This was REALLY helpful and informative. It ran automatically when the app was open and I was driving in the area. It always knew where i was. It was the expertise of a higher paid travel guide but at my own time and pace. An excellent option at an affordable price! It filled in nicely around our scheduled activities and the weather, both of which changed a little bit during our stay.

Itinerary
Begin your Sedona adventure just south of Flagstaff at I-17 Exit 337, following the signs for AZ-89A South toward Sedona. From here, the drive gradually leaves the Flagstaff area behind and heads through vast ponderosa pine forests toward the dramatic landscapes of Oak Creek Canyon.
Enjoy panoramic views across Oak Creek Canyon before beginning the descent toward Sedona. This is an excellent first stop for photos and a chance to appreciate the scale of the canyon from above. A small Native American crafts market may also be available here.
One of the most scenic hiking areas in Oak Creek Canyon, West Fork follows the creek beneath towering canyon walls and through a lush, tree-lined landscape. The full outing is about 6.5 miles round trip, but you can simply walk a shorter section and turn back whenever you like. Expect several creek crossings along the way.
One of Oak Creek Canyon's most popular stops, Slide Rock is known for its natural sandstone water slide and swimming area. You can also explore the historic Pendley Homestead, old apple orchard, original buildings, and several short hiking trails.
This historic area marks the site of Sedona's first Anglo settlement, established by John James Thompson in 1876. Today you can find a historic general store as well as the Oak Creek Visitor Center, with maps, hiking information, restrooms, souvenirs, and Red Rock Pass information.
A favorite local swimming and picnic spot along Oak Creek, Grasshopper Point offers a quieter alternative to Slide Rock. Visitors can wade in the creek, relax beside the water, or watch adventurous swimmers cliff jump into the pools below.
This graceful single-span bridge provides one of the most photogenic stops along Oak Creek Canyon. A short walk from the Huckaby Trailhead leads to an overlook with a great angle of the bridge, while a longer hike descends toward Oak Creek.
Stop by one of Sedona's long-standing centers for local art. The complex includes galleries, workshops, and classrooms where you can browse ceramics, paintings, sculptures, and other works while experiencing Sedona's creative side.
Uptown is the best part of Sedona to explore on foot, with restaurants, cafés, galleries, souvenir shops, and beautiful views of the surrounding red rocks. Take some time to stroll the main streets, grab a bite to eat, or browse the local stores and galleries.
Discover the stories of Sedona's early homesteaders and ranchers inside the historic Jordan Family Homestead. Exhibits include a stagecoach, an old apple packing shed, local winemaking history, and a historic railroad depot once used during the filming of Angel and the Badman.
Fantastic views across Sedona and the surrounding landscape await you here. A 3.5-mile hike circles the mesa and provides full 360-degree views, but you don't need to complete the whole trail to enjoy the scenery.
Set beneath Thunder Mountain, this peaceful Tibetan Buddhist site offers a quiet place for reflection among juniper trees and colorful prayer flags. The park includes the 36-foot Amitabha Stupa, the smaller White Tara Stupa, a Buddha statue, and a Native American medicine wheel.
Devil's Bridge is Sedona's largest sandstone arch and one of its most photographed natural landmarks. The roughly 4-mile round-trip hike includes some scrambling and allows adventurous visitors to walk onto the top of the dramatic rock arch.
This trailhead provides access to one of Sedona's most popular canyon areas. From here, you can choose anything from a short walk to the vortex and Kachina Woman formation to a much longer exploration deep into Boynton Canyon.
Enjoy a scenic 7-mile drive through some of West Sedona's classic red-rock scenery. The route passes Red Rock State Park, Crescent Moon, several hiking areas, and excellent viewpoints of Cathedral Rock.
Set along Oak Creek, this state park is a peaceful place to enjoy nature and look for wildlife including deer, javelinas, coyotes, birds, and other desert species. The visitor center includes exhibits on local wildlife, ecosystems, geology, and the area's earliest inhabitants.
This is one of the classic places to photograph Cathedral Rock, especially when its red spires are reflected in the waters of Oak Creek. The area is also popular for picnicking, swimming, fishing, and relaxing beside the creek.
This short and relatively easy trail leads to excellent views of Cathedral Rock without requiring a long hike. At less than half a mile each way, it is a great option for travelers looking for impressive scenery with a smaller time commitment.
Explore a beautiful Mexican-inspired village filled with courtyards, fountains, archways, galleries, jewelry shops, restaurants, and a small chapel. Its distinctive architecture and shaded walkways make it a relaxing place to browse, eat, and experience Sedona's artistic character.
The first paved mile of Schnebly Hill Road offers a taste of one of Sedona's famous backcountry routes. At the end of the paved section, you can park near the Munds Wagon Trailhead, where even a short walk leads to panoramic red-rock views.
