Day 1
1
Welcome to Tanzania! Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide and transferred to your luxury lodge in Arusha. Settle into your accommodation and relax after your international journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy the lodge's beautiful gardens, swimming pool, or spa facilities. In the evening, your guide will provide a detailed safari briefing, introducing you to the unforgettable adventure ahead.
Day 2
2
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, renowned for its giant baobab trees, breathtaking landscapes, and one of the largest elephant populations in Africa. Enjoy a full-day game drive through the park as you search for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs, and an incredible variety of birdlife. During the dry season, the Tarangire River attracts thousands of animals, making it one of Tanzania's best wildlife-viewing destinations. Pause for a scenic picnic lunch before continuing your afternoon safari. Later, drive to your luxury lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening.
Day 3
3
Spend the morning exploring this UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to one of Africa's highest concentrations of wildlife. Search for the Big Five while spotting lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, flamingos, hyenas, and the endangered black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool before continuing through the Ngorongoro Highlands into the legendary Serengeti National Park. As you enter the endless plains, enjoy an en-route game drive before arriving at your luxury tented camp in time for dinner.
Day 4
4
Spend the entire day exploring the world-famous Serengeti National Park, one of Africa's most iconic safari destinations and home to an extraordinary abundance of wildlife. Your private guide will take you across the endless plains in search of the Big Five, including lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and, with a little luck, black rhinos. You may also encounter cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, and thousands of wildebeest and zebras depending on the season. Enjoy a romantic picnic lunch in the wilderness before continuing your afternoon game drive. Return to camp in the evening for dinner beneath the stars while listening to the sounds of the African bush.
Day 5
5
Rise before dawn for one of the most unforgettable experiences of your honeymoon—a sunrise Hot Air Balloon Safari over the Serengeti. Float peacefully above the golden plains as the first rays of sunlight illuminate the landscape below. From the air, watch elephants, giraffes, antelope, and, depending on the season, the Great Wildebeest Migration. This breathtaking experience offers spectacular views and unforgettable photo opportunities. After landing, celebrate with a champagne-style bush breakfast in the heart of the Serengeti before continuing with another exciting game drive. The remainder of the day is dedicated to exploring new areas of the park and searching for more incredible wildlife.
Day 6
6
After breakfast, transfer to the nearby airstrip for your scenic flight to Zanzibar, offering breathtaking aerial views of Tanzania's landscapes. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and transferred to your luxury beachfront resort. Spend the rest of the day relaxing on the pristine white-sand beaches, swimming in the warm turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, or simply enjoying your resort's world-class facilities. As the sun sets, enjoy a romantic dinner overlooking the ocean.
Day 7
7
Today is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Relax by the beach or infinity pool, indulge in a couples' spa treatment, take a leisurely walk along the shoreline, or simply unwind in your luxurious surroundings. Optional activities such as snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, or scuba diving can also be arranged. This is the perfect day to celebrate your honeymoon in complete tranquility.
Day 8

fter breakfast, explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Stone Town, one of East Africa's most fascinating historic cities. Wander through its narrow streets while discovering centuries-old architecture, vibrant markets, ancient forts, and local artisan shops. Later, visit one of Zanzibar's famous spice farms, where you'll learn why the island is known as the "Spice Island." Smell and taste fresh cloves, cinnamon, vanilla, cardamom, nutmeg, and tropical fruits while learning about their traditional uses. In the evening, you may choose to enjoy an optional private sunset dhow cruise, sailing across the Indian Ocean as the sky turns brilliant shades of orange and gold.
Day 9
9
Enjoy another relaxing day in paradise. Spend time on the beach, swim in the crystal-clear waters, or choose from a variety of optional activities including snorkeling at Mnemba Atoll, scuba diving, dolphin watching, deep-sea fishing, or a romantic private beach picnic. As your honeymoon draws to a close, enjoy one final sunset together followed by a special farewell dinner.
Day 10
10
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast while taking in the final views of the Indian Ocean. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for one last walk along the beach before your private transfer to Zanzibar International Airport for your departure flight. The itinerary was well-arranged, the guide was very professional, and the pick-up and drop-off service was smooth and perfect.
My husband and I did a 10 day Safari and Zanzibar honeymoon through Colours Africa over the Christmas season. I did a lot of research prior to booking (shopping around, talking to many different tour groups, getting different quotes) and decided to book with Colours. All of the staff members we worked with (Godlisten, Nasra) were so incredibly helpful, flexible, and attentive prior to booking. We had several different iterations of our trip, with different dates, etc. and they were so pleasant and accomodating. Because of this and the wonderful rate we were given, we decided to book with them. They handled all of the details and bookings. Answered questions regarding travel information ahead of time. We arrived to Arusha on 12/21, and began our 5 day safari on 12/22. We visted Ngorongoro, Serengeti, and Tangerie within those 5 days. Our guide, Juma, was so incredibly helpful and knowledgable. He was such an excellent guide, and had such a great eye! We were able to see the Big 5 within our time. He also just went above and beyond with everything, including to stop and help other guides and trucks that were stuck, needed assistance, etc! The accomdations were 10/10 and the schedule was perfect for us to squeeze so many parks in a particuarly short period of time. I will say though there was some last minute changes to our accomdations that were not communicated until the day of, it would have been helpful to know about that ahead of time but everything went smoothly! Our transition to Zanzibar included a delayed flight, which is not uncommon with Tanzanian airlines. Colours helped us quickly change the flight to the next morning and rebooked our accomodations as well. Godlisten even came to meet us before we moved to Zanzibar and helped reassure us all will go according to plan. I highly reccommend booking with Colours Africa for your next safari. It was money well spent for a trip of a life time, and not once did we feel like we were overpaying. And if you can, request Juma!! He was truly the best part of our trip. We will be back!
