Kalum has been a great safari tour guide. He has the eagle eye to spot animals on the way, the knowledge to give interesting insights, the decency to respect the elephants he knows how to find and he always goes for the extra mile rather it’s to show an amazing sunset or help getting transports all around the island. He’s a reliable and lovely guide we enjoyed spending time with and we highly recommend his services.

We had an excellent short safari to Minneriya National Park with Kalum Jeep Safaris and our driver/spotter Jeewan. They recommend we start the safari at 1pm and this way we avoided the tourist crowds all coming in at 3pm. We saw so many elephants and had them all to ourselves! Jeewan and Kalum Jeep Safaris were very professional, knowledgeable and respectful of the elephants which made the tour. The tour was excellent value and the fruit break at the end of the tour was a great bonus - would highly recommend Kalum and his team.

We love Kalum. What started out as a booking for an elephant safari (which was brilliant) ended up being a two week tour of central Sri Lanka. I think we will remember our trip with Kalum forever- by the end he had become family. I cried when we said goodbye. His kindness, his enthusiasm, his openness was more than we could have hoped for. We laughed, we had big conversations about culture and customs, and he taught my husband to take a good photo - so after 20 years together, I finally have a nice holiday picture. To anyone thinking of booking his elephant tour- book it. It was one of the most special experiences that we have ever had. But also, if you are looking for a guide for a longer trip Kalum is your person.

This was by far the BEST activity we experienced in Sri Lanka. Kalum had a brand new vehicle and was the most knowledgeable guide at the park. He pointed out lots of other animals besides the elephants. He was great at positioning us to get the best vantage point and also took great photos. Highly recommend!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience on this jeep safari tour. The communication beforehand was excellent and very clear, which already made us feel well taken care of before the tour even started. Our tour guide was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and he explained a lot about the animals we encountered. What we especially appreciated was how respectful he was toward the wildlife, always keeping a safe and considerate distance. He also chose routes away from the crowds, instead of lining up with all the other jeeps, which made the experience feel much more authentic and relaxed. On the way back, we stopped at a beautiful scenic viewpoint, where we took a break, enjoyed some snacks, and had a lovely conversation together. It was the perfect ending to an already amazing tour. Simply fantastic – highly recommended!

We had an amazing experience during our safari! Our guide was incredibly friendly – we felt safe and well taken care of the entire time. He was very knowledgeable and shared many interesting facts with us throughout the safari. We didn’t just see elephants (and there were plenty of them – from huge adults to tiny babies, even bathing in the lake!), but also other animals such as birds, mongooses, and chameleons. We still wonder how our guide managed to spot everything while driving at the same time. Even when the weather wasn’t perfect and the road was difficult, he handled everything perfectly and always took us to the best spots. He also paid great attention to details – he had cold water for us, quickly covered the roof when it started raining, and uncovered it again as soon as there was a chance to take good photos. My wife and I are very happy with the safari – it was one of the most beautiful experiences of our trip to Sri Lanka. We highly recommend it! 🐘🌿

All communication on Whatapp was efficient. Our jeep was comfortable. Our driver not only gave us great info about elephants, but also was a pro at anticipating the movements of the elephants and getting us parked in prime locations. We saw 87 elephants over the 2.5 hours we were in the park. He even stopped and pointed out some monkeys along the road on the way back. I was very happy with Kalum tours service.

We booked Kalum over What’s App. He was honest and easy to deal with. All commitments were followed through. We had a wonderful afternoon in Minneriya with Kalum and his driver. We saw 60 elephants plus other animals all at a safe , respectful distance. We also booked a trip to Polonnaruwa and a transfer to Kandy with Kalum’s company. All were paid by credit card. The guides , drivers and vehicles were excellent. Could not recommend this company highly enough.

Did the half day safari at Hurulu Eco Park as recommended by the guide. Our guide was on time, professional and knowledgeable - stopped to get us some snacks and bananas on the way too which was a warm gesture. We got to see many elephants up close, and our guide was not rushed, respectful of the animals and able to predict their movements. It was raining heavily on the day we had originally planned to do the safari, thankfully Kalum was flexible and easy to communicate with on WhatsApp and we managed to move it to the next morning. Overall a fantastic experience and would recommend!

