We had the best time with Jensen and Sativa. We were the only two on the tour and it was Fantastic. First we kayaked through the mangroves and Sativa gave us a great education about the lagoon. Next we met up with Jensen and our gear and boarded the boat to the reefs. The water was beyond beautiful and the fish were a sight to see. After snorkeling, we took a ride in the boat and ate a provided snack that hit the spot. Not to mention the drinks😉 Lastly, we kayaked back through the mangroves to our starting point. It was so great! If you're looking to book, don't hesitate, it's SO worth it!

Itinerary
Fig Tree drive is the best drive in Antigua! Fig is basically the Antiguan name for bananas, but the road is lined with lots of tropical fruit trees such as guavas, mangoes, oranges, and coconuts. Fig Tree Drive in Antigua is the major road opposite the pink coral Catholic Church just outside the town of Liberta, north of Falmouth. An Amazing view!
Guests can enjoy kayaking through the scenic lagoon to admire the lush mangroves, which are truly unique in our region.
Explore Antigua's amazing marine life and crystal-clear waters at Cades Reef, which is considered one of the island's top snorkel sites. This 2-mile (3.2km) long reef is home to many sea creatures, including turtles, barracuda, and moray eels

Excellent experience. Kayaking through the mangroves is a must! Sativa & Captain Jay were great guides Snack, lunch & rum punch were icing on the cake!
My host Terry was so kind and knowledgeable about the island! The company provided pick up and drop off from Five Islands. Our host provided us historical facts along the way. One of the best tours I’ve ever taken hands down! The mini orientation prior to the excursion was delivered with enthusiasm. Captain James from the snorkeling excursion is full Of joke, great sense of humor and a great swimmer. I defiantly felt safe in the water during my snorkeling activity with James. Finger food and beverages provided while on the boat
Such a great experience from start to finish. Terry picked us up from our air bnb and went above and beyond to show us his beautiful country on the way to the snorkeling spot. Kevin was also very funny and made us feel safe during our snorkeling. -Jake & Nina
I booked this tour a month in advance of my trip and provided my pickup location at the time of booking. A week before my departure, I called to personally confirm all arrangements, including transportation, and was assured that everything was set and that my location was within the pickup area. Unfortunately, just two days before my scheduled activity, everything changed. I was informed they would no longer honor the pickup arrangement that had already been discussed, provided, and confirmed weeks earlier. Because of this last-minute issue, I had no choice but to cancel my booking. The most frustrating part is that this could have easily been avoided if the staff responsible for confirming reservations were properly informed about the company’s pickup policies and procedures. Guests rely on accurate information when planning activities during a limited vacation window. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and, in my opinion, the situation was handled poorly. Better communication, training, and accountability are needed so future guests do not have their plans disrupted at the last minute.
We had a great experience. Sativa took us through the mangroves and snorkeled with us. He was very informative and showed us all kinds of local sea life. Jensen was our boat driver and he was fabulous. Super nice and funny. And Terry, our Driver. picked us up at the hotel and brought us back, made a few stops along the way. He was amazing. I can’t say enough. We had a wonderful day.
Absolutely brilliant days experience kayaking through the Mangroves then speedboat to Cades Reef & snorkelling experience. Our guides were brilliant, pleasant, funny & engaging & very knowledgeable. I cannot recommend this trip enough.
The entire experience was extraordinary! South Coast Horizons is amazing! We were picked up by Terry at our resort and he was amazing! Knew the island well and even took us to some shops on our way back! Our Kayak / Snorkel instructor was extremely knowledgeable with years of experience we felt very safe! Bring bug spray for the mangrove kayaking ! The boat driver was a hoot and equally as knowledgeable as our instructor- they took us out to the reef by boat and you jump in right from there! They keep eyes on you the entire time swimming in the open ocean and it’s absolutely breathtaking! 5 stars plus 2!!!
Very cosy, and since we booked of season it was a “private” tour. Very nice guide and driver, that just made the trip better. Huge plus that they did support being environmentally careing.
Wonderful trip through the mangrove to the beach and a short boat ride out to Cades reef. Lots of fish and crabs seen including an Eagle Ray and Baracudas
I accidentally rated this excursion as 1 star! Many apologies. I meant it to be a 5 star review. Wife and I really enjoyed it. The staff and organization of the tour was excellent indeed! Would definitely recommend it. Of the 5 excursions we did on the cruise, this would be the one we’re likely to repeat.
This is a pretty low-key tour. The kayak through the mangroves is fairly short but nice. Snorkeling is also nice, but not life changing. This would be a nice tour for beginners or those who want something simple that doesn’t take the whole day. The snacks at the end was a nice touch.
We had a great time kayaking through mangroves. The snorkeling was good. We saw a lot of fish and several sea turtles. The staff kept a close watch over everyone. They provide snorkel, mask, and fins. They also provide a floatation device. You take a van ride to get to the mangrove, get on the kayaks and paddle for about 15 minutes. Then you get on a boat for about 10 minutes to the reef. We snorkeled for about 30 minutes. All of the staff was great.
The kayaking was super cool but unfortunately because of the strong winds the snorkeling was disappointing.