We had a very mixed experience with Coulors Africa (CA), thankfully we had Norton who is an excellent guide. After reviewing multiple safari itineraries, we decided to book our safari with CA. The process of detailing our itinerary went well and Justin helped get us a schedule that fit what we were looking for. The problems started as soon as we arrived at the KJO airport. Our flights had been received by CA months earlier and we had been in updated contact, however when we left the terminal (at 05:30) there was no representative from CA to meet us. Not a good start....A cab eventually showed up and we arrived at the Tulia with no idea of what was next, the driver wasn't a CA employee, and he just dropped us off. The room we were given was dirty, had only one working electrical outlet, no chairs, no soap and only two hand towels, this was probably because they checked us in at about 09:00 - I don't think this was a room they typically rent out. Eventually we got ahold of CA and they had a supervisor dude come over right away and he got us into an acceptable room they gave us the timetable for the start of the safari - finally! The hotel has a good breakfast. Our safari with Norton began the next day and he was excellent. We got to see everything that we had hoped for and enjoyed Norton and his incredible abilities in spotting animals. He seemed to be genuinely welcomed everywhere we stopped. The Intimate Camps on the Serengeti were excellent and the pace of safari was very good - with one longer day of driving coming out of the Serengeti. Our main issue with CA, and Justin in particular, stems from our last day. I had asked Justin about a month before our trip if we could do the coffee tour, waterfall hike and hot springs on our final day instead of looking at monkeys. Without consulting me again, Justin changed our itinerary to accommodate my inquiry, so I was pleased and assumed that everything fit. What happened is, when we came back to Arusha and we deposited at the "African Safari Arusha" - which is actually a motel in an out of the way location to the west of Arusha. The lodgings in the black building, which we were in was very basic and very dark. At 22:30 I received a text from CA telling us that we would have to be ready to leave by 06:30, instead of 07:00. So the hotel doesn't serve breakfast until 06:30.... In the end it didn't make any difference, except upsetting us in the middle of the night, because we didn't have time for the waterfall or the hot springs! Justin had to know this and yet he pretended that everything was fine. CA had our flight reservations months in advance, and I had emphasized our mid-afternoon departure to Justin. All he had to do was just tell me back in September that the three things weren't going to fit in our last day, we could have decided what we wanted to do that was possible. Instead, we did not receive what we had paid for in regard to Arusha, thankfully we had a great safari. Spending four hours for a cup of coffee was not what we had paid for and left us very disappointed in CA. Its a shame that they made a mess of what should have been the easiest part of our trip.....
We arrived at the agency based on a recommendation from friends, and we couldn't be more grateful. We embarked on a 6-day trip through the parks of Tarangire, Manyara, Ngorongoro, and Serengeti. The time of year was perfect, as we were able to witness the migration of various animals and enjoy the cycle of nature at its best. The company was very professional, organized, and attentive to us at all times. The food and accommodations matched our expectations. Due to weather conditions, our plane landed at a different airport, but the company acted quickly and efficiently to resolve the issue, preventing us from losing a day of the tour, which was crucial for us. Special mention to our Chef Paul, who delighted us with his cooking, and to our guide Nicolas, who patiently and joyfully shared his vast knowledge about the parks, animals, and nature. Thanks to him, we were able to witness incredible moments of the life cycle in the parks, always respecting and caring for nature and the animals. I highly recommend Colours Africa Tours agency!
