Historical Walking Tour In Antwerp Old City

Britt, our guide, was fabulous. We learnt a lot, but the atmosphere was the best: warm, informative, full of humour. A great group, too. The pick-up point near the Steijn could have been more pleasant thanks to a sewer being emptied, but that wasn't something Britt had influence upon. Would do it again anytime.

Our guide, Johann, was very versed on Antwerp’s history. The pace of the tour was casual and time was given to take a quick look into various stops along the way.

Shab Nam was an amazing guide for our Historical Walking Tour in Antwerp Old City. She knew the history inside out, and she had a way of explaining it that actually stuck. Instead of just listing dates and names, she connected the stories to the streets we were standing on, so the city started to make sense in a different way as we went along. What really set the tour apart was her humor. She kept the whole walk light and funny without losing the history, and her timing was spot on. There were plenty of moments when the whole group was laughing, and that energy carried through the tour. It never felt like a lecture, even when she was sharing a lot of detail. She was also great with questions. When someone asked about something, she didn't brush it off or give a short answer. She took the time to explain it properly and often added another bit of context that made the first answer even clearer.

We had Sergio as our tour guide. There were 8 of us. Sergio is entertaining and a wonderful guide. The two hour walk was full of information and I enjoyed it thoroughly. We saw so much and learned much about the history of Antwerp. I would highly highly recommend this tour.

The tour was booked as being with a local but he really isn't. Tour was very much a canned speech with pictures. It was okay but not really as good as some others we had on our trip.

This was such a great and informational tour of Antwerp! Our tour guide did such a great job explaining the history of the city and gave great recommendations on things to do and different foods to try. I feel badly that I forget her name, but she was Indian so shout out to her, you know who you are! Lol

Imabnam was a fantastic guide who was very informative and amusing when telling us all the stories regarding the city

Knowing about the place was good but the guide was not up to standard. He is tall and has long strides and was ignorant of people who were falling behind. Didn’t check back to see if the group was together. Crossed roads without even making sure the whole group was together. We spent time trying to catch up rather than enjoying the tour. A good guide makes a whole lot of difference. On top of this, he wanted minimum of 10 euro per person

Walking tour with Johan was good, the tour was more focused on local legends and stories than historical events and people. Overall a fair tour for the price

Informative, interesting & guided well. Sergio clearly knows his stuff & is passionate about the city too. He was happy to answer questions about modern day living as well as the historical aspects. Recommendations for bars always a great bonus too. We did this tour on our first morning & it set us up for how to prioritise our time for the rest of the stay.