Built directly into Sedona's red sandstone formations, the Chapel of the Holy Cross is one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. Its striking modern design and dramatic setting make it worthwhile whether you visit the chapel itself or simply admire the structure and surrounding scenery.
Get an up-close look at one of Sedona's most famous formations. The approximately one-mile out-and-back hike climbs toward the base of Cathedral Rock, gaining more than 500 feet and providing spectacular views back across Sedona. Cathedral Rock is also the site of one of Sedona's four major vortexes.
Two of Sedona's most recognizable formations rise side by side here. You can take an easy one-mile round-trip hike toward the base of Bell Rock or choose the longer 4-mile loop around Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte.
As you travel through the village, enjoy excellent views of Courthouse Butte and Bell Rock rising ahead of you. Oak Creek Village also offers restaurants, shops, golf courses, and convenient places to stop for food or fuel before continuing south.
A useful final stop for learning more about Sedona's landscape and the surrounding national forest. Inside you'll find exhibits on local geology and ecosystems, an introductory film, a native plant and hummingbird garden, maps, souvenirs, and information about exploring the Red Rock area.

My husband and I loved this audio tour from Flagstaff to Sedona it touched on all the important spots and we loved the history along the way The narrator was super funny and informative and we actually enjoyed this more than the $300 tour we paid for the Grand Canyon! In the future we are only going to book audio tours, it was so nice to go at our own pace and the value for money is crazy at only$14! We will definitely look for them again.
Great in depth commentary to make the drive super interesting and time flies. Will be getting one for every driving trip.
Super informative and easy to use. I dont travel without them when driving through US. Makes trip go fast.
Audio tour of Sedona self drive. Very informative, good directions, easy to follow
We had printed a copy of the tour off of the website. The downloaded tour did not follow the website. We were using the print version as a look ahead. That sort of interface could have worked better.
We recently used a recorded, GPS‑triggered driving tour in Sedona, and it was absolutely perfect for the way we travel. The guide monitored our location as we drove, so every story, landmark, and viewpoint popped up right at the moment we were passing it. It felt like having a local expert in the car with us—without needing to plan, research, or stop and read signs. Because we only had a short window to explore Sedona, this format was a lifesaver. We were able to see the major highlights, learn the history and geology, and hear fun local insights while still moving at our own pace. The narration was clear, engaging, and easy to follow, even with the stunning red rock scenery competing for our attention. One of the best parts is that the tour is now downloaded on our device, so we can use it again on our next trip. Sedona has so much to take in, and we’re excited to revisit the stops we loved and explore the ones we didn’t have time for. This is exactly the kind of travel tool that makes a quick trip feel full and meaningful. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a flexible, informative, and beautifully curated way to experience Sedona from the comfort of their own vehicle.
This program was very confusing. It was unclear where you were going. It took me hours to figure out where we were going but once we did it was fine. The dialogue was great. I didn't realize that if you blew up the map you could see the names of the sites.
Great tour! Easy to use, great tips and fun narration. I would prefer a few more stories and fun facts, but otherwise perfect! It’s so inexpensive and I loved that it took us to the starting point of Scenic byway. Misses this incredible view last time into Sedona because his takes you a different (less gorgeous) way in from HWY17.
Read the tips & help files. They tell you how to get hooked up to your car and start the tour. After that it's pretty much automatic.
Great flexibility and awesome directions. Information permanent but not overwhelming.
Brilliantly narrated! Loved the voice over… we learned so much. It’s great if you have limited time for the sites and are travelling with a 1 year old!
First timers to Sedona and Red Rocks…the guide was so helpful, easy and informative.
Loved the audio tour commentary as we drove through Sedona on our way to the Grand Canyon. Pointed out great stops along the way and entertaining history.
Using the audio travel guide is a great way to learn about what you’re seeing and visiting. It covers sites I didn’t even know existed. Makes the drive even more interesting and fun.
It was like I had a friend in the car with me. Learned stories of the area that I’ll actually remember and share with others. Will use again in the future , for sure!
Wonderful tour! Very interesting and well done. Highly recommend!
The audio tour was a simple way for us to find places we would not have seen on our own and we didn’t have to spend a lot of time preparing. The technology worked great and was simple install.
App doesn’t work, no one available to assist. It was a waste of money. The App only provides a recording about certain points of interest, not helpful at all.
This was the first time trying a self guided tour. It was a great way to see all the sites of Sedona at our own pace without all the complicated coordination and time consuming planning. It was easy to follow, highlighted some incredible stops, and provided fun facts and history of the area. The gps accurately located our vehicle wherever we were and provided excellent directions, offered timely suggestions for breaks, food, shopping and more. This self guided tour is a wonderful, inexpensive alternative for anyone who doesn’t like the expense and waiting around for others associated with larger group tours.