Our family of four went on Safari with Colours Africa for a 7 day/6 night tour (which they adapted for our requirements) at the start of June 2024. To say it was one of the best times of our lives is an understatement. From the very first email communications with Godlisten and Hamis at their Arusha based office in January 2024 to the very last minute of our trip in June they demonstrated their expertise at the business of providing an exceptional safari experience. Godlisten arranged for Eddie to pick us up from Kilimanjaro (JRO) airport and he brought us firstly to the Colours Africa office for a pre safari briefing, then to our hotel where we prepared for our safari which started the next day. This was such a bonus as it meant we had no worries about getting from JRO airport to Arusha. Eddie introduced us to our first Swahili words which turned out to be very helpful!! At daybreak on the first day of the safari, our guide Patience picked us up at our hotel and a little later we picked up our chef, Suliman and two more clients (adventurers) to complete our party of six. We already had high hopes having read such good reviews of Colours Africa but the friendship we built with these two wonderful men and our 2 fellow adventurers was an absolute highlight. Patience told us everything we needed to know about the animals and areas we were discovering and he always seemed to know exactly where we would have the best chances of us seeing the wildlife. Suliman cooked some of the most delicious local style breakfasts, lunches and dinners you will ever taste. We always had bottles of water, coke, wine or beer avalable when and if we wanted them. Each morning Patience had the jeep clean and stocked with everything we needed for another day's exploring. We spent two nights camping in the Serengeti with three days watching the amazing wildlife, a night camping on the Ngorongoro Crater and a day in the crater itself, then from hotel bases a day in Tarangire National Park and a day in Arusha National Park. We had some wonderful close encounters with the big five with some amazing close views of a variety of packs/prides of lions. We had such a good time with Patience and Suliman that is was sad to say good bye to both of them but for the 7th day of our odyssey we had a new guide Allen. Another very nice character and true gentleman. During the morning Allen took us to see the Materuni Falls at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro giving us all sorts of information from how the Banana tree grows to stories about the local folk and the mountain (which is fully within Tanzania!). Following a delicious lunch made by the locals in Materuni Village we spent a very entertaining afternoon learning everything about growing, roasting, grinding and making coffee with Justin and some of the villagers before Allen dropped us to our hotel in Moshi and an amazing week came to an end. During the week when we had arrived back at our hotel base in Arusha following the first four days of our trip we had a surprise visit from Hamis just to check how everything was going. We thought this was a very nice gesture and reinforced the professionalism of their operation. All in all a truly unforgettable experience!! Many many thanks to Godlisten, Hamis, Patience, Suliman, Allen, Justin and Eddie for providing so many wonderful and unforgettable memories.
We enjoyed our Safari very much ! We had a wonderfull Guide who spotted a lot of animals all days long ! Car had power to charge phones so we were able to make photos without any restrictions of all the animals we encountered ! Hotels and Camps were nice, we loved to hear wildlife during the nights ! Thanks again for the week Colours Africa !
We had an amazing trip! We booked with Hamis who was extremely helpful and even provided us with a Car and driver at the end of our trip to take us out to dinner in Arusha and transport us to the Airport the next day with shopping on route! Our Driver Benjamin was the best, very knowledgeable and you were guaranteed the best spot to view the game! Thank you to all the chefs for providing delicious picnics. We stayed at some amazing places. I would recommend Colours Africa anytime.
Had the best time, Livin was our guide and Hamisis our cook, the food was sooo tasty and Livin was such an informative guide and always up for a laugh. Saw some amazing animals would recommend 100%
What an AMAZING safari experience! Well organized, professionally managed and stress free tour with all big 5! BEST Tour Organizer : We had brief discussion about my tour day before my safari which helped me trust him more. He was very quick responder so I had all my questions answered when I was in the US. BEST Safari Driver/Guide: Livin Macha is very expert in wild life. He drove extra miles to show us all the animals with a right angel. We saw all big 5! BEST Service : Food, camps, lodges and crew - everything was perfect! I had best time in camp site sleeping with lions roaring sound. Lodging was clean, with hot water shower and towels. Staff was kind, considerate towards our request. We had extra sleeping bags and mattresses - I used them because it got cold in campsite. Water was supplied. BIG 5 : saw all big 5, even Rhino! Chita hunting dear, loins hunting dears, failed hunting act by crocodile but chase was very good etc. Colours Africa managed our group very well, we became family and last day was very emotional with our guide. Watching wild animals from so close was the best life experience I could have. Extra Service: Godlisten was very flexible in adjusting my itinerary. He provided me car pick-up and drop off for my adhoc request. STRONGLY recommended Safari tour. In Tanzania, you need perfectly organized tour to have best experience.
We couldn't have hoped for better. The organization was perfect from start to finish. Everything was thought out so that we could make the most of the experience. Our guide Norton was excellent. He always did a lot to make sure we could enjoy all the wonders the region had to offer. His driving was impeccable and safe, even on treacherous roads and in the morning fog of Ngorongoro. Our chef Pasco is a top cook as well as being a wonderful person. Always taking care of us. His breakfasts were essential to get through the long days. And what a pleasure it was to be able to enjoy his delicious meals after a long day. A unforgettable experience thanks to the unbelievable staff !
