Swim With Turtles

The whole team was very friendly in getting us setup to snorkel with the turtles, and our guide was very committed to making sure we saw as many different marine life a possible as well as the sunken ships off the harbour bay.

Great experience! First of all we were late! Didnt click the small "show quoted text" in gmail to see pickup time. Renick came back for us and still made it happen. We did regular snorkeling, but next time Im trying the power scooter snorkel. We brought full-face masks which dont let you dive, but they do provide everything. I wished I had switched to a reg mask. We saw turtles, good coral and fish by the reef, and the topper was the spotted eagle ray which is very rare they say. The rum tastings from the "Taste of Rum" next door was a nice way to finish.

Highly recommend, highlight of the holiday. Guides were superb, as was the sealife.

We had the best time snorkeling! Our guide was amazing! He took beautiful photos ( which are free and sent via Dropbox to your email), kind, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to follow!

This was the highlight of our vacation. Bernie was our host, he was amazing in so many ways. Friendly, caring, informative, fun and made our excursion wonderful. I had an ear issue and he took the time to help me with it. It was the best snorkeling we have ever done, and we have traveled to many islands and Hawaii. The water was beautiful and clear, I swam along with about 5 turtles " who were just so mesmerizing" and a spotted sting ray. We saw so much more - we can not thank you enough! A real asset to this business

A great visit. My wife and myself were the only people on the experience that we booked. Unfortunately the visibility was not the best, but our guide ensured that we saw everything we could. As I am not such a strong swimmer I was provided with a buoyancy aid which was very helpful. We saw four turtles and a ray along with numerous different types of fish. All the photos taken by our guide were provided to us via a Dropbox facility.

This was by far my favourite experience during our stay in Antigua. Our driver was friendly and informative. We ended up upgrading our experience from a regular swim / snorkel to the scooters / snorkel and were so pleased we did. Our guide gave a really good briefing to ensure we had the right equipment to match our abilities, ensured we were okay and were getting the best from our experience throughout. The tour included spotting some turtles, we saw a couple of rays, went around the wreck and along the rocks where there was an amazing diversity of corals and fish to see. Back at the beach, we didn't feel rushed to get changed and head off - there was a restroom and we were offered drinks including rum. The guide took photos of the tour which were shared with us via Dropbox to keep as soon as we got back to shore. Would definitely recommend.

Pick up from our resort was so convenient and the staff was so friendly. The 1 hour of snorkeling was action packed and we saw so much marine life! Family ages 11 and up, all did very well.

We were very excited for this excursion. It was very easy to book. I received great information and exact details about pickup - including driver name and direct contact number - and everything that was needed/included before the excursion day. I felt secure and well taken care of. My calls/texts were quickly responded to and all questions answered. Unfortunately, our flight from Barbuda to Antigua was canceled along with all flights off the island- we found out it's a common occurrence, so travelers be aware! Sadly, there was no way for us to make it to our 2pm snorkeling adventure. I immediately called Nicole at Swimming with Turtles and she was kind and understanding, advised me to reach out to Viator to request a refund. Although, it was not 24 hour in advance Nicole gave Viator the ok to reimburse my excursion. Her understanding or the situation and Viator's great customer service made a bad and stressful situation more tolerable. I quickly received my money back. Although I can't speak on the excursion, I can say that the customer service team at Swimming with Turtles was GREAT! You are in good hand.

Swimming with the turtles adventure was spectacular. Our personal guide, Rex, was very friendly, considerate and extremely knowledgeable. This was the absolute BEST snorkeling adventure we have done, and we’ve done quite a bit of snorkeling in many places!! Rex and the whole crew were amazing from pick up to drop off! Thanks for a great adventure!

Rex our guide was very knowledgeable and made us feel very safe. We saw Turtles, a Ray, sea cucumber and beautiful fish. Loved snorkelling around the wreck.

By far one the best snorkeling experiences I've had. The staff was very personal Bernie an Renick were patience, charming and enjoyable!! If you want a nice chill excursion but not a lot of hoop jumping this would be it. Walk out off the beach find the coves and areas where there's the turtles come back in.

The tour was amazing and the kids loved it. I will say that it’s not descriptive enough and while you snorkel from the shore- You go out in very deep water.

This is a personal and small group number trip with good equipment, a proper briefing and a tour that ensures you see a lot without being rushed for time. We've also been sent a great file of photos. This trip is very different to cheaper trips where you are on a tourist conveyor belt. More than happy to recommend

This is one of the best times you will have on the island of Antigua. The sea life is absolutely amazing and the people who run the show are incredible. My wife and I opted for snorkeling minus the scooters and we were not disappointed at all. We had the opportunity to swim with Bernie as our guide. Bernie could tell I was very hesitant at first (I am not a great swimmer, and deep waters freak me out... note that the water is not all that deep). Bernie was so patient and understanding. By the time the tour was done, I was swimming on my own, thanks to his patience and encouragement. As for the tour itself, we saw many sea turtles, an eagle ray, sea cucumbers, sea urchins, coral, a shipwreck, and tons of fish! We recommend this experience 150%! Thank you, Bernie!

