Secret Wilderness (45+ Mile) - Sedona Helicopter Tour

For context we have visited several countries and several places in the USA. We had the worst experience ever with this helicopter pilot Josh. We knew his name from the receptionist. He was very rude and his face was filled blatantly with hatred. He did not have the decency to introduce himself when we got into the helicopter. He never spoke to us during the flight. It was just myself and my spouse on the trip, but he could care less whether or not we were comfortable when he could have offered us the option to sit at the back where there was more space. We had paid for a 45 minutes trip and he hardly did 25 minutes. While he was descending he had the audacity to ask us for tips. That was the only time he addressed us directly. There were a few more unpleasant incidents regarding this pilot on the flight, but I don't want to elaborate any further on this despicable and obnoxious individual. This person who does not respect other ethnicities except his own is unsuitable for this position. He lacks the ability to interact with other ethnicities due to his hatred for other ethnicities. Action speaks louder than words. He will cost your APEX Air Tour a decrease in revenue. I certainly will not recommend APEX Air Tour to my numerous friends. I would not want my friends to be part of a painful experience with this terrible and entitled individual as we had to experience.

My partner surprised me with this tour right after proposing on our 5-year anniversary, and it was the perfect surprise experience! It was both of our first times on a helicopter and Skylar was extremely helpful in setting everything up over the phone. Tali was very friendly upon our arrival and made sure we were good to go. Steve was our incredible pilot and tour guide. He even played us some tunes to set the mood in the canyon! When the weather turned for the worse on the day we were scheduled for our tours, they were very accommodating in changing our reservation to the day after, which ended up being an unbelievable day to fly. Unbelievable. I have done a list full off amazing things and this is absolutely at the top. The staff was amazing, the pilot, Steve was second to none. The experience was downright spiritual in nature. The views of the red rock formations and the wilderness were unimaginable. Pictures can't begin to describe.

The area is gorgeous, it is worth the adventure. Feel the vortex of excitement. I would suggest the front seat for better views.

It was an incredible experience. Our first time flying in a helicopter. From the very moment Tali greeted us as we entered their airport office we felt welcomed and reassured this was going to be a memorable experience. After a few minutes we were taken by bus out to the airstrip where the helicopter was waiting. We met Steve, a former military pilot, and were helped into the helicopter. A few instructions were given and off we went. I was surprised by the smooth takeoff, very different than I expected. In fact, much less jarring than pretty much any rollercoaster I had ever experienced. It felt like we were floating at points and then soaring like a bird at other times. It was a once in a lifetime experience. For 30 minutes we enjoyed perspectives of Sedona and surrounding areas that very few people have seen. The canyons especially were exhilarating. I should mention my wife was pretty anxious about flying in a helicopter but our pilot, Steve, was extremely reassuring and responsive to her questions throughout the flight and made her comfortable. We were asked at the end of the flight if we would ever do it again, to which my wife and I replied ABSOLUTELY!

Our helicopter ride with Steve as our pilot was fantastic. He pointed out key focal points and known rock formations. Banking right and left through the area really added a dimension of fun.

The tour was one of the best I have been on. The pilot was very knowledgable and funny. The staff were friendly, gave information of surrounding area. Next time I will take a longer tour. The views of places I would never hike to were stunning and we saw a lot of ancient dwellings of 4,000 to 5,000 years old.

Absolutely fabulous! Comfortable ride, even with turbulence. Up close views of cliffs and drop away canyons. Ten out of ten!

We took this tour for my 80th Birthday. There were 5 of us. It was the best trip ever!! We’re sorry, but forgot pilots name, but he gave a great presentation while flying. Also, all the ground crew were great too. This was my sixth flight in a helicopter and one of m best. Highly recommend!

Steve and Conor were fabulous. Conor worked with us to reschedule after weather canceled our original flight. Steve our pilot was excellent. The birds eye view of the red rocks are breath taking especially after the snowfall. Great flight overall! I would recommend this and I would do it again. Steve and Conor were great to work with.

Amazing views & great pilot! He is so knowledgeable & made it fun! The red rocks & Anastasie caves are a magical experience to see. We will go again & consider it a highlight of our lives, and we have traveled quite a bit!!!

The ride was awesome, pilot was great, explained what we were seeing, showed us an elk herd on one of the mountains. Worth having a close up view of things you see from the road and view points. Trip was very enjoyable.

My family and I loved the Apex Secret Wilderness helicopter tour. A few days earlier we had taken one of their shorter tours and wanted to see more, so we booked a longer trip. We saw a huge elk herd on top of a mesa and many cliff dwelling ruins, as well as the beautiful red rock vistas around Sedona. Our pilot was wonderful.

Very nice people and great service. The pilot gave us an amazing tour. The cathedral looks stunning from the air.

We had a fantastic helicopter tour over the entire Sedona Wilderness area!. It was our first time in a helicopter. The pilot was a very skilled professional, friendly and a knowledgeable tour guide. He showed us ancient ruins hidden in the cliffs of rock formations that could never be seen from the ground. The ride was very smooth. I am a person who hates heights, but this experience never felt scary. We would definitely do it again!

A spectacular experience with ApexAir, from check-in, to transport to helicopter pad and the tour was all first class service. The tour is amazing, with views of the canyons that are breathtaking. The only thing I wish, was to stay up longer than we did. Awesome tour and highly recommended.

My wife and I along with one of our sons enjoyed an amazing Ancient Ruins - Secret Wilderness Tour with Apex Air. I flew fighters in the Marine Corps for a dozen years; I was an airline pilot for 33 years; I've had a lot of memorable experiences in airplanes, but his Apex Air flight will remain among the very best ever! Our pilot was a superb aviator who made the flying look so incredibly easy, all the while providing us with a most informative narrative of what was passing before our eyes in an absolutely stunning display of color, light, shadow, and form. I've done the Grand Canyon helo tour, and enjoyed it immensely. This flight, however, was exponentially more enjoyable.

I loved how close we could get to the formations & how informative our pilot is & shared all. A plane tour at the Grand Canyon, the pilot had a pre recorded information, no personal touch like this wonderful helicopter ride!!

Josh was awesome. Had some laughs in the air. Super thorough of safety measures with on boarding and off boarding the helicopter. Knowledgeable of the surroundings. All around perfect trip!

This was a top notch experience! Alicia was so sweet and very accommodating. The pilot was so nice and knowledgeable. They were so kind and patient with our chatty and inquisitive 5 year old!

My family loved this tour! Easy parking and checkin, super friendly staff, great helicopter that fit all of us nicely, learned a lot about the area from pilot Josh who narrated during the flight. Such a beautiful area and a great/fun way to see the Sedona wilderness and canyons without being a professional hiker.

Our tour with Apex was a blast. Check in was easy and quick. Our coordinator. Scott was personable and informative. Our pilot, Josh was great. He took us to some awesome sights and had great commentary throughout the flight. We really enjoyed the flight and would fly with Apex again.

Comfortable helicopter and staff. Joshua was our pilot and covered the safety features before takeoff easily and clearly. Seeing Sedona from the air is a must! we were able to see so many geographic features in a short amount of time.

Joshua from Apex was wonderful. He worked with us to re-schedule from rainy days to a beautiful, sunny one without charge. Met us at the airport on time and knew Sedona inside and out. Saw a herd of elk on the ridge and took us through some mindblowing canyons in this stunning area. Will definitely recommend him to all interested parties.