My girlfriend and I have always dreamed of doing a safari. There are hundreds of tour companies out there that offer various and similar tours and it is very difficult to determine which offer the best service. Right from the start when I sent my initial enquiry the Colours Africa team were responsive giving me a very customised itinerary. I told the team what I wanted out of the trip they gave a base plan which was modified as time went on. I noticed that they were not the cheapest and not the most expensive ion comparison to my other enquiries but I assure you they are definitely worth paying for. Unfortunately our luggage was lost by the airline so we arrived in Arusha with no luggage. Colours Africa went to every effort to help us locate it and even offered to have the luggage delivered 2 hours to us in the national park if it turned up. Unfortunately it did not arrive in Arusha until the last day. We were placed in the hands of Benjamin, our guide and driver for the 5 days and our chef Solomon. Right from the word go Benjamin was very in tune with exactly what we were looking for on the safari. He knew all of the National Parks like the back of his hand and constantly ensured that we were looked after. He made every effort to stay away from the hoards of jeeps whilst still always making sure we saw every animal. We even set him missions (jokingly) to see specific animals which he always completed. He even completed the mission to find us a lion hunt. I would say that Benjamin went out of his way to ensure that we were comfortable and felt looked after and despite the incredibly long hours he worked he always smiled and wanted to joked with us. To finish he even took us to the airport to collect our long lost baggage. Solomon was the joker of the group. He is a very funny guy and a talented chef. I still miss his early morning pancakes. We were especially keen to try local Tanzanian food which he cooked perfectly but always provided western alternatives. Me being greedy would always eat both. Solomon would always ensure that we were comfortable and well fed. The safari itself was one of the most incredible things I've experienced. I saw everything that I wanted to see and am thrilled to have spent time in the Serengeti. The facilities are far cleaner than I expected. Having travelled a lot in many countries around the world I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the facilities. The jeep was very comfortable and I was blown away by the sheer number of animals, especially Lions. My tip would be to make sure that you spend 2 nights at least in the Serengeti. It's so vast that you will only scratch the surface by staying a single night. If you can handle roughing it make sure you camp as it offers an extra experience to sleep under the clear Serengeti stars and listen to the wild animals during the night I would 100% say that Benjamin and Solomon made an incredible experience into something extra special and I'm pleased to call them both my friends after this. If you do choose to do this tour with Colours Africa make sure you request Benjamin and Solomon and make sure you give them a nice tip at the end as they both deserve it. Thank you to the whole Colours Africa team Roshan and Laura
Colours Africa provided an amazing experience for us. They would always reply quickly to any queries and tried their best to accommodate any special wishes where possible. They were very helpful outside of the tour booked with them as well. The tour itself was well balanced, our guide super friendly and knowledgeable. The cook who came with us was incredibly good and let us experience Tanzanian cuisine at its tastiest! The only very small downside: we could actually not take out big backpacks on the tour but had to leave them behind at the hotel and could only take a small backpack each for a trip of six days. I would have preferred to know about that beforehand. But all in all a great company that I definitely recommend!
I booked a relatively last minute safari with Colours (4 weeks out) and changed dates a couple of times. I booked as a single and they worked me into a group which made 6 total. They accommodated every change I made without question. Godlisten met me at my hotel the day prior to departure and went over all the details for my upcoming adventure, also explaining why a hotel was changed (due to feedback!) The new hotel was great, comfortable and secure, not 5 star but what do you expect on a safari? Camping accommodations were as expected, but camping with a dining hall was great! Our guide, Noton, is very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. He has been in the business for many years and has a deep knowledge of all the flora and fauna and had answers for every question asked without fail. Saw all the big 5…. But no guarantees. Our chef, Sula, prepared lovely local dishes that everyone enjoyed and was able to accommodate requests as needed. My safari experience was amazing, I would 100% recommend Colours without any reservation. Great job!! I would recommend their service to anyone!
Highly recommend this company. I did 6 days safari and everything was good. The owner answered all questions. They picked us in airport on time, and in last day the same. The tour guide - Norton - was really nice, with 20 years of experience. He knew how to answer all our questions. The food was fresh and with variety. Sule is really gentle, and did me a birthday cake while we were camping.
We traveled to Tanzania for our Honeymoon. I got in touch with many tour operators ahead of it. All communications with Colours Africa Tours & Safaris were great (very responsive) and they gave me very good advices. I went ahead with them and our experience was even better than expected. Everybody was very friendly, doing their best to make this trip one the best of our life and it was thanks to them. I can only recommend them 150%. On top I think this is very great to help small companies like Color's Africa and Safaris compare to the big operators - you will feel very special and not a clients among others. Thanks again to Hamis & all his team and to our guide Lucas.
We will remember this trip our whole life. We were 5 people including a teenager and we went to Tarangire, Serengeti, Nogorongoro and Manyara. We saw the big five and so many animals and beautiful birds: thousands of zebras, gnous, girafes, buffalos, waterbucks, lions, hyenas, ostriches, baboons, blue monkeys, velvet monkeys, warthogs, impalas, gazelles, and even leopards and a cheetah eating an animal in the grass, and a rhino. The period was the beginning of the great migration (end of October, beginning of November), and we could see herds running down the hills, crossing the road, just like in films :-). And the cherry on the cake during this journey was definitely our guide, Kindu, and our chef, Sule. Kindu is a super driver, very careful, and a very generous, reliable and kind man: he told us a lot of stories about the animals, the plants and the birds that we saw and he did everything to make this trip enriching and unforgettable. He even speaks Chinese! And Sule prepared such delicious dishes! It was a chance to have warm food from breakfast till dinner, cooked every day, with fresh ingredients, different every day, and not have lunch boxes at all. It was very comfy and welcoming to share these moments with both of them. If you want to sleep among impalas and zebras, eat delicious food and make a unique trip, ask Godlisten, the super organiser, to call Kindu and Sule!