This was our favorite excursion during our vacation. We got to see so many turtles, fish, and corals. You can tell the guides really enjoy their jobs and want to make it a great experience. Also enjoyed getting to talk with our driver to/from the beach and during the snorkeling and learn so much about Antigua. Pictures came out great and we got them the same night. Thank you to Bernie, Ishmael and Shamil for making this such an enjoyable experience. Couldn’t recommend enough!

My wife and I did the Swim With Turtles Snorkeling (not scooter version) with Scooter Snorkeling Antigua. It was truly amazing. Our guide was super knowledgeable and patient. The patience was key to the success in finding the sea life. We saw 4 or 5 Turtles, a couple sting rays, an eagle ray, Lion fish and much more. They take amazing photos for you so you dont need to worry about bringing anything. I highly recommend doing this tour if you ever want to see the beauty under water in Antigua

If you have any hesitation about snorkeling, Bernie/Skylork are the people to go to! They are true pros, have deep love for snorkeling and marine life, and are so warm and welcoming. Bernie helped us find the right tour for my cautious kiddo with such patience and understanding. We chose Swim With Turtles as a comfortable tour to start with, but a scooter tour went out at the same time and everyone on that tour was raving about it. You can’t go wrong with either! Everything is explained, gear is fitted carefully, and our guide, Rennick, was so exuberant, experienced and patient. His enthusiasm was infectious, and the two kids and an adult non-swimmer on tour all felt safe and comfortable in the water with him. We saw turtles, sting ray, ship wreck and lots of fish. Rennick took a load of photos of the group and what we saw that are priceless, and included in the price of the tour. I couldn’t recommend them more. Thanks, Bernie and Rennick!

We had a lovely time on the tour. Rex was our guide who was a gentleman. He didn't realise that he would be dragging around two OAPs on that day! He was patient and helped us do something that we wouldn't otherwise have done :-)

We chose this tour as I’ve always wanted to see turtles in their natural habitat. Scooter snorkelling team were amazing. They picked us up from near the cruise port and drove us there. We explained to the team that we had to be back by 5pm as we were on a cruise ship. The staff were amazing, they explained everything and Rex took us out as soon as we were ready and Bernie told us not to worry about timings as he was taking us back and would make sure we were back by 5pm. This meant we could actually relax and enjoy the snorkelling. Rex took me and my husband out and was patient in helping me put on my flippers and when my own mask broke he ran up to the centre to get me one of their ones. He made sure we were both happy and safe throughout the session and always asked if we ok. We saw many fish, a stingray and two large turtles. Rex was determined to find them for us to see. He took many photos too so we didn’t have to take a camera. He kept a check on the time throughout. I felt very safe with Rex as I can become quite nervous in the water. When we retuned to the office, they showed us where the bathroom and showers were and offered us a drink. They explained that they were going to put towels on the seats so we could get straight off back to the port. Bernie drove me and my husband back and gave us lots of information about the island, we arrived back by 4.45pm Thank you so much to Rex and Bernie for a wonderful experience, you made us feel very safe and it felt like a very personable activity. I would highly recommend you to everyone who has the pleasure of visiting Antigua. A beautiful place with beautiful people. Thank you once again.

Absolutely amazing experience start to finish. Nicole was a great communicator and Bernie and his team did a wonderful job driving us to the location, instructing us on the area, fitting us properly with the equipment, and patiently teaching us how to proceed and what to expect. We were newbies and I always felt safe and looked after. The best part? We saw several sea turtles and hundreds of fish! Highly recommend this experience!

These guys were very friendly and professional. You are pretty much guaranteed to see turtles in this spot. The turtles are feeding in the bottom of the bay. Snorkel right off the beach. No boat ride needed to access the turtles.

Bernie’s Snorkeling in Antigua is truly one of the best experiences we’ve had! As non-swimmers, we were initially hesitant, but Bernie was incredibly patient and supportive throughout the entire trip. He stayed with us the whole time, guiding us through the water and ensuring we felt comfortable. Thanks to his expertise, we got to see stunning shipwrecks, vibrant marine life, and even turtles up close. It was an unforgettable adventure, and we highly recommend it to anyone—whether you’re a beginner or an experienced snorkeler!

