Absolutely amazing! Trevor was such a knowledgeable, energetic, great voice command and overall nice gentleman to show us around and educate us on Bisbee. From the moment we all met him we knew it was going to be a great trip. Jeep was clean and smelled fresh, never a lack of communication, incorporating his history in Bisbee and personal experiences throughout this old mining town. Gave us multiple suggestions on dining, excursions and sites. Went out of his way to make sure we had great photos and took his time with us. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I DEF book again with him! And I’m picky .. so TRUST ME!!!

The tour starts on OK Street, immersing you in rich history and unique architecture. As you ascend, the guide elaborates on the street's historical significance, pausing at Joseph Muheim's house to discuss his contributions. Next, you explore Brewery Gulch, known for its blend of architecture and historical events, pausing at Muhiem's Bar for an in-depth look. You'll then move to the Lyric Theater and Central School parking lot, each offering different facets of local history and design. A stop at the Old High School provides insights into the area's educational past. The tour then ascends High Road, offering panoramic views and an extensive history lesson on Bisbee. Finally, you'll descend to Quality Hill for another layer of history and architecture before concluding on Main Street with three distinct stops that bring the area's evolving story full circle.
You'll visit the Lavender Pit Lookout. Here, a mere five feet from a 900-foot-deep mine pit, the guide details mining methods and equipment. We then move to another pit section showcasing remnants of leaching ponds. The guide explains how copper is extracted from ore through leaching, adding depth to your understanding of mining science. We also delve into the socio-cultural aspects, discussing nearby closed mining communities and their historical context along with future mining prospects. This attraction offers an intricate view of mining operations, from large-scale setups to minute chemical processes, all set against the backdrop of stunning landscapes.
You will enter Lowell, AZ, and explore Erie Street. With 1940s classic cars and vintage storefronts, this is an ideal spot for photography. Your guide will also share insights into the historical Junction Mine operations. Next, you'll move to the Shady Dell Hotel. As you drive through its parking lot, the guide will explain the historical importance and the cultural relevance of the hotel. The lot itself is filled with classic vehicles and antique artifacts. Your tour continues to Lowell School, with its copper roof and doors. The guide will share both historical information and personal stories related to the school. Another stop is at a leaching drainage ditch and its polluted waters. The guide will share stories of how this ditch was a hub for his childhood adventures. The last attraction is a drive through the Evergreen Cemetery, a nationally registered historic site. Here, the guide will educate you on the cemetery's historical background and its significance to Bisbee.

Great tour of Old Bisbee. Our guide had grown up in Bisbee and knew plenty about the history of the town.
Highly recommend this tour. Travis arrived at our hotel ahead of schedule with his cool jeep. He grew up in the Bisby area and had many stories to tell and enlightened us with history and more. Super friendly and knowledgeable. The tour provides insight that couldn't be gained without spending a few hours with Big Jeep Tours. Just do it!! You won't be sorry!
The Big Jeep Tour is a must for all my visiting friends and they love it! Yesterday's tour was no exception. Travis tailors each tour to my friends' particular interests, adding historical details and stories that bring the area to life. Consistent 5-star reviews are no accident. I can't wait to book the next tour - always fun & unique!
Jump into a comfortable Jeep with an experienced guide, who happens to be a third-generation resident of the area. You'll head off into the greater Bisby area to see the sights and learn about the history, buildings, and residents of this historic mining town. The sights are brilliant and the stories engaging. Highly recommended!
Travis was amazing! He is super knowledgeable about the area with his own history of growing up there! We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him! We were like old friends as soon as we met! We felt like we'd made a new friend in the area for sure! We could have spent all day with him without regretting a minute of it! Thanks Travis for the awesome experience! When we make it to Bisbee again we will look you up again!
I would give our trip 6 stars, if I could. Our guide, Travis, did a fantastic job in showing and giving us the history of Bisbee and surrounding areas. I would definitely recommend this tour and ask for Travis!
The guide provided great detail about the history and current state of Bisbee. I highly recommend this experience.
This was a great tour! From a true local who knew so much history about Bisbee and the mines and was very passionate about Bisbee and the history. I loved learning all of the random factoids.
Friendly, local, flexible, knowledgeable guide. Highly recommend him.
This was a private tour of Bisbee. I got local and state history plus details about certain homes there. It was a very enjoyable experience and I saw a lot of this charming town! Knowledgeable and friendly guide. Always felt comfortable. Would do again!
