Nicole's Table - Cooking With Rum

My sister and I had the pleasure of taking the cooking with Rum Class! It was one of the highlights of our trip. Nicole welcomed us into her beautiful home and we prepared the best food I had on the island. From the meal to the conversation, it was such a treat. This is a must-do if you're ever in Antigua!

What a lovely time! We really enjoyed the home, cooking and meal! Nicole is a great host and fun teacher. Wish we could have had every meal at her home!

We had a great experience with Nicole in late August. We chose the cooking with rum option since a few of us do not eat seafood. The rum option was very filling and came with chicken kabobs and the rum cake. We had more than enough food and everything was delicious! We were so lucky that Nicole kept our experience with three of us, it was so intimate. We got to cook and share so many stories with Nicole, who is just a fantastic host! She kept the cooking fun and easy but also was super educational in explaining ingredients and substitutes we could use at home as needed. Her cooking assistant was also very sweet, she was a little soft spoken but just as welcoming as Nicole and would also offer us cooking tips and explanations. During our lunch we also got to meet one of Nicole's produce suppliers who was such an interesting character and had so many stories and life experiences to share with us. It was an amazing lunch and such a unique experience/excursion that I have been able to experience in my travels around the world (and one of my top favorites!). This is definitely a MUST DO in Antigua. The price is worth the experience, and length was decent at about 4 hours.

This cooking experience was one of the best I have ever done. Ms Nicole is one of the most hospitable hosts I’ve ever encountered. My wife and I were greeted with great warmth and were able to learn a great deal about Caribbean cuisine. Now as for the food everything we were taught was amazing. We left completely stuffed because there was so much food. From the Chicken skewers to the Rum Cake everything made was top quality. I wanted to extend my most sincere thanks to Ms. Nicole, her awesome assistant, and her husband who she called during our Rum tasting to have us confer with, about Rum related trivia. A definite must do while on the Island. We can’t to join you again. Thank you for the great memory and treating us like part of your family.

Nicole and Natasha are amazing. We had a wonderful time cooking and fellowshipping with new friends. The food was awesome and recipes were easy to follow.

This was a great experience that I would definitely recommend. Nicole was so easy to get along with and gave good clear instructions on what to do. It was a relaxed but fun atmosphere. As for the food, it was all absolutely delicious. I will definitely be making it all again and can’t wait to try it out on my friends and family. The rum tasting was a fabulous and informative extra tough that made it extra special. The shopping list for my next shop is longer than usual as I want to make it all again. If you are thinking about doing this experience, don’t hesitate, book it, you won’t regret it :-)

We joined Nicole and Adam for their Cooking With Rum class instead of a ship excursion and it was the best experience of the cruise. Food, instruction, conversation, drinks...everything was fantastic; it felt like a day at a friend's house. We're looking forward to working with the recipes they provided to be the spotlight of our next party. While we don't have it planned yet, we'll certainly try to schedule another class, or the same one, next time we're on Antigua.

4+ hours of cooking eating and drinking. We participated in the cooking with Rum class. Fun and delicious. Chicken kebabs, rice and beans, plantains and Rumcake. While waiting for everything to cook we got a bit of Rum education and a tasting with Adam.

We were met at the front door and felt like family the whole day. It was alot of fun cooking and just talking about family and anything else. The rum portion was fun and informative. I recommend Nicoles Table to anyone coming to Antigua. Make sure to get a bottle of Havana Club Especial before you leave.

The 'Cooking with Rum' class with Nicole was a highlight of our trip to Antigua, we had such a fun afternoon and came away with many new ideas for cooking back home (and lots of knowledge about rum thanks to the tasting led by Adam). We wholeheartedly recommend cooking with Nicole for anyone who wants to learn about Caribbean cuisine and meet some wonderful people.

The experience of being at Nicole's Table is one of extravagance and warmth. An exchange of culinary knowledge, a Caribbean immersion, thoughtful conversation, AND delicious food. This was my second time being welcomed into her home and it was such a joy. The recipes I learn there I cook for my family and friends who take care of my property, pets, and plants while I am traveling. It's always a wonderful way to share my travel memories with them.

