Itinerary
Lake Powell is a stunning desert reservoir known for its crystal-clear waters, towering red rock canyon walls, and hidden coves carved over millions of years. This is where your paddling adventure begins, launching into calm waters surrounded by dramatic scenery as you set off to explore one of the most iconic and picturesque landscapes in the Southwest.
Water Antelope Canyon is a stunning slot canyon accessible only by boat, offering a unique and intimate way to experience its sculpted sandstone walls and vibrant colors. During the tour, guests will hike through the canyon alongside a knowledgeable guide, who will share insights about the area’s geology, history, and Navajo culture while leading the way through this truly unforgettable landscape. This hidden section of Antelope Canyon offers a quieter, more immersive experience than the land-based canyons. Its unique perspective from the water makes it a truly unforgettable destination for exploration and photography.
Lake Powell’s expansive blue waters and towering red rock scenery provide a relaxing and scenic return journey as we head back across the lake to the original launch point. This final stretch on the water offers time to take in the sweeping views, reflect on the canyon experience, and enjoy a smooth cruise back as the tour comes to a close.

Absolutely the best! Our guide Rich was very knowledgeable and very helpful
We had an amazing experience with our guide Rich! We truly appreciate his expertise and for making this excursion a memorable one!
I debated booking this excursion because of the cooler temperatures, but I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the conditions were actually perfect for this adventure! It was a little chilly at the start (a low of 47° and a high of 62°), but the sun warmed us up on the water. With the sunshine and a thin athletic jacket, I was perfectly comfortable kayaking. By the time we reached the hike, we were taking our jackets off! I booked this excursion without much advance planning, so I didn’t have strappy sandals. While they would be helpful, they’re definitely not necessary. I kept my shoes in a dry bag (available to purchase for $10 after booking) and launched the kayak barefoot. I kayaked without shoes and put them on when we reached the canyon hike. Our guides, Laura and Francisco, were fantastic! They did a wonderful job tailoring the tour to the group’s size and abilities, making the experience enjoyable for everyone. If an early morning departure is available, don’t hesitate to book the 8:30 a.m. launch! We felt like we had the water almost entirely to ourselves, which made the experience even more special. I also booked the Lower Antelope Canyon tour, and the two experiences offer completely different vibes. The kayak/hike excursion lets you experience the canyon from the water and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. During the hiking portion, we saw only a handful of people, which allowed us to take in the incredible canyon formations up close without the crowds often associated with the Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon tours. Both experiences are unique, and if you have the time, I highly recommend doing both a kayaking/hiking excursion and an Upper or Lower Antelope Canyon hike. It’s the perfect way to experience the beauty of this area from two completely different perspectives!
We loved our tour! Laura and Fransisco were excellent guides- friendly and helpful. The scenery was breathtaking from the water and as we hiked up the canyon it just became more and more spectacular! I highly recommend this tour as the best way to experience Antelope Canyon!
Such a fun way to explore a less crowded canyon. Beautiful and quiet along the river. Bring water shoes as your feet get wet. The earlier your tour, the more you have it all to your group. Rich was a great guide and helped take amazing photos for us in the canyon!
✨ Amazing Arizona Kayak Tour! 🛶☀️ Our tour guide, Mike, was excellent! He made our Arizona kayaking experience unforgettable. His knowledge, professionalism, and friendly attitude made the tour even more enjoyable. Thank you, Mike, for such an amazing adventure! 🙌❤️ Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Arizona! 🏜️💦 Mike is amazing
Wonderful experience and Mike the guide was very skilled in his profession and explained everything well
Was the best experience! The lake is so calming and you feel in a place so special. The guide Laura was the nicest and gave us so much information! Thank you for this experience!
Our tour guide was really good and knowledgeable. Don’t forget to bring some swimming clothes in case you choose to go for a swim after.
The team was fantastic and the tour was great as well! However, given the price, it would be nice if drinks and food were included. I would also recommend using the paved boat launch instead of the rocky hill for boarding and disembarking, for the safety of both employees and customers. Overall, we had a wonderful day and received a very warm welcome. Thank you for the great experience!
