We have a wonderful day exploring the Grand Canyon with our guide Jordan. He was very knowledgeable in the canyons formation and all of the different layers of rock that we saw. We would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wanted to get a good value and have a wonderful day as well.
Had a very informative tour with Linda who turned lemons into lemonade for sure ! Tour was tailored to the needs of the day and she was totally flexible in the RAIN AND FOG! ITs amazing how venturing a few miles in one direction in the park changes the whole landscape and Linda knew all the places to hit . We got some amazing photos with the sun and clouds (and fog) and even got to see a gorgeous rainbow 🌈. She was very knowledgeable about the canyon and surrounding area and its history. IT is definitely worth doing a guide. IT was a great experience for all!!!
If you drive it you would never be able to see and learn as much as we did about The Grand Canyon on this tour. Also, our tour guide, John was great and very knowledgeable about everything we did see and do!
The tour was thorough and very enjoyable. The tourguide, John, was excellent. He had a wealth of info about the canyon that he shared with us. Due to the of-season, my wife and I were his only guests, and he was very good to us. He bought us lunch although not obligated to do so. He gave us a detailed explanation of the rock formations in the canyon, whihc we really appreciated.
The guide, Linda, did a good job. However, the van needs to be replaced. It rattles very loudly and we had a hard time hearing. She needed a microphone to assist her so we could all hear in the back. The van has seen it’s better day.
Guide very good. No microphone so we could not hear the conversation while driving. Van raddle alot so was noisey. Hard getting in and out of the 3rd row. Lots of conservative by the driver and the front passenger seat not heard by us.
Book a tour so that way you will learn more about the place you are visiting. Tour guides are knowledgeable.
plenty time to explore the Grand Canyon, experienced guide with tips for great views. Bit of a cheesy 'robbery' on the way back by actors - great for kids
Fantastic Tour. Our tour guide John was incredibly knowledgeable about the Grand Canyon and personable. We were able to stop at many points of interest and experience the magnificent views. John explained the various rock formations and the Mineral Composition in the rocks. We highly recommend the VIATOR tour company and be sure to ask for John.
Best experience Jake our guide was pleasant knowledgeable and the perfect host Would highly recommend to anyone We would not have seen a third of the canyon without this experience
the guide was very knowledgeable and brought to the right places, however he also felt it important to let us know how he felt about the administration and Trump. We paid for a tour not a lecture how he felt our president was the sole reason the earth was burning down. he talked about the fires in the forest and the brush that hadn't been cleaned out because Trump thought it was more important to spend 25 billion on a war instead of 10 million on cleaning the forest. what he didn't explain was that the brush in the forest has been there a lot longer than Trump has been president and it had nothing to do with the tour.
Jake was a terrific guide. He was knowledgeable about all aspects of the Grand Canyon and the local environment. Every place he took us to had an amazing view and Jake provided a great commentary as well as a few great stories. Best way to see the Grand Canyon!
This was an excellent way to experience the Grand Canyon without the hassle of driving! Jake was an amazing tour guide. He knew so much about everything we saw, and had handouts identifying animals, birds, and rocks that we might see (and how those rocks were formed). We made 6 stops at various scenic spots and he had the history of each place, showing us where to look for the highlights. It was a wonderful day! Ask for Jake if you’re taking this tour!
John was our tour guide. Very informative and lots of stops at different views of the canyon!
John is knowledgeable, devoted to the environment, and devoted to protecting his passengers, however when the entry to the park delayed us, he chose to eliminate shopping time rather than trimming his rock talk. We understood that certain elements were expected, but it would be good to allow your guides to have more flexibility to “read the room” as to what might work best for individual groups. He did a great job at choosing out lunch option as the restaurant offered many options and was tasty and efficient. A better microphone needs to be available in the van so that everyone can hear well.
Our tour guide John was great. The gorgeous views, combined w/ fun & educational information made our trip exceptional. Well worth it & highly recommend.
Amazing tour!!! Would highly recommend this tour especially for first time visit. Leo was very knowledgeable on the Grand Canyon.
