
Our trip in Tanzania was just amazing. A big part of the credit goes to our guide, Paul – always kind, helpful, and passionate. His love for his homeland and the stunning nature that surrounds it is both evident and contagious. It was amazing to see how committed he was to making sure we got to see each of the Big Five. Thanks to him, this journey – already extraordinary in itself – became truly unforgettable. An honourable mention also goes to our cook, Rachid, who delighted us every single day with his exquisite dishes. Matteo (Struzzo)
We booked with Meru Slopes only a couple weeks before arriving. We planned and communicated via WhatsApp, which made it very easy and I was able to ask all my questions. I travelled alone with my 3 kids, so it was important to me to know I was taken care of and able to have a one to one contact. We wanted the budget experience, not just for economic reasons, but also because we wanted to sleep in tents. Sleeping in a tent, hearing the lions roar and being greeted by a zebra in front of your tent was truly magical. We were so lucky to receive Stanley as our guide. He accompanied us the whole time, alongside our chef Johanni, who prepared fresh food for us 3 times a day! Both of them were so friendly and I can only highly recommend them! Stanley has the eyes of an eagle and spots animals long before you will. He knows the area so well and I often observed other guides asking for his advice. His experience and calm will help making your safari unforgettable.
