Big thanks to Suricata Safaris and our guide Jeremy for an epic 5-day camping trip! Jeremy knows the parks inside out, drives amazingly well, and answered all our questions about the animals. Couldn't have asked for a better trip!

After breakfast, the tour departs between 08:30 - 09:00. After breakfast, your private guide will pick you up and your private safari with a private 4x4 safari vehicle starts. The first park visited is Tarangire where you will arrive at the lodge for lunch and will enjoy an afternoon game drive. The park is famous for its high density of elephants and baobab trees. Visitors to the park in the June to November dry season can expect to see large herds of thousands of zebra, wildebeest and cape buffalo. Other common resident animals include waterbuck, giraffe, dik dik, impala, eland, Grant's gazelle, vervet monkey, banded mongoose, and olive baboon. Predators in Tarangire include African lion, leopard, cheetah, caracal, honey badger, and African wild dog.

Day 3

After an early breakfast of coffee, you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro conservation Area supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park, it’s dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually be seen here. Later on, will follow the transfer back to Arusha city for drop off in your hotel

Having a completely private 5-day campsite setup away from crowded lodges made all the difference. Jeremy’s calm demeanor, sharp tracking instinct, and vast background in conservation biology enriched every game drive. We encountered everything from grazing plains game to curious warthogs trotting through dusty trails. The team’s hospitality, attention to hygiene in the bush, and safety protocols were top-notch throughout our stay. If you want an authentic, private Tanzanian safari, Suricata Safaris is the absolute gold standard.
Five days allowed us to explore deep into the ecosystems beyond the tourist-heavy tracks. Jeremy understood lighting conditions perfectly for photography, positioning our pop-up roof vehicle to capture incredible shots of wildlife framed by iconic acacia trees and red-dust sunsets. The sheer diversity of wildlife—from bustling warthog families in grassy clearings to majestic big cats—was staggering. For future travelers doing this 5-day camping trip: bring headlamps, high-capacity power banks, and solid dust protection for cameras. Outstanding job by Suricata Safaris!
Nothing compares to unzipping your tent in the morning to see the sun rising over the Tanzanian plains. Our 5-day private camping tour with Suricata Safaris was well beyond what we imagined. Jeremy’s passion for wildlife is infectious—he brought the park to life with his stories and sharp tracking skills. From campfire dinners to thrilling afternoon game drives, Jeremy and the crew made every second count. Absolutely unforgettable trip!
We have just completed an incredible 5-day private safari with Suricata Safaris, and it was truly the trip of a lifetime. Our guide, Deo, was absolutely amazing. His knowledge of the animals, the environment, and their behaviour was outstanding, and it was clear how much he genuinely cares about wildlife and conservation. Deo looked after us so well throughout the entire safari. His passion, patience, and expertise made every moment special. Thanks to him, we were lucky enough to see so many incredible sights, including elephants , leopard, lions, cheetahs with their young, a cheetah feeding her young and rhinos. Every game drive was exciting, and Dau always went the extra mile to give us the best possible experience. The Suricata Boma was a fantastic experience, and our stay at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge was absolutely stunning — beautiful surroundings, excellent service, and the perfect place to relax after amazing days out in the wilderness. A huge thank you to Deo and the Suricata Safaris team for creating memories we will never forget. If you are looking for a private safari with a guide who is knowledgeable, caring, and truly passionate about wildlife, we cannot recommend Dau and Suricata Safaris highly enough. An outstanding experience from start to finish!
We did a 5-day safari with Suricate Safaris, booked directly with the company, and it was one of the most incredible experiences we’ve ever had. From day one we felt in the hands of true professionals. Our guide Ecky was the heart of the trip. His knowledge of the wildlife, flora and ecosystems of Tanzania is extraordinary, and he shares it with so much warmth and charisma. Ecky is Maasai, and he generously shared so much about the local culture and society, which made the experience even richer. He’s warm, sensitive and deeply attentive — a true gem. The accommodations were outstanding too. Boma de Suricatas is absolute top-tier luxury, and the bush camp in the Serengeti was a completely new and unforgettable experience — sleeping in the heart of the savannah surrounded by the sounds of nature. We had unforgettable wildlife sightings and unbelievable sunsets, and by the end we were so moved that we cried saying goodbye to Ecky. We truly hope to go back one day. Ask for Ecky — you will never regret it. We recommend Suricate Safaris without any hesitation.