We signed up to do the Swimming With Turtles tour with Scooter Snorkelling but upgraded our experience to their awesome Scooter Snorkelling Tour for an extra USD 30 per person when we arrived, as we had not know about that tour when we booked. The team were extremely flexible and accommodating in letting us do this and we were super grateful, as it was unforgettable. The pick up and drop off were bang on time and it was an easy short drive from our hotel in English Harbour to the team’s base on Galleon’s Beach. The whole crew had a warm, family feel, with a super friendly welcome. The team took us through a professional, clear, and detailed. instructional briefing. The ensured they understood our self-assessed confidence in the water and took great care to ensure that we had the right equipment and that it fitted correctly, even helping us to negotiate creating a water seal on our masks with Vaseline, due to our facial hair! The main part of the tour lasts an hour and we were accompanied into the sea from the beach and given time to familiarise ourselves with our water scooters before we headed off for adventure. Our guides took us out over shipwrecks, we saw enormous turtles, all manner of marine life, and the Pillars of Hercules. Throughout the excursion, the team checked in on us and ensured that we felt safe and confident in the water. They also took brilliant photographs of the things we saw and of us on the tour, for free, meaning that we could concentrate on being fully immersed in the experience, safe in the knowledge that we had wonderful mementoes of this unforgettable tour. Zooming around under the waves was so brilliant, it was like being in some kind of James Bond caper! It also enabled us to go much further than we could swim and to see which was fantastic. We would totally recommend this tour and company. They are the best!

Our children, ages 7 and 9, were reluctant to try snorkeling. Our 9 yo is autistic and also has a lot of anxiety. Being on vacation was already outside his comfort zone. We brought cheap snorkeling masks to try out in the pool and that went pretty well. Still, he kept saying he wouldn't go snorkeling with us. We asked the tour desk for suggestions, and they pointed to working with Bernie. They said he'd be very gentle and encouraging. Long story short, both kiddos went snorkeling and had a GREAT TIME. While the water wasn't as clear as it usually is, it was still a wonderful time. Our 9 yo was the only one to see a turtle; it was such a treat. He'd definitely be open to doing this again. Bernie made the process so easy. He gave both kids vests to make floating easy. As adults, we didn't need them and were quite buoyant, so much so that my wife had a hard time going down to get closer to the shipwreck. My only regret is I'm very, very nearsighted and stopped wearing contacts years ago. Still, it was a nice family outing.

Great thing to do when you are visiting Antigua. They pick you up, drop you off and lead you on a guided scooter snorklling adventure where you will see turtles, stingrays and possibly eagle rays. Snorkel out to the Pillars of Hercules for a nice photo and enjoy your time in the warm waters of Antigua

This excursion was one of the hardest we have ever done. We are fit and to snorkel out and back against the current was ver tough. We had no idea the distance to and from. We only saw 2 turtles and would not recommend this to someone that would need A break. The guide was very good and the place was very disorganized and didn’t know who was doing what excursion. We had people in our group after learning the swim distance did not do it. It was an experience that I would never do again.

Absolutely Amazing! This was a dream come true, we swam with turtles, stingray and the most amazing fish and sea life. We went out with one other couple and the collection and drop off was included so this was seamless. This is a day that will stay with us for a lifetime, it was a dream come true and what a bonus to be emailed the photos within a few days! We travelled with a 16 and 13 year old and we can’t recommend this trip enough, we had so much fun! Mark, Cassie, Tom & Emily.

Really cool experience saw tons of fish, a shipwreck and 4 turtles. Included transportation is a plus. The normal scooters are awesome but the upgrade is worth it to someone who is very comfortable with diving etc

This experience was unbelievable. To be so close to turtles in their natural environment is something I will never forget. We also saw hundreds of tropical fish and a string ray when the tour guide helpfully disturbed it from its hiding place in the sand! The power scooters were a novelty. I would highly recommend. The price included a pick up from our accommodation.

The excursion was amazing! The staff were fantastic and took and sent pictures for us and sent them which was awesome. We were able to see 6 sea turtles and many other amazing scenes / marine life. It was a nice long excursion as well and we did not feel rushed at all! I would Recommend!!

We saw everything advertised and more. The reef was in very good shape, unlike some of the spots we explored on the warmer Caribbean side of the island. The equipment was all quality. Our guides were very knowledgeable.

What an experience ! Saw lots of turtles , octopus and jelly fish ! Along with schools of tropical fish. If you’re visiting Antigua this is a must do trip. The guys running this are really friendly and helpful ! Cheers !

This was amazing. I had a great host Damon who picked me up from my aunt’s home. We had great conversations and he made sure I had everything I needed. He provided safety instructions and observed us snorkeling before we went out. It was my first time snorkeling with a scooter but it was fun. We saw lots of colorful fish, turtles, stingrays, etc. We also saw the pillars of Hercules which was amazing. Damon ensured one of the tourist’s daughter was fine and took her safely to shore once she got scared of the waves. So he was very attentive to each person’s needs and made sure we each had a good time. He even walked us over to get up close photos with the pillars. Great experience and a must do in Antigua!

Damon was a great guide, he makes sure you’re safe while having a blast. We saw turtles , sting rays and many tropical fish. I highly recommend !!
