It was absolutely superb. Victoria was more Knowledgeable than a Netflix documentary. So authentic. It’s clear that she has spent years understanding Van Gogh and the other artists. She has immense knowledge of The Netherlands as well. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time.

Monique was an excellent tour guide!!!!!! She really knew knew about Van Gogh and his life and gave a great tour through the entire museum.
Monique was an amazing guide for the Van Gogh Museum tour. There were eight of us in the group, all couples, and we were provided headphones so as not to miss any of Monique’s always knowledgeable and insightful comments about Van Gogh’s life and the specific paintings we were looking at. She clearly has a passion for his art, and her enthusiasm was infectious. And finally, though Dutch, Monique’s English was excellent. I can’t imagine a better guide for this amazing museum.
Victoria is very knowledgeable about all things Vincent. She made us all feel like we knew the most important part of a very human experience.
Great overview of Vincent history with personal aspects. Cecilia was easy to understand and always aware of her group's comfort and surroundings - in a busy environment. Thankyou
Anna is a vault of information! I left my tour with a deeper understanding of how Van Gogh developed his world-famous style. And I was an art history minor!
CECILE was everything!!!!! She was so good that we had random visitors in the museum trying to tag along to listen. Cecile made this art tour so fun and was extremely knowledgeable. We don’t typically like “art history” but the way she took us through the timeline of Van Gogh’s life was so memorable. HIghly recommend this tour with Cecile!
I thought I knew a fair amount about Vincent Van Gogh, but thought it would be refreshing to get someone else's perspective. Our guide, Victoria, was AMAZING! She knew every fact and every theory about Vincent and she spoke with passion and reverence. She brought his paintings to life. At the start of the tour, I mentioned that I would be looking for benches to give my back a re-set and she disappeared for a minute, then came back with a folding stool that we took along with us, so I could sit anytime I wanted! Our tour was scheduled for 2 hours and she gave us 3.5! Just amazing!
Our guide Victoria was great. Met us on time at the meeting point, was very friendly, spoke English perfectly and was prepared. Most importantly her knowledge and passion for Van Gogh and his art was impressive. As a result we were made aware of aspects we would have missed or not known about. The tour was well paced. Victoria was open to different views in the group about the art which is important given the nature of art. Highly recommend this tour.
Excellent! Our guide Clare was professional, knowledgeable, and engaging. We thoroughly enjoyed her extra attention to detail.
Anna N is very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter of Vincent Van Gogh, the artist and the man. She provided context for us to better understand his works of art and debunked many of the commonly held myths regarding his life, which was truly astonishing. Anna also ensured that every member of her tour group was taken care of as she procured enough folding chairs for those who needed to sit during the tour as the tour is quite long. Anna’s English is excellent as well. She spoke very clearly and passionately. To those who are on the “older” side, please take into consideration that the tour is 2.5 hours in duration. There is a reason that under “additional info,” the tour company states “travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level.” Even with the folding chairs, there is still a lot of walking (including up and down stairs as the elevators are often too crowded). It is an excellent tour though.
Was a lovely tour with our wonderful tour guide Victoria. Victoria was knowledgeable, kind and we remember everything she shared with us about the museum and Van Gogh. I highly recommend.
This was top rate! I only wish we had had more time because he knows everything!!He was fun and so insightful! We really loved it!
Great way to learn about Vincent Van Gogh life and see his art. Diana was extremely knowledgeable on Vincent Van Gogh life and his family. She explained how different his art was depending on the period of his life. Excellent tour.
The museum was wonderful. So many exhibits and special exhibits! And the number of personal family items was unexpected. The real gem, though was our tour guide Victoria. She was a wealth of information and insight into Victor and his family, friends, and colleagues.
Jacopo was fantastic. Knowledgeable, entertaining, funny, and great with our kids (13 and 11). He made the Van Gogh Museum interesting for all of us. Easily one of the best tour guides we’ve had!
