Private Exclusive River Kayaking Tours, 4x4 Utv Ride To Kayaks

My 13 y.o. son and I booked a guided kayak trip down the Verde River. Guides Lindsey and Cooper were awesome! Everything was very convenient - they had us park our car down river near where the trip would end, then they drove us upriver to the starting point of our trip and where the kayaks were. They gave us some instruction on how to handle the kayak and we spent a few minutes practicing in a wide part of the river where the water was slow moving. One guide led the way, giving instructions on the best way to navigate down river. The second guide followed behind to make sure no one fell behind. The nice thing is that our tour included only people from our party - they do not mix groups of people who don’t know each other. In our case this was only 2 people, so for my son and I, it felt like a very private tour. We timed our trip around my son’s spring break, which turned out to be perfect time of year to explore northern Arizona. At 10am on the day of our tour, it was maybe a little cool, but warming up fast to around 85 degrees at the end. There’s lots of tree cover so we didn’t spend much time in direct sunlight. Fortunately the water level of the river was good enough that grounding was not a serious problem. There were a few places where the bottom of my boat did contact a sandbar, but nothing requiring me to get out and pull the boat to deeper water, though YMMV. I did get myself into trouble early and ended up capsizing, but Lindsey and Cooper kept everything under control and got me back in my boat quickly. There were some faster moving sections of water in places. I’m not sure if it is correct to call them rapids or not, but it definitely made things more interesting - in a good way! If you’ve done white water rafting or kayaking before, then these ‘rapids’ would bore you, but for someone like me, who has only ever kayaked in calm lakes, it was a little shot of excitement sandwiched between some rather calm and serene stretches of river. My son and I had a great time and we highly recommend booking a tour with Lindsey and Cooper.

Caleb gave very good instructions on how to turn, paddle, and emphasized not to lean to avoid flipping. It was a very stressfree kayaking experience . We were able to enjoy the experience and each others company while kayaking.

The tour was great. Seth did an excellent job of leading us down the river and pointing out things on the way. I would recommend this activity.

It’s a nice & easy rapid to follow. Seth, my tour guide is so nice & very patient with me. He makes sure that I am comfortable & safe all the way. We saw few hummingbirds, otter, yellow bird….dont know the exact name, also saw a blue Heron. Over all, my experience as a 1st time kayaker it was pretty great! Will definitely do it again.

This was better than I was expecting. Caleb, our guide, was great. The Kayaking was very easy, anyone can handle this one. Scenery was excellent. Saw a good amount of wildlife as well. My wife and I both enjoyed this experience. I plan on taking my grandkids (4 & 8) on this someday. They would really enjoy it.

Spectacular! A perfect combination of relaxation with a little bit of technical kayaking thrown in. Outstanding guides who are very knowledgeable and great conversationalist. You definitely want to do this !!

We had a private tour with Collin. He was great! Very informative about the river and the area. And even helpful when I got stuck. Collin was also very funny and personable. He gave us some recommendations of other places to visit in the area which were perfect! Highly recommend.

Collin was an amazing guide Very informative of the whole excursion and surrounding areas, took our time going down I accidentally booked it for just myself (or I assumed at least others would come just a smaller group) but no just me and it was so comfortable Would absolutely do it again!

My wife and I had a terrific PRIVATE GUIDED River Kayaking trip on the Verde River this morning. The communication from our guide Caleb was excellent before we met him at the pickup destination. Caleb took us on a UTV down to a secluded entry point on the Verde River for a 3-mile paddle to our original meeting spot. He provided the kayaks and paddles as well as life preservers if you wanted to use them on the shallow river (1-3 feet throughout the entire length of our trip). He provided some paddling instructions prior to heading out on the kayak which helped my wife who was going solo for her first time. We had beautiful weather and Caleb provided tips and directional guidance throughout the 100-minute paddle trip. We really had a great time and would recommend Caleb and his PRIVATE GUIDED kayak trip to anyone visiting the area.

