My friend and I spent four days and four nights at Bedouin Roads - it was amazing!! Ahmed was our guide; each day he brought us to a new hike, cooked lunch out in the desert, walked through beautiful canyons, and saw sunset. The camp location was very peaceful (we were the only guests the first two nights). For two of the nights, we slept on mattresses in an enclosure by the tent, so that we could fall asleep under the stars. Breakfast and dinner was prepared by Abdo; the maqluba and the food prepared traditional Bedouin style (under the sand) was especially delicious. Zayd was also very helpful and we just chatted quite a bit, as he had very good English. Overall would highly recommend!

Itinerary
Day 1
1
Lawrence Spring - This natural water source with cool water running down the mountains into the throughs, is the camels' favorite hangout! With small trees and the almost fluorescent green moss, this is a true oasis. Relax here, just as the Bedouins and their herds used to do, and watch how herds of camels pass by, longing for fresh water. Or climb up the mountain to see spectacular views and the many inscriptions of Thamudic origin
Khazali Canyon - From the outside, this looks like an ordinary mountain, but when you enter the canyon between the split mountains, you take a journey back in time. You can see the traces of the merchants who traveled with their caravans from Egypt to Damascus, and of the pilgrims who passed through the canyon to Mecca. See the fascinating Thamudic, Nabatean, and Islamic inscriptions, and petroglyphs of humans, animals, and soles of feet when you enter the canyon. And a series of basins in the back.
Red Sand Dune - This is the most famous sand dune in Wadi Rum! It owes its red color to a high concentration of iron oxide. It seems like a simple climb, but the sand is soft and difficult to walk on, which makes it challenging for tourists to climb, but very entertaining for the locals to watch. At the top you can enjoy amazing panoramic views of the valley. The best way to get down is running or sandboarding
Little Bridge - Through years of various severe weather influences, this natural Little Bridge has been formed on a rock formation in the Khor El Ajram area. It is called Little Bridge because it’s only a few meters high and easy to climb, but the views are stunning and on pictures it looks pretty big and impressive. It’s perfect for families with children, and those who don’t want to climb too high. When you come down again, a cup of sweet tea awaits you in the Bedouin tent where you can buy souvenirs or relax and hang out with locals.
Lawrence's House - Lawrence's house plays an important role in the history of Wadi Rum. Nabateans laid the foundation for this place over 2000 years ago which was used as a stop for the passing caravans. Later it became known as Lawrence's house, because TE Lawrence, in the story "Lawrence of Arabia" was based here. When you reach the top after a short climb, you will be amazed by the countless piles of stones. In the past, the Bedouins used to stack stones as road markings. You can see far into the vast desert plain, which again makes for great photos.
Traditional Bedouin Lunch - We will take you to a nice place with a good view, where your guide prepares a delicious traditional lunch, cooked outside on the fire. The menu is different every day, but we like to cook you a warm meal with vegetables, bread, hummus, yoghurt, and other local treats. While we are cooking, you can explore the area with a hike, or just sit down and relax while you enjoy the Wadi Rum landscape.
Abu Khashaba Canyon - Stretch your legs and enjoy a nice walk in this deep narrow valley, surrounded by tall mountain walls. There’s a lot of green, which makes a beautiful contrast with the red desert sand. You will see many different types of trees and plants, and hear countless birds chirping. The locals have hung bottles to collect the rainwater so that the birds can drink from it. It is a real oasis of peace. The walk takes 30 to 45 minutes, and your guide will pick you up on the other side.
Umm Fruth Rock Bridge - This 15-meter-high bridge is the most famous bridge in Wadi Rum. It is not a historical place but it is the ultimate place to take enviable photos. Give your phone or camera to your guide who will stay on the ground and take an impressive photo of you on top of the bridge. The locals run up and down the bridge with ease, but for tourists it is a bit more challenging. That is why small holes have been made which makes the climb a bit easier.
Mushroom Rock - In Wadi Rum there are many famous rock formations, known for its unusual and sometimes even funny shape. The Musroom shaped rock owes its shape to years of erosion, with the lower part wearing out faster than the upper part. Mushroom Rock is fun place to take nice pictures and find some shelter. Bedouins used rock formations like this to seek shelter, after walking in the hot desert for hours.
Burdah Rock Bridge - At the top of Jabal Burdah, you will find one of the highest natural rock bridges in the world. During the jeep tour we make a stop close by so that we can admire the bridge from a distance. The total climb to the bridge can take up to 4 hours, this is not included in the jeep tour and can be booked via a hiking tour or upon request.