We did the safari with Kalum and that was the best experience in our tour . There ware plenty of jeeps around and Kalum drove away from the crowd and saw us all the animals even the little camelions that very difficult to find.. 5* out of 5*

We had a superb experience at Minneriya park with Kalum Jeep Safari. First of all, they knew which park to select, because there are 4 parks in this area, and the elephants are migrating according to the seasons, and where the water is. The driver was very kind and pleasant. We saw hundreds of elephants, and a few other animals, thousands of birds, etc. We took the normal quality jeep (not luxury, but it was already luxury for us! I strongly recommend their service!

We had an amazing time at Minneriya with Thoshan. Counted at least 70 elephants in different spots. Thoshan also spotted a range of other wildlife for us including amazing birdlife, different types of monkeys and 2 jackal. I’m not entirely sure how he managed to 4wd as well as spot tiny birds out of the corner of his eye! He always managed to position the jeep in a good spot for us, weaving through others. Definitely recommend, we enjoyed this safari much more than yala.

We had an amazing time with Kalum Jeep Safari. We reserved two private half-day safaris to explore various parks nearby. The drivers skillfully approached the elephants, ensuring we could observe them up close without causing any disturbance. We were captivated by the sight of so many elephants that we lost count after reaching 100. It was a truly unforgettable experience. Communication with the manager was smooth and efficient. We highly recommend this experience!

Honestly the best tour guide out there, he was always the first to the elephants, all the other drivers were following his lead, he was safely getting close to the animals as permitted and because of him we had the best tour seeing the best animals, would 1000% recommend him, after the tour her also done a 8 hour round trip to make sure we got to Ella safely, an amazing person and and even better tour guide

We had 5 of us on our tour. WOW: Kallum is so knowledgeable and a total package of making sure you have a wonderful day in the safari park and found us animals that others didn't see. He at all times explained everything and knew the animals individually and we were lucky enough to even see the Tuska Elephant and have the animals within touching distance to the jeep. We were totally in awe and this was the extremely best thing we did in Sri Lanka by far. Kallum is a total gem, speaks perfect English and has been working within the park since he was 15 years of age and it showed and is a wonderful person also and sooo passionate about what he does. We have to give Kallum and his services and our experiences wiith him safari 20 out 10 and a 7 star review as he certainly went over and above to make our experience one ever so magical day. He even bought us drinks, had bottled water on board and spent extra time closer to dusk with us in the park so we can see the animals coming out later in the day and then dropped us off at our hotel later that night. We can't thank Kallum enough for our wonderful day in the park with him and highly recommend him and his safari tour so well worth booking with him, U will certainly not be disappointed. Kallum you rocked and we so enjoyed our day and would rebook again in a heart beat with Kallum. The best Jeep Safari Man - Kalum. It was a fantabulous experience with him. He told us about the elephants - their life span, food , all day activities, their movements, behavior etc. And the most striking moment was when he communicated with the elephants and they actually responded ( haha) . It was total fun seeing elephants doing so many activities from sooo near all because of Kalum. He is in this business for more than a decade and knows all the tactics of getting the best of elephant moments. And of course his driving skills left us awe struck. Kalum is just super awesome and very dedicated to his job. 100 stars for him .

We had a wonderful safari experience in the Hurulu Eco Park at Kalum's recommendation and guidance. We were almost the only ones in the park and got to see a lot of elephants up close. Kalum is a great guy, very friendly and very knowledgeable. Apart from the safari, we used Kalum's services a couple of times including visits to Pidurangale and to Polonnaruwa. Totally recommend!

Best safari tour to recommend - we went a little earlier to avoid the rush of jeeps. Kalum was very informative and friendly. Provided delicious pineapple and unlimited water supply. Made sure we saw plenty of elephants.

Myself and my dad had a brilliant safari trip with Kalum. We met him near the park and he drove us to Hurulu national park. We saw many elephants and Kalum was always careful to stay away from too many other tourist vehicles, anticipating where the elephants would go. He was a very experienced guide and I’d highly recommend! We had a stop with water and pineapple Kalum had brought with him. My dad had a bad back and Kalum was careful to drive slowly for him also.