We had an incredible experience on our 4 day Safari! From the start, Hamis was kindly answering all our questions and then even helped us to book a flight after as we had to start our safari experience a day later than planned but he was very accommodating. We were a lucky group and managed to see all the big 5 animals! We had very close encounters with zebras, lions, elephants and even had a spectacular moment watching a cheetah take its prey up a tree. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves animals and wildlife. A huge shoutout to our driver and tour guide Kundu who had such knowledge of animals and was able to answer all of our questions and he had incredible sight of spotting some of the animals from a far distance. Our chef Richard who cooked up some lovely warming meals whilst we were out camping and then even turned into a mechanic when we had some vehicle trouble. Our whole experience was amazing and we are thankful to all those who helped make it happen.
We did the 4 day safari (Tarangiere, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater) and 1 day Materuni Waterfalls (so no Manyara!)). We can definitely recommend this tour! The tour is a great mix of 'original' gamedrive safari (4 days) and cultural experience at the Materuni Waterfalls and the Coffee Farms (1 day). During the Safari Days our guide Benjamin did great effort to show us the best spots to see the various animals and we were lucky to see spectacular wildlife scenes! We saw all the animals we wanted to see, even lions hunting and a lioness while eating - we missed to see the Rhino though - can't always be lucky :) Our chef Eric was a great cook and took care of our physical well-being. :) You have to be aware though, that this is a budget tour and camping in a tent the middle of the Serengeti is certainly not made for everyone. I loved it though and that was another once-in-a-lifetime experience. Don't forget to bring headlights, powerbanks and warm clothes as well for the night! The one day at Materuni Waterfalls was also great - Joel was a funny guide and we had a great day to see how coffee is originally made - and we even could participate in making our own coffee to drink afterwards. The coffee actually was sensetional and also it was great to learn a little bit more about the culture of the people around Kilimanjaro. After drinking our coffee, we made a 30 minutes hike to Materuni Waterfalls a cool plae to hang out and finished the day with a buffet of local food which was served at the Coffee Place. All in all a very great day!
Incredible experience - highly recommend it! Well organised, delicious food, lots of animals and great opportunity to immerse in the local community. Unique experience to be around wildlife. The staff is super friendly, very helpful and knowledgeable about the animals and area.
Our guide was Kindu. He was so good at finding the right spots to go and the right stops to stop. Even when an animal sighting was swarmed by other cars, he always found the right place to park. We did a 2 day safari of Tarangire and Ngotongoro Crater. We got to see 4 of the 5 big 5 and it included lunch.
The safari was excellent, really really good, everything, game drives, hotels, food, chef, driver and guide awesome 🙌🏼. We've visited Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngoromgoro and Taranguire. Everything was perfect, one of the best experiences in a lifetime!
We had such a great time on our safari. Hamisi helped us in advance with the organization. Since it was a private tour we were able to customize it to make the best out of it. The communication was very good. We always got very quick answers and everything was organized even our request of adding a zip line tour on our way was done by Hamisi and the driver. So we really didnt have to worry about anything. The day before we started, Hamisi came by at our hotel to go through everything and give us some final information. On the first day we went to a one-day hiker to kilimanjaro. It was nice to at least get a little taste of what it is like going up there. Our guide Michael was very competent and told us lots of stories. The hike up to mandara hut was shorter than expected. There we got some lunch boxes. After that we also went to see a crater close by before heading down. The way back almost took us as long as the hike up. But we enjoyed the rainforest like area. Our driver was already awaiting us and drove us back to the hotel. The next day we were picked up by Benjamin who was our driver for the safari. He was so kind and entertaining. We loved his stories about his safari experiences and also his life and enjoyed playing card games in the evenings with him. We drove to Tarangire National Park and had a game drive and our lunch there. We spotted lots of elephants, giraffes and many more. Afterwards we headed to Fig Tree Lodge for the overnight stay. There we got a huge dinner. The next day we had our additional zip line tour we wanted to add by ourselves which was organized by Colours Africa Tours. Afterwards we picked up our chef and drove altogether through ngorongoro conservation site with nice view point to olduvai gorge were we went through the museum there and got a short overview from a guide there. Meanwhile the lunch was prepared there. Afterwards we headed to Serengeti national park where we arrived in the late afternoon and had a beautiful game drive with the early evening sun while driving to the public campsite. There our chef Collin prepared our dinner and we got help by building up our tent from a local guy at the campsite. Dinner was amazing. We always had great food. Collin really did a great job in those small kitchens. The next day, we drove to the northern part of Serengeti to spot the great migration. It was a long drive but it ws definitely worth it and a major highlight for us. We had a nice breakfast picnic on the way. Then we were so lucky to spot the large groups of wildebeest and zebras wandering through the area. We even spotted them crossing Mara river twice that