Friendly staff but overall not worth the price. The kayaking is maybe a 20-minute round trip. Unfortunately, the wind that day made conditions unsafe to snorkel the reef. It might be better on a sunny day, but still not worth the price.
We had an amazing time on this trip! Going during the quieter period meant that it was only the two of us on the trip that day, and our guides made it extra special for us. The kayaking portion of the trip was brilliant and Sativa even took us out to Cades Bay to spot a few turtles! He was full of knowledge and told us all about the mangroves and the crabs which we also managed to spot. We had a great time snorkelling at Cades Reef and felt safe the entire time. Our guides were great at pointing out sea life when they spotted things, meaning we saw multiple huge rays and some amazing fish! Afterwards we kayaked back to the start where there were local snacks and rum punch waiting for us. We really enjoyed chatting with the whole team and purchased a few things from the gift shop. All in all an amazing experience and one we would definitely do again! You won’t be disappointed if you book this trip!
The staff is amazing and kept us laughing the whole time. The mangroves were beautiful, but bring your bug spray. The bugs will get you through the mangroves. Unfortunately, we couldn’t go to the reef because the waves and currents were too strong today. We greatly appreciated the staff being cautious. I still enjoyed the snorkeling and was able to see a huge manta ray. The snacks were delicious and they had the best rum punch on the island.
It was great. They were informative and helpful. They were even better with the ones who needed extra attention kayaking and snorkeling
We enjoyed kayaking through the mangroves our tour guide was vey informative.
Unfortunately, we were unable to do the tour because they had another tour that they couldn't get through on time and we had to return to our ship. The tour driver tried to show us various sites while we waited for the other group to finish, but after two hours of driving around and no audio as to what we were seeing we went back to the ship. The tour company did refund our money and was apologetic for the inconvenience.
I was picked up promptly from my hotel and was pleased that I was with a smaller group of about 12 people. The kayaking through the mangroves was nice - and wish this part of the outing was longer since I love kayaking. We were then taken out to Cades Reef. Was a windy and choppy day on the water so we needed to be very comfortable in these conditions and swimming against the current was a bit strenuous. However we got to see a lot of colorful and interesting fish. I enjoyed the outing, the crew, and my fellow adventurers. We were given a snack and yummy rum punch when we returned. 👍
We had a great time on our tour Terry and all the folks involved were awesome. Very kind funny and charismatic folks. The it was stunning and will definitely recommend to anyone who visits!
This was so much fun. The mangrove kayaking was really cool. The boat captain had A+ dad jokes and we saw lots of fish
Such a fun time. Loved the kayaking and snorkelling! Guides were fantastic, highly recommend to all.
You need to be a good swimmer. Currents are strong. The guide was very informative and experienced. Safety was high on their list.
Hands down a great time. Amazing guides, well planned, fun, friendly, and oh so relaxing. Couldn’t have asked for anything more!
Kayaking and snorkeling were absolutely beautiful and the tour guides were very accommodating and kind
This was a highlight of our trip. Our family including 7 year old had a great time, felt safe and had a ton of fun. All the equipment was in good shape, and the instructors were friendly and knowledgeable. Shout out to our captain Jensen and our snorkel diver (forgot his name) but also great. Worth every penny.
I wanna give them two extra stars so it’s a seven star review… friendly, fun, attentive, safety minded couldn’t have been better
I've enjoyed many snorkeling excursions; but this one was by far the most enjoyable time. As the only member of the group leaving the St. John's pier from my ship, I road the 45-minute drive to the southern end of Antigua in the cab of the excursion Jeep with my driver and guide, Essan. Not only was he a friendly, thoughtful, and considerate guide, but I learned he was also a World Class professional cricketeer, playing for the Beddington Cricket Club in Surrey, England, as well as the Leeward Islands and Antiguan professional club teams. After a lovely drive through farm fields, small towns, and coastal panoramas, including a view of Montserrat across the water, we arrived at the beach to board 2-person kayaks for a serene paddle through the mangroves, finally beaching the crafts, shedding our shoes, and skimming over the waves to the reef. Excellent equipment was provided, and the group was guided to a serene hour of snorkeling above the reef. Clear, warm water provided nice views of the sea creatures and beautiful coral formations. Upon returning to the boat we once again boarded our kayaks to paddle back to the base for a light lunch. Each staffer was friendly, helpful, and interesting, presenting the opportunity to befriend local individuals intent on making their visitors feel welcome. Following an equally enjoyable drive back to the pier, I parted with Essan; both of us expressing the hope to meet again sometime or somewhere in the future. This nearly 78-year old gent could not have been happier than to have spent some time sharing music and insights with his 23-year old Antiguan cricketeer guide!
It's a short kayak trip. The staff was great, but the tour wasn't what I had hoped for. Snorkeling was in very choppy water and the reef was damaged and grey. I did see a sea turtle though!
Booked while on cruise. Crew did excellent job, everyone was professional and made sure we enjoyed the experience, which we did. Book it.