Victoria made this experience totally worthwhile with her knowledge and tempo and personality / certainly a must do and hope you go with her‼️‼️‼️
Great guide. A little tricky to find her at first but she called us, waited, and got us where we needed to be. Very knowledgable of museum and artwork. Answered all of our questions and mindful of the whole group and what they wanted to see and there ability of speed to walk and browse.
Absolutely terrific tour! Very enjoyable commentary and highly contextual. Pacing was good as there were no lags in the experience.
Anita our Guide was second to none. She was engaging so knowledgeable and thought provoking. Highly recommend this tour.
Fantastic! Very knowledgeable guide with interesting stories to keep the museum fun and informative.
Monique was outstanding. Her knowledge of the history of Van Gogh and each of his pieces was impressive. I got so much more out of the museum with her as the guide. The two hours was well paced. Enjoyed thoroughly and highly recommend.
Monique made the visit the most interesting and fun experience. There was a medical situation in our group and she manage it fast and efficiently and we were able to complete our tour. Highly recommended tour.
This was a great museum experience. Our tour guide Hanneke really loves what she’s doing, so personable and knowledgeable. We take tours all the time and she’s definitely the best!
What a wonderful experience to see some amazing pieces of work. Our guide Ewald had an incredible amount of knowledge on Van Gogh and was very engaging. I am admitedly not the most knowledgable in the history of art but Ewald made this very relatable and it made me appreciate the experience so much more than if I had self guided myself through the museum. I wold highly recommend booking this tour as it will elevate your museum experience!
Anna N gave us the best art history tour ever. She was so knowledgeable about van Gogh his motivation about his paintings, the history of the paintings and the time period. She has a wonderful insight into van Gogh state of mind for his for works. Highly recommend you book with her.
The tour gave a wonderful tour of the museum. The guide who was very good in explaining the life of van gogh as illustrated in his works. The guide provides a fascinating explanation of van gogh painting method and how he evolved . Highly recommend this tour
Paola was excellent!!! Very professional, knowledgeable and had great perspective. She filled in Van Gogh's whole story. Van Gogh's paintings were incredible.
Our tour of the Van Gogh Museum with Paola was one of the highlights of our trip. She is incredibly knowledgeable about art history and brought Vincent van Gogh's life and work to life for both adults and children. Paola patiently answered all of our questions, including plenty from my 9-year-old, and made the experience engaging and accessible. As a parent, I especially appreciated her sensitivity when discussing Vincent's death. She thoughtfully waited until my child was not around to address those topics. Paola struck the perfect balance between education, storytelling, and sensitivity. We left with a much deeper appreciation of Van Gogh's art and highly recommend her.
Tour guide was our third guide to be truly exceptional. I learned so much more about Van Gogh and his evolution as a painter. I am sincerely grateful for the experience.
Even if you don't know how to appreciate art Anna lead us thru the Van Gogh Museum in a way that helped understand the artist and his painting style.
From the moment our tour began, Victoria made it unmistakably clear that we were in the hands of someone truly exceptional. She didn’t just guide us through the museum - she transformed the entire experience into something vivid, personal, and completely unforgettable. Victoria has a rare gift for making art feel alive. Most of pieces we encountered came with a story, a sense of purpose, and a deeper meaning that she unraveled effortlessly. What could have been a passive walk through galleries instead became an engaging journey, where each painting felt like it had a voice - and Victoria knew exactly how to bring it out. Her knowledge is incredibly impressive, but what makes her stand out is how interactive her tour is. She never overwhelmed us with information or spoke in a way that felt academic or distant. Instead, she invited us in – allowing for questions, encouraging different perspectives, and making sure everyone felt included in the conversation. It felt less like a tour and more like a shared discovery. And her passion? Absolutely contagious. You could hear it in her voice, see it in her expressions, and feel it in the way she connected seemingly small details into powerful insights. Whether she was pointing out a subtle brushstroke or explaining the historical context behind a artist, she made every moment feel important. Victoria also has an incredible ability to read her audience. She picked up on our interests almost immediately and tailored the tour in a way that felt surprisingly personal. She created connections across different exhibits that made the entire museum feel cohesive, not overwhelming—a true skill in a space that could easily feel vast and daunting. By the end of the tour, we didn’t just leave with new knowledge - we left inspired. Victoria didn’t just teach us about Van Gogh; she changed the way we see him. If you ever have the chance to take a tour with Victoria, don’t hesitate. She sets the gold standard for what a museum guide should be—insightful, engaging, and genuinely unforgettable.