Our safari experience was truly memorable, and the absolute highlight of the trip was our guide, Charles. Charles deserves every one of his 5 stars. He went above and beyond to help us experience the very best of the Serengeti. Thanks to his dedication, we saw every one of the Big Five multiple times, including mothers with cubs, animals hunting and feeding, and many incredibly close wildlife encounters. He always drove safely, had outstanding knowledge about the animals, their behavior and habitats, explained the geography of the region, and shared fascinating facts about Tanzania throughout the journey. More than just a guide, he became a true friend during our safari. We are deeply grateful for everything he did for us. Regarding Suricata Safaris, we would rate the company 3 stars. First, we want to recognize what they did well. Everything was organized professionally: they were punctual with every transfer, booked excellent accommodations, and provided a new, comfortable, safe safari vehicle equipped with a refrigerator. We have absolutely no complaints about the logistics or the overall organization of the trip. However, there are two important issues that we believe the company should address. The first concerns the way guides are treated during the tour. We found it very disappointing that there were repeatedly not enough plates, cutlery, or meals for our guide, despite our safari being sold as a full-board experience. Throughout the trip, it often felt as though there was not enough food reserved for him. A guide is not simply a driver—he is the person responsible for our safety, our experience, and the success of the safari. He deserves to receive the same meals as the guests, not to wait until everyone else has eaten or rely on leftovers. We were genuinely happy to share our meals with Charles whenever necessary because he had become a great friend. However, this should never be the responsibility of the guests. Suricata should value and care for its guides with the respect and dignity they deserve. The second point is about the planning and customer service for private safaris. We felt that Suricata is still not fully accustomed to managing customized private tours at the level expected by international travelers. The Great Migration is what makes the Serengeti world-famous. We traveled in August, precisely when the herds are in the northern Serengeti preparing to cross into the Maasai Mara. For reasons we still do not understand, the company assumed that we were not interested in seeing the migration and planned our entire itinerary only in Central Serengeti. When someone books a private safari, they expect more than transportation and accommodation. They expect guidance about the best seasonal experiences, explanations of the available options, and questions about how they would like to personalize their itinerary. We naturally assumed that visiting the Great Migration in August was an obvious part of the experience. The company assumed the opposite and never discussed it with us. To make matters even more confusing, the offer we received included photographs of wildebeest crossing the river, which naturally led us to believe that this experience was part of our itinerary. At no point did the itinerary state that the Great Migration was not included, nor were we ever asked whether we wished to visit it. We believe it is only natural that someone traveling to the Serengeti in August would want to see the event that has made the park famous around the world. Overall, we had a wonderful safari and created unforgettable memories. We sincerely appreciate the professionalism in organizing the trip and, above all, the exceptional work of Charles. We share these comments because we believe they represent valuable opportunities for improvement. By taking better care of their guides and providing more proactive, personalized planning for private safaris, Suricata could become an even stronger competitor in the international luxury travel market.
Suricata Safaris provided us with an unforgettable experience through Serengeti National Park. We saw an incredible variety of wildlife, including the Big Five and the Great Wildebeest Migration. Our guides, Filex and Amiri, have an exceptional talent for finding the best wildlife viewing spots. They shared their extensive knowledge about every animal we encountered and patiently answered all of our questions. They were also incredibly accommodating of our requests and schedule, making the entire experience seamless and deeply enjoyable. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to explore the Serengeti!
Nice place with good swimming pool good gym nice staff and very excellent food
Adam our tour guide was fantastic
We had a lovely 5 days - great driver, went out of his way to help us see everything . Patient and kindly . Our driver was Amiri
I just have to say thank you for every day which I join with Lewis. Lewis is the best guide who I could have on this trip. Lewis was a very attentive guide, he also knows a lot about safari’s area. So he answer all of the questions which we did. Thanks to Lewis, we really enjoyed the safari and even met Big Five. Also Luka is the best chef. Luka was responsible for all of the our meals, which was spectacular. So I just have to say thank you all for Lewis and Luka for become my dream comes true! It was awesome!
