Wow, where do I start? Well for starts, we booked a rate that was called Rooftop Refresher. It says a bucket of beers and chips and salsa at the rooftop bar. Cool, we thought. That'll be fun. Well, we got there and called down to ask about the perk, forgot to ask when we were checking in. She said, oh I think its in you refrigerator. I looked and thought "what the.." Not one beer we liked, and with this weird flavor and that. And the chips in the fridge were stale and old. Just horrible! And we called back and all the woman had to say, "Oh, sorry about that" and hung up. So we started noticing other things like hair on our bed, stains on the chais lounge, and hair in the shower. NO way are we staying in this room. Similar issues with the second room, plus it was handicap, then the 3rd room finally clean enough. The guy at the front desk moved us around but he was very disrespectful to my wife. He was always overtalking her. He also said he would put a $75 credit on our room. Well it never showed up. So that's currently in the works. So we did order some dinner and it was really good and the service was decent as well. But we had have a lot left over. So we called down later that night and asked if we could get some to go boxes. The woman answered the phone like we were bothering her. And when we asked about the to go boxes she answered in a rude manner like were disturbing her, as well, saying they don't give away to go boxes. That was the icing on the cake. We did call the manager but they never answered their phone and we have left two messages so far. We did make it up to the rooftop bar. The service was good but another couple came up asking about the rooftop refresher. The bartender had no idea what it was. But I'll give her this, she went and asked someone downstairs about it. And she came back explaining its 4 beers with chips and salsa. They didn't have any chips and salsa but gave them 4 beers of their choice. We mentioned to the other couple we had that too. They were kind of peeved as well. You say a bucket of beers at the rooftop bar, give us a bucket of beers and chips and salsa like the rate says. Thats false advertising! I called corporate and gave them all the details of our experience. We expect to get a refund for our stay. But for now its an active ticket just filed today. Just really unprofessional how management has responded when left the first message. We'll see if they respond to Marriott Corporate complaint.

In Phoenix every 2 to 3 months, travel here for business and have been doing so for about 5 years. This is my go-to hotel, it's really located, plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance, reasonably priced and part of the Marriott chain. They have an excellent rooftop bar and bar/estaurant down on the ground level as well. Rooms are spacious and appointed well and staff are always very very friendly.
This hotel was great! Perfect location with lots of places to eat/drink right there. For parking, if it's available you can self-part right across the street from the hotel. Otherwise their valet is good too, although I think $49 is kind of steep. Location is perfect to walk to restaurants, bars, etc. We stayed for 4th of July and it was a perfect place to watch the fireworks from the rooftop bar. The rooftop pool is nice too, although it is very small (makes sense for a rooftop!). Rooms were nice and clean and had the standard shampoo/conditioner/gel. I'd stay there again or recommend it to anyone who is visiting Tempe.
Not for families. More suited for older children aged 21-28. Rooms super clean, service excellent other than room service walking in and upset that we had late checkout. They have raves at the pool area. So the thumpity thump of the dj and as it gets later the atmosphere gets worse for any family or person over 30. Your kids are not going in the pool. I met my husband who has been down with our oldest at City of Hope, so we had 2 cars. Valet was $400. It must be in the super small print along with the raves on the roof. Again super clean and friendly but we won't be back.
This is a great, clean hotel with a boutique/spa hotel vibe. The rooms are spacious, with great showers and a nice, peaceful design. The views from the higher floor rooms and from the rooftop pool is great. The hotel's high-end feel could use a slightly higher level of service from the staff. They weren't bad, but more casual/informal than the place would suggest. The food was good, and the portions were good for dinner. They could even accommodate my gluten-free needs. The only drawback was the day-long pool party on Friday (ending at 7pm) attended mostly by college kids. Load music with a DJ. Hotel guests with children being turned away. It did not align with the feel of the place and rendered using the pool and rooftop deck unpleasant.