Your home is beautiful, the event was so well organized and you and Adam were the perfect hosts and knowledgeable guides about the local foods and the Caribbean rums (thumbs up for the rum tasting as well)! The food and drink (Rum Punch, 1-2-3-4) were delicious! If anyone visits Antigua, Nicole’s Table is an event not to miss!

Great tour, Nicole and Adam were the perfect hosts, fun, informative and really welcoming. The food itself was plentiful and really tasty and easy recipes to recreate at home. Would highly recommend and come back for other classes when back on the island!

Nicole was an attentive host and catered the experience to exceed our expectations. It was a mix of hands on teachings with education on the history of the ingredients and culture. My family and I enjoyed the interaction with Nicole as she made us feel as if we were visiting a family member. The experience was unrushed and filled with enjoyment. The class was amazing! The location had an amazing view and Nicole is an amazing teacher and makes it fun and a laid back experience. You will be full by the end and learn all about rum and food at the same time.

Nicole’s Table in Antigua and Barbuda was hands down the highlight of our trip! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family. The setting alone is breathtaking — perched up in the mountains with panoramic views of the city and the sparkling Caribbean, it felt like we were on top of the world. Nicole and her husband are two of the kindest, most genuine people we’ve ever met, and the way they run the class makes you feel like you’re cooking with old friends. We did the Cooking with Rum class, and the surprise rum tasting halfway through? Absolute perfection! The food, the atmosphere, the company — it was all incredible. If you’re in Antigua and Barbuda, do yourself a favor and book this experience. It’s not just a cooking class — it’s a memory you’ll treasure forever!

If like us you are looking for something interesting to do rather than lying on a sun lounger all day try this. Nicole makes food preparation easy and cooking fun, followed by a delicious lunch with an outstanding rum cake for dessert. Her husband takes you through a rum tasting and a conversation that could easily go on through the evening. All in the beautiful setting of their home high above St. John’s with views across the ocean to St. Kitts. Highly recommended.

We had a delightful time with Nicole and Adam. They have a beautiful property and we found them to be fun and engaging. The food was excellent and extremely plentiful.

One of the best experiences we've ever had. Nicole's Table was wonderful. We were greeted as we stepped out of the taxi with a big smile and welcome. We prepared and cooked food whilst chatting with everyone, drank lots of rum punch and then sat and had the most delicious meal ever whilst looking out to sime amazing views. Nicole and Adam are wonderful hosts in their lovely home with beautiful views of Antigua. I attended the Cooking with Rum class with my daughter and we had a wonderful time! Great hands on class, cooking and learning how to incorporate rum into your meal. We were educated on all the different types of rum and had some rum tastings. The Rum punch was flowing and the finished meal was excellent! I can't wait to make it at home!

A day cooking with Nicole was an awesome experience. Prior to arriving the communication was excellent. At one stage I was the only one attending so Adam (Nicole’s husband) did his very best to rearrange my day. After many emails we managed to stick with the original date and all went well. The menu was lovely, Nicole went the extra mile when I asked the difference between fried plantain and tostones, she not only explained the cultural origins (tostones was a Spanish influence) but proceeded to talk and walk me through making tostones (not on the menu) so the group could taste the difference. The food was excellent, all cooked by the group under Nicole's tuition. Adam took the group for the rum tasting, when he learned I had drunk some beer d the rums on show he offered alternatives to make sure my experience was new. Nicole’s and Adam’s house is a perfect venue, high up, overlooking the beautiful Caribbean Sea. It’s not a cheap activity but when you consider the cost of eating out in Antigua and the wonderful experience you get it is well worth the dollars. I fully recommend Cooking with Nicole, book it, you won’t be disappointed!

Terrific food! Intelligent, friendly, & welcoming hosts! This cooking class was our favorite excursion of the 2 weeks we were on the island. Everything was well thought out and organized.

The location, at Nicole's house, was beautiful, the cookery was excellent and the hosts were so friendly. We did the Rum cookery and the food was great. Highly recommended.

What a fantastic experience!! Learning to cook with Rum was such good fun. Also being able to eat the food whilst enjoying the fantastic views over the Carribean with Nicole, Adam and the other guests was great. Would highly reccomend.