This tour is an absolute must! Even before the tour communication with the operators was great. We were able to request the type of kayaks we needed for our group ( tandem vs single). All messages were answered professionally and timely. We were guided by Dandrick, who was amazing. We were never rushed. We all felt like this really was our tour. Dandrick made sure everyone was taken care of and having a good time. When it came to the two small climbs to go deeper into the canyon he showed us multiple ways to climb and was there to lend a hand when needed. The canyon was beautiful and even though there were other tour groups there, it still felt like it was just your group. A few things to note. While the tour is beginner friendly the kayak portion back can get a little more difficult due to the waves from other boats. That being said everyone managed it no problem and we even got to stop off for a little swim too. The most challenging part of the tour comes any beginning and end. The walk down to the kayaks is very steep and rocky. It is important to take your time and pay attention to your footing. If you enjoy kayaking and want to see the canyon then I highly recommend this tour we had a couple of 65 plus people in our group and everyone agreed that the tour was great.
Awesome kayak and hike into the lower Antelope Canyon. Dillon was our guide and was both professional to ensure everyone was safe while being extremely warm and welcoming to everyone in the group of 9. Dillon helped the group navigate higher than expected winds in the canyon. The views were spectacular and we were able to hike a good distance into the canyon. Dillon was very knowledgeable with the geological features and changes the lake and canyon has experienced over the last several years. Would highly recommend the tour and Dillon as your guide. Important note to share is you can park down on the bout launch site even though sign says only 30 minute parking. Also the time on your phone may flip back and forth due to time zone being so close and depending which tower your signal is coming from.
Nice kayak back and forth through canyon can get a little tiring but a great site to see. Great walk through the canyon
Kayaking in Lake Powell was beautiful and the hike into the canyon was incredible. We (64 and 67) are experienced kayakers and found conditions in the lake a bit challenging on the way back to the starting point due to the waves in the lake. It is doable but that day tired many out. Our guide Laura was friendly and helpful. She checked in with paddlers, gave tips, and was patient with the slower folks. Enjoy the trip!
The experience was good however we think some things need to change. The kayaks were in poor condition. Guild did not stay with us. Had to carry our on kayaks down a terrible hill. Entrance to water was terrible, dangerous.
This was our very first excursion, and it exceeded all expectations. Our guide, Dandrick, was exceptional—he was extremely knowledgeable, answered all of our questions, and was incredibly patient with the entire group, allowing us to truly enjoy the experience. The views are once-in-a-lifetime. 10/10 recommend!
This was a great trip! Laura was a wonderful guide. The kayaking was challenging but breathtaking!
An absolute highlight of our trip! Kayaking across the calm waters of Lake Powell and paddling directly into the narrow entrance of Water Antelope Canyon was an unforgettable experience. Transitioning from the water to a foot tour through the winding slot canyon gives you a completely unique perspective that standard land tours can't match. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone stayed safe while helping us snap incredible photos. If you want an active, scenery-packed adventure, this is a must-do!
Had a great time with Mike and Antelope Kayak Tours. Mike was entertaining and informative. The sites were amazing!
A different way to experience the Antelope Canyon. Combine kayaking and hiking not only for sight seeing but also for exercising. Water Antelope Canyon is not as narrow but the canyon wall is much higher.
Our Lake Powell kayaking adventure was absolutely incredible! As a group of first-time kayakers, we were a little nervous at the start, but our guide, Laura, made the experience enjoyable from beginning to end. Laura was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and supportive. She made sure everyone felt comfortable and confident on the water. Her positive attitude and encouragement turned our first kayaking experience into a fun and memorable adventure. The scenery was beautiful, the tour was well organized, and Laura truly went above and beyond for our group. We’re so grateful for her guidance and kindness. We highly recommend this Lake Powell kayaking tour—especially with Laura as your guide! 🚣♀️☀️
A once in a lifetime trip to check off our bucket list. Kayaking was great on Lake Powell and in Antelope Canyon. Guide shared interesting details along the way. He also took some memorable photos of us along the way. Loved how he showed us using pano feature on camera in the slot canyon.
Great experience & Dandrick was a great guide !
Dylan was notably welcoming and well informed. He even helped another couple when the water became somewhat rough and challenging for them to manage independently. The canyon walk was remarkable, offering an engaging look at how the layers develop.
Tour guide Dylan is a AWESOME! He is knowledgeable about the antelope canyon, he is professional and has great charisma. He took great photos of my family. He also added in swim spots for us. We definitely enjoyed every minute of our tour and recommend Dylan and his team!
Great experience for the kayak instruction, guide, scenery, etc. Don't underestimate the kayak part of the trip, it too is breathtakingly beautiful. Water is so clean in the lake.