This was my second safari with Suricata, and this time I booked a private tour because I was especially focused on photography. I was looking for a great guide who knew the parks very well and understood the importance of early morning and late afternoon game drives. I had specifically asked for a guide with that kind of experience, and I was very lucky to have Frank. He is an excellent guide—kind, fun, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to be on safari with. He went above and beyond to make sure I got the experience I was hoping for, and as a result, I captured some amazing photos. If you’re looking for a great safari experience and excellent service the next time you’re in Tanzania, definitely check out Suricata. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful safari experience in Tanzania with Suricata. Our guide, Gerald, was attentive and professional from beginning to end, providing my family and me a safe, beautiful, and informative tour. We were able to see many animals and the incredible natural beauty of the region. We did the five-day tour departing from Arusha. We also enjoyed the facilities and meals; I certainly recommend it.
We did a 5 day private safari with Suricata Safaris & was extremely pleased. We had Jumbe as our guide & his level of knowledge & ability to spot animals was amazing. He was a very good driver & felt very safe at all times with his driving skills. We were very pleased with the lodges we stayed at the Suricata Boma Lodge was amazing & we were pleased with the Tanzania Bush Camp as well. I’m thrilled we choose Surabaya Safaris & plan to tell our friends about their amazing service!!!!!
Jumbo was a great driver and guide. He was very knowledgeable about the animals, thr plant life and the culture of Tanzania. The service at hotels, lodges and tent camp was excellent.
a truly life changing experience! our guide elias was informative and sooo nice!! 5 days didn’t feel long enough — my friend and i saw everything we wanted to, thanks to elias. the camping wasn’t at all as rough as i was expecting — they supplied tents, sleeping bags, pillows AND sleep mats! there was a shower/toilet available at every campsite. the chef was also amazing!! he found out i was a vegetarian and made an increasing amount of vegetarian dishes as the week went on lol if you’re ever considering an african safari, consider using suricata safaris!!
This trip was a once in a lifetime experience! Suricata safaris has everything covered from the start, whether it’s car transport, meals, etc. there is absolutely nothing to worry about. However the best part was our guide Rocky. He is such a good person and genuinely seems to care about the quality of everyone’s experience. He kept everyone laughing, well-fed, and showed us every animal in the Big-5! Best of all Rocky was so so knowledgeable and there was not a single question he didn’t answer in the car whether it was animal, city, or car related. Thank you to Suricata Safaris for such an enjoyable adventure- I would highly recommend to anyone interested in a safari!
Rocky was a perfect guide to four national parks, including Srengeti and Ngorongoro. We saw many animals and received a history lesson for each one. I can highly recommend.
We took a 5 day shared tent safari and went to Tangariro first, then Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. It was the perfect order with the crater as biggest highlight. It was an amazing experience, we saw 4 out of Big Five. Food was amazing all the time with lots of vegetarian options. Tent accommodation is basic but part of the entire nature experience.
We are a group of five Portuguese travelers who went on a 5-day safari with "Suricata." Overall, we are very satisfied with the experience. We spent one day in Tarangire National Park, two days in the Serengeti, one day in Ngorongoro, including the crater, and one day in Lake Manyara. We chose to stay in tents, and we believe this was a fantastic option as it allowed us to have a more immersive safari experience. We were very satisfied with the organization of Suricata, which met our expectations. In terms of animal sightings, the safari was spectacular. We were able to see the Big Five and many other animals, such as hyenas, hippos, wildebeest migrations, giraffes, and more. We even witnessed several hunting scenes and lion prides feeding. Our guide, Damien, kept the atmosphere lively and engaging throughout the trip. Communication with him in English was very easy. He was always flexible and willing to adapt the daily plans to our preferences. When it came to finding animals and facilitating sightings, he was excellent. However, we feel he could have been more proactive and detailed in sharing information about the animals (biology, habits, and theoretical explanations). This is perhaps the only area that could have been improved. Food was good and tents were nice. On top of everything, the price they offer for the service provided seems very competitive compared to what we found elsewhere. They asked as to do a review in the end of everything, and here it is! Thank you guys, the review is sincere, we really loved it!
