Amazing 2-hour Guided Hiking Adventure In Phoenix, Arizona

Jay was excellent and very knowledgeable. He had everything ready for our hiking adventure and he’s very patience. The hike was easy to moderate. I highly recommend this tour and hopefully you get Jay as your tour guide.

Jay was our guide and he was awesome! Very friendly and knowledgeable. He was very well prepared with plenty of water and snacks. I would definitely suggest this tour amd ask for Jay as your guide!

Steve Hill was my guide and he did a terrific job. He knows a lot about the surrounding area and was very helpful when I asked questions. I would absolutely book another tour with him.

Our tour guide was Henry. We learned a lot about the trail and nature. Had so much fun, he gave us a back pack with water, we took a few quick breaks as needed. Took really cool photos and had a great time. I would rate the difficulty of this tour about a 5 or 6 out of ten. That is because you have to be careful of the rocks on the trail and a few tiny inclines. But you can totally this one, the 2 hours went by fast. I’m gonna be more adventurous on my next visit and do one of the longer hikes.

Great hiking Experience! Henry was awesome, full of knowledge and goodies( Gatorade, water, snacks and wlectrolytes. I would recommend tour and Henry.. He went with the flow of the hiker, I’m inexperienced and so he tools breaks when I felt winded, he made sure I was good.

Doug was great!!! We really enjoyed hiking with him. He will tell you all about Arizona very friendly guy highly recommend!!!

I just returned from the sunset hike with Michael. WOW! It was amazing! It exceeded my expectation's. Michael was super knowledgeable about the terrain, cactus and history. I would do this again! He made it very special and fun. He even took pictures! Thank you.

Our guide, Doug, was awesome. He was so knowledgeable about the plants, landscape and animals. He was very approachable and friendly and answered any questions we had. It was only my mum and I, and I was worried it may be a bit awkward but conversation flowed freely and it was just like chatting with a friend. 100% recommend!!

Bella was my guide. We hiked the Ocotillo Trail. She was an amazing guide. She shared her knowledge of the plants, the area and her passion for nature and adventure was infectious. I felt extremely comfortable hiking with her. I wanted to hike but didn’t feel comfortable navigating the trails alone. She was a wonderful leader and made sure we took breaks to drink water and provided light snacks. She offered to wait for me to get my ride out of the park. I highly recommend hiking with Bella.

Loved the hike! It was not too difficult and we were able to catch the sunset. Our guide, Jay, was so awesome! He came prepared with everything we needed and was very knowledgeable. Def recommend

James was great leading our tour! It was really neat to learn about nature in the area as we hiked. He was patient with non-hiking experience level and made the whole the time spent enjoyable!

What a great intro to hiking in the desert! It was just my husband and myself with our guide, Jason. He was knowledgeable, had everything we needed (water, sunscreen, snacks) and made the hike very interesting. I would highly recommend if you are a newby to hiking in the desert !

Jason was awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed our first hike! Great trail for first timers, just enough terrain to get the experience and get your heart pumping. Views were incredible and weather was perfect. Would do again!

We did an evening hike. Our guide Steve was amazing. He is very knowledgeable about plant life, history, and the surrounding mountains. I would do it again.

We had a wonderful guided tour with James! We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. It was the perfect blend of a hike for us~ learning, a little rugged, great exercise with being challenged at times (because we chose to as James gave the option for some heart rate elevation) but not to the point of what did I get myself into. Do not hesitate to book; it was a fabulous hike!

Our guided hiking tour was fabulous! I would give it more than five stars if I could!! James was the perfect guide for us. I’m old and not in the best shape and my husband is very fit. James made this hike enjoyable for both of us! He knows so much about Arizona and the desert. It was so interesting to listen to him. We have done a lot of amazing things in the week we were here but this hike with James is the top of the list! Oh, and we went on this hike on Valentines Day/our anniversary and James took so many wonderful photos with fun poses. It was all around so much fun! We highly recommend it, you won’t be disappointed!

​I had an incredible 2-hour hiking experience in Phoenix with Curtis. The pre-tour instructions were crystal clear, and the tour itself was seamless. Curtis is exceptionally knowledgeable, sharing fascinating insights throughout the trek. He even went above and beyond by waiting with me until my Uber arrived after the tour! ​They provided all the essentials like water and snacks, so I truly didn't have to bring anything. The trail was perfect for beginners—very easy to hike but offering complex, stunning views that were anything but simple. Curtis also knew all the best spots for photos. This experience was so memorable that I’m planning another trek this week. Highly recommended!

I had a great hike with Henry of Mad Desert Trekking. We met right on time at the trailhead, thanks to Henry’s detailed directions. The trail itself was fairly easy to negotiate, and yet led to some very spectacular views of the Arizona landscape and the city of Phoenix. Henry was an excellent guide, and was very knowledgeable about the natural history of the terrain, and also shared with me some of his experiences as a tour guide. I returned to this area a couple days later to hike some of the other trails in this system. Highly recommended!

Our hiking tour was fantastic with beautiful sunny skies and stunning views of the mountains. Our guide Jay was so knowledgeable about the area and we learned so much about the plant and cactus life - you can really see his passion for doing these tours. It was great activity with some breaks and plenty of water, and hiking sticks to help make us comfortable. Highly recommend.

It was a beautiful experience with awesome views. Jay was a fantastic guide. But more so than that, he was very considerate of all of the kids, including one toddler. He was full of fascinating knowledge and how to keep everyone safe and hydrated. Definitely recommend for families! Please note it is a bit moderate of a hike (the one we went on).

We were lucky to have Dialinda guide us on our desert hike! She was very communicative prior to the hike and left clear instructions on where the ride share service should drop us off. She also adjusted the hike based on our skill and comfort level (we were able to do some minor scrambling!). The trails slightly changed due to the recent storms, but Dialinda expertly and safely navigated us. She also brought plenty of water, snacks, and hiking poles and set a perfect pace. Dialinda was extremely knowledgeable about the desert plants and even found some pincushion cactus fruit for us to try! She also took a ton of photos of us without us noticing! We cannot recommend Dialinda enough - thank you for a wonderful day! It was truly the highlight of our trip to Phoenix.

Doug was an absolutely amazing guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable of the trail we hiked and made my friend and I incredibly comfortable hiking. He encouraged us to even conquer a bit of our fears and was so worth it with all the beautiful views we got to see. He was such a sweet person and was helpful in assisting us down any difficult parts of the trail. I felt incredibly safe with him being our guide and hopefully will be able to see him for another hike. He has so many life stories and personal experiences that connect back to the guided hike and made our time that much more enjoyable! 5/5 stars.

This was one of the most memorable experiences of my life, Steve was so interesting, and his knowledge of this country was remarkable, learned amazing things, felt very safe hiking, this was my first experience and will continue to hike, hopefully with Steve as a guide again. Thank you!

Awesome easy hike with beautiful views of the mountains and the city. The sunset was awesome, easy walk down with headlamps. Snacks and water provided. Well worth the money. Doug, our guide, was awesome!!! Very knowledgeable and friendly. He took the time to educate us on the Phoenix area, local plants, and the native history. He is a veteran, EMT and a professional guide, we felt very conformal and safe during our entire trip.

We did the sunset hike with Doug. The hike was absolutely incredible. Doug taught us all about the area and plants along the way. He made the hike so much fun and when we got to the top the view was breathtaking. This was our favorite part of our trip to Phoenix!

It was very hot as expected but the experience was great. Good to experience the landscape and tracks, with different vegetation and views of Phoenix. Good advice is good sun protection, cold drinks and remaining hydrated.
