Everything about our experience was seamless and fun. They were great with communication and planning suggestions. Our transportation from the airport to the hotel was timely and friendly. Our tour guide Wien was great! She was very information and attentive to the needs of our family. Would recommend them highly to make your Amsterdam visit as easy as if you were staying with family.

Great trip to cheese making, wind mills and castle de Haar. Excellent guide was friendly and knowledgeable
Great tour to see the tulips, Kukenhof Gardens and Mills. Mieke was a great tour guide. We had a 12 hour layover in AMS and this was great because Mieke picked us up and dropped us right back at the airport. higly recommend!
Fabulous day with the best guide! Our day with Stefka couldn’t have been more informative and fun. She is so knowledgeable about Keukenhof, tulips, history of the Netherlands…anything we could ask! Recommend very highly.
We hired Stefka and Holland Private Tour for an all day trip from Amsterdam to Delft and The Hague. Stefka (and Ilonka) were very prompt in their communication and set up a perfect itinerary for us based on our interests, ranging from the Royal Delft pottery museum, to walking tours of Delft and The Hague, to the Mauritshaus and Escher museums in The Hague, to finding a perfect spot for lunch. Our tour guide Vincent was extremely knowledgeable and really made the history of the Netherlands come to life for us. We considered doing a less expensive big bus tour, but we were so glad we chose.Holland Private Tour because they could pick us up at our hotel, they were able to give us a guided tour during the one hour to and from Delft/The Hague without us having to worry about renting a car and driving or taking the train, the driver was able to drop us right at the front of everywhere we wanted to go, and we were in such good hands all day. We will definitely use this company again on a return trip to the Netherlands for a customized private tour. Thank you for an incredible experience that we will remember for a very long time!
A group of 7 of us were heading on a cruise out of Amsterdam, but were landing early in the morning of the day before the cruise departed and we didn't want to lose a whole day sitting in a hotel room. We are quite a diverse group with a broad range of interests. We are all well-travelled; some more than others. So, when I went looking for a tour, a "customizable" tour caught my interest. I read the advertisement; I read the descriptions: I read the reviews. I was impressed. When I discussed with my friends what we might request of our tour guide as he customizes our tour, I got a broad range of suggestions, requests and lots of I don't know.... I just want to really enjoy the day. Well, we got all that we asked for, thought of, dreamed of and then some. Niels is an excellent tour guide. He is knowledgeable about a lot of topics from the politics driving the impressive growth of the Netherlands, the social fabric of individual villages and communities, the history of massive engineering feats, the policies created to encourage the placement and development of the people to meet over-arching goals and the outcomes! So, even when we were driving back to our hotel at the end of the day, we were learning from him. Niels was attentive to our needs, seeded questions to get us thinking, and ensured that we all could see, hear and understand demonstrations shown to us We asked to be shown what life was like for the rural folks outside of Amsterdam. We wanted to see small unique villages. We wanted great local food, not once, but twice during our tour. And finally, we wanted to be back at our hotel to get a great night's sleep and be ready to get on our cruise ship the next day. He did all of that for us. I hope if Niels ever does decide to come to Canada that he gets in touch with me so we can try to be 1/2 the hosts to him that he was to us. I would highly recommend indulging in an amazing experience by signing up for this tour.
We had a great experience with this custom tour. We went to some windmills, stopped in Delft, and then on to Kuekenhoff where our guide gave us a fabulous tour. We truly enjoyed the day, and after he gave us suggestions on where to eat and where to get the best stroopwaffel. Highly recommend using Neils!
It was a very nice day. We were able to visit all of the places we wanted to and had a lovely time at lunch in Deventer. The Kroeler Mueller museum was a nice addition to our tour of various Dutch institutions. Our guide was helpful and we enjoyed nthe day with him.
I’ve hesitated to write this review because our driver was such a nice person, but people around me have urged me to write. We paid almost $1000 for a car and guide to visit the Mauritshuis, Delft and Keukenhof. At the start of the trip, I made it clear that I was very interested in all the details about the Netherlands: geography, history, politics, etc. Unfortunately, all we got was a car and driver. Unless I asked a specific question, our so-called “guide” didn’t offer any information. The very reason I often hire a private guide is to have a better, fuller tourist experience than I’d get sitting in a bus. Perhaps it is the policy of Viator to hire people who can only provide minimal information. That has not been my experience with other companies (“Tours by Locals”, for example) or in other countries.