White Desert - Wadi Rum is known for the red sand where most of the highlights of the tour are, but further south the area changes into the white desert. It seems as if you have entered a completely different world. This area is not yet heavily visited by tourists, so there is much more flora to discover and a better chance to spot wildlife. It’s very special to stand in the white sand and see the transition to the red part in the distance. You can also notice a difference in the landscape, the rock formations and even the sand itself.
Sunset Viewpoint - Wadi Rum is known for having the most breathtaking sunsets. And we know the best places to watch it! We will take you to a secluded area where you can overlook the wide panoramic landscape as the sun sets, while we prepare some sweet Bedouin tea on the fire. Just sit on the mattrass or in the sand and take in all the beauty you see around you.
Overnight with dinner - Here we will spend the night and enjoy the dinner and set around the fire with listening for a bedouin story .
Day 2
2
Breakfast - Wake up at the Camp with a panoramic view of the Wadi Rum . You can also see the sunrise near the camp . Enjoy a traditional breakfast (usually served 07:00 - 08:00)
Finally we will drop you back to the meeting point . hope you enjoy it !

My wife and I stayed at Zeid's Bedouin Camp for two nights. The hospitality shown to us by him and his father was truly incredible. After the really good dinners, we sat together by the fire for a long time and learned a lot about life in the desert and the culture of the Bedouins in Wadi Rum. The camp is very secluded and the best choice if you are looking for the tranquility of the desert and want to enjoy nature. In contrast to the increasing number of “luxury camps” run by large investors, Zeid's camp is one of the authentic ones. We are already planning our next visit there.
The trip was amazing! The people were very friendly and made sure we were comfortable. The food was amazing!! We did a jeep tour and also one with the camels 🐪and this was amazing!! I would highly recommend to do the trip with Bedouin Roads
We had an amazing experience with ‘Bedouin Roads’. The staff was super friendly and the food was delicious! The camp was very clean and comfortable, we were completely relaxed. Also the activities we did during the day were amazing! Thanks a lot 🥰
The jeep tour was really great! Especialy with the super friendly people and at the end with a beautiful sunset 🌞 Highly recommended.
We stayed two nights with Bedouin Roads and one of those nights we slept in their private cave under the stars, surrounded by candles. It was magical! We were the only two in the camp, which was a luxury. We did book a private tour for the two days we went out in the dessert which was a small additional fee and totally worth it. Our guide Ahmed was super kind, knew everything about the dessert and happy to answer our questions. He took us far into the dessert, which apparently many companies now don't do. I checked our location on google maps and we were almost at the border with Saudi Arabia at one point. Also in the night we really had a great view of the stars because the camp was actually located in the dessert, and not somewhere close to the edge of town or the highway where there is too much light pollution. By taking two days to tour the dessert we had time to visit less popular locations and the second day we barely saw any other people. You are away from just after breakfast (which is excellent, as are the meals) until after sunset, which you watch from a lovely and different location each evening. The english of Ahmed and his cousin Zaid are excellent. We also heard from many friends who went in past years that they had guides who barely spoke english and couldn't explain a thing. Bedouin Roads is owned and run by locals who have lived in and with the dessert for as far as they can remember. This reflects in what they can show and tell you.
From the very first message, communication was excellent – fast, friendly, and personal. The team customized the entire tour to our wishes, which made the experience truly unique. Our guide was extremely experienced and shared a lot of interesting insights about the desert, nature, and Bedouin life. During the tour, there was always flexibility – we could take our time at the viewpoints, walk a bit further than others, and really enjoy the silence and vastness of the desert. The camel ride, the jeep tour through the stunning rock formations, and the hike up Jebel Um Adaami were all unforgettable highlights. In the evening, we gathered around the fire, shared stories under a sky full of stars, and enjoyed a delicious traditional dinner cooked in an underground sand oven — absolutely amazing! Everything was perfectly organized, yet it never felt rushed. A truly authentic and memorable experience — highly recommended!
Fantastic in every respect. Did a 2 day, 1 night tour of Wadi Rum with jeep tour one day and then hike the next day with overnight at BR camp. Communication pre-trip was outstanding, and the experiences were amazing, from the tours of spectacular desert landscapes to the food and shelter at the camp. BR folks were gracious and kind hosts, the food was awesome, and the tents comfortable without being excessive (and plenty warm during the very cold desert evening). Highly, highly recommended for an amazing Wadi Rum experience.