day. And we also saw crocodiles attacking them. It was a very impressive experience we will never forget. Afterwards we drove back to the campsite where Collin awaited us with an amazing dinner. The next day we had a sunrise game drive through the center of Serengeti and a nice brunch back at the camp before we left Serengeti to drive back to ngorongoro. There we went to simba campsite for overnight. The next day we had our sunrise game drive in the crater. That was also amazing since we very one of the first cars entering. There are so many different kinds of animals on such a small spot at once (compared to Serengeti). Afterward we enjoyed again a delicious brunch and headed to Arusha where our next driver brought us to a hotel in Moshi to have the last day at Materuni village. Something must have gone wrong here since the hotel staff didn't know anything about our arrival there. But everything was fixed quickly and we got a room to stay. However, I guess we missed some information on the details of the next days so we had not the perfect clothing but in the end it was fine. The waterfall looks nice but you need to make sure you have good shoes with you since the way is very slippery. The people at Materuni village were so nice and took their time to show us everything although we were quite early there. We enjoyed a nice hot lunch with local food and headed to the hot springs. After that we were brought to the airport right in time for us to catch our flight. All in all, we had a great time with Colours Africa Tours. The tour fitted perfectly to us. It was diversified and entertaining since we had so many different parts with kilimanjaro, safari and materuni. In the planning process the focus was on safari so we were missing some information on the other 2 parts like for example good shoes and reusable water bottles since there are no plastic bottles allowed at kilimanjaro. But everything still could be organized. Our drivers, guides and chef were all very kind and had lots of stories to tell. We definitely would recommend this tour.
Excellent customer service. Friendly and super helpful staff. Such a fun and magical Tanzania experience. From the moment I first sent an email inquiry the company was very responsive and thorough. They were so patient with my fluctuating dates making sure my trip would be accommodated in its entirety. I had a very difficult time finding an agency who could accommodate me as a solo traveler. Colours was one of a very few that I finally found, with very competitive pricing! My driver/guide Amani was AMAZING, as was our excellent cook Adam, and coordinators Hamis and G! I felt so safe and taken care of the entire time as a solo female traveler, and the crew went above and beyond to make my birthday trip extra special with a surprise cake, and even helping with the disaster of my lost luggage (thanks JFK and KLM airlines 🫤). I would 100% book with Colours again, and your should too! This particular package was perfect for someone who is very adventurous and outdoorsy!
Colors Africa will be your best choice if you would like to have a 5plus star Safari experience in Tanzania. Let me give a short brief about them and their services: Contact and negotiation: They are really friendly and you can reach them via eg. WhatsApp almost all the day. There was really a lot questions from me, but they always answered with a friendly style. If you are searching for the most correct safari company, then they will be your choice! Airport pick-up and drop-off: Our shuttle started in time always, we never had to wait. Safari driver: Best driver ever. He could speak english really good, he was funny, and he was for us. Always found the best spots for stalking the animals. Also he is a really focused and good driver, so we were in safe in all the time. Accomodation and food: If you are in a safari then you should not expect a hotel or something, because this is an adventure and not a leisure time. So according to this, every accomodation was really good, comfortable, safe and fun. Simba camping has an incredible atmosphere, you should try that! The food was perfect and colorful (I mean varied and wide range of types), what is unbeliveable in the middle in nowhere! And the chef…he is a really reliable and funny guy! I could learn a lot of words and expressions from him! Safari experience in all: This kind of adventure what they could create for us is really a 5 star and lifelong experience. They are kind and reliable, I have a personal relationship with the manager Godlisten, who is a really correct, funny and reliable person, he organized the perfect honeymoon experience for us. All in all, I should say thank you for this unforgetable 5+ star safari service what the Colors Africa could provide to us.
SIMON is an amazing 5* safari guide, exceptional subject knowledge, total respect for the animals, enthusiastic and funny. JACQUELINE at Twiga Lodge made us feel special FAUSTINE(personal chef) made the best soup ( pumpkin ) ever. Godlisten/ Colours Africa provide an exceptional service for a very reasonable price! We would unreservedly recommend them! 5*
Just returned from a life-changing safari with the team from Colours Africa. I planned my trip on very short notice and they were incredibly helpful, totally flexible, and reliably communicative. As a solo traveler, I took a lot of comfort in knowing that Colours was there to assist as needed with any changes I wanted to make during my trip: lodging, flight schedules, add-ons. Having that support on the ground is key. The safari itself was incredible. Delicious food, knowledgeable guides, and more animals than I could’ve imagined. Colours Africa also did a particularly excellent job assembling a group of like-minded travelers for our adventure, which was really impressive. They literally did their research to make sure I was being put with people I’d likely get along with — which wasn’t something I’d requested or mentioned, Colours is just thoughtful like that. It made a memorable experience that much more special.