Neils was our guide. While we saw a lot of sites, we were not hurried. He took the time to explain and educate us on the places we visited. He was extraordinarly kind and helpful. We had our grandchild with us (less than 2 years old) and while the baby was good, Neils was very considerate of the baby. By the end of the trip, we felt like he was family which just made the experience that much more special. I would highly recommend this trip and this guide.
This was the highlight of our time in Amsterdam!! Our guide did such a great job tailoring a tour to our family of 5, we have three boys 7,13,16. We started at a dairy farm that also makes wooden shoes. We got to see how the shoes were made and then how they make their Gouda. Also got to sample a bunch of flavors, so delicious, and finished with a stroll through the barn to visit the cows, including a new born calf. We then visited a pumping station, amazing for any engineers! Then lunch at a local restaurant, so delicious!! Finally we drove to a windmill. That was so fun for everyone! Climbing up to the top and also seeing how people lived in them was so intriguing to us all. Finished it off with some drinks at a spot on the same spot as the windmill. Would 100% recommend and even do this tour again!
The best tour ever. It was so much fun and the Stefka the tour guide was the best. She is knowledgeable and fun. I highly recommend this tour.
It was nice to see the countryside, a farm, chees and clogg makings. Visiting a Mill and small villages but I think the cost is to high for what you get.
Our tour director was fabulous. Gave us so much information and made our full day tour very easy to enjoy the day
We chose to customize our itinerary and this was the best tour guide we've ever had ... after years of traveling globally and countless tours. It was fun, informative, personable, etc. The highlight of our trip!! We picked several things to visit over 3 days. Outstanding service and value!!
The tour operator did a truly remarkable job of communication in advance of the trip to suggest and confirm itinerary. The tour guide was very punctual and personable, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable day.
What a full, interesting, and enjoyable day with our guide, Hans! We will forever remember the beautiful Dutch countryside and small towns. Thank you for the memories!
Our group of 9 had a great day trip out of Amsterdam. We went to a family run dairy farm to see how cheese is made & wooden clogs as well, then to Edam for a great tour & a wonderful lunch. Also we visited beemster & saw the windmills. Neils was a fantastic guide! He was great answering all our questions & we learned a lot about the Netherlands. I highly recommend this tour & Neils as a guide!
Stefka is amazing! We’re a family of two adults and three kiddos (10/10/7) and she made sure the kids stayed engaged the entire time. They loved the cow farm, visiting the windmill, lunch at the small restaurant nearby, our town visit to Edam, and visit to the beach (for coffee). We were visiting Amsterdam for five days and this was my favorite day (all days were good, but Stefka really made this special). The two young ladies in the restaurant near the windmill tour took the time to write a quick “Happy Birthday” note on my kids’ apple pie desserts - so awesome! Anyone on the fence about booking this, please just do it. Stefka is very pleasant, talks just the right amount, and takes you to where the locals are (which is what we wanted). Spending the day outside Amsterdam was so important for us as we got to see a portion of the country that we feel isn’t visited enough by tourists.
We had a great day exploring! Miko was great! He was very knowledgeable and friendly! We definitely enjoyed the custom tour and were able to see so much more than we would have been able to on our own. He worked with us to modify the tour based upon our interests. I'd definitely recommend!
From the beginning, Stefka was easily reachable, friendly and very helpful with what we wanted to achieve on our first day in the Netherlands. We landed at 8am, bleary eyed and Stefka was a friendly breath of fresh air welcoming us. Her car was clean and spacious, and she is a very safe driver. Also loved the iPad videos on different bits of Dutch history! It is worth noting our tour was on Kings Day which is a national holiday in the Netherlands but if somewhere was closed, Stefka had plan B, C, D all worked out. It felt like an authentic view of the Netherlands and Stefka has so much knowledge, it was so nice to spend the day with her- more like relaxing with a friend rather than being on a tour Highly, highly recommend and if we are ever back in the Netherlands would love to enlist Stefka again on our adventures!
Stefkas was so knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly. We contacted her with a list of things we were interested in seeing and she made it happen. It was great getting away form the standard tours.
I enjoyed the cheese tour and the wooden shoe maker that was combined together. It’s great to support the locals while you travel. Seeing the windmill was very interesting and how it operated. Very nice and good restaurant for lunch. Staff very friendly. Our tour guide Stefkas was fabulous and was very knowledgeable and very friendly!! I recommend her with 5 stars.