Zaid has the ability to makes his travellers love this wonderful country and people who live inside. Always smile and helpful and very attentive to satisfy your every need 💐
The stay was really lovely. We reached the camp by camel, quietly enjoying the beautiful landscape of Wadi rum at sunset. The meals prepared were very good and plentiful. The communal tent for meals was very nice and cozy. The outdoor lounge for tea and chat very impressive. The sleeping tents were very basic (as they should be), but comfortable. The organization of visits was impeccable. In a day and a half (two nights) we did many things, accompanied by our educated, witty and very kind hosts. An unforgettable stay that I would like to do again.
We went to Jordan mainly to see Petra, but the tour with Bedouin Roads in Wadi Rum proved to be the highlight of our stay in Jordan. The people of Bedouin Roads were the first to offer desert tours in Wadi Rum; they are warm, professional and fun to be with. They respond quickly to questions and provide detailed information about their activities. Their beautiful camp is in a great place in the desert. They can easily add extra activities like more deep desert tours or a camel ride (as we did). We can highly recommend them!
We had a fabulous experience with the one night overnight desert tour. Our tour guide Ahmed was very thoughtful and kind. We said we wanted to go to quiet places and he took us to less frequented areas full of outstanding beauty. The camp was comfortable and the food was delicious. We highly recommend Bedouin Roads if you are looking for an authentic experience.
This is an authentic review. This is a great camp to stay in the desert. It is basic and therefore very authentic. Very clean, the food was great and the jeep tour in the desert was awesome. The Bedouin hosts are the most kind and knowledgeable people. They are also very punctual and reliable.
The landscape was amazing. The camp was spotlessly clean, and the Bedouins were very nice and friendly. We highly recommend a Wadi Rum experience with Bedouin Roads.
We were a family of 4 and we wanted to visit the desert in Wadi Rum, we went for the Bedouin road experience with Zaid, a very nice Bedouin guy, he speaks very good English and he knows his way in the desert very well of course and also the history of places that you can find in your way. He took us from his house with the jeep to the desert and we did many activities like hiking and camel riding which was amazing. He made us an amazing lunch that he cooked on the fire 🔥 We went to watch the sunset with him and he took as to an amazing spot were you can see a magical sunset. After that, we went to the big tent were we made a fire and sat around just chatting and we had a very delicious dinner (Bedouin style) and we dances on Bedouin music before we sleep. We were very lucky with him because in the morning he took us to a camel races which was so so so cool!! I recommend big time! I would give even more than 5 stars. Book with them with no hesitation.
We arranged a 2 day tour around Wadi Rum with Attayak and his great son, Zaid. They live in Rum village and we met at their offices before lunch. This ws really helpful as it meant we could drive down from Petra that morning. We had lunch in Attayak's house with him and his family, which was a great introduction to the place. We then headed out with Zaid into Wadi Rum in the back of his truck. Over the next two days, we went everywhere, right down towards the Saudi Border and to a few hidden sights. Zaid was a great guide and worked out that we were those annoying visitors who want to see and know e everything - and he delivered! A couple of highlights were sitting in the sand watching the sun go down whilst Zaid made tea on a bush fire and having supper, cooked under the sand, at their camp. We also chose to sleep out on the sand under the stars, which was fantastic. The camp they own is great with everything you need, so you are not fully roughing it - so, don't panic!