Great tour! But the kayaking was very hard. The waves in Lake Powell were very strong and it was a bit scary honestly for beginners! Nevertheless, once we made it into the canyon the hike was fine and the views were breathtaking!
My friend and I did the morning tour with both kayaking and hiking. The whole experience was incredible and our tour guide Rich Doucette was a great tour guide. Highly recommend!
Rich, our tour guide was personable. He helped us capture pictures we wouldn’t have gotten otherwise and entertained us many stories and history. We will put up his pictures in our house for everyone to see our most enjoyable part of our trip.
Laura did a fantastic job guiding while kayaking Lake Powell. My wife and I had a blast! We definitely would recommend.
This tour was an amazing experience and a great way to see Lake Powell and the canyon. Our tour guide Vince was very knowledgeable and friendly. If you are looking to book a tour this is the one you should book.
Everything fine, kayaks were spotless and nearby the water. We could do whatever we wanted - no rush or grouping with others
This was an amazing tour! Dandrick was an incredible guide—knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive throughout the experience. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and the hike was peaceful and serene. I truly enjoyed every moment and would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for a memorable experience!
It was an amazing adventure experience. Our tour guide Dylan made it very interesting with all the information, he made sure no one was left behind or held back even though the group had varying skill set for kayaking. He was friendly, guided us well through the canyon and overall a fun, memorable experience
Amazing! We loved every minute of this adventure. We have only kayaked once before but it wasn't bad. A little tiring at the end but totally worth it.
My daughter and I loved the kayak/hike experience. Dandrick was a fantastic guide, full of knowledge about the region and its geography. We HIGHLY recommend!
The entire experience was fantastic. Such beautiful scenery and Rich was an amazing guide. He was helpful, informative, and fun! It was pretty tiring for our more inexperienced members of the group but definitely doable. The best part was the swimming and jumping from the rocks into the water. Such a great time!
What a fantastic experience! Would highly recommend this way to see the Upper Antelope Canyons. The kayak was not a difficult trip - and the scenery was fantastic. The hike through the canyons themselves was wonderful. For the money this was a great value compared to other hike only options. Vince our tour guide was engaging, knowledgeable, entertaining, and informative. Highly recommend this activity
I can't praise my tour guide enough! He treated our group like we were family. His name is Mike. He is very knowledgable in the history and anything related to Antelope and also the surrounding canyons. He is a great asset to your company. If i was his boss would give him a raise and part of the company. Lol I would like to tell you that my father had some difficulty with his right wrist and back. Mike towed him at least the majority of the tour. What a guy
Great guide Skyler who prioritized safety & answered many questions about the area. Gorgeous views & includes a hike on foot through a canyon. Be advised the kayak trip back is against the current, & in windy conditions like ours, it takes significant power or previous kayak experience to navigate (1 hr 15 min kayak there; 2+ hrs kayak back). The guides were about 20 min slow so don’t panic if they’re not there on time.
Our guide Dylan was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He worked very well with our group and we all had a wonderful experience kayaking Lake Powell and seeing all the beautiful sights of Antelope Canyon! Would love to do this again!
Skylar is was great guide you definitely want him. Must be in good physical health & condition. Don't forget water & snacks.
Dandrick was very knowledgeable about the area and was very accommodating. The kayaking part was tough but he kept us assured we were fine. He even took a cool pic of us in the canyon. This experience is not for the weak or ill Prepared. Come hydrated and dressed to complete a trek.
We only got to do the kayak and not the tour thru the canyon itself which was really disappointing. The tour guide was cool and polite.
We had a small group, but our guide (rich) was amazing! Kept us on time and let us explore the canyon. It was a great experience. Beautiful weather for both the hike and kayaking. I was blown away by the canyon and a little surprised at how much climbing and elevation change there was.
This was a challenging and rewarding experience!! Mike was the best guide!! Above and beyond our expectations. Would highly recommend him to everyone thinking about this tour.
Beautiful views very friendly staff, definitely go when it’s not too hot. Pretty easy hike and you get to see the amazing antelope.
It was more physically demanding than we expected, but so worth it. Skylar was a great guide and we had an amazing experience. Highly recommend.
This excursion was fun. It does require a lot of upper body strength to kayak! But the views are some you’ll never see anywhere else. Laura was amazing! She’s a great guide and very knowledgeable about the canyon ! Also she is very nice 💜