Was in Sedona and looking for things to do. My sister found @az_legend_adventures_tours. It was an amazing experience. Caleb is an awesome tour guide and has a delightful sense of humor. I was concerned about shade and wind. There is lots of shade - both sides of the river are filled with trees, which also block the wind. Very peaceful and serene trip. Caleb was quick to respond to questions about the trip and was waiting for us promptly at the pick-up location. I highly recommend this trip!

I was with my husband and 16 year old daughter and we all had a great time. Caleb grew up on the river and knows it very well. It was record temperatures in Sedona when we went but the water was cool and the shade from the trees made a big difference. I am not what anyone would consider athletic and it was an easy paddle down river for me. One thing to note, the place where you park your car is not a business with a parking lot. It looks more residential so we were afraid we were in the wrong place at first. Just a heads up.

We had a great time with Caleb private guided tour! The weather was perfect and river water was so clear! And we were so lucky to have Caleb as our guide! He took such great lengths to make sure we were safe and felt comfortable with our ride! We couldn’t have asked for a better guide! He is like an encyclopedia expert! He knows every inch of the river, branches, animals and surroundings and also Cottowod itself! There is nothing he doesn’t know ! Some of the river was so tranquil and beautiful and some very exciting with mini rapid currents! It’s a 5 star++ for us! We highly recommend it! Shallow water for a fat man but a really piece full and scenic trip. Guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Wish I would have done the fishing part too. Would love to go for a longer trip.

This was a spectacular way to spend our morning. Caleb was an amazing guide and he's not kidding when he says he knows every turn of the Verde River. He gave us great instructions at every turn. Two hours went so fast, but also amazing to have such a full experience under our belts early in the day. The river is incredibly beautiful and unspoiled. A trip down is filled with the sounds of gentle waters, birds and other wildlife, shaded by the giant Cottonwoods and other magnificent trees. Not to be missed! And I think the private guided experience Caleb provided made it even better. We highly recommend Caleb and we can't to do this again next visit to Cottonwood. Thank you!!

Great experience! Guide is friendly. You can definitely tell Caleb (the guide) knows this River like the back of his hand. Every rock, stick, and depth of each section. Recommend for anyone even with kids. We had some prior experience so we got through it quicker but no experience is necessary as he knows how to guide you! Fun fact: no snakes!

We booked this tour for my wife’s 65th bday. She had never been kayaking before. Caleb did a great job of instructing as we went and. Was extremely patient and funny. The river was beautiful. Great trip!!

This was aweful! There was not enough water depth so my son had to push his kayak a good part of the trip. This trip ahould not have been booked, a big rip off!!

While the river was low, we still had a great time. Caleb was very patient with our less than skillful paddling and was a great leader down the river. I would highly recommend this trip.

It was a great experience from novice to experience kayaker. The water in some parts went fast and they were Rapids but they were short and easy for most. Three out of six fell into the river but with no injuries and just a lot of laughs. Caleb was professional, timely, accommodating and easygoing. We would do it all over again.

My friend and I were guided by Caleb. The experiwas everything!!! We fell in the water, a few scratch and bruises but our guide was super helpful and patient with us. 2 hours of fun, totally worth it for the serenity sprinkled with lots of excitement. I would totally do it again!!! Even though it was January and the water was cold, it wasn't too bad.. maybe I'll try again when it is a little warmer to enjoy falling in hahaha

Okay so we were woefully unprepared for a swelled river. The owner was very sweet and responsive but we capsized within about 20 minutes!

My solo kayak trip with Caleb was beautiful, serene and a bit exciting at times. He was the perfect guide, navigating us through some rocky “rapids,” pointing out where wildlife usually is (we saw river otters, a jumping fish, blue heron and more) all while giving some history and when I wanted time to take it all in, he was respectfully quiet. I’ve already shared his info with two friends and will be coming back with my kids!

We had an amazing time on this private tour! The Verde provides just the right amount of challenge and a nice balance of navigation and relaxation! Our guide was fun, informative and helpful. Seriously, it was like we were hanging out with an old friend! And as a bonus, we got to see some wildlife, including a pair of playful river otters. Highly recommend!!!