We had an excellent safari with Suricata. From booking, to debrief, the customer service has been exemplary. They are a very flexible company who listen to guest requests and tailor the tour to meet their needs. Our guide Gordon was constantly making sure his service was meeting our expectations, we were fortunate enough to see all of the big five, and much much more. Tito the chef catered to our dietary needs (vegan) very well and each meal was different and tasty, always plenty of freshly cooked food, whereas majority of other tours were eating packed lunch! We had a briefing on arrival from Daniel, and then a debrief afterwards to take any feedback (all positive from us)! Thank you Suricata, until next time.
we did a 5-day safari and it went like this: day 1: lake manyara day 2: serengeti day 3: still serengeti day 4: ngorongoro day 5: tarangire our guide, golden (yes, that’s his name and his vibe), was amazing. this guy knows every park road like the back of his hand. he spotted lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalos, zebras, and even a leopard like it was no big deal. some of the animals came so close to our car you could almost reach out and pet them (but like, don’t). the campsites? basic but comfy... just BYO toilet paper lol. food situation? 10/10. our chef james kept us well-fed with hot meals on real ceramic plates in the middle of the parks. felt fancy compared to other tours doing the whole tiffin-box thing. to top it off, suricata set up a walking tour in mto wa mbu on our last day. super insightful, guide knew their stuff. all in all, 5 days of total amazement. can’t even put into words how unreal it feels seeing these animals so close. would recommend 100%.
My 5 day camping safari was great experience. Suricata comp has made every sooth and fun. Camp was great every day, food was just extraordinary. Special mention goes to our guide, Rocky. He was able to find us all great 5, ugly 5 and beautiful 5. All done with great explanations. If I would like to see something special, I would definitely ask for him
Suricata is the best company in Tanzania, I spent 5days 4 nights safari Serengeti, Ngotongoro, and Lake Eyasi. I highly Recommend it to every one
What an amazing experience. Staff, chef and our guides Gordon and Baraka were floorless start to finish. Saw some amazing animals and had an incredible time. One of the best things I've ever done. Totally recommend!
We had such a great trip from beginning to end , with first class service . Our camping adventure ran like clock work , the organisation of all the tents and sleeping bags was perfection . Our food on this trip was amazing with hot lunches and dinner. The portions were far more than we could eat with plenty left for seconds . Our Safari guide Frank was a wealth of information and knew where to find the animals we wanted to see. He was obliging in every way and extremely curious . There was nothing outside his remit he would not do for us . Our cook Haseam always delivered a beautiful meal with a tablecloth and upturned plates keeping them clean until needed . His hygiene was impeccable and we came away with no tummy upsets. We had a truly wonderful trip making life time memories that will last forever .
Suricata Safaris made our families first safari trip the most phenomenal trip of our lifetime! Every single staff member was so accommodating and welcoming. From the minute we were in their care they made sure our experience was top notch and made us feel like family. Every place we stayed at was beautiful and very clean. The food was fresh and well prepared to be delicious with every single bite. The first place we stayed at was SG Premium resort. It was beautifully decorated and the staff was wonderful. We went and walked through the Arusha market with our guides Denis and Johnny. We got to see how the people in that area sell their products and locally grown produce. When we left there we stayed at the Suricata Boma Lodge. It’s only been open for a year and it is absolutely amazing. The views of the lake and the landscape around the rooms were like no other. We also spent 2 nights in the An’gata Migration Camp and it was even more amazing! We literally stayed in luxury tents surrounded by zebras, wildebeest, hyenas and even lions! For the safari part of our trip we had a wonderful guide named Fredy. He was a wealth of information about the local culture of the Masai tribe and anything and everything that has to do with the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. He was careful with his driving but also got us where we needed to be to capture the most amazing pictures of the wildlife that Tanzania has to offer. We got the opportunity to see 4 out of the 5 Big Game animals!! Fredy also took us to visit a Masai village. It was amazing to experience first hand how this tribe lives and thrives. We will definitely be back to explore again!! Fredy was the best guide we could have ever asked for and we will definitely ask for him again and again!! Suricata Safaris deserves 10 stars for the best vacation!! Every minute with this company was unforgettable!!