From the several tourist points of the Grand Canyon National Park, you only get to view 10% of the Canyon. And even still the beauty changes from one moment to the next based on the time of day, the position of the sun, and as clouds pass. Our tour guide, John, proved to be extremely knowledgeable of the history and geology of the Grand Canyon. We enjoyed his humor and how he continually put the size of the canyon into perspective. Using one point of reference (The Watch Tower) he would explain how far away that point was from our current viewpoint. As we drew closer to that point, it went from a tiny smudge to a 5-story structure. We quickly realized just how LARGE the canyon was. John's knowledge of the history of the Grand Canyon was quickly seen at every point we visited. His eagerness to show off this wonder of the world excited us at every stop. He was very passionate during his presentations of every point we visited. With John's knowledge in the canyon's history and its geology, and the sheer beauty of the colors you witness in the layers of history before you, the Grand Canyon is a MUST experience. We were lucky to have had John as our guide. We would recommend one or two days with a guide, then return to soak it all up for another day or two. I feel it important to note, that when visiting the Grand Canyon. there will be walking. If you're not use to being at an altitude above 6000 feet, remember to take it slow and have plenty of water with you. John made sure he had water, gatorade, and some light snacks on hand. We would definitely do it all again if we had John with us as a guide.
I am so glad we booked this tour! Our tour guide, John, was phenomenal. He was so full of interesting information. Canyon Dave is a geologist, so they are very passionate about the rock formations and types of rocks found in the canyon. We went all over the accessible South Rim. It was a full day tour, so we covered a lot of ground and exceptional views. There were only 4 people on the tour, including myself and my spouse, so was a nice small group. I also have a significant fear of heights, the tour leader, John, was very supportive and patient. I'm also a sucker for dad jokes, and John had loads of them. He's no piece of schist!! Overall was a great experience and wouldn't trade it for any of the other tours in the area. Highly recommend! Worth the cost.
John did an amazing job allowing us each to fully appreciate the beauty of The Grand Canyon. He is extremely knowledgeable, witty, considerate, a very safe driver, and punctual. We never felt rushed but got to each of the main lookout points and stayed within the predicted timeframe. I would highly recommend seeing The Grand Canyon in this manner and know you are leaving with beautiful pictures and core memories made.
John is very knowledgeable about the history and geology of the Grand Canyon. He did a great job of explaining everything. He took us to all of the lookout areas with great views. My only suggestion would be to add a mic for the driver and a speaker in the back of the van. We sat in the last row of a 9-passenger van and sometimes it was hard to hear John because of the road/tire noise.
We only had 1 day at the canyon and wanted to maximise our experience so decided to book a tour, we visited more sites with Keaton than we would have by ourselves. Keaton was very passionate and knowledgeable about the canyon, we certainly learnt way more about the Canyon, the geology, and environment surrounding it, really enjoyed it
What a wonderful day we had with John. We are retired and travel full time in our B Van. We booked with Canyon Dave and without a doubt the best park tour we have ever taken. John, our guide was noligible and passionate about the Canyon. I would highly recommend this company for your tour of the Canyon. A great day!
Keaton our tour guide was awesome! Very knowledgeable about the Canon and its ecosystem and environment. Great way to see the Canon. We made many stops and had lunch at the deli which was very good too.
I've been to Williams twice: Jan 2024 and Mar 2025. I enjoyed my trip to this small historic town. During the mining days in the late 1800s, the silver miners would make a railroad stop in Williams for supplies and entertainment. Nowadays you can spend the night at the Red Garter, a former brothel, then next day watch a gunfight reenactment before taking a leisurely train ride to the Grand Canyon. Walking along the main street, you'll find plenty of shops and restaurants. And at the end of town there's an exciting roller coaster type sled ride.
Great day. Saw so many beautiful vistas of the Grand Canyon. Nice. that lunch was included. ........
I chose to take this tour from the KOA outside of Williams. John was our tour guide. He is terrific. He is very enthusiastic about the Grand Canyon in general and specifically geology. He pointed out many interesting things and even had a rock demonstration which was very helpful explaining the canyon formation and why we see what we do. He was knowledgeable and open to questions. He gave us time to see whatever we might want to see. We did have time to do a little shopping but that was not overwhelming. The lunch was great and it was nice that we were able to have choices. This was a van tour and there were two couples other than myself. I was alone and we were all compatible and had a good time I thought. Would highly recommend.
Best time ever! So much knowledge the guide had to share. Very considerate of photo ops! Lunch was included in the price.
Fantastic tour. Entire family (2 teen boys included) loved it. Keaton (our tour guide/driver) was extremely knowledgeable & entertaining!
Moderate exercise with walking and getting in and out of van. James, the driver most in formative and courteous. Thought I signed up for train ride but this was all inclusive, including lunch. Train ride was just the ride to the park. Highly recommended.
This was the perfect guided tour. Kent, our guide was extremely knowledgeable in both the geographic and history of the Grand Canyon. He took time to explain things to us as we went from stop to stop and did a phenomenal job of just making sure and engaging our seven year-old son. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to sit back and relax and take in one of God‘s marvelous creations.