What a great experience! Thank you so much to Godlisten and Hamis, the tour operators, for being constantly available to help and answer questions and for organizing an incredible safari trip, with add ons that included a day trek up Kilimanjaro and visiting a Maasai village and seeing Materuni Waterfalls and a coffee tour. Godlisten even traveled four hours roundtrip just to drop off a camera for me, and I don’t know when they sleep because they’re seemingly available 24/7 by phone or WhatsApp. I did the camping option and even though some of the lodges are absolutely stunning, I have no regrets because tent camping in the middle of the Serengeti was once in a lifetime! Plus you’re on the road so much it’s not like you have a ton of time to lounge around at the lodges anyways. Huge props to our safari guide Simon who was simultaneously a pro driver and navigator, expert wildlife naturalist, historian and cultural ambassador, and overall just a fun and lovely person who was soooo determined to find wildlife for us (which he did extremely well, we saw the Big Five and then some). Also a big thank you to the other guides and cooks along the way: Godfrey, Andrew, Michael/Makori, Seth. They all made the experience unforgettable!
This safari experience completely delivered. I have been on safaris in other African countries, but the parks in Tanzania are still completely special in the density of the wildlife and the varying landscapes. Despite the intense schedule of visiting four parks in five days, the guides managed to find every type of animal on the wish list including playful lion cubs and black rhino. The camping equipment provided was comfortable and efficiently set up, and meals were delicious. Godlisten, who organized the tour, did an excellent job with some complicated logistics and was extremely available for assistance. I don't know if I will return to Tanzania, but I would absolutely use this company again if I do.
We had the BEST experience of our lives. Many thanks for Colour Africa and BENJAMIN our guidance tour. Colours Africa was perfect since the very beggining. The communication works very well by email or Whatsapp. All the details were very clear, and they treated us VERY well. You can definetely rely on this agency. We were on our honey moon and we highly recommend the PRIVATE TOUR, you will get so much privacy, confort and a 100% personalized tour which you provide to you the BEST pictures and experience. Picnics, lodges, hotels... there is no word to explain was perfect everything went. Benjamin was our guidance tour and he is the best! He did everything to give us the best experience possible. He is a very nice person, who knew all the details about the animals and the savannah, he also speaks good english and knows the parks very well. He would even take the best pictures from my own cellphone. He is also a good driver and gave our space when needed. He teached us even to sign and a lot of words in Swahili. He definitely made our trip unforgettable and we highly recommend his service. ASANTE SANA BENJAMIN AND COLOURS AFRICA!
Our Safari was an absolut blast. As soon as we landed everything was organized perfectly from pick up at the airport till drop off after the safari. Our tour organizer Godlisten replyed instantly to all our questions and did an amazing job. We did 2 nights in serengeti, one at the crater rim and on our last day we visited tarangire NP. We would recommend everyone to do at least 2 nights in serengeti to really enjoy the beauty of that place. It cannot be described in words, you have to go and see for yourself. When you go ask for Eliah as a guide, he was the best guide we could have wished for. You could really feel the passion about his job. We were always the first to head out for game drives and the last ones to come back as he was so keen to show us everything from the big five to the smallest birds. Also ask for Sule as your chef, same goes for him. He loved to cook for us and shared all his amazing recepies with us. His pancakes in the morning are out of this world. Overall there was not a single thing to complain about. We will definetly come back. Thanks to all who made this experience so unique for us.
Hamisi and his team are incredible!! I have travelled with a lot of tour companies around the world, and this company was by far the best, professional, most hospitable company I’ve ever worked with. Affordable and amazing service. Our flights got cancelled and it affected our original itinerary with Colours of Africa, and Hamisi and his team were quick to help us reschedule our experience and help us sort our new flights out. Very responsive and quick with replies, and honestly just such genuine people! We loved our tours and safari, they were so personalized and helped us make the most of our experience there. It was lovely to build relationship with them as well as such kind people. We were able to completely customize our experience to the safaris and experiences we wanted! We did a 2 day tour, safari to Ngorongoro Crater, and Chemka Hot Spring, Materuni Waterfall, Coffee Tour. I can only say positive things about this company! I recommend it to anyone thinking about which company to use, you won’t regret booking through Colours of Africa. This is the company you want to work with! Thank you for the memories!😊
We had an amazing experience in Tanzania thanks to Colours Africa Team. This trip was well beyond our expectations and is one of the most beautiful trip I've made so far! Colours Africa helped us to plan our trip according to our expectations and wishes. They answered all our questions very quickly and perfectly organized our 7 days of travel according to our requests. We did 1 day hike kilimanjaro, 1 day Materuni village, watefalls and hotsprings and 5 days of safari - Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Manyara. They picked us up from the airport and took care of us perfectly. All our guides were young, friendly and very dynamic. They have a lot of knowledge and answered all our questions about fauna, flora, animals, landscapes and Tanzania. The cook prepared very good and varied dishes every day. Thanks again to Francis, Emmanuel, Nasri, Lucas, Nathanael and Colours Africa Team! I can't recommend them highly enough!!