I highly, highly recommend Big Jeep Tours! We did the 2-hour Old Bisbee tour, and we loved it! Travis was an amazing tour guide- pleasant, personable, professional, and very knowledgeable. He’s a great historian but interesting and very fun. I would book with him again without hesitation. Things that matter to me include punctuality, authenticity, and factual storytelling, and Travis provides all of that and then some! We were sad for the tour to end. We were very comfortable in his big Jeep and got a wonderful overview of the fascinating history of Bisbee. We really liked the mix of history and personal experiences- it made the tour fun, relatable, and real. I can’t say enough good about our experience. Thank you, Travis!
We had an absolutely wonderful Jeep tour of Bisbee with Travis! As a Bisbee native, Travis knows the town inside and out and took us to places and showed us things we never would have discovered on our own. His knowledge of Bisbee’s history was incredible. He shared so many fascinating details and stories that you really could only get from someone who grew up there. We learned so much and found the history absolutely fascinating. Travis was also incredibly friendly, informative, and enjoyable to spend time with. The tour was just over two hours in a comfortable, air-conditioned Jeep, which was perfect for exploring Bisbee. We would highly recommend Travis and this tour to anyone visiting Bisbee. It was one of the highlights of our trip!
Travis does a fabulous job of showing you the historical town of bisbee it is a knowledgeable interesting tour highly recommend
Travis is an amazing tour guide, being a 4th generation Bisbee native he has not only Bisbee history but a lot of personal experiences that he shares. We had our 2 small dogs with us and he was very accommodating to them also. We would recommend his tour to anyone who wants a great experience in Bisbee.
Guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. He was a lifetime Bisbee resident. Many insider stories make it especially enjoyable
Our tour guide grew up here, so was able to give us so much history mixed in with lots of mining and architectural facts. He was very personable and allowed us to see lots of the area that we would never have been able to walk to without climbing even more steps than we already have here. Highly recommend!
One of the best tours (the best Jeep tour) we've taken! Travis was so knowledgeable and helpful. Having a "native" guide you around and share these stories was wonderful. He was able to answer questions. So friendly and would stop wherever we wanted to take a closer look.
Having traveled world wide, I can tell you honestly there is NOTHING like a local guide; one who has lived it and done it. Greg was an exceptional guide who not only took us around to the designated locations, but kindly showed us places we were interested in as well. Funny, engaging, knowledgeable. A true gem of a human. You will not have any regrets whatsoever of taking the time to learn about the area! 100% recommend!!

My wife and I visited Bisbee for the first time. We booked the tour with Viator. Our guide was Travis, and he was excellent. He is a native of Bisbee and knows the city through and through. He went out of his way to show us every nook and cranny of Bisbee and took us high above the city for extraordinary views. He answered a million of our questions and was very patient when we wanted to stop. He actually asked us if HE could go over the 2-hour time limit, as he wanted to make sure he showed us everything he wanted. He has an awesome, clean, AC-controlled (or if you want the top off, he will remove it) Jeep. It was very, very clean. We had a GREAT tour and would highly recommend you tour Bisbee with Travis.
A great tour with a fantastic guide. Thanks for this experience today really enjoyed it.
This was an excellent trip! Travis took us all over Bisbee and he was accommodating and informative, and he needed things that only a local would know! can you all the great places to eat, you knew the history with all of the streets and he was very friendly and conscientious driver, and I would highly recommend this trip to anybody, especially with Travis
I don’t remember the admission fee. It was so awesome 🤩 i had a lot of fun & my mom did too It was just the two of us with the tour guide & he asked if there was a specific spot we wanted to check & it was a lot of the historical sites.
Travis is a native of Bisbee and his tour is chock full of knowledge of the town’s history. All presented with pride. It was a great way to see and learn about this wonderful, historically relevant, and quirky town.
Travis was very knowledgeable and would recommend him as a Jeep driver for others. He was very accommodating and patient with his guests.
We were a little early, Travis directed us to a free parking area and restrooms to use before we started. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable about the area and accommodating to what we wanted to see and explained things we didn’t even know to ask him about. He was gracious to stop for picture taking whenever we asked. He was able to talk and explain things while still being very aware of traffic and pedestrians all around us. He was already at our pick up point when we arrived 15 minutes early, willing to start the tour then and extended our tour time by almost 15 minutes afterwards also.
Travis picked us up early at location of my choosing in Bisbee. He was very informative, kind and funny! He was so easy going and answered all of our dumb questions with grace! Thank you again Travis for a GREAT tour of Bisbee!!
This Jeep Tour was excellent. Our guide was very accommodating. Travis, our guide, is a true local of Bisbee- born and raised. He knows everything about Bisbee.
Travis was very professional. My friend and I enjoyed our tour. He even took us places that were off the beaten path. I high recommend this tour.
