Our private tour driver Hamza Boroes was amazing. He pointed out different sights along the way on our route to Bruges. He made many recommendations on sights to see and places to shop and eat. He told us a little about his wife and that he is an expectant father. He asked many questions about us and our families as well. He made the 3 hour drive to and from Bruges a little less tedious by engaging in conversation along the way

If you only have one day outside of Amsterdam this is the tour for seeing Bruges. It is a long drive and Jamal was wonderful. The Gravensteen castle was very unique and audio guide was very funny in a dark sort of way. Bruges is a place you have to visit once and we will definitely be back to actually stay there overnight. Jamal helped us with suggestions and a game plan for the 4 hours in Bruges! Do this tour if you want to stay away from the big buses and have a private experience. Ask for Jamal!
It was an early day but we got to Ghent in time to see the 10:15 opening of the alterpiece. We visited the castle next then hed off to Bruges for more fun. Peter was an awesome and safe driver and friendly. I love this type of tour because you get to make your itinerary your own. Got back to Amsterdam by 6pm. Long day but enjoyed all the sights!
Peter, our driver, did an excellent job of getting us to the key market and significant historical sites. Easy walking access, no problems with drop off or pick up! Job well done
Tour was a great way to see the medieval Belgian towns of Bruges and Ghent from Amsterdam in 1 day. The tour is a long day (12 hour tour), which includes ~7 1/2 hours round trip drive time, ~2 hours in Ghent, and ~2 1/2 hours in Bruges. To mention, in the the towns, this is a self guided tour. The highlight in Ghent is touring the beautiful Gravensteen medieval castle, which takes at least 1 hour and is a must to do. Other options are a canal boat cruise, having a coffee and Belgian waffle at the many cafes, and visiting several churches, but due to the limited time, it is not possible to do everything. In Bruges, the highlight is a canal cruise around the central historic area, but other options are visiting churches, shopping at the many stores, and getting lunch at the many restaurants. Ideally it would be good to have at least 3 hours in Ghent and 3 to 4 hours in Bruges as there is so much to see and do. However this tour is a great way to visit Belgium from Amsterdam and see two fabulous medieval towns in one day.
Hamza was great! He met us at the designated spot and did his best to navigate traffic and construction to ensure we had the most time possible at the locations. The castle was very interesting and Brugge was a beautiful city. When we arrived Hamza shared a list of recommendations that helped us use our time to the fullest. We could have spent more time exploring the city, but to fit it all in one day from Amsterdam, we made good use of the time. Hamza was very accommodating and made sure we had a pleasant experience.
Tour guide did not show up. We dragged the kids out of bed at 6:30 am and waited an hour. Finally got a message 1.5 hours later that they had an issue and could be there after another hour. We did a different tour with Trip Advisor and their communication was great. I will not book with Viator in the future.
Peter did a great job driving us to the destinations. He was a little on the quiet side but very pleasant. Long day but good experience.
We really enjoyed this day-long sightseeing trip to Bruges. Our driver Gavin picked us up right on time at our hotel and we had a super comfortable 3-hour ride to Bruges. Once there, Gavin walked us around the town and showed us a few places before letting us set out on our own for 3 hours. The town was busy, but beautiful! Lots of cool architecture to marvel at and some very good restaurants and shops to visit. When we were done exploring, we just texted Gavin and he picked us right up and headed back to Amsterdam. We're very glad we made the day trip to this awesome town.
Cornelis was our driver. He was very attentive and professional, and he gave us a good overview of Bruges before we adventured out on our own. Beautiful town and people, Several awe inspiring historic churches, Michelangelo’s Madonna, the horse and buggy ride, and the delicious Belgian waffles made for a great trip! Highly recommend that others take this adventure!
The drive was very comfortable. This is a great trip for an intimate group. Enjoyed the freedom of just being dropped off a d enjoying the beautiful town of Brugee.
Peter, our driver, was a native to Amsterdam. He was very knowledgeable about the areas we drove through and upon our arrival to Bruges, he knew exactly the best spot to send us on our adventures. We had an amazing walk through Bruges. When we were all done, Peter was ready and waiting with the car to swoop us back to Amsterdam. I highly recommend Peter and this tour to visitors!
Bruges is wonderful and worth the trip although it would have been great to have more time there. Gavin was a super driver and very polite and gave us great suggestions for our visit.
The one day trip from Amsterdam to Bruges was comfortable and Bruges did not disappoint. The trip takes 3 hours each way and 4 hours spent in the city maybe a little short but we couldn’t stay the night due to our itinerary. The Mercedes minivan was very comfortable and Dutch countryside is beautiful. Guillermo is a very professional driver and fluent in English. We took a nap on the way back to Amsterdam and the trip was not as tiring as it could have been.
Private tour to Bruges from Amsterdam with Gavin. He was punctual, pleasant and informative. Let us stroll the centre of Bruges before returning us back to Amsterdam. Highly recommended.
I had wanted to visit Bruges ever since I read about the Church of the Holy Blood dating to the 12th Century. What a thrill to actually be able to visit this Holy place. I get goosebumps just remembering the experience of it. Bruges is quaint and look back at time. I had four goals for my visit: 1) Church of the Holy Blood; 2) Belgium chocolate; 3) Belgium lace; 4) to drink the marvelous Cherry Beer Mort Subite. I am so happy to say that I accomplished all four goals. A trip I will never forget!
6 hours total bus ride. No wifi on bus, and worse , no toilet paper in the WC!. English speaking tour guide did not know English very well. Beautiful city. Cheap way to get there. I recommend seeing Bruges. Take this company tour only if the others are booked.
Great trip from start to finish. Our driver Guill contacted us the night before to verify time of departure from Amsterdam. He was on time. Very professional the whole distance. Drive from Amsterdam to Bruge was very pleasant. Guill would point out during the trip the places we were passing by. Once we got to Bruge, Guill walked us past all the important locations to be viewed. Also provided maps (via Whasapp) of all the most interesting places and gave us his recommendations of where to eat (House of Waffles) as well as his favorite chocolate store (The Chocolate Line). Both were fantastic recommendations. Because there was a Marathon being run that day in Bruge, the place was full of tourists plus all the competitors. We got lost getting back to the car. Guill went looking for us (glad he did as we got turned around) and walked us back to the van. Drive back to Amsterdam was also very pleasant. At the end of the trip, he provided us with recommendations of places to have dinner in Amsterdam. Great trip, great pictures from it, and phenomenal service from Guill and VIP Travel.
Beautiful Bruges, it is worth knowing, history, architecture, landscapes, culture. We like it very much and recommend it.