We did a 5-day Safari visiting Tarangire NP, Manyara NP, Ngorongoro & Serengeti NP. Everything was fully arranged from day 1. The pick up from the airport was on time and our driver picked us up at the hotel right in time the day after. Then our adventure started. Besides the enormous beauty of this country and the fully filled national parks, we were so blessed to do the trip with our guide Lu Kim. We really had a lot of questions about Flora & fauna, landscape, culture, food, etc. and he could answer everything. His knowledge is really good and you can really feel that he loves his country and has very good knowledge about it. Every day was an adventure. Together we spotted all the interesting animals and the BIG FIVE. We did a cultural visit to the Massai and even a cultural tour to Mto Wa Mbu. For me, it felt like the people were extra friendly to us because of the friendliness of Lu Kim. We laughed, we sang and we really had a good time with our friend :) THANK YOU AGAIN 4 EVERYTHING LU KIM. Everything was wonderful and incredible. This was the best holiday ever! I just have one tip for you: don't hesitate if Godlisten didn't answer asap to your mails. The communication is very low sometimes. But you can rely upon that everything is fully organized and that you will have the best time of your life. Do not forget Africa is different than Europe. So everything is POLE POLE and HAKUNA MATATA! :) :) :)
My friends and I (a group of 6) had a wonderful safari trip with Colours Africa Tours at the end of this November. Before the trip, I've contacted a number of safari companies via email, Godlisten from Colours Africa was the more responsive one. He kindly accommodated to most of my requests and patiently answered all my questions. The vehicle offered to us is a comfortable land cruiser, equipped with a fridge and unlimited drinking water. Our guide Lu Kim is very nice, he speaks good English and knows the roads in the parks very well, and most importantly, he knows where to find the games! In 5 days, we've seen all Big 5 (it's a pity we've only seen a rhino in Ngorongoro from far far away) and all kinds of amazing wildlife, including mating lions! Whenever we talked about some game we haven't seen yet, Lu Kim will find for us, he even found us a lion sleeping on a huge rock because we couldn't stop singing Circle of Life. He is fun to talk to, also taught us some fun Swahili. It's such a wonderful memory and I really look forward to visiting Tanzania again, and I would recommend Colours Africa Tours and Safaris to everyone.
We loved the people and the incredible Serengeti and Tanzanian scenery, and most of all, the animals. Lions! and elephants! and giraffes! and hippos! and water buffalo! The ever-present tail-wagging gazelles, zebras, baboons, monkeys, crocodiles. Amazing birds. The wildebeest migration. Holy cow! Our Colours Africa guide Lu Kim was both professional and very entertaining, and personable. He knew where to find all the animals, and brought us as close as could be without disturbing them. He also was a wealth of regional information, and his English was excellent. Our chef, Noel prepared great meals, both Tanzanian and western, every day. Also, maybe less noticeable, but very, very important, the logistics provided by the Colours Africa Tours staff were impeccable. Arranging for airport pickup, all transfers prepaid, all park fees are taken care of. The hotels were quite good. This was a great trip, and we can't praise Colours Africa Tours and Safaris enough.
Timely and on-point communication: Godlisten provided all necessary details, was always available on WhatsApp, helped with the shuttle and accommodation. Safari itself: David (our guide and driver) has 12 years of experience and knows every corner of parks in Tanzania, is super fun and upbeat, knowledgeable and reliable. We saw a great diversity of birds and animals, including the Big 5. David took time to stay with the animals and observe them so that we not only see them but could witness a little chapter from their lives. If you stay in one place for a while, you start noticing how animals interact. It's like a wildlife theatre: if you just take a picture and go you'll miss out on the often captivating plot. We also had a couple of early game drives (leaving before 6AM), which are the best, as you get to see animals active before the midday heat kicks in and draws them to a shade. - Food and drinks: Safari crew made sure we always had 3 meals per day, always well prepared. There also always was plenty of water, beer, and wine - so we were not short on liquids either. - Cost: I think Safari was perfectly priced, it is an excellent value for money, many times cheaper than the private safari. - Accommodation: No concerns here either. We spent 2nights in strong spacious tents and 2 nights in a lodge. Tents are amazing, as you stay literally in the middle of the park, with wildlife sounds surrounding you at night. It's a very cool experience. - There were also binoculars provided. I also emailed around 20 other companies before committing to Colours Africa, so can confidently say that Colours Africa Tours compares very favourably to other offerings which are available. No regrets and strongest recommendations!
Very satisfied. I and my girlfriend did a 5 days group safari on October starting from Arusha and visiting the Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti National Park Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara. The driver Lu Kim has been excellent. Congratulations to him for disponibility, style of driving, passion for his work and willingness to let us see all the animals even waking up earlier than the others to have best opportunities to catch the right shot. Congratulations also to the chef Noel, available to every kind of request and for preparing us very good meals along the way. Congratulations to the organization all. Colours Africa Tours and Safaris.
It was just magical, the guide was excellent, Serengeti and Ngorongoro were my favorite places. Thanks to Godlisten for your professionalism.