What an INCREDIBLE family vacation. We went as a family of six and started in Arusha with a city store seeing the various markets, landmarks, and dinner at a local restaurant. We did our Arusha tour with Johnny and Dennis, who were so kind and detailed. We then began our private tour with our tour guide/driver Fredy. Fredy is truly an expert of the flora and fauna of the Serengeti and despite us asking a million questions he always had a thorough answer. Fredy was so kind and welcoming and the respect he has for the Serengeti was a joy to experience; his deep knowledge shows how much he cares about his craft. Next lodging: superb! We stayed at SG Premium Resort, Suricata Boma Lodge, and An’gata Migration Camp and the staff at each location went above and beyond with their service, delicious meals, and comfortable beds. The lodging choices also presented such a nice mix: Suricata Boma Lodge had a stunning view of Lake Manyara with upscale amenities giving us the perfect moment to unwind, while the An’gata Camp placed you right in the midst of all of the animals! (Of course in safe and comfortable tents). Hearing the many animals at night at the migration camp was such a unique and immersive experience that truly is a must for a safari trip. The animals we saw were countless: lions, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, rhinos, buffalo, giraffes, hippos, gazelles, impalas, zebras, crocodiles (eating wildebeests!), eagles, so many beautiful birds, etc. I could go on! My only regret is not doing a longer trip. You truly cannot go wrong with choosing Suricata Safari as your tour company and Fredy as your guide. Thank you Suricata for the greatest family vacation we’ve ever taken!
This is my 2nd safari, and I can tell you the soul of the safari is a great driver/guide. Fredy, our guide, studied wildlife and his experience and knowledge was outstanding, and he communicated through radio to make sure we got the absolute best views of animals we never thought we would see. The food experience was decllicious, with local curry and coconut dishes that other groups eating sandwiches were envious of. The accommodations by manyara (SG Premiuim resort) were high-end with amazing views, which was carefully balanced with the Anga'ta migration camp, which although was not glamours at all, we were surrounded by wildlife and an unforgettable experience. To top it off. The Suricata team through my mother a birthday party for her 60th birthday. Overall, this company was an amazing value and highly recommend Fredy and Suricata.
Suricata Safari organized an excellent 5-day private luxury safari for the two of us. We were picked up at the Kilimanjaro airport and spent the first night at Gran Melia Arusha. The hotel was excellent with friendly staff, excellent room and great food. The next day we were picked up by our tour guide, Rocky. Rocky was excellent - we could not have asked for a better guide. Over the next five days, he took us on an adventure unlike any other we have experienced. We went to Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Serengeti National Park, Olduvai Gorge and Ngorongoro Crater (Caldera). Rocky told us about the tribes, customs and history of Tanzania. Rocky has a degree in Wildlife Management and so was very knowledgeable about the animals and birds of Tanzania- not only was he able to identify the over 90 species of animals and birds we saw, he also explained the geography, habitats, and animal behavior. He was very friendly and accommodating - we would highly recommend asking for Rocky. The accommodations throughout the safari were excellent; in addition to our first night in Gran Melia Arusha, we stayed nights at the Suricata Boma lodge, Mara Mara Tented Lodge and the Ngorongoro Lions Paw Lodge. We would highly recommend staying these places- they represent the best in glamping :). My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the safari organized by Suricata and would highly recommend them!
We saw so many animals and birds on our safari. Our guide was really good at spotting the animals and was a wealth of knowledge when it comes to birds. Our chef was amazing. We had a few glitches, but Suricata did everything they could to listen to our concerns.
We had an awesome 5 day camping safari tour with 5 other people on the trip. The Suricata team hosting us on the tour were exceptional. They made sure we were comfortable, that we see us much as possible, and that we had a fantastic experience. Our driver Freddy was very knowledgeable, having studied Zoology and Tito the chef cooked up the best meals all day long. I can highly recommend the safari and the Suricata team. Great value for money.