Great Van Gogh tour with Monique! Well curated in that it told the story of his tortured life through his art. Two and 1/2 hours and you don't see every painting but the tour gains you entry to the museum for the day to explore on your own.
Our tour guide (Irina) was wonderful. Enthusiastic, professional and very informative. We wouldn’t have gotten nearly as much out of the museum without her.
Very thorough tour of museum. Jessica was a superb knowledgeable guide Incredible how so much of his work was preserved and is beautifully housed in one location.
Our guide Klaus was full of information & enthusiasm for VanGogh. More like a short art history class than a guided tour.
Pedro did an amazing job of making the museum come alive. He really gave us the background and understanding regarding Van Gogh the individual as well as the family’s roles in bringing his art to the world.
Cecile was so great. Informative and kept your attention. Very knowledgeable and friendly! She’s the best! This was an amazing experience. Do not miss it!
Excellent- the Guide was very knowledgeable and enjoyable! The artwork is incredible and to know the history behind it makes it that more interesting!
If you go to the museum on your own you are only getting half the expedience. Our guide, Victoria, was passionate and very knowledgeable about Van Goghs art and life. I finished the tour with a better understanding of his art and life.
Our guide Ewald was knowledgeable and very helpful with the small group and took care with the pace of the tour.
It’s a bit pricey but worth it. Tour guide was a young man named Pedro. He was very knowledgeable about Van Gogh and was very pleasant. It was the first tour in an art museum that I did not fall asleep in. Van Gogh is a very fascinating man.
We booked a personal tour via Amsterdam Experience and we were not disappointed. Inbal was very knowledgeable and we learnt much more than we might have done on a group tour or just wandering around on our own. Would strongly recommend. Be mindful though that the museum is incredibly busy so pick your time
We did a guided tour of the Van Gough museum with Jacopo C - it was phenomenal. We have done museum tours all over the world - and this was the best we ever had. Jacopo was knowledgeable on the period, art history generally and the historical context surrounding VG life and work - being on his tour was a masterclass on VG work! He kept our attention with stories and kept the tour moving at the perfect pace. Cannot recommend this tour - and this guide specifically - more highly. JC - thanks for an amazing morning.
Victoria our guide was outstanding. Her in depth of the man and his work was accompanied by enthusiasm and easy himour
Victoria watch fabulous she was very thorough and detailed in her explanation. I highly recommend her.
This guided tour is a full on exploration of VanGogh the painter and the man. Our guide, Anna, shared interesting back stories that illustrated the artist's influence on others and what influenced his own work; compared various works with an eye toward helping us understand why VanGogh is such an impactful artist. It was informative, interesting and well worth the time and associated cost. I kept thinking, 'I wonder what the other tourists, with their headsets, are getting from the experience?' Not sure how other guides are, but I know our experience was superior to just walking around by ourselves. Highly recommend! Complimentary wheelchairs and portable, folding seats are available.
This was a great tour. Anna was exceptionally knowledgeable about Van Gogh’s life and art work. We learned much more on this tour than we expected and would def recommend it!
Very thorough. Our guide (Ewald) was incredibly knowledgable and patient with our questions. It was a first rate experience.
Cecile was very informative and had great insight and stories about Van Gogh. I enjoyed the chronology of his life.
