What an incredible experience! Celebrating our 50th birthdays with friends, we expected adventure—but this exceeded all expectations. From challenging hikes, canyon rappels, swimming, and sliding through narrow canyons, every moment was unforgettable. Jose was an exceptional guide—patient, knowledgeable, and always focused on safety while encouraging us to push beyond what we thought we could do. Thanks to his expertise and support, we completed challenges we never imagined possible. It was an exciting, safe, and truly memorable experience that we’ll be talking about for years.

Big Day! Hiking, Swimming, Jumping, Sliding and Repelling… Jose ROCKS … he was patient, supportive and motivating… This day trip was our favorite vacation activity…

Highly recommend Jose and this activity. He was super patient, easy to talk to and geared the trip toward our capabilities. I couldn't imagine being comfortable rapelling into the canyon but he made it easy and we always felt safe. I highly recommend. PS depending on your fitness level you may be sore after 🙃

This was an amazing adventure! Makesure you are in pretty good health with some endurance and min fear of heights. We had to jump into cold black water caves and repel into canyons. Climb over Boulders and under cliffs but had so much fun. Our guide was professional, and we felt very safe. We also crawled into bed afterward and never wanted to leave. If your fit and can climb and hike..DO THIS TOUR.

This was an amazing adventure from start to finish. I did this trip with my wife and 15 year old daughter. Our guide was Jose, who we communicated with beforehand, and he prepared us by telling us what to wear, where to meet him, and provided us with lunch options. We met Jose at the tour office and drove with him to the canyon, which was about 2 hours away. Conversations were great and we felt safe driving with him. We each received our own waterproof backpack with our gear and supplies for the day. Once we got to the site, we prepared, and then began walking/hiking in. About 1/2 mile in we stopped to really gear up (harness, helmet, gloves, etc. The hike started right away with jumping into the water and we were off through the canyon. The next several hours of hiking we were up and down lots of good sized boulders, slid down rocks, were in/out of the water, had some jumps into the water, had some drops we could choose to jump or rapel, and then had some spots where we could only rapel. We stopped and ate our lunch after a big rapel. Once we were finished, we cleaned up and then headed back to Scottsdale. This experience was EPIC and we would love to canyoneer again, and we wouldn't hesitate to use or recommen Jose. He is very experienced, and we always felt safe. If we get back to the area, we will definitely call him to do this again!

My daughter and I booked this canyoneering adventure to break up a long road trip, and we found the perfect company with which to go canyoneering. Neither of us had done anything like this before. I have a healthy fear of heights, but I agreed to do it because of my daughter wanting to try it so badly. Jose of Epic Adventures was the perfect tour guide! Originally, we wanted to do the Jug, but Jose advised us that there was no running water. However, that was another equally fun canyon that we could do. It is good to go with someone who knows the area! We would not have known this. Also, you can't really do canyoneering on your own without the proper equipment and knowledge. If you want to do it right (and not die), I highly recommend Jose at Epic Adventures. He knew I was afraid of heights, but I did not look down, and he made me feel comfortable. He knows the ropes, literally! He has all the right equipment, including wetsuits, helmets, gloves, and of course the ropes, etc. for repelling. It is a little strenuous, but my 50-something body handled it fine. This was such a fun adventure, both my daughter and I would do it again!

Our Canyoneering trip was amazing! We had so much fun! Jose was such a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable, patient, and fun. He challenged us, showed us beautiful views and was very supportive and prioritized safety. I was nervous about repelling but he explained things so well and his expertise was obvious that I had full confidence in him. It wound up being my favorite part of the trip! We went on a girls trip but I would love to bring my family back some day. I would definitely recommend Epic adventures for a fun, empowering experience.

It was the first time we were doing canyoning and I confirm that it won't be the last. We loved it and Jose was just awesome!!! We had a blast.

I am afraid of heights, but our repelling guide was experienced and confident and taught us how to be safe while dangling on a the end of a rope dozens of feet above the ground. It was actually quite relaxing once I got over my fear of death.

Jose was an incredibly awesome guide. It my first time ever rappelling or doing anything close to this and he was extremely helpful and made everything so much easier. Jose was also very personable and very easy to talk to, which made the entire hike an awesome experience.

This is the second year we've booked an experience with Epic Adventures and we plan on continuing the tradition on future trips to Arizona. Jose is an amazing guide and provides phenomenal support. This year we took a family trip and went canyoneering with my school-aged daughter. It was an amazing adventure. Jose went above and beyond supporting her and helping her along the way. She had so much fun she wanted to hike back up and do it again!

Could not recommend Jose and Epic Adventures enough! He was extremely knowledgeable, kind and FUN! We had the best time for our anniversary and can't wait to come back and do another canyoneering trip!

Aaron was an expert guide and taught us so much during our day together. My husband and I were repelling down a cliff within 10 minutes of the adventure - it was exhilarating! The scenery was beautiful and the day of adventure was just what we were hoping for. We highly recommend Aaron and this experience!

If I could give it a 10, I would! The best tour guide ever - JOSE!! Very knowledgeable, safety conscious and PATIENT - we had a group of 5, mostly out of shape, middle-aged ladies! The tour was a challenge but we all made it through. I will go again!

Family run tour operator who's been doing it for years and really has some great knowledge. Takes their time with beginners and super friendly to boot. Canyoneering is definitely a workout, but would highly recommend!

Our canyoneering experience was epic - complete with hiking, rappelling, and climbing. Our guide, Nick, was stellar!

I hosted a women's yoga and canyoneering retreat and decided to go w/ Epic Adventures bc of the great reviews and they exceeded my expectations! Not only did we all feel safe in their hands, but their energy and level of excitement made the experience even better. Jose, Nick, and Aaron were all amazing guides and I can't wait to take my next group of ladies out for a canyoneering adventure with them!