Firstly let me just start by saying book with suricata, it was amazing, we did the 5 day safari, we saw the big 5 plus so much more. If you’re hesitant, don’t be, just book. Also ask for Mandela, he was UNREAL as a guide, such a nice guy! A more detailed review is below. Accommodation We had a really strict budget so we went for camping. Overall it was fine, functional and for how cheap it was, you can’t ask for more. At each site the tent was already put up for you (on our last day we witness another company come in and the guests put up their own tent so in hindsight we were spoilt). The tent itself included a sleeping bag, a very thin mattress and a pillow. It was really sturdy and had enough space for two people easily. Regarding each site; Twiga Honestly this is absolutely fine and actually quite good. As we did 5 days we stayed here twice. It’s basically like a patch of grass off lodges itself and it’s like gated off. The bathroom in my opinion was really well kept, had lighting, no toilet tissue (this is common) and the showers were hot (maybe too hot haha) . This was probably not really camping, it’s actually well run and kept, it’s like the perfect very low cost way to sleep for a night. There was WiFi here too (though too slow to use like instagram or even read emails, you could WhatsApp easily with it) Serengeti Serengeti and Ngorongoro this is real camping. Serengeti itself, again as before patch of grass and tents already up but there’s literally 0 electricity. Bring your torches and head torches. You are sleeping in area that animals can get to so just be smart. It’s safe, it really is but we were advised if you had to go to the toilet at night, just don’t (or pee outside your tent). The toilets were a little worse but again fine and useable. No hot showers here. The pay off for all of this is that you get an incredible sunrise and sun set, plus we saw giraffes and elephants from our tent so it is incredible. Ngorongoro Again similar to Serengeti, but there’s hot water. Apparently you can walk to a nearby site and get WiFi but we didn’t try. There is electricity here and plenty of sockets to charge your devices. There was a distinct increase in bugs at this campsite but again fine. Suricata themselves were brilliant and made camping as easy and enjoyable as possible. Food Honestly incredible. I really don’t know how chef did it. Every morning he would cook up the following; fresh crapes, toast, egg dish, sometimes fresh fruit and all the condiments you would desire. For lunch which we had during safari, there would normally be rice with 2 curries/stews and veg, maybe banana for desert. And in the evening it was more of the same but maybe a different carb of pasta or macaroni. The food was always really good, and plentiful, we were never left hungry after a meal and often did not finish the portion. If you’re a picky eater, grow up, for everyone else you’ll really enjoy it. The fact the team whipped up a meal in the middle of the Serengeti with no electricity is crazy. Safari Our guide Mandela is a TOP TOP man. He’s so nice, always smiling and so so informative. He will constantly stop and tell you about things you’ve never even thought about, the amount of facts he has and the range of facts was honestly incredible. My partner and I learnt so so much. I felt sorry for him as our group was quite international and therefore quite quiet and I know he wished we asked him more and more questions because hes just so passionate about what he does, he wants to talk about it all the time. Because of him we got the see the big 5, cheetahs, warthogs, hippos, the lot really. It was a magical experience. Mandela also made sure we had a fresh 1.5l cold bottle of water each every day, so you were always well hydrated. There is also stops to use the loo throughout and he warns of you long drives where there won’t be one so you can make sure you’re all good beforehand. The toilets in the actual park are actually so well kept, far better than any U.K. public toilet, not even close. Logistics We flew from London and arrived at KIA at 930am. We were picked up straight away with no wait by a very friends Mr T, who drove us to the hotel the other clients were staying. They very kindly waited for us and we started the safari that day. This is not what they recommend/ usually do as they usually recommend staying the night before so you are fresh and helps with logistics. Honestly if there’s a way you can maybe fly into Arusha airport (it’s closer) or get there at maybe 8am, I would 100% recommend the way we did it. Or just arrive super late. But it is possible. There’s U.K. plug sockets everywhere so be wary of that. There’s plug sockets in the safari jeep itself but my partners fast charging plug wouldn’t work so I’d opt for like an older USB U.K. 3 pin plug Make sure you take wet wipes Would recommend bug spray and repellent. Make sure you have torches We took a sleeping bag liner and I would recommend this. We actually never used the sleeping bag itself, we just slept in the liner. The ngorongoro campsite was the ONLY time we felt cold at all and therefore I’d also recommend something warm for this day. Lots of people wore proper jackets but a good hoodie and joggers would suffice. One day we finished a little early (2 members of the group did the 4 day so left), and because of this Mandela and team organised a little walking tour of the village we were staying at as we had the evening. Little touches like this show how great the company is. Would I use suricata again? 