We had an amazing time in Wadi Rum! A warm welcome by Zaid with tea. We did a hike and a 4x4 jeep tour. We slept in a tent camp and our second night under the stars. We could enjoy delicious meals prepared by our guides and learned nice Bedouin songs. We alsof met their lovely camels. Zaid and Atala are very warm and kind people with whom you instantly build a connection. The best tour guide in town for your experience in Wadi Rum desert :)
I will come back to Bedouin Roads again and again and again. I love how they welcome guests and show them around the lands. The lodging is simple and comfortable. The meals are perfect and plentiful. I know when I visit I'll have a time of rest, peace, and awe in a beautiful desert, with amazing people. Thank you to the Zalabia family for another memorable experience
Awesome food, accommodations, and tour. Our guide zaid was very knowledgeable and the people were always hospitable. Would recommend to anyone coming to wadi rum
The food was Nice Don't forget a pull for the sunset I recommend doing the return of the trip by camel One day and half is enough
A full day and one night in the desert was a truly magic experience. My guide Zaid who is from Wadi Rum was very knowledgeable and shared some fabulous places off the beaten track with me. It was fantastic to view the Wadi Rum desert from the back of the jeep, climbing dunes and stone bridges and seeing camels in their natural habitat. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast at the camp and each meal was very good thanks to the excellent cook who prepared all meals. The dinner was traditionally cooked in the sand and tasted great. I would not wanted to have missed this experience. Thank you Zaid
It was one of the most beautiful experience of my life. I have absolutely no bad thing to say (and I’m French so imagine how good it was). My sister and I spent one day and one night there, we enjoyed the tour and the night in the camp. The desert was beautiful, we saw many different spots throughout the day. At night we were in the camp and ate traditional food cooked in the ground which was delicious. The night was quite cold but we are in winter it’s normal and they kindly gave us more blankets to make us more comfortable. All I can do is push you to choose them you won’t regret it. A special thanks to Zaid, our amazing guide for the day. We really liked everything you showed us and how kind you were to us (especially your singing skills). الله عونك
A small group of us went to the Wadi Rum in September and we had the best experience with the Bedouin Road team. We started our journey into the desert on camel back, followed by sunset and tea made by Zaid. At camp the tents were clean with a lovely dining area and good wash facilities. The food was delicious. We sat with Zaid by the fire and he spoke to us about the desert. It was a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. The next day Muhammed drove us through the desert, introduced us to all the camels, took us on a hike and cooked for us. He made sure we felt safe and supported during the hikes. Both Zaid and Muhammed were amazing hosts. Professional, welcoming and with a great sense of humour. We felt very comfortable them. It was fun to eat together and share stories in the evening! The Wadi Rum is a magical place. There’s nothing quite like the desert to shake off the troubles from everyday life and reconnect you to nature. The whole experience was fantastic. I would highly recommend Bedouin Roads. Thanks Zaid and Mohammed, we will 100% be back!
Outstanding experience. We hiked to the Arch, toured the desert by jeep, watched the sun set, had campfire lunches, slept in a desert cave and did a 4 hour camel trek. Our guide Mohammed was excellent. We had a super time and can't recommend Bedouin Roads enough. The booking and organising was really easy too.
This experience was completely amazing, everyone was so nice and we enjoyed so much. The food is very good, the vibes were amazing andddd we can see the Milky Way !!! Our guide, Zaid was incredibly nice and he showed us a lot of spots ! Thanks again I totally recommend it
Hospitality was amazing for our 2 nights in the camp . The place is beautiful we had a great time and made unforgettable memories . Highly recommend it !
Excellent experience, very respectful and they fulfilled everything they told me and more.
Incredible experience in the desert with our guide Zaid. Everything was perfect, the welcome, the discovery of the desert, the explanations. Zaid prepared delicious meals for us in the middle of the desert and we slept under the stars! We were able to observe the stars, the sky was magical! I want to highlight the kindness of our guide and his thoughtfulness! I really recommend this excursion!
Zaid and his cousin are on top. We had booked a 2-day jeep tour with overnight at the camp and guide. Their cuisine is delicious, even in the middle of the desert. They adapted to the rhythm of the family and took us to fabulous places, without anyone. To recommend if you are looking for a sublime experience.
Extremely detailed website, no unpleasant surprises about the Award or content of our two nights and full day stay. Answers questions very quickly and accurately. Warm welcome by Zeit who accompanied us. Very good command of English. Very present, while knowing how to remain discreet when necessary. Very good and hearty meal. Very comfortable tent. Clean toilets. A beautiful discovery of Wadi Rum.
We just had an unforgettable stay with Bedouin Roads. 1st night in very comfortable and clean tent. And second night under the stars in a place chosen by our Guide. It is extraordinary!! He's been taking care of us. He prepared us delicious hot and wholemeals even at the end of desert 😁. It is an extremely secure stay. Our Guide explained the desert and took us to different unforgettable places. I was afraid of the heat but he plans stops in the shade very often. I highly recommend this camp. No false Rating.
I visited twice, in June and August. Although it is a small camp, it is very quiet and cozy. Prices are also listed on the website, and you can exchange English messages on WhatsApp. Taxis from Petra Aqaba can also be arranged, so those travelling on their own to Wadi Rum can stay overnight with peace of mind. There's no internet or air conditioning, but that's what Desert Camp is all about. You can admire the starry sky to your heart's content in majestic nature. For dinner, you can eat "zarb", a traditional Bedouin dish. After completing the Zarub, they will show you how to pull it out of the soil. Optional Jeep and camel tours are available for an additional fee. On our Jeep tour, a young Bedouin boy showed us around Wadi Rum Nature Reserve in a Jeep. The full-day tour is a bit hot in the summer, but includes lunch and is Recommendation because it gathers dry grass and other ingredients on the spot to make simple dishes.
