This is an incredible resort. We came in July and had an ocean view suite. We had room K6, so only half way up the infamous hill and it was the perfect view we could have hoped for. Room had everything we needed (all amenities, A/C etc) and great balcony. The pool is nice and there are plenty of sunbeds, which is same for the surprisingly quiet beach (which is better than the pool imo). Free use of kayak, snorkels etc is a nice touch. The food in the restaurant, albeit expensive (USD pricing), was above average, which is all i ask for in a hotel restaurant. Breakfast really good. The concierge is very helpful, sorting us restaurant reservations and taxis. Tourist tip for Antigua: hire your own car (even for a day) if you want to leave the resort. approx $50 a day to hire a car however a taxi is $30 for return journey only 10 minutes away.

We went to dinner 🍽️ then here 🏝️ and then enjoyed a day pass the following day ☀️. Our visit to Tamarind in Antigua 🇦🇬 was absolutely amazing 😍! We purchased a day pass 🎟️ and had such a wonderful experience that we returned again during our trip ✈️. From the moment we arrived 🚗, Tracianne, the security guard 👮🏽♀️, greeted us with a warm smile 😊 and even remembered my name when we came back 🔁. That personal touch made us feel so welcome 🤗. David, our bartender 🍹 for the day, was exceptional 🌟. He was friendly 😄, attentive , and made sure we always had everything we needed ✅. His outstanding service truly enhanced our experience 🙌. Davincia, the supervisor 👩🏽💼, was also incredibly warm 💖, professional 💼, and welcoming 🤝. It was clear that she genuinely cared about ensuring guests had a memorable visit 🥰. For dinner 🍽️, Jenice was our waitress 👩🏽🍳, and she provided excellent service 🌟 with such kindness 💕 and attention to detail 🔍. The food 🍴 was exceptional—every meal we had was delicious 😋. The beach 🏖️ was pristine 🌊, the property was spotless ✨, and it was evident that the staff takes great pride in maintaining the resort 🏨. What stood out the most was the genuine friendliness 😊 of every staff member we encountered 👏. Everyone made us feel valued 💖 and at home 🏡. Thank you 🙏 to Tracianne, David, Davincia, Jenice, and the entire Tamarind team 🌴 for making our visit so special 💫. We cannot wait to return 🔜 and would highly recommend Tamarind to anyone visiting Antigua 🇦🇬!
The location of Tamarind Hills Resort is what makes it. Being located on Ffryes Beach, easily one of the Top 10 of the 365 beaches on Antigua, is the best benefit of Tamarind. The beach and water are just stunning and never crowded while we were there. Our villa was high on the hill, which made for just spectacular views of the sunset as the weather allowed. The staff is all friendly, engaging, and well-educated. Not all, especially the restaurant/bar service, was efficient, but I will get to that. Our unit, K39, was nice and spacious, although the kitchenette portion felt very dated. It was high on the hill, which made for some challenging walks up and down to the beach or restaurant, but it worked for us. The resort will give you a ride any time you want it, but not always immediately, depending on staff availability. The restaurant on site, Wild Tamarind, was hit and miss. Some of the food was very good, other, like pizza night, not so good (my pizza was cold, and the wife's gluten-free pizza was pretty pathetic looking and tasting). The restaurant is on the pricey side, so we expected better. The breakfast terrace was nice. Bar service on the beach was handy if slow. Each time we went to sign our bill before leaving the beach, it was as if they were doing it for the first time, and you ended up standing there waiting for 5 or 10 minutes while they tried to figure out how to present your bill. There are some excellent restaurants nearby, but they do require a car. We ate at Sheer Rocks one night and The Fox House on another night; they were both excellent, especially The Fox House. Our stay did end on a sour note as we returned from the beach on our last day to shower for dinner, only to find we had no running water. It took about 3 hours to fix; we missed our dinner reservation and the music, only to eat much later than we liked. Things happen that we get; how a resort handles these mishaps is the true measure. We've been lucky to stay at places that very proactively address issues that occur, and unfortunately, have stayed at places that either consciously or unconsciously ignore the issue, hoping we didn't notice or weren't bothered. Well, Tamarind was the latter; other than the maintenance worker, no one from the resort contacted us or apologized about it either before, after, or during the situation. When I called the front desk to ask them to help move our dinner reservation, and asked her if they would be buying us dinner for the inconvenience, she literally laughed at me. The great inconvenience to us was not addressed until we were checking out, and the manager on duty happened to ask how our stay was (they knew what room we were in, so they knew what happened, but again did nothing proactive to compensate us or even just apologize to us). After hearing our story, they did comp us a little on our total bill, but had we not brought it up, they would have said and done nothing. It was an unfortunate way for our 1-week visit to end. Overall, we enjoyed our stay because of the beach and views far outweighing some of the challenges. The beach and views make this resort worthwhile.
We stayed at Tamarind Hills for our honeymoon and had the most amazing experience! Upon arrival, we were given a welcome drink and cold towels, then driven to our room, where our luggage was unloaded for us. We stayed in an ocean-view studio with a jacuzzi and woke up to the ocean and the beautiful sound of the waves. Our room was steps from the beach and restaurant, making it very convenient, and it was clean and comfortable. The food at their restaurant was incredible and very fresh, and you get fabulous views of the ocean! The beach has plenty of chairs and water activities, and it's conveniently located at the end of the beach for privacy (they also have a separate private beach!). We enjoyed having a new smoothie of the day at breakfast each day, and enjoyed their drinks as well. You definitely won’t get bored at this resort because there are so many things to do! They have plenty of seating with beach views to relax, and a pool if you prefer not to be at the beach. The flowers and plants are vibrant, and the sunsets and sunrises are spectacular. At night, they brought in a band with beautiful instruments that was a lot of fun to listen to! We had a private beach dinner one night, with a server just for us, music, a beautiful table setup, and a customized menu, which made it such a special experience. We felt extremely safe because of the gated property and security at the front, and if you need to go somewhere outside the resort, they will schedule a taxi for you! The best part of the whole experience was the extremely friendly staff, who put so much effort into making each day great for their guests. We ended up making friends with them all, and we literally were tearing up when we had to leave because we didn’t want to! We’ve already determined that we will be coming back to Antigua and Tamarind Hills, and we highly recommend this resort:) Truly the best one on the island!
Absolute gem of a property and hotel! Located on the southwest region of Antigua about 40 minute drive from the airport, this boutique hotel provides a wonderful escape from home. The hotel has beach access to fryes and serves drinks and food while you soak up the sun. The staff at the hotel was incredible, Manish the manager was great he welcomed guests everyday at breakfast and attended to everyone. We were accommodated with excellent room service, late checkout, and turn down service every night. Manish even remembered my wife’s birthday providing a complimentary drink at breakfast and a bottle of wine for the room. Adrian at the front desk was also a pleasure. Thanks to all the supportive staff and highly highly recommend if you’re staying in Antigua. One of the best beaches and hotel in the area!
