Very bad experience with this booking! We purchased tickets for Van Gogh Museum with Audio Guide but never received any tickets by email. When we arrived at the museum, they refused our entry because we had no tickets to show. We tried to contact the provider but it was very frustrating and nobody helped us. We wasted our time and money and could not visit the museum

Enjoyable afternoon! Audio tour worked well and provides information on a few pieces of art work in each room. Crowd flow works well. Café has limited space. Museum shop as expected, expensive! Free lockers provided for jackets and bags.
Got invoice for tickets. Never received actual tickets in my email as stated . Email that was received stated the same that I would receive email to get tickets. Museum attendant gave a hard time because didn’t understand why I did not get the tickets. Said this occasionally happens with Tripadvisor . Not a pleasant experience. Paid top dollar for tickets. Not sure about this Viator.
Lovely afternoon spent in the Museum. We did the audio guide and I would recommend. Enjoyed the stories behind the paintings. Nice gift shop too.
The Van Gogh Museum was wonderful! The audio guide made the visit even more interesting, helping us understand the stories behind the paintings. A great experience in Amsterdam.
Seeing Van Gogh’s famous paintings in person was unforgettable. The audio guide was very helpful and explained the artwork in an easy way. Definitely worth visiting!
I enjoyed learning about Van Gogh’s life and his artwork while exploring the museum. The audio guide added so much value to the experience. I would happily visit again.
We had a lovely time at the Van Gogh Museum. The collection was beautiful, and listening to the audio guide helped us appreciate the paintings even more. Highly recommended!
I booked tickets for the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam for a specific date and time, and my reservation was initially confirmed. The company then changed my booking without respecting my original reservation. They subsequently informed me that my requested time slot was unavailable. **What is absolutely outrageous is that, after telling me the tickets were unavailable, they put tickets for the same time slot back on sale, only to eventually cancel my reservation altogether!** This is completely unacceptable and raises serious questions about the reliability and transparency of their booking system. I repeatedly explained that we were travelling on a cruise and had very limited time in Amsterdam. Our entire family itinerary had been carefully organised around this confirmed booking. Instead, after days of uncertainty, contradictory information and wasted time, we were left without tickets. They eventually promised a full refund, but that is the absolute minimum they could do. **Selling tickets, changing confirmed reservations, putting tickets back on sale and then cancelling existing bookings is an appalling way to treat customers.** I will NEVER book with this company again. I strongly advise other travellers, especially cruise passengers with limited time, to avoid this company.
Allow 3 or more hours to complete your viewing of all the art. Fantastic art. Audio tour highly recommended.
Embarrassing standing at entrance, getting tickets refused . As was not aware this was cancelled due to technical issues by trip advisor..
I loved the in-depth look into life and evolution of Van Gogh. The audio guide was essential to telling the story. The museum is beautiful.
Low stars because I’m just not a fan of museums. I found tickets from $120-$150 (USD)on line. When we got there it was $50-ish and $3.50 for the head phones. It wasn’t real crowded, which was nice.
Words don’t sufficiently cover the experience of this museum. I highly recommend the audio tour to really immerse yourself in Van Gogh and his life. The relationship with his brother was something new I learn and I really told the story of the man/artist.
The Van Gogh is a must see for anyone that remotely appreciates art and/or history. It's very well presented and easy to follow. Saw some pieces I was completely unaware of. To stand right next to multiple original Van Gogh paintings is priceless!
A decent visit, took approx 3 hours and did learn a lot about VVG. However….. the price paid for tickets via tripadvisors / VIATOR was an absolute rip off. They charged me over £105 for 2 tickets which could have been bought on the Van Gogh site direct for only €57. I understand businesses need to make a profit but the price I was charged is an absolute rip off which marred the whole experience.
Very interesting to see the stages of Van Goghs life and how it affected his art. The pieces were thoughtfully curated. The audio guide was very helpful and hit enough of the highlights to keep me interested.
Very informative. Well organized and interesting museum. Audio guide was useful
We really enjoyed seeing the paintings and the life history that were there at the museum. However we know there are other famous Van Gogh paintings that are not there. We feel it would be good if they at least were mentioned with details of where they currently are and visual replications of them. Also from a personal viewpoint I found it very annoying that I had to wait for people - often many at the same time - photographing the paintings - and even people posing for photographs in front of the famous ones. I really appeal to you to ban photography - or at least offer some sessions where photography is not allowed to let those who are interested appreciate the paintings better.
Good value for money and the descriptions on the painting are self explanatory. So even if you skip the audio guide, that is fine
I called 3 times to get my tickets and they kept saying they’d send them in an hour. I ordered the tickets on a Saturday for Monday and still did not get my tickets until the am on Monday and by then it was too late for me to arrange travel
I recently did a short trip to the Netherlands and with all the museum options, I decided to do the special they have at the Van Gogh museum which is the last 1 hour at a discount price. It was a good decision as the time was just about right. It is still enough to see the highlights. The staff was very helpful in verifying how to get a ticket, and just overall friendliness. It was a good way to end my 'museum day'
Great museum. Do the audio. Comprehensive outline of Van Gogh and his history, family and artwork Well worth a visit.
This museum beautifully communicated the depth of the artist Vincent Van Gogh. The audio was very informative and felt like almost a live guide .What a prolific artist ,especially in his last year of life .I was very sad he suffered so much mentally .They really were respectful about that aspect. The museum was laid out beautifully and it has fostered for me a great interest in him that I never had before .The gift shop had unique and reasonably priced moments. I loved this experience
The museum was wonderful. Great experience overall for the family. We enjoyed the sessions and the information shared. What wasn’t great was the purchasing of the tickets and the fact that Viator did not provide us valid tickets for our kids. The museum is free for under 18 and we had two tickets purchased for them, they were not provided. I only received 2 adult tickets and the ticket checkers were adamant that we needed tickets for the kids. They said that this was a problem with Viator and that I should address it with Viator. We were likely to be let in to the museum since we weren’t provided valid vouchers.