This is a very well run excursion. You ride thru town and along the coast in an open sided jeep that seats about 11, to a small local resort where you get outfitted and briefed. Lovely views along the way! Once everyone is prepared, you walk a short way to a dock where you get into double kayaks - they make it safe and easy - and the guide, Sativa, leads you on a wonderful paddle thru the mangroves. Since it was mid day, there wasn’t a lot of bird life - or maybe we were making too much noise, but it was still gorgeous with the light coming thru the leaves. Once you arrive at the beach, you board a skiff and head out to the reef. Please don’t expect to “find Nemo”, as the reef around here is pretty dead. Our group did see a spotted eagle ray, and some lovely fish, though, and it was so fabulous to just be in the ocean! After about 39 minutes we returned to the beach and hung out having snacks and punch (rum punch for you daytime drinkers! Then it as back to the kayaks and home thru the mangroves. The guides are wonderful. Very professional, friendly and fun. And since they keep the numbers small, we were able to meet the other guests and relax knowing the guides have everything covered! We highly recommend!!
Very pleasant experience...great staff...great adventure!! Was as advertised and very enjoyable, rained just as we got set up in the kayaks..but otherwise AOK.
5/5 based on esan's transport to and from the destination alone. Wonderful kayak and snorkel experience. Will recommend!
This tour was very organized. The kayaking through the mangroves was very easy which took us to a beach to get on the boat to snorkel. The boat took us out to a reef and snorkeled about 30 minutes. Once back to the beach, we loaded up in our kayaks and went back through the mangroves to the starting point. Very nice day!! (FYI-its about an hour drive to get to the kayak’s from the cruise port, which they provide the transportation) highly recommend your!
Really great day trip - collected from hotel, got some complimentary sightseeing done first. Then on to kayaking and snorkelling. The reef was the best we saw whilst in Antigua, it was clear and we saw a lot including stingray and lots of interesting fish. The guide joined us in the water which felt reassuring. The team were very friendly and looked after us. Lunch on the beach was really nice way to end the snorkel before we kayaked back and then got back to the car to head to our hotel.
Awesome tour Great guides Had a great time Highly recommended xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
We had the most amazing day with the team! Kayaking through the mangroves and snorkelling in the ocean. We saw so many fishes and turtles popping their heads up. Such a great morning out. Our driver Terry was amazing. He stopped off at popular locations on the way for us to look at as well. He looked after us very well! Jensen and Sativa took us out in the boat for the snorkelling and they were also amazing! Such lovely people which made a good day even better. We also had the lunch and snacks which were soooooo tasty. Highly recommend this experience!
Nice kayak/snorkel combo tour including a gorgeous shell beach stop and a visit to a small farm with fruit samples. Guides were very friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining.
We did the kayak and snorkel excursion during our stop in Antigua on a cruise. It was fantastic! After some misunderstanding on my part, Terry picked us up at the port and gave us an amazing tour of the island while driving us to the kayak/snorkeling site. The kayaking through the mangroves was beautiful and relaxing--and easy. Captain Jensen picked us up after kayaking and took us to the snorkel spot. The water was much choppier than I expected (obviously not their fault--I just didn't feel comfortable), so I swam back to the boat after a little bit to enjoy the scenery, but my husband and Jensen stayed out snorkeling for about 45 minutes. My husband was so happy! He saw an eagle ray, other rays, barracudas and tons of other fish. After the snorkel, they had drinks and snacks for us, then after kayaking back, Terry drove us back to the port. I asked a lot of questions during and after the booking process and they could not have been nicer or more helpful. This was definitely a highlight of our trip and we hope to get back to Antigua one day. Terry and Jensen were hilarious and great tour guides.
We were met near the cruise ship by a very nice driver who talked about the area while driving us to the SoCoHo location. There we were met buy our very knowledgeable guide who accompanied us while kayaking and snorkeling. We also had a very experienced boat driver who was knowledgeable about snorkeling as well and made us feel safe at all times. It was a great experience and we would recommend it to anyone who enjoys kayaking and snorkeling.
This was OK. A very brief paddle through the mangroves, followed by a "guided tour" thru a reef with some sea life. Life vests are required for all travellers regardless of swim experience and ability. Food was a big disappointment. But everyone was professional and kind.
Our guide, captain and staff were the best!!! Very knowledgeable, informative, and professional!!! Great experience and highly recommend
Terri and Gentry were a great team! Great experience. They loved their island! Easy pick up and delivery
Me and my wife had great time snorkeling and kayaking with Jensen and Terry. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trips. Great people and an awesome experience! 10/10 recommend
That day trip was fantastic, I had so much fun doing the kayaking through the mangroves and saw many beautiful fish when snorkeling. Was super happy to see some parrot fish and a sting ray. Our guide was great and funny and shared very interesting facts. The pick-up was very punctual and I had a great chat with both drivers to the location and return. Sending lots of love from Ireland :)
It was great andrew and Alex were awesome! We went during their slow season so it was just me and my husband, but we had such a personal experience and got to know the island very well and we had a blast, snorkeling and kayaking
The team were amazing, so friendly and made us feel so welcome. The kayaking and Snorkeling was incredible, saw so many 🐟
What a wonderful experience. The whole day was magical. The guide and boat captain were friendly, kind and great fun. So worth it!
