The Van Gogh Museum is a Dutch art museum dedicated to the works of Vincent van Gogh and his contemporaries in the Museum Square in Amsterdam South, close to the Stedelijk Museum, the Rijksmuseum, and the Concertgebouw.
The Rijksmuseum was founded in 1818, but it’s not just any museum. In fact, the Rijksmuseum is the national museum of The Netherlands and it houses a variety of pieces from Dutch and Flemish medieval to modern art. The collection covers a wide range of topics and includes masterpieces by Vincent van Gogh, Rembrandt van Rijn, and Peter Paul Rubens.

One of the most interesting and insightful tours I’ve experienced while visiting the art museums. Our tour guide had wonderful insight and knowledge about Van Gogh and Rembrandt. What a treat to see the masterpieces up close. If you are a lover of art, this tour is so worth your time.
Vita was excellent. Her thorough knowledge of the art and its history gave us new insights. She was very amiable. She guided us to the important pieces we were not familiar with and explained their relationship to more famous pieces and to the artist. She delivered the exact experience we desired.
Laura was great. We enjoyed our visit and we were able to take in a lot of information in a short period of time.
Juan was outstanding as his knowledge of Van Gogh and the 17th century artist was phenomenal. My wife needs a wheelchair for Montana Juan saw to her every need. Two of the three of us ha been to the two museums in the past. Juan was by far our best tour guide. Three cheers for Juan!
If you only have one afternoon and want to see the highlights of both the Van Gough and Rijks museums this is an excellent solution
The guide was very knowledgeable and helped is to navigate the more famous works in very large collections.
Our guide Rob was fantastic. He really taught us about the artist and the times when the works were done. Really highlighted both museums.
Rob is an amazing tour guide. He is knowledgeable, patient and flexible. We had a great tour of the Van Gogh museum but were surprised to discover that the Rijksmuseum closes at 5, effectively cutting an hour from our allotted time. If it were not for that, I would have given this activity 5 stars.

Highly educated fun tour guide, you will learn a lot about the Dutch masters and their work. Makes the museums better by giving you background and pertinent information. We were there as a family, youngest 17, everyone loved it

Rob, our museum guide, was excellent. He handled our multi generational group with ease. He was willing to be flexible with our plans allowing for a quick break between the museums and finding elevators for my mom. His knowledge of the museums made our visits efficient and educational. I so appreciated having him take the lead and managing our group. Took so much stress off of me.
Laura was a wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide. She was able to offer great insight into the lives of the artists and her enthusiasm for their work was infectious.
Viator did poorly at communicating where to meet our guide. We even arrived in area 20 minutes prior to tour! Guide eventually made contact with us. Based on title of tour we waited outside the Van Gogh Museum, where other Viator guides were meeting their groups. A guide from another Viator tour, “Fannie”, tried to help us. Not successful. We did connect with “Laura” and found out she was waiting at other museum—listed after Van Gogh in tour title. We missed at least 30 minutes of our expensive tour. Laura was apologetic, but we still missed the time seeing the artwork. The tour still ended as scheduled. Laura was kind, considerate, and knowledgeable. Laura is very knowledgeable about the art world and particular about Rijik and Van Gogh museums. She provide a lot of historical background. She answered all our questions. She is very helpful and personable
Our lovely guide, Laura, was obviously very knowledgeable about the Van Gogh exhibit and the Rijik museum. She shared details that were not available by reading the pieces of verbiage next to the amazing painting. Laura was very informative and cognizant of how much time we wished to spend throughout our tour. Laura was an excellent guide!