This is a great experience. I loved the way they explain the paintings in relation to the place (physical and mental) and the people who surround the artist. I would return to Amsterdam just for that visit. Loved it. Make sure to buy the audio help. It complements well.
I traveled here with my daughter who is very interested in the arts. I have little to no knowledge of art or the history of it. We did the audio self guided tour. I truly enjoyed the entire visit with the audio information. It was easy to follow. Well set up and organized. It appeared to be a modern building and clean. There was an elevator for those with mobility issues. This is a very busy location. Timed entry is in place and is required. The ability to move through at your own pace was very nice. Some points did not holed a lot interest and others more so. So it was nice to be able to take time and enjoy the paintings.
The art was amazing, and the audio guided tour was lovely. I learned so much. Highly recommend it here.
Fascinating and self reflection provoking
Wonderful way to view a comprehensive collection of Van Gogh masterpieces in an airy and modern setting. It was quite busy so sometimes you just need to wait 30 seconds or so to get up close with his most famous paintings but it's well worth being a little patient. The audio guide was very useful though even the "full" version tends to only cover the highlights but you can go at your own pace.
Easy to use trip advisor. Loved museum
Fantastic museum for lovers of Vincent and art generally. Great to get to know more about his life, work, relationships & legacy. The audio guide is a must as it takes you through the entire museum and explains events & works as they evolved across Van Gogh’s life.
We discovered that we couldn't get day of tickets through the main website. We purchased resold tickets through TripAdvisor/Viator and paid more than twice face value for our tickets. The tickets sent to us via TripAdvisor didn't work and we had to negotiate with the museum staff to get ahold of proper tickets which were hidden in a link in the email receipt. Paying extra for this experience was less than optimal. The museum itself was great, but there were too many people in there to enjoy the art.
Worth the visit. Learned many new facts about the artist and the original art works were amazing.
I planned a quick visit but ended up spending almost half a day inside. One painting caught my attention for so long that I forgot about the crowd around me. The audio guide added small details that made the artwork feel alive.
The museum was far more impressive than I expected. Seeing Van Gogh’s original works up close was unforgettable, and the audio guide added meaningful stories behind each painting. Everything was well organized, making the visit smooth from start to finish.
Most visitors talk about canals and bikes, but this museum became my favorite memory from the city. The collection felt personal, and the audio guide helped connect everything together.
Some attractions are fun for a day, but this is the kind of place that stays in your memory. Seeing the real paintings up close felt completely different from seeing them online or in books.
We had several activities planned in Amsterdam, but this ended up being the one we talked about most afterward. The audio guide was informative without being boring, and the artwork was simply incredible.
Ticket never arrived. After multiple requests for a refund which were never responded to I had to file a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back.
We bought the tickets from the Museum website. The process was seamless; we got there 10 minutes late, but it was okay. They had an excellent (free) locker system where I could stash my coat. The building feels open and airy. The tour took us up many floors, but because we could set our own pace, it was not too strenuous. There is an elevator for accessibility. The audio guide was helpful and not intrusive. The layout of the exhibition was excellent. Though I've read about Van Gogh and seen reproductions of his art, this was beautifully done. You could get quite close to the artworks and see the brushstrokes. The audio and sequencing provided a lot of context that was missing from my random collection of facts! And seeing actual photos of Theo, Jo, and a young Vincent made it feel very real.
I enjoyed spending time at the Van Gogh Museum and got to see Vincent van Gogh's famous works up close...The audio guide was very informative, giving insight into the artist's life and work.... However, the museum was quite crowded, making it difficult to comfortably view some of the exhibits. The audio guide information sometimes seemed too long and the overall experience was not as great as I had hoped. Still, it could be a good tour for those interested in seeing Van Gogh's works......
I wasn't sure how long we would spend here, but we ended up staying nearly three hours. The museum is beautifully organized and the audio guide helped us understand Van Gogh's life journey. Highly recommended for art lovers and first-time visitors alike.
The museum does an incredible job of bringing Van Gogh's story to life. Listening to the audio guide while standing in front of his famous works created a truly memorable experience. One of the must-visit attractions in Amsterdam.
We booked through Paris Museum Ticket and received our tickets promptly. Their customer support answered our questions quickly before our visit. The museum itself was stunning, and the audio guide made it much easier to appreciate the collection.
Amsterdam weather wasn't great during our trip, but visiting the Van Gogh Museum turned out to be the perfect plan. The collection is impressive, and the audio guide kept us engaged throughout the visit. Time flew by without us noticing.
From booking to entry, everything went smoothly. Paris Museum Ticket provided excellent communication and sent the tickets exactly as promised. The museum exceeded expectations, especially the self-portraits and the detailed audio commentary. A wonderful cultural experience in Amsterdam.
Incredible tour with narration. It provided deep insight to who van Gogh was, and the way he lived his life.
The museum would not take my ticket. They looked at it every which way and said it was not valid. I had to pay for new tickets for my husband and I. I demand a refund. I can proves with receipt that I had to pay again.
One of the best art museums I have ever visited. In addition to a spectacular collection of Van Gogh's works, it has a surprisingly good collection of works from his friends and contemporaries. The museum is also laid out in a way that demonstrates Van Gogh's progression as an artist and tells his personal story as well. Seeing the incredible colour and texture in his work up close is a surreal experience. A must visit in Amsterdam.