A wonderful trip worth every penny! Stefka was a fantastic guide who helped to customize the itinerary to our interests so we got the insider experience. The pace of the trip was excellent with enough time to explore without being rushed; the lunch was in a cosy restaurant with enough options and we tried some Dutch dishes. Stefka was well prepared and answered all our questions even though some topics were quite specialized. Overall, an excellent trip! For reference, it was a trip for 3 adults and we frequently book private tours while on vacation.
This experience was wonderful. Stefka contacted us before we arrived in Amsterdam to find out what we wanted to do. We were going to a small village to see our great grandmother's house that is part of a small museum. Stefka researched the place and the museum for us. She picked us up on time at our hotel and during the drive she provided information on where we were and features such as the improvements in a dam project. She is personable and conversations were easy and informative. When we arrived she translated the available information for us, helped us to find information about our family and was kind and never overbearing. We went to a small cafe for lunch and with Stefka's help, discovered that the proprietor was actually a second cousin. She and my sister found some books in a back room and she helped us determine my great grandmother's first name. We stopped at a grocery on the way back and got the best Dutch cookies at her recommendation that we enjoyed all during our trip. By using this service, my husband avoided driving and could enjoy the trip and the countryside. After we parted, Stefka even sent us a recipe for a dessert we enjoyed during the trip. We can't recommend her enough. This service was worth every penny!!
We reached out to Stefka a few weeks prior to our trip over the Thanksgiving holiday. My sister and I had a lot of things that we wanted to see in a short amount of time and Stefka managed to fit it all! She was a great tour guide and very efficient. Our trip to The Hague and Delft were definitely the highlights! She did everything that she could for us to avoid the crowds. When she realized that we moved through things quickly, she added on an extra walking tour of Delft which we really enjoyed. I also want say that the spot she picked for lunch was exactly what we were looking for: a good local seafood at an amazing price, that we would have never been able to find on our own. My sister and I are so pleased with the tour, that we even asked Stefka about possible tours that we could do with her when we return to Amsterdam. (Hopefully during a warmer month instead of the end of November/beginning of December when we went last time). I am especially interested in the food tours that she mentioned.
Niels was great ! We had terrible rainy weather that day but we still had agreat time. He called me the day before to comfirm every thing. He meet us outside the hotel right on time. It was just myself and my adult daughter. He even had an extra jacket for me because I had mentioned I left more on the plane. He was very informativeand helpful. We would hire him again in a minute.
Our tour guide, Stefka, was absolutely spectacular. Very knowledgeable about the history, landmarks, culture, people, and funky side of Amsterdam. She was promptly on time, very courteous, and protected us from all the cyclist running around. I would definitely recommend her to other tourists.
Look no further if you want a private tour in Amsterdam!! Travel Organization Holland under the management of Stefka Waaijer is beyond comparison. She responded immediately before we left our home inquiring what we wanted to do/see. After providing some primitive family root information, Stefka did additional unsolicited research on her own and provided more detail about our Dutch relatives than we ever knew. She personally arranged for a private meeting at my great grandparent’s church from the late 1800’s with the church’s lead volunteer (Henk). Also, she was able to locate the local windmill shown on many family memoirs that I emailed prior to the trip. From the old windmill to the fine cigar shop in Amsterdam (hey, I needed a Cuban). Peter was informative, affable and “fun”. He is truly a “gem” and a key asset to Stefka’s company. We remain in awe that this company took the time to show true and genuine interest in our humble family who departed Holland 125 years ago😮. The tour was a memory that will be remembered forever. Again, don’t waste your time researching anyone else. These folks are beyond belief👍😊
Our day began with disappointment. We were met at the agreed upon place on time. Good start! As the person approached us I greeted with "Hello Stefka" and was told "I am not Stefka. I will be your guide today". Amazingly, only 2 weeks earlier I had received an email from Stefka telling me she would be our tour guide and then no communication to let us know there had been a change. Our guide did not seem terribly familiar with Amsterdam, but that wasn't all so offputting as our tour was really outside of Amsterdam. First stop, the Flora Holland Flower Auction. Our guide, while enroute to the flower auction, tried to talk to us, but those in the back of the van (there were 6 of us) were struggling to hear. Finally, she stopped and got out a small speaker with a microphone that was a slight improvement. In my mind, a professional guide picking up 6 customers would have already had the speaker system set up and working. At the flower auction we merely walked through. She did not really give us a tour or much information. I later discovered there was a tour app we could have downloaded on our phone and really enhanced