1 million percent yes Would I recommend them? I will be telling everyone to use them forever! Would I do a 5 day safari? This is such a tricky question. We were incredible lucky (lucky and Mandela is just amazing at his job) so arguably we saw everything in 3 days (2 Serengeti days and ngorongoro). So maybe we could’ve done 4 or even 3 day safari but the more days of sari you do the more of a chance you get to see animals. So maybe if I hadn’t seen a certain animal and I’d only done 3 days, I’d 100% wish I did 4 or 5. I think I’d honestly do 4, I think Lake Manyara though absolutely beautiful is not on the same level as Serengeti and ngorongoro (though we were surrounded by elephants at the lake so there’s always going to be memories by doing more safari) Would I camp again? Again this is such a tricky question. Sleeping on the Serengeti is once in a life time and really cool. But it’s obviously not the most glamorous thing and not having a proper bed or shower for 5 days can be a little annoying, but for the budget it’s more than enough. If you had a little more maybe spring for the lodges (which were apparently really good - 2 of our group stayed in lodges) or maybe do less days and lodges. But I could fault the team for the camping. It is what it is, you get to do an unreal experience at an affordable price.
We had the best time at the Safari ! Our guide Mandela could give us an answer to literally every of our questions m. He is a very passionate, cool and friendly person. Also the food was gorgeous!! Every day different dishes with fresh ingredients. It was a daily fiast :) All in all we had the best time !! Can 100% recommend!
We went on the Kilimanjaro tour and did a 5 day safari. Had the best time on the mountain with our guides Freddy and Augustin. The safari was awesome. Very luxurious camping delicious food and Mandela (guide) and James (chef) took great care of us.
The experience was simply out of this world! Rocky - our guide - was very knowledgeable and most of all a great companion throughout the whole trip. I can’t stress enough how good the food was and for that I thank Salim. Go for the 5 day experience and you will have the best days of your life.
Enzo, Maria and I really liked Very much the Safari and enjoyed it every day. The guide Roque and the cooker Luiz and his team were very friendly, helpful and professional. From the 4 campsites, only the one on the second day (Serengete), the shower had cold water. The hotels were excellent. We recommend that everyone who enjoys adventure go on a safari with Suricata Safaris in Tanzania, Africa, They are Very organized and eficiente
We had an incredible safari with Suricata Safaris and I could go on for ever but will try to keep it simple. The biggest surprise for me was that this isn't a typical run of the mill tourist venture with minimal staff training. Our cook Salim was a qualified chef and prepared 3 fresh meals a day for us. This wasn't sandwiches and packet food but fresh fruit and cooked meals at every sitting (also some very tasty traditional dishes) which made us feel like we all left a little healthier. Our guide Frederick was a complete professional and had a wealth of knowledge. It came as no surprise that he had 9 years of expierence as a guide but also had completed years of post graduate education prior to becoming a guide. His knowledge of the plants and animals was incredible and we were learning knew facts and behavioural traits of the same animals right up to the end of the safari. Not only that but his knowledge of Tanzania itself including the history, geography, the people and the politics amazed me and left me a little embarrassed by a lesser understanding of my own country Australia. Maybe others won't have the same expierence that we had as timing and a bit of luck comes into it so do your homework. Regardless of this you can't take away from the professionalism of the operation from the guides and cooks to the logistics involved behind the scenes so if you are questioning whether it's worth the money, it is. If you are as lucky as us to have an incredible guide and cook be sure to tip generiously. Why? You have to remember you are going on a multi-day safari in remote areas full of incredible but also some very dangerous animals and these people are not only responsible for your welfare but also your overall enjoyment and expierience so they are worth every cent of a generous tip. They do their job well. I would also like to suggest that you take some small notes (1$) to give to the various people behind the scenes manning the toilets and camp sites. This money not only goes a lot further for them than it does for most of us in our own respective countries but also encourages them in the work of supporting the safari industry in Tanzania for without it the wildlife and parks would cease to exist.