Fun, interesting time! The food was great! Everyone got to participate in the cooking. A good tasting of a variety of rums with info on how to drink rum and recommendations based on what we liked.

What a fantastic day! Nicole and Adam were brilliant hosts, making us feel right at home in their kitchen. At key moments in the instructions we were given detailed explanations (even picked up a few tips for home) with some enjoyable anecdotes thrown in, and alternatives were suggested where availability of ingredients back home may be limited. Each variety of rum came with an explanation (a must for us as rum novices). The food was delicious and we can't wait to re-create it at home. 100% recomend to cooks of any level!

The Nicole's Table -cooking with Rum is a must-do activity while in Antigua. Nicole and her husband have a gorgeous home and are very hospitable. We had a phenomenal time cooking. It was so much fun, and the food and drinks were superb. What a great experience. We returned home and made the dishes and the rum lemonade on several occasions.

Both the hospitality and the rum were generous! Nicole and the team were friendly, warm and knowledgeable. We cooked a wide variety of delicious dishes, which we then enjoyed on the veranda, against a backdrop of stunning views of the island. A definite highlight of my time on the island!

Absolutely amazing! Chef Nicole, Iana, and Adam were so inviting! We had always wanted to take a cooking class, and read the reviews. We are SO glad we did! When we arrived, we were greeted by Nicole who handed us a recipe packet. There was another couple there as well. The four of us had a great time cooking together and getting to know each other. We learned about cassava, a root plant, and made cassava chips. Delicious! We made a rum butter cake that I could have eaten entirely myself. We also made a soup, rice and beans, and chicken kabobs. While the food was cooking, Adam, Nicole’s husband, taught us about rum. We learned the history of rum, tried a variety of rums from different countries, and enjoyed rum punch. Their home is amazing with a stunning view. Such a great time! Well worth the money!!!

If you are looking for an amazing experience in Antigua I would highly recommend Nicole’s Table. Gracious hosts, an amazing view and the best food we’ve had since we’ve been in town. Nicole does a great job steering you through the cooking process while sharing information about the West Indies. And the old fashioned rum punch her daughter made is excellent. While the food was prepared we had a rum tasting with her husband Adam. It was a blast and he does a great job explaining the various types of rum and their history. And another big shout out to Iana. She helped us cook the dishes and demonstrated the pumpkin fritter recipe. Do not hesitate to book. You will not regret it.

Everyone wants a great vacation story to share after they return home. Well, Nicole's Table - Cooking with Rum will provide a wonderful memory of a day spent in their lovely hilltop home overlooking the bay on Antigua! We learned how to cook several traditional Caribbean recipes along with a few other enthusiastic attendees in Nicole's spacious kitchen doing hands-on preparation while she instructed us about local ingredients used. We made Rum and Brown Sugar Marinated Chicken Thighs with Onion Jam, Nicole’s Tostones, Red Beans and Rice, a Rainbow Garden Salad and for dessert, hubby made his first (and not his last) Nicole’s Butter Rum Cake! YUM! And while the chicken/rum cake was baking, our host Adam gave our small group an education about the different types of local/foreign rum and how they differ in taste. But wait... the best part was to come... we gathered on their back porch patio/extra large picnic table to enjoy the warm afternoon breeze, eat everything we cooked along with some refreshing fresh-made rum punch and take delight of a memorable day with new friends.

Such fun to learn about the various kinds of rum and how to use it in cooking ----especially the tasting! Nicole shared recipes and tips. New tastes, new rums, new experiences. Fun. Fun, fun!

We thoroughly enjoyed our rum cooking experience with Nicole. Their property is beautiful and has amazing views which adds to the ambience. There were 13 or so of us and Nicole was great at directing and assisting us all. We also very much enjoyed the detailed rum tasting that Adam (Nicole's husband) provided so graciously. The finale was getting to enjoy the delicious fruits of our labors while soaking in that amazing view and fantastic breeze.

What a fun, interesting and delicious day! Not your run of the mill side excursion. Nicole and her hubby welcomed us into their home and made us feel like family. We cooked together and chatted like old friends. Her hubby gave a very interesting and 'spirited" talk and sampling of different rums. We will definitely choose another of her offerings when we are back.