our own self-guided tour. She drove us next to Delft whre we were handed over to a tour guide at the Delft pottery factory. Great stop, good tour. Our guide's selection for lunch was outstanding. Having lunch at Scheveningen Beach was our highlight of the day. While Stefka had previously expressed to me that the Peace Palace would be closed on the Monday we were visiting, this seemed to come as a surprise to our guide that day. Instead, she pulled up information on her cell phone and read to us information from the web about the Peace Palace / International Court of Justice. We then walked to the Binnenhof (Dutch Parliament) and we walked around for awhile. She wasn't real informative about Parliament and the buildings. What we ended up having was a driver for the day, not a tour guide. We payed WAY too much just for the services of a driver. I am so disappointed that the owner of Travel Organization Holland has not followed up in the 4 weeks since the tour to check on our satisfaction. Like I wrote for the title of this review, there are probably better tour companies and guides.
We booked a Private Full-Day Customizable Tour by Holland Day Tours and are we very happy we did so. My wife’s parents were born outside of Amsterdam and we did not have very much information we could share with Stefka but did she ever deliver. Her research allowed us to visit places her family lived and worked and we ended the day with a family visit with her aunts. We had Wilfred as our host and he went far beyond the typical call of duty and we were so happy with his demeanor, professionalism and flexibility. All I can say is that you can’t go wrong with booking Stefka and her staff if you are looking for a customizable tour. Many thanks Stefka & Wilfred.
Our family of 5 booked a full-day tour and Stefka was our guide. We visited the Clara Maria farm, took a drive through the countryside on our way to the Hague with a stop at the windmills, had an excellent lunch on the beach, visited Madurodam and drove through the Hague with a stop at the Peace Palace. The farm was the first stop and it was absolutely fantastic! The animals, the cheese making, the presentation of how to make the clogs (with my daughter actually making one and taking it home as a souvenir) - we enjoyed every second of it! Stefka is very knowledgable, and gave great commentary as needed throughout the day, without it being boring or too much for the kids. The Madurodam miniature park was great for the kids, and they absolutely loved it. The Windmills stop was very educational and the whole scenery beautiful. The lunch stop at the beach in Scheveningen was great and the whole atmosphere throughout the day was very relaxing. We enjoyed our whole day tremendously and the direct feedback from the kids (15 an 12 years old) was that they really enjoyed it too! We will definitely keep Stefka in mind for any future tours on our next visits!
Hans took really good care of us. He arrived early and was very thorough and professional. Not only did we get to see all we had asked to see but Hans even threw in a surprise! And showed us the beautiful countryside. We truly enjoyed our time and highly recommend him. Thank you Hans for a memorable day!
After our day with Caspar we didn't have a good internet connection. Because this day was so great - it was worth waiting until I could connect to review our day. We spent a simply marvelous day with Caspar. He picked us up and within blocks we were busy swapping stories. Our first stop was in the tulip fields outside of Amsterdam. Caspar checked with the farmer and soon we were walking the fields, chatting with the pickers, and debating our favorite color. The next stop was in Giethoorn where Caspar piloted our small boat through the scenic canals. Who knew it was possible to be that relaxed while still awake? We stopped for lunch at a spot frequented mostly by locals (Cafe de Otterskooi). It is possible the waitress is still wondering what was going on with the group that laughed through their lunch. To finish our day, we stopped at a working windmill. It will be a few weeks before we find out just how good the bread is made with freshly milled flour. It was a magical day.
I booked the tour on Viator and Stefka was quick to email me with what I would like to do during the tour. I explained we would like to visit windmills, tulip and flower fields, and visit Keukenhof Gardens and she was quick to email me an itinerary that would accommodate all my requests. Few days before the tour I noticed I accidentally booked the wrong date for the tour and I quickly emailed Stefka in a panic and she was quick to reply that it would not be an issue and changed the tour date to the correct date for me. Our guide and driver was Wilfred. He was fantastic with a great personality. First we stopped at the windmills were there were 3 working windmills and visited one. Wilfred explained their function to the area and we saw the windmill in action pumping the water, than we went of to Hyacinth fields, the air in that area smelled amazing and the fields were incredible. He allowed us to fly our drone there and the footage is unbelievable. We also stopped to get some shots of Tulip fields before going to Keukenhof. He gave us an explanation of the gardens and gave us free time to explore. WOW. I'm soooo happy that we came to the Netherlands in Tulip season and even more happier that I found Holland Private Tours and Wilfred to show us around. Definitely recommend.