Great tips and things to do. Learned more than I expected. All the places it lead were worth visiting. Will use that one again
Follow the instructions for proper downloading onto your smartphone, and you'll have no problems. Narrator provides good background on the sites you are driving to, along with history of the area.
We purchased this and could not access at all. Followed all instructions as best we could. Called help number no response. If you take my money you should be obligated to offer help.
The commentary was fun and entertaining while also educational. The narrator talked about the sites and recommended lots of places to get out and hike. He also added tidbits about Zane Grey and other people who lived here. The App was tricky to figure out initially but in the end, all you had to do was start driving along the route. The app figured out where you were and guided you to the next stop.
This guided tour of Sedona was perfect for us. We travel with our dog and it allowed us to see all the highlights of Sedona at our own pace. It was very well narrated and informative. Their customer support was very helpful with the set up. We were on our way quickly. It's an excellent value.
I was impressed with how well it matched exactly where we were, I also appreciated the depth of content and context it provided
We used the GuideAlong app tour of Sedona. It worked very well once we determined the starting point it tracked my phone and gave driving directions. It was very easy to use and I will use it again on future trips.
Just what I needed.... I don't like feeling of fighting for position while on group tours. This audio guide was easy to use and took to all the hot spots in Sedona. It even gave suggestions on sites that were a must see versus those that could be missed
Excellent way to see everything at your pace. It's great that I can use this app indefinitely! A nice investment to share with family and friends.
What thrilled that I found this audio tour on TripAdvisor. I wasn’t sure what it would be like but it was worth every penny. Once I had it downloaded which does require you to get their app, I played it. You could get an overview but the real magic happened when you got close to your destination area. The guide would automatically start along your journey and give you history and facts about the area you were driving in and suggestions for where to stop along the way. Would highly recommend this for driving through the Sedona area and enjoying the beautiful sights of natures beauty - the history behind the area really adds a lot to the journey.
Make sure to download apps needed to listen, and access to vehicle Bluetooth if needed..or go to the local carrier store for assistance😂 Enjoyed the information received w/the tour
not easy to use for individuals over 65, you need to make it easy to use and not keep trying to sell use more trips. We were unable to use the guide.
Once we figured out how to sync with car and maps, the tour guide was great and pounted out amazing places to view along the trip through Sedona area
Very difficult to install and the audio would stop working on my iPhone 16 I would have to restart my iPhone to get the audio to work
You can just Google the directions to Sedona and it’s free. Not any additional information on the guided tour as far as any of the history of the Red Rocks or the names of the formations..
The narrator really put some time and calculations into doing it. You could tell he had been here to know how many turns an roundabouts to take. Loved having the history of what we were seeing and it didn't force us to stop if we weren't interested in that particular place.
This was such a great way to see Sedona at our own pace. The guide was entertaining and informative, giving us lots of cool facts about the area without feeling too much like a lecture. We loved that we had the flexibility to stop whenever and wherever we wanted. I highly recommend it if you want to know the must-see sights of Sedona.
The views were amazing and the narration was entertaining. Well done and worth the price. Better than the jeep tours…..
We found it a bit difficult to install app, but then again we are over 60! But it worked quite well! Very informational narration and picked right up wherever you were located while in Sedona!
We were only in Arizona for a quick trip so this audio driving tour was great. Loved the commentary and so much information!!
This audio tour was terrific! Information was on point and relevant and a history of all the sites were included. We were informed of traffic issues, parking and places to stop for photos and food. It was like having a private guide in our car!
After a confusing process to get the voucher to activate the audio tour, it was a really good combination of directions, information of stops & trails and background history of the area! Definitely worth the cost!
The self guided tour was terrific! Point out many facts that we didn’t know. Also discover places we didn’t know about! Well worth the money!
The commentary and timing of comments were wonderful. Getting hooked up with the program was difficult.
Easy to use once we got to a start point , had a little trouble connecting at first but overall a good informative tour
So beautiful 😍 Didn't take pictures because they wouldn't do justice to the 😍 Holiday weekend and very crowded. Great experience
Excellent overview of the area. Highly recommend purchasing as a sole or assistive device for the trip. We also did an additional half day tour to assist with parking services at many of the sites.
If you have limited time or don't want to spend for a guided tour, this was perfect! I was pleasantly surprised by the accuracy of the location tracking, with turn by turn directions, as well as the historical and factual narration that was provided. This was great.
The narrator was really enjoyable to listen to. We loved the little stories and snippets that were added into the instructions. It was entertaining and informative! The instructions were fantastic and we were amazed at how well the narration was synced to our gps! “You are now entering the first roundabout of the city…” and we were. “You are passing the bell right now…” and we were! It was just really fantastic! Good job to the company who made this! I will definitely be ordering some of the other tours in the future. In fact, looking at the offerings, I can’t wait to go to some of the other venues!
Good, but a bit corny at times with the moderations. A good way to understand what you’re seeing. Good to point out things you’re not aware of.
