Extremely Disappointing Anniversary Stay – Unacceptable Service My wife and I recently booked a two-night weekend stay at Hacienda Del Sol to celebrate our two-year wedding anniversary. We have stayed at this resort numerous times over the years, and it has always been our go-to destination for a special staycation in Tucson. Unfortunately, this experience was so disappointing that we seriously doubt we will ever return. From the first day, the air conditioning in our room would not cool below nearly 80 degrees. We immediately contacted the front desk and requested another room, but were told that no other rooms were available. We were assured someone would call us back, but that call never came. On the second day, the room was still approximately 78 degrees, making it extremely uncomfortable. After spending another day dealing with the same issue, we decided to cut our anniversary getaway short and leave the resort. Before leaving, we contacted the front desk again to express our frustration and request a refund. We were told that a manager would contact us the following day to discuss the situation. Once again, nobody ever called. What made this even more frustrating was that the front desk acknowledged the resort had been experiencing multiple air-conditioning issues. Clearly, this was not an isolated problem, yet nothing was done to accommodate us or resolve the situation. We spent nearly $1,000 on what was supposed to be a relaxing, romantic anniversary getaway. Instead, we spent our time in an uncomfortably hot room, making repeated calls to the front desk, and ultimately leaving early because the conditions were unacceptable. I understand that mechanical problems happen. What I cannot understand or excuse is the lack of customer service, follow-through, and accountability from a resort that markets itself as a luxury destination. To date, we have not received a courtesy phone call from management, let alone an apology, explanation, or refund. We have been loyal guests of Hacienda Del Sol for years, which makes this experience especially disappointing. Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled has completely changed our opinion of the resort. For nearly $1,000, we expected a comfortable room and professional customer service. We received neither. Extremely disappointed. Unless management makes a meaningful effort to address this situation, we cannot imagine returning.

So this was a last-minute booking due to change in travel plans. Interestingly, prior to booking I had no idea that this was a preferred hotel. I booked through Booking.com and the reviews were good. But I must say, the grounds and landscaping around the main building and reception are incredible. It’s like a mini botanical garden. I’ve only shared some of photos I took with a larger field of view. Paragraph the rooms are expected for a luxury hotel. Comfortable bedding, clean rooms and big suite. We did not eat at the property. However, there were multiple offerings through the day. The prices were as expected, resort prices. They had a cute gift shop and a spa. Paragraph would I stay here again? Yes, I would definitely stay here again especially for the right price.

We loved our stay here! The property is beautiful and peaceful, ideal location for exploring the area by car. Breakfast was incredible and cooked fresh to order every day. The breakfast servers were lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful, and always offered us a coffee to go after our food. The grounds are really pretty and the pools have lovely views of the mountains and large cacti everywhere. The bed was comfortable even if the pillows were a little soft for my taste. We appreciated the complimentary coffee and board games/puzzles available. The only negatives really were that the rooms were a little dark, the plug sockets were not so convenient/easily found and the shower could have been better. But these are minor issues, and somewhat expected for a historical property, we would happily stay again.

This is an amazing resort! It's like a combination of an arboretum, historic hotel and and an art gallery. The grounds are full of beautiful flowering plants and art....lots of outdoor spaces to sit and listen to the water fountains or watch the sunset. I got a king suite and it was so comfortable. The staff is extremely attentive and will fix any problem very quickly. There were some small branches blowing and making noise scraping against one of the windows...I called and they sent landscaping and they took care of it within minutes. The pools have gorgeous views and Jacuzzis are great temp and nothing was crowded. I always had the Jacuzzi to myself and since it was open 24 hrs I could enjoy the stars and moonrise while in the hot tub. Furniture and bed in the room were super comfortable...also loved the artwork in the room and all over the property. My new favorite resort! Food was outstanding too!