Stefka is a great guide. This was the 2nd time I have used her and she didn't disappoint. We went to the beach for lunch, which I would have never expected. We also saw cheese and clog making and visited a windmill. Great day.

Well, our private day was absolutely PERFECT!!! Svetka, the tour operator and guide was amazing!! Picked us right on time, heard our wishes, and off we went. It was my birthday, July 15th a Sunday in Amsterdam and so very busy but she found us quiet, unique places to enjoy and share together. i was with my husband, step daughter, and step granddaughter. The banter was perfect, the adventure perfect, Svetka PERFECT!! We had wanted to have lunch at a beach and she, with her GPS, saw that the roads where we wanted to go were going to be full and slow so she deviated and went to a windmill that was more local than anything and had hot Dutch Apple pie and whipped cream for my birthday cake. OMG!!! and then off to the beach at the end of the day for an early dinner and again, OMG it was so perfect. Svetka, THANK YOU SO MUCH for the best birthday and travel adventure I have ever had. I will always remember!!
My family, of 10 adults, used Holland tours for a customized day in the countryside and the Peace Palace tour. Stefka was a wonderful tour guide and took us to a working windmill and explained about how it works and the history, then onto a delicious clog and cheese factory. This was a lot of fun to see how cheese and clogs are made, ( we are now enjoying the cheese at home), We were able to sample all cheeses before purchasing. Then onto Delft to see the pottery making. She arranged a place for lunch before our Peace Palace tour in the Hague. Then back to our hotel. It was a great day and many thanks to Stefka for arranging it. I would recommend using Holland Tours.
I was tasked to organise a mini group tour for my colleagues. I chance upon this tour agent via Trip Advisor and the response received from Ms. Stefka was swift and prompt. There was no hidden cost, everything was indicated clearly with just few emails correspondence. Payment to them was easy and the invoice was generated straight away. When traveled with her to the Tulip Garden, Giethoorn, Farm Tour on two separate days and last trip to Bruges with another Guide, Mr Wilfred. Everything was perfect, we were very satisfied with her service. It's highly recommended for anyone who requires a good private tour within Amsterdam.

