Lugal, A Luxury Collection Hotel Ankara

I recently stayed at Lugal — a stay I had been genuinely looking forward to, as Lugal has long been on my list of hotels to experience. While I truly appreciated the warmth and professionalism of the staff, as well as their fluent English and detailed explanations during check-in, unfortunately, the overall room experience did not meet the expectations I had for a property of a 5 star hotel caliber. The room was indeed spacious, but it fell short in terms of comfort and upkeep. The furniture appeared quite old, and there were visible cracks on the surfaces and flooring. The carpet was not only too small for the room — patched in the middle — but also emitted a strong, unpleasant odor, reminiscent of having been cleaned with dirty or stagnant water. The general atmosphere of the room, combined with the musty and damp smell and even a drain odor in the bathroom, gave the impression that it hadn’t been properly ventilated or maintained for quite some time. It’s disappointing, as the level of service and hospitality from the team clearly reflects a 5-star standard, but the room condition unfortunately does not. Unfortunately I have scratched Lugal’s name off of my list of hotels for good. Not only I would not come back again but also do not recommend my friends or other guests to stay. İpek Koç

This was another wonderful experience for us. From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptionally welcoming and professional. The service was impeccable. This hotel exudes elegance and class. The location is absolutely perfect, close to shops and parks for walking. You'll return to relax in this oasis of class and excellent service. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and clean. The breakfast is delicious. We rate this accommodation 10 out of 10.

Really nice stay. Very warm welcome from all staff. Complimentary tea/coffee on arrival. Room upgrade provided to a suite, and free breakfast (in room or in restaurant) from my platinum status. Lovely fruit bowl in the room and lots of complimentary water bottles. Only have to remove one star, as there was some confusion about the hammam facilities, reservation is required so I asked to make one, but I just wanted to use the facilities, and I asked if it was included, free of charge twice, but upon arrival found out it was instead a scrubbing service which was a decent 25minute service but an unexpected $40/person charge. I would have preferred more transparency. But overall I’d stay again for sure.

The Lugal Hotel, which is expertly woven into the Sheraton Hotel complex while being distinctive and offering privacy for its guests, is a warm and welcoming place to stay. The staff are friendly and immediately look to offer comfort and a space to relax away from the challenges of business, travel or the other clutter we carry around ourselves. I was here for work at a conference. Very helpful and accommodating with clear attention to detail in the rooms and communal areas. Also looking to aid your visit to Ankara with suggestions and encouragement to explore. Wonderful short stay.