Kyle could not have been nicer. As a Bisbee native, he had many anecdotes, historical information, and showed us many fun points of interest. He gave us detailed information about the mines. Very patient and accommodating for picture taking. We could not have asked for a better guide
Travis was extremely knowledgeable about the area, answered all our questions; we were very pleased with our tour.
This was a great tour! Travis was our tour guide and he is the one you want when you go on this tour. He is a Bisbee native and will answer all your questions about the history of Bisbee and little known facts about the ghosts and little known facts of Bisbee. He is a really great guide and he showed up on time and was easy to talk to. The vehicle was clean and safe and the entire tour was really enjoyable!
Totally enjoyable. Guide was born/ raised in Bisbee. Individual group tour which allowed time gor questions/ stops etc. Only way to truly get the amazing picture of the history of the copper industry in this town
Travis made Bisbee come alive! The town gave us the impression of a town no one cared about with all of the closed shops and retaurants. Boy were we wrong. Once withTravis who took us around relating stories of his boyhood there, his father's work on the mines, and what had happend to the Bisbee area over the years our minds were changed forever. We learned so many things like about Geronimo's attacks, John Wayne's frequent stays and his drinking buddy Lee Marvin's visits. it was interesting to learn how over the years various groups have settled there reviving the old copper mining town. He took us all around Old Bisbee, to the Lavendar Pit and over to Lowell answering all of our questions, making sure we were comforatble and giving us one of the best tours we have had any where in the world. A tour with Travis is an absolute must!
Travis was informative and he grew up in Bisbee. He offered a perspective from his childhood that was super interesting. His knowledge of Bisbee history is great and he is a likable character as well! Price was excellent for 2 hours. He had a nice jeep too.
This was a jeep tour within the Bisbee town. Travis was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Learned some interesting facts!
Very Knowledgeable native to Bisbee! Super nice guy! Took us to several wonderful places with Gorgeous virws
Travis was very personable and knowledgeable about the area. His customer service attitude was very professional and wanted us to have a great experience.
Wow, this was a great tour! Travis is friendly and informative, and he gave us wonderful perspective and history on the area which complemented what we had already learned at the local museum. I wish we would have had more time to do a longer tour. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful time with our guide Travis. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating. I highly recommend this tour.
Travis is the soul operator of Big Jeep Tours in Bisbee. He grew up in the area and knows nearly everyone we passed during our tour. More importantly, he knows every nook and cranny in Bisbee. It was enjoyable listening to him recount his younger days and how the area has changed. We drove all over Bisbee and then over to the Lavender Open Pit Mines. We stopped a few times for pictures at overlooks and he was very accommodating when we got a little warm and turned on the AC… unusual for this time of year. But it is what it is. If you want a knowledgeable guide in a comfortable ride, Big Jeep tours is the company you want to hire.
Our experience was excellent! Our guide customized the tour to our interests. He has a wealth of information & history about Bisbee and the surrounding area. We would HIGHLY recommend!
Travis is wonderful! He is a local who knows the ins and outs of Bisbee and the surrounding areas. He goes slow, leaving plenty of time for pictures, questions and details of each area. This is a must do! Wish we could have done it at the beginning of our trip so we could have further explored some of the areas he showed us. The Jeep is a very comfortable ride. Don’t forget to show Travis some appreciation after the tour! 😉
Fantastic communicator, excellent history of the people who shaped Bisbee, Warren, and Douglas , the mining history, the culture, current people who are taking the reins of improvements for Bisbee, took us around all of Bisbee, into Warren, lots of current info on artists and architecture, super interesting, Travis is extraordinary as a tour guide.
Travis was a wonderful, personable, knowledgeable, courteous guide. We came with a specific historical interest, and he had all the knowledge and places to take us to the sites of the Bisbee strike in 1917. Jeep was clean and comfortable. The tour was the highlight of our Bisbee visit.
This tour is the best way to see and learn all about Bisbee and the surrounding area. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. He truly loves the area and it show!
Extremely informative. He really knew the area and history. Great personality. Clean vehicle Highly recommended
Travis was excellent. It was so nice having a local to show us around and tell us stories only a local would know. Travis was so very flexible and knowledgeable.
As you've read, Travis is passionate about his hometown. He is "Big Jeep Tours" and it's his own company so of course he's thorough. Enjoyed Lowell as well (had never heard of it) --- nice surprise at the end so won't spoil it. We only had a few hours so this was the ideal way to learn about this VERY unusual place. Travis took us where no normal human would dream of driving. Think straight-up hills and narrow one-way streets. You must be able to climb high into a Jeep. One person in front, three in back. Excellent experience and pleasant driver. Loved it!
