We had a terrible reception when we arrived. They made us to park our car elsewhere since they said SUVs wouldn’t fit in the parking lot, but there was more than enough space. We had a lot of luggage with us and with two small kids dragged all of it across the busy centre to the hotel, then moved our car into the car park after convincing them it would fit. Such a waste of time. The breakfast was terrible, breakfast area is quite stuffy as well. The bathrooms were stuffy no ventilation.

The hotel welcomed us nicely when we arrived, but unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. Our room was dirty and full of hair. Since we arrived late at night, we decided not to make an issue of it immediately. The staff did come to clean the room the following day, but even after the cleaning, the balcony still had a terrible smell. The breakfast was extremely limited and disappointing. After that one cleaning, housekeeping simply stopped coming. Our room was not cleaned again, our towels were not replaced, and we were not even given fresh ones. We had to deal with everything ourselves. At some point, it felt like the only thing missing was for the hotel to ask us to wash the towels ourselves too. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel unless you want to continue doing household chores during your vacation instead of relaxing and enjoying the service a hotel is supposed to provide. This level of cleanliness and service is completely unacceptable. Leonardo, you should be ashamed.
I had a terrible experience with Leonardo Hotel when I was booked in by an Airline on 2.6.2026 due to flight cancellation. I was told that dinner was over when I got there that night. Next, I was given a key to my room without any orientation but was told to vacate the room by 12pm the next day when my next flight was scheduled for 21:35 hours. The issue was on the next day, 3.6.2026. I went downstairs around 10am to reception and asked for breakfast and the man at the reception told me that my booking by the airline didn’t include breakfast. I showed him the email and he said breakfast was over but I could go and grab something quickly which did. To cut the long story short, I requested that my dinner which the airline issued vouchers for be packaged for me since I had to leave the hotel room by noon. The manager at the reception told me that I am not allowed to take food out of the hotel, I am only allowed to eat there. I was shocked and disappointed and left empty handed. When I got to the airport, my colleagues who went to other hotels in the same area were having their dinners nicely packaged and told me about the great experience they had with their hotels. Why was I treated differently by Leonardo Antwerpen hotel? What happened to the dinner voucher issued by the airline?
This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. If there were a negative rating option, I would absolutely use it. From the moment we entered the room, it was clear something was very wrong. The air was damp and had a strong, unpleasant smell. The ceiling—especially in the bathroom—was covered in mould, which is completely unacceptable and a serious health risk, particularly since we were travelling with children. I immediately contacted reception to request a room change, but they refused, claiming there were no available rooms. Basic amenities were also missing. There was no tissue paper in the room. When I called the service desk, I was told that due to staff shortages, I had to come downstairs to collect it myself. At reception, the staff member handed me a few loose tissues by hand. When I questioned this, pointing out that it was unhygienic, she simply said they didn’t have tissue boxes and suggested I go outside and buy one if I wanted it. This is completely unacceptable for any hotel. The situation became even worse when another male staff member aggressively swore at me during the interaction. I felt genuinely threatened and had to leave the reception area quickly. This kind of behaviour is shocking and unprofessional. The parking situation is also terrible. The access ramp is extremely steep and very narrow, making it difficult and stressful to manoeuvre and park. The room facilities were equally disappointing. The heating and cooling system is centrally controlled and cannot be adjusted properly in individual rooms. In early April, there was only cooling available and no heating, which made the room uncomfortable. On top of that, the fridge and hairdryer were not working, and the TV could not connect to the network. Overall, this hotel fails on every basic standard—cleanliness, safety, service, and functionality. I would strongly advise others to avoid this place.
Great location. Friendly personnel. The rooms were clean. The window in our room was damaged due to age probably and was in need of fixing. We informed the reception of this. The breakfast was just fine, it was not that great. It was not worth the additional price especially as your in the middle of city center.
