Tasting Tour: A Taste Of Antwerp (Fries, Waffles, Beer & More)

An excellent informative tour, with a friendly and very well mannered Henry. With Henry being local guide he exceeded our expectations. Also advised us to pre book our restaurant for dinner. We were pleased we did as the restaurant was absolutely packed and the food and staff at de 7 shackles where amazing.

What a great tour! Learned about Antwerp. Ate some great food. Saw the city. Luc N was an incredible guide! Would absolutely recommend to anyone in Antwerp.

Luc D was a personable guide. We are our way around Antwerp trying those local specialties. He even accompanied us to a local tavern at the conclusion of our tour and answered all of our questions.

Fun quick tour. Guide was fantastic, witty and very knowledgeable on many topics. He made multiple recommendations on follow up stops and where we had samples were quality locations with good reviews. I’ll share this next part just to temper expectations. At least on our tour, the beer part of the tour was a quick stop and explanation outside a brown pub at end of tour. You’re given a voucher and can return later for one sample. We came back a few hours later and purchased a flight, we didn’t use voucher or let bar man know we were part of tour. I mention that because regardless, the bar tender sat down with us and explained the beers. Very informative and great intro to different beers.

Luc N was very good, knowledgeable and friendly. Really enjoyed the tour. It didn't feel rushed and I definitely felt I got all the information from the tour.

Our guide Luc N. was completely awesome. Honestly I had low expectations but our guide Luc made all the difference and was one of best experiences we've had with any guide, his general knowledge of Antwerp, history and many stories & his wonderful sense of humor. I thought the tour was underpriced because we definitely received more than we expected from this experience, great value.

It was a good little tour to grab a taste of Belgium. But we didn’t get this try any beer on the tour. Instead we got a voucher for a sample at a place we had to come back to an hour later. Would not have done this tour if I had known that.

Was a wonderful time with LucD. Even though only two of us he proceeded with the tour. Started with waffles and then fries and of course alcohol and then beer. Was a great experience. LucD is very entertaining and also very knowledgeable. We then proceeded to book another historic tour with him. We learnt so much about Antwerp and would love to come back to explore more. I highly recommend LucD for any tours you take.

It was a nice walking tour with some tastings. Learned some history but mostly about the establishments visited. Luc B was funny and engaged!

Luv was an entertaining guide and provided excellent commentary at each stop. The tasting choices were excellent however the location where we were to have sampled the local beer was closed so we did not have the opportunity to do that which was disappointing. A refund for a portion of the tour would be aproproiate.

This is a short intro to Belgian food with a couple of tastings. Only actually went inside 1 establishment. Tour guide Luc D was very good. Gave us a voucher to use for the beer tasting as place was closed so that was bit of a bummer.

We had a fantastic tour with Luc D. All the samples were delicious (waffles, fries, chocolate, biscuit, beer - and a special taste of Elixir d’Anvers at a cut rate) and it was wonderful to learn more about Belgium’s signature dishes. Never again will we say “french” fries (but we may still use ketchup). Luc D. was engaging and informative and shared his extensive knowledge with us. At the end our two disparate groups of four met up again for our final beer taster (and more).

We had a small group so we could ask all the questions we wanted, which was nice. Highly recommend if you have time and want to try delicious food and learn about their history.

Great tour, lovely 1.5 hours to taste the Belgian/Antwerp specialities and get some reccs for shops. Berens was informative and very kind. Would do again, or another tour with him if we had time!

We had an amazing time on our tasting tour. Our guide, Flip, was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and shared fascinating insights into its culture, history, and food culture. I highly recommend this tour - our 9-year-old daughter thoroughly enjoyed it.

Sylvie our guide for this walking tour was really good! Very informative, friendly & full of finer details. Enjoyed the Belgian elixir’d’Anvers a post dinner aperitif & the waffles & chips too. A good introduction to Belgian favourite snacks! Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Antwerp

Just a wonderfull Guided tour

A great tour with Luc D. He was very friendly and enjoyable to listen to. We sampled some waffles, chocolate, fries and a very nice liquor (the liquor cost us an extra €2.50 each but this is much cheaper than in other venues). We were very content and did not need lunch afterwards! We were so happy with the tour that Luc D held, that we also joined his afternoon tour about the history of Antwerp, which we also enjoyed.

My wife and I went around with Luc D. A lovely local. Who took us on a tour around the historic centre of Antwerp. On the tour we were treated to a history lesson on Belgian waffles (there are Brussels and Lierse versions), with samples. We had a nice sample of the best Belgian fries I've ever tasted, a sample of a herby liquor called 'Elixir D'anvers' (note, you do need to pay extra for this, but a shot here is a lot cheaper than in any bar). We were also given a voucher for a free sample of a locally brewed beer called 'Bolleke' which was delicious, although the tour happened when the bar was closed, so we had the samples later on. The tour doesnt last that long, but its highly informative and the samples provided are very good. It was a lovely birthday treat for me, and I highly recommend it

Luc D took my wife and I around the historic centre of Antwerp in a small group. Whilst on the trip we were treated to the best of Belgian food. Waffles (where we learned that there is a difference between Brussels and Lierse style waffles),frites, we also had a taster of Elixir D'anvers ( a herby liquor) which was delicious. We were also given a voucher for a free sample of Bolleke beer, a wonderful locally brewed beer This was a wonderful birthday treat and I highly recommend this trip