Stefka was a great tour guide. We visited Delft, cheesemaking and wooden shoe making farm, and windmills. The farm owner's wife was from San Antonio, Texas which made it fun for us since we are from Texas. This was a great day. I am booking this tour again for our trip in July.

We had a wonderful day with Stefka. She was very personal and flexible. We had asked to be shown places in Amsterdam that she usually does not cover, but she read up on these places and was very informative. She was able to fit in everything we wanted to see in a very relaxing and enjoyable day.

Had an amazing tour with the lovely Stefka..nothing was too much trouble. She came to pick up us from the cruise terminal which was super easy! Went to the Kinderdijk windmills and then onto Scheveningen for lunch along the beach which was a treat! and then onto Madurodam miniature world and last stop at a dairy farm to see how they make cheese, clogs and of course a bit of shopping. And were dropped off in plenty of time for the cruise departure.
I highly recommend doing a tour with Stefka..whos very knowledgable and super friendly. Thanks again for a lovely day!

We did a custom tour to Wageningen where our family immigrated from in 1660! Casper our friendly tour guide picked us up at our hotel and drive us to Wageningen. There we meet a delightful lady that was a member of the local historical group. She toured us around the "Old Town"! Best trip ever!!

Casper was an excellent tour guide. We went to a Deft pottery house, Rotterdam market and Euromast and the Hauge. He was personable and knowledgeable. Also a good driver! Would highly recommend

We visited the Clara Maria dairy farm where they demonstrated making Gouda cheese and the famous wooden shoes. Our tour continued to a historical windmill and a scenic drive through typical Dutch landscape of Beemster polder where the tulip fields were all around. We then visited the lovely town of De Rijp where we had a nice lunch and a stroll through the cobble streets that took us back in time. We also visited the Hortus Bulborum where they preserve 4,000 spring-flowering historical bulbs, since 1577. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Stefka. She was very knowledgable about the areas and planned a great day for us. Highly recommend this tour.

We had such a wonderful experience booking our Private Driving Tour of Holland using Viator. Stefka was so quick and helpful with her email replies while planning our tour itinerary. Our tour guide was Caspar and he was nothing short of AMAZING!! Caspar was so professional, incredibly knowledgeable and fun! If you can request him- please do!

We started our tour early 8:30am to try to beat the crowds at Keukenhof- which is an absolute must if youre visiting while its open. The colors and cleanliness of that park is remarkable! After a couple hours wandering the tulip beds we took a drive past the colorful tulip fields and up to have lunch by the Sea try the Dutch Kroketten Croquettes! After a yummy lunch we drove to the Delft Blue pottery factory which was fascinating to learn about. The hand painted pottery is gorgeous and the history behind it is quite interesting.

We ended our tour at the Clara Maria Cheese Farm and Clog Factory. Their staff there is very friendly and fun. The cheese was delicious- we all wound up taking some home.

Overall the tour was fabulous and Caspar was a fantastic guide and also great company!

Thanks again Stefka and Caspar!

Sincerely,
Robyn, Laurie and Eileen

Caspar is the best! We worked with our tour guide, via email, to customize our tour. He did a wonderful job of incorporating all our desired stops into our tour. Our first stop was Clara Maria Cheese and Clog Farm. Located in the nearby village of Amstelveen, it is a picturesque glimpse of life on a traditional Dutch farm. You can even see the cows there! We watched wooden clogs being made and had a demonstration of cheese making. They have a fantastic gift shop here!
Our next stop was the Delft pottery factory. This was one of our desired stops and we enjoyed seeing how the pottery is made and, of course, shopping in the factory shop! We are each enjoying a piece of the beautiful blue and white pottery as a reminder of a once in a lifetime trip!
Finishing the day, and finally bringing a bit of sunshine was the primary reason for this trip to Holland! The World Famous Keukenhof Garden is a must see, and did not disappoint! The only disappointing thing is that we did not have time to see it all!
I highly recommend this tour, since you can customize it to your individual desired attractions. Caspar was attentive, knowledgable, and very much fun to travel with! He kept us on our timeline, which can be difficult with four women in gift shops!!

Our full day customizable Holland tour from Amsterdam was amazing! Stefka Waaijer put together a tour that encompassed all that I asked to see. We walked by windmills, visited a farmers market in Gouda, we had lunch at Scheveningen and then we found the grave of my grandmother in a cemetery that I had not been to since 1994, the street where my grandmother lived and we explored Clingendael park. Truly a memorable day and Stefka was a professional and knowledgeable guide. I know so much more about Dutch history and the Netherlands. It was a wonderful day!!