Best experience ever!! We really did not know what to expect and had zero experience rappelling but Nick’s knowledge, calm manner and expertise led us to 40ft cliff jumps - that I would never had expected to attempt. (Rest assured he also offered many modifications for those not as comfortable). We took a scenic Jeep ride from Scottsdale to Christopher Creek Gorge. The ride was about 1-1/2 hrs but the time went quickly since Nick shared so much info about AZ. We hiked about 20 min to the canyon -which was breathtaking! A few tips- we wore leggings & sneakers, brought a change of clothes & packed a light water resistant jacket. We were grateful for the wetsuit provided, as the water is chilly. So many laughs & memories we’ll cherish forever. This was most certainly the highlight of our trip to AZ!

It was lots of fun!! The guide was super knowledgeable about the whole experience. I recommend this fun adventure to anyone in town.

This was beyond anything you can ever imagine!!!! The scenery is so stunning, feels like you are in fairy tale land, super intense hiking and swimming through canyons, rappelling down waterfalls! This was the funnest, most adventurous thing we’ve experienced! Jose and Blake were super patient and helpful. Highly highly recommended! This was the highlight of our trip!

We had such an AWESOME trip!! Jose was excellent!! Beautiful drive into the canyon and such wonderful views when inside the canyon. Would love to come back with our kids. Wear good hiking shoes and bring dry shoes to change into. Great escape from the Arizona heat. If we would have had more time here would have loved to do it again.

I surprised my husband with this trip for our 6th wedding anniversary! It was truly amazing! We loved every part of it and we are addicted now! Jose was our awesome guide! Jose is patient, understanding, and gives people options if needed! Book this trip! You will not regret it! Recommendations: Wear sunscreen on neck and face if you are not used to being outside in AZ; even if it’s over cast! Wear comfortable clothing from the start because the wet suit is super tight! First set of clothes is what you wear the whole time. Second set is for changing after the experience. Wear shoes that have a decent grip on the bottom. Some parts of the canyon can be slippery. I wore the gloves Jose gave us for the majority of the trip to help climb rocks. Do not be afraid to ask questions! Trust the process<—- easier said than done. 😆

Outdoor adventure wrapped up all in one! Rock climbing, jumping off rocks, hiking, repelling, swimming. Great day spent with my son. Our guide Jose was terrific, made sure we were always safe. Highly recommend this adventure.

The entire trip was excellent. Jose is an experienced professional. Our family felt like this was a most EPIC ADVENTURE!

This was our first time canyoneering and we absolutely loved it! Bob was an excellent guide. Exceptionally skilled and made us feel comfortable stepping a little outside of our comfort zone. This is the best way to adventure out and experience the beauty that Arizona has to offer. You will not be disappointed!

We were a group of 11 (4 adults and 7 kids ages 10-18) and every one of us loved this excursion!! We started by meeting at the Epic offices where they fitted us for our helmets, harnesses and provided us with gloves, backpacks and water. There is a bathroom at the office. From there we loaded into their Jeeps and drove the near 2 hours to the canyoneering site. Starting at the top it was hiking, scrambling, rappelling, and walking down into the canyon, through it, and back up out of it. We stopped a few times for water breaks and then midway to eat the provided lunch. The scenery was beautiful and the guides were professional, patient and very helpful the entire time. This trip is no joke though - it’s tough work, and I would highly recommend consulting with Jose before bringing anyone along who you think might not be old enough or fit enough to handle it. A few recommendations: 1) If someone in your party is prone to motion sickness then I suggest taking something for it before your drive from the Epic offices to the canyons. 2) Put on sunscreen before you go. 3) Consider light layers to protect your legs and arms from everything sharp as you hike in and out of the canyon. 4) This may go without saying, but your only bathroom once you reach the canyons is the great outdoors, so prepare accordingly :) All in all, this was a GREAT adventure and we would definitely book another one through Jose!!

Bob was a fantastic guide and gave us options for our experience, challenging/easier. The hike was the perfect amount of challenge and beauty. The canyon was serene and we learned a lot about the plants and animals in and around the canyon. The repelling was fun and challenging but Bob walked us through all the moves and we always felt safe. You should be fairly in shape for this activity as it was a lot of scrambling. Thoroughly enjoyable

Took a canyoneering trip to Parker Canyon. Our guide, Jose, was awesome! His knowledge and experience with canyoneering led to a safe, yet challenging trip. It took longer than expected , but that was because i was stopping so often to take pictures of the awesome scenery! Overall the experience was 5 stars!

Awesome activity! This was the highlight of our trip to Arizona- we plan on coming back to do again to a wet canyon next time. One recommendation is to sell shirts- I definitely would want if you do- guide was great - memories are priceless!

We decided to take a second day with epic adventures. We were not sure if we wanted to make the full day commitment but it was absolutely amazing. This is truly the road less traveled. Jose took us to a canyon I would’ve never been able to find. We were the only ones there. I felt completely safe. He was very patient and gave us the opportunity if we wanted to bypass any areas we felt uncomfortable with. We were all in! He took an amazing family photo of us

We went on a canyoneering trip with Epic Adventures this past weekend and we had a blast! Jose is an extremely personable and knowledgeable guide. He had so many stories to share regarding his past trips, shared plenty of facts about the area, and demonstrated proper techniques and use of the equipment. We were lucky to have such an awesome teacher for our first time canyoneering. Jose is very patient and we certainly felt safe during the entire experience. Jose even brought a go pro and a drone to take plenty of pictures throughout our adventure down the canyon and went out of his way to share a list of some of his favorite spots near the area so we could continue exploring on our own. Overall, we would 100% recommend using Epic Adventures for any outdoor tours you may be considering! You won’t be disappointed!
