My husband and I joined the 5 hour Rijk and Van Gogh museums with Monique as our guide. It was a long time to be on our feet and Monique was constantly checking to see if we were okay. Our tour with Anna N was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and shared her awareness on how to interpret the artwork of various era’s in the Rijksmuseum and then gain some insight as to the brilliance of Van Gogh’s ability to paint distance perspective on canvas, along with the interesting journey his life took. Our time at the Rijksmuseum was about 3 hours and then about 2.5 hours at the Van Gogh museum with about a 30 minute break in between to grab a quick lunch. It was a long day and if we were to see these two museums again, we would do each on separate days. But definitely ask to be on Anna N’s tour!

Anne was a wonderful tour guide for the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh. She provided an excellent amount of information and made sure we saw all the important masterpieces and even some from the less famous artists. She made the museums so interesting and fun! The morning half of the tour was basically a private tour and the afternoon portion a few people joined us but Anne managed us and our time beautifully. Her tour is a MUST if you don’t have days to explore the museums! Highly recommend!!

What an amazing experience having Clare as our tour guide at both the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum! She had excellent knowledge, presentation, and insights of both the artists and their paintings. A trained artist herself, she thoroughly described each piece by its artistic design and style. We learned so much but also just had a great time. Clare made the art come alive by telling us stories about each piece. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide!

Diana was the best tour guide! I thoroughly enjoyed spending the day with her and learning about Dutch artists. Her warm personality and visual aids were plus to the presentation. The plan of going to two museums in a day was daunting but with her guidance we were able to see almost the entirety of both museums.

One of our priorities in coming to Amsterdam was to tour the Rijks and Van Gogh museums and knew we couldn’t do it without an expert guide. Ewald was exceptional. His knowledge of history and art is vast. He made sure to tailor the tour to what we wanted to see but we deferred to him and his expertise to lead the way. Such a phenomenal experience that anyone interested in art history should do. The best.
We spent the day with Ewald and in the end we learned quite a bit. He was pleasant, understanding and very knowledgeable. I would do it again tomorrow!

This is an amazing tour. Our guide, Anna N., uses her knowledge of politics to provide a unique and insightful perspective on the art industry generally as well as notable works of art in the Rijks and VG Museum. She is very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. She is also very funny! Lastly, we were running a few minutes late and she graciously waited for us, followed by a wonderful and extensive tour of both museums. I strongly recommend this tour with Anna N. for 2 reasons: we learned about the art industry as a whole and the underpinnings of why artists come to fame; we learned how to properly view and understand works of art by Van Gogh, Rembrandt, and other notable artists.

This was an excellent "best of" tour of the two most popular art museums in Amsterdam. Anna was our guide and was extremely interesting, knowledgable, and had great background info on artists and the art work we viewed. I learned things I'd never heard about what specific items meant if included in a painting of that period. Her background stories were fascinating as well as informative.
Anita was a passionate guide and the orginisation of the tour was well thought through within the gallery with her ongoing commentary and ability to locate us with the audio guide … given the large crowds .
I experienced one of the best tours of my life with Ewald. His stories, knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm brought everything alive and kept our group engaged for the whole day!! He also communicated well before the tour so I knew exactly where and how to meet him. Definitely worth it to do this tour rather than a pre-recorded tour or wandering on your own. Whether you choose to tour both museums in a single day or in 2 half days, I can’t recommend Ewald highly enough!!

We had an outstanding day with our guide, Frank. He gave us lots of historical background and zoomed in on interesting artistic aspects of the various paintings. He led us through the enormous Rijksmuseum to find all the important works and also gave us very detailed information about the life of Vincent van Gogh.

Diana, our guide was excellent! Clearly has studied these artists in depth and is able to communicate what she has learned to tourists who, like me, likely know little coming into to the tour. If you are doing the combo all in one, just know it is a lot of walking with about an hour for lunch. So if you have the time, you might want to break it up over 2 days. But both museums are worth the visit.

Heart string pulling artwork presented beautifully and with majesty. Our tour guide Clare was on point, well educated in art, very easy to talk to and with and even when presented engineering questions thru the images presented in the paintings had an intelligent input based on experience.