Lov d the train ride!! Nancy our onboard hostess was friendly, helpful and all around great hostess. So enjoyed the train holdup & robbery!😜 Thank you!!!
We had an amazing day touring Grand Canyon with Keaton our guide. He was friendly and courteous. Most importantly very knowledgeable of the geology of Grand Canyon and its history. We learned a lot and spent the day very efficiently with him guiding us to the locations that are worthwhile. It's totally worth every penny. We also got a free lunch to our surprise. I definitely recommend this highly.
We usually don’t do tours, but I wanted my husband to relax and not worry about driving. So glad we decided on this particular tour. Keaton picked us up at our hotel in Williams. We joined two other couples for our tour. We got to see all of the best views of the GC and learned so much history and geology. Keaton really loves his job and knows his stuff. In addition to seeing the GC, we had plenty of time in the gift shops and had a delicious lunch. F
An amazing day. Leo, our wonderful, knowledgeable driver and guide picked us up from our hotel in Williams at the appointed time and we made a group of 6. She very expertly drove us to some fabulous viewpoints of the Grand Canyon, all of which exceeded our expectations. We learned a lot about the geology of the canyon, the rocks, the animals, the history. We stopped and chose lunch and then motored on to a brilliant spot overlooking the canyon to eat and learn some more. The afternoon continued in the same vein. We also stopped at a small gathering of native Indians selling genuine Indian handmade items. I was so pleased to be able to buy knowing that they were made locally. Absolutely beautiful stuff, jewellery, dream catchers, all sorts. I don’t think many of the tours include this, which is such a shame. So. One of the very few 5* I have ever given but so well deserved. But make sure to book as early as you can as they get booked up quickly!
We took our twin grandson for there 8th birthday and it was a trip of a lifetime for them since we are from Iowa! They loved it! Take change for the train robbery and be prepared to do a lot of walking at the Grand Canyon! Beautiful! Trip of a lifetime to share with my daughter and grandsons since we have never been! Hope you get JANE as your cabin steward she was the best! Interacted with the guest and the kids as well! Thank you JANE hope you got your tip we left at the ticket booth!!!
fantastic tour!!! Our guide Cody was very knowledgable and friendly. His energy was contagious. He apologized for the sprinkles of rain we experienced but the beauty of the rainbow afterwards was breathtaking!
Cody was very interesting and seem to enjoy explaining things to us as opposed to just reading from a script. it was truly enjoyable and he made it fun for the entire group.
Awesome views. Great information from tour guide. Felt well informed. Great experience. Recommend especially for first time visitors.
Our tour guide, Keaton, was perfect for us! He has visuals to help explain the evolution of time and the Grand Canyon. Loved all the history facts and color stories of the people and how they left their mark on the Grand Canyon.
This tour company is one of the best we have taken. Keaton, our guide, was extremely personable, great knowledge of Grand Canyon, history of the canyon, major governmental acts that led to being a National Park. Binnoculars were provided, water all day, handouts and visuals used when providing information.
We were very glad with the decision to have the guided tour for Grand Kanyon. Keaton was a great guide who had answers to nearly all questions. He drove us to places we would not have gone to without him. It was definitely worth the money.
Keaton was fabulous. So much knowledge of the geological makeup of the area and the historical nuggets you wouldn’t appreciate going in your own.
This is definitely worth the price of admission. Cody was a fabulous guide, extremely knowledgeable about such a wide range of topics. That is what made this tour so fantastic. The Canyon speaks for itself, but it was great to learn about the geology, botany, biology, history, culture, even early film/photography that took place in and around the Canyon throughout the ages. I'm definitely glad I didn't just try to go from vista to vista on my own; Cody made it so much more enjoyable for me and my mother. Highly recommend. Lori H.
Fantastic tour! Cody really knows his stuff and was an amazing guide! Even the people working at the Park said he was the best guide there! Stopped at all of the best views and learned so much about the making of the canyon.
Keaton was very knowledgeable and friendly! It was one of the best tours I've ever had and Keaton was able to go above and beyond explaining all my questions. What a nice guy!
The amount I learned about geology and how the canyon is home to park employees was astounding! Our guide was a wealth of knowledge and it was a pleasure getting to know him!
Excellent, informative tour. Our guide, Keaton, was knowledgeable, on-time, and professional. We enjoyed our time and the views. This tour was a good value and well worth our time.
This is definitely the best way to see and learn about the Grand Canyon! Our guide, KEATON, had a masterful knowledge of everything about the Canyon and its history, geology and ecology. He made the trip better than we expected and most memorable!! It was a full day of fun, excitement, and definitely new sights and knowledge. We recommend Canyon Dave's tours to everyone!!