This 5 day safari was the adventure of a lifetime and I have absolutely NO complaints. Fred is an amazing person who is an incredibly experienced and knowledgeable guide. Our family of five were also very well fed by our friendly Chef Salim who cooked delicious food for every meal. Fred and Salim taught us much about their beautiful country and nothing was too much trouble for either of them. The entire outfit was very professional from the time we were collected by Daniel at the airport to the time we were dropped back. The opportunity to experience such a variety of wildlife in their natural habitat is something I will never forget and it was made all the more memorable by Suricata Safaris. Asante sana Fred, Salim and Daniel (from the King family 🙂)
Had an amazing safari experience through Suricata Safaris. Fred was our guide and he was a consummate professional and extremely friendly and accommodating towards myself and my family. He was very knowledgeable with the wildlife, national parks and flora/fauna. We also had Salim as our chef for the trip and he was also another consummate professional and extremely kind human being. He made us beautiful meals and also provided an exotic variety of different meals and dishes that were cooked to perfection. We really lucked out to have both Fred and Salim and I would highly recommend them for anyone wishing to experience a wholesome and informative safari adventure.
Wonderful parks made even better by our tour guide, Damien. Super friendly, kind and very knowledgeable. There was good chemistry and we trusted him throughout the journey. Thanks to him, we stayed at charming tented lodges that immersed us in the nature.
The moment you arrive in Arusha, Suricata Safari took care of us. There is nothing additional to organize for you, like shuttles from A to B, camping equipment or food. I’ve been accompanied by two age +50 family members and there had their concerns about African food, mosquitos, quality of sleeping in a tent and personal hygienes. I can tell you that all of us were fully satisfied and all concerned we had were unfounded. The safari itself is always unique and depends on what nature offers you. We were lucky and have seen everything we wanted to see. Thanks to our guide Damian and the excellent chef. I did a lot of research about several companies that offer safaris and I am happy with my decision to chose suricata safaris.
All 5 days were extraordinary, we saw 4 of the big 5 animals, we saw many animals up close, the hotels and tend camping were great with good food and the staff were very friendly and helpful. our guide Rocky was fantastic!
From booking, to the pickup at the airport - and finally during our safari, everything was super easy and professional. We had probably the best safari guide one can imagine - Rocky! He was a great driver and knew so much about the wildlife, culture, Tanzania and made sure everyone was getting the most out of their safari! I‘ll highly recommend a Safari with Rocky!
Our guide Rocky is very knowledgeable about the game and all the areas. He loves his birds which was great for us. Good company to work with 👍
I booked my safari 3 days prior and I can't be happier. The efficiency answering the emails, WhatsApps was what gave me the good feeling to book with them. It's a really good price for the service you receive. We enjoy the 5 day safari with Mandella and the wildness in its best. The hotels and lodges in the national parks and in Arusha were really good specially the new lodge SURICATA BOMA which has the best sunset views by the pool. Amazing prices, food and company. 100% recommended
The best Safari enterprise with the best guide, DAMIAN a good person, driver and expert about wild life. 5 stars to him. Thank you to be part of ours memories. Family Santos&Silva from Portugal.
Suricata was very amenable and responsive to some small changes we requested for the tour, and the service was always very professional! Our guide Ezekiel for safari was fantastic - he knew the parks like the back of his hand and how find all the animals and was so quick with bird identification too. He was intuitive on when we were ready to move on to a new spot and when to give explanations and when to quietly enjoy the animal movements. Suricata put us in their brand new Boma Lodge on Lake Manyara - it was gorgeous. Staff at all stops were very friendly and generous to give us the best experience. For example, it got very cold at night at Angata Camp at the top of Ngorongoro and there were hot water bottles put in our bed - perfect touch! Food was excellent throughout the trip. Suricata is local company and dedicated to providing a top quality service. I highly recommend them.
Suricata made my trip to Tanzania wonderful! Starting from the first contact via whatsapp with Hilary who was very polite and present every time we need or any time we had any doubt about the trip. So we arrived in Kilimanjaro airport and they picked us up, even after our flight were delaied. We made a 5 day safari with Mandela, who were a perfect guide, and Tito, who cooked every day for us a perfect meal. And at the end we received all help from Ally, who was very professional solving any kind of problem
