This was our first visit to Amsterdam and my first trip abroad since my PD diagnosis, so I wanted to get some local help to ensure both I and my partner got the most out of our short trip I chose Bespoke Amsterdam Experiences as they offered all the activities we were interested in - food, tulips, windmills and boats It was very easy to make contact with them to ask questions - especially about my mobility issues, and how this could be accommodated in the activities we were interested in. After the first contact, we had a dedicated person who handled all follow-up questions and bookings before and throughout our trip, which was very comforting and at no time was there any confusion or problem with language nuances On our first full day, we booked a private Dutch food tour. Despite the rain, our guide Kayleigh was excellent. She had been fully briefed about my condition and was always aware of my needs, whilst making sure my partner did not miss out on anything We got to try new food and drink along with the local knowledge on where best to find this. For anyone also interested in knowing more about the places they visit, we also got a very detailed and knowledgeable history of the location and food/drink we experienced Bespoke Amsterdam Experiences not only listened to my upfront concerns and needs, but they also went out of their way to adapt the experience around these and at no time did I feel awkward or uncomfortable After the trip, we took away an amazing list of restaurants, bars and food to try during our stay

Chris, our tour guide, was amazing. We got so much more than a food tour! We ate so many delicious and interesting foods and learned the history and significance of many of them. I would definitely recommend him. Well worth it. Note: ask Viator to put you in touch with your guide prior to setting out for your meeting place so you can verify with the actual guide as to exactly where to meet. Chris went out of his way for us and showed us a great time!
This is a must do tour for anyone wanting a food tour mixed with a ton of culture and history along the way. Our guide drove the primary discussion but we were able to steer conversations to what we wanted to know and she had a ton of expertise on all of it. Every food place and item along the way felt well timed and all were delicious. I highly suggest this tour, but prepare for rain or shine as it truly is a lot of walking outdoors.
Guide very good. took plenty of breaks and provided good information for whats going on in Amsterdam today. Apple pie was great.
Stefan did a great job! He explained the history as well as the food of the Jordaan district. He was friendly and made us all feel welcome.
Our guide this time was Louke (Lucca). She was amazing from the get go and very lively. You can tell they do the research before bringing guests on tours. Money is well worth it with all of the food included. Be sure to bring an empty stomach
Louke was our guide and she was fun and shared her love of Amsterdam and the food with us. I would recommend this tour
We had booked this tour for our Amsterdam trip and were very excited for it. I love doing food tours when I go to new cities. My friend and I were around the corner from the meeting place. We left some extra time to make sure we arrived in time. Due to a large amount of construction on the road by the meeting point we had to go a very long way around. This caused us to be 2 minutes late. The tour had already left apparently. We tried contacting them with no reply. Because my friend’s friend knew the owner he contacted them and only through that did we find out that they had left they wouldn’t let us catch up even though we were a few minutes behind. I have been on food tours before where myself or others are late they call you and let you know where they’ll be and are very helpful. This was not the case at all. I would never book anything with this company again and wouldn’t suggest anyone else do either.
Great tour with Louke. Stopped at a number of Places to enjoy what Amsterdam has to offer. Well worth the time and cost.
Louke was a fantastic tour guide! We started off the morning right with a hot cup of coffee and some good ole history. The weather was perfect which added to the tour but louke knew her stuff and her little niches and personality was the highlight. It was a an absolute pleasure meeting you!
I had such a wonderfull time on this tour! Besides the delicious food I could taste, they also showed a lot of hidden gems and shared a lot of fun facts about Amsterdam. I was travelling solo, but never felt "solo" on this trip they made me feel included right from the start!
Stephan is passionate about sharing the best Amsterdam has to offer. With a bit of fun facts in between. I highly recommend Stephan's tour if you would like to know where are the best spots to street food.
I had such a wonderful time on Stephan's tour. He was well informed, well connected and just a gracious and lovely man. I enjoyed the variety of food we ate and his calm leadership and conversation skills made for a perfect and delicious afternoon. 5/5!
An amazing fun way of sampling the local food, being shown the best places for quality avoiding the touristy places! Our guide was very friendly and fun, without doubt it was the best day of our visit! I can not recommend this enough!
Wonderful way to explore the local cuisine and learn a bit of the Dutch culture. A small group of 8 which allowed our guide Stephan to interact with us all. Tastings of cheeses, bakery goods etc. gave a good example of different types of food available. Stephan was very knowledgeable and filled in between stops with history on the district. Tour was about 3 hrs but was an easy walk with stops along the way.
This was a terrific tour with the perfect amount of food and cultural knowledge. Stephan was a fantastic guide and accommodating during the rainy day.
Stephan's Food Tour was one of the highlights of our trip Amsterdam. There was a great selection of local foods to try, particularly fresh food from the market. Our host was very friendly and enjoyed sharing his knowledge and love of his city.
That was a great experience. Stephan is an easy-going, knowledgeable and overall nice guy who created a friendly atmosphere in our group from the very start. He also gave us lots of insights on Dutch ways making this more than just a food thing. The tour itself is very well paced in both walking and eating terms, food is diverse and delicious. If you're interested in local food and culture in general this tour is a great choice for you.
The tour was lovely, we visited several nice non-touristic places and also got some insights into Amsterdam history. Stephan is a really friendly and nice person, so it was never boring while walking from one place to another.
Stephan gave us a great look into local food stops. He was really personable and knew the neighborhood very well. It was a pleasure to spend a nice leisurely tour in this very quaint, quiet neighborhood. Stephan made it a point to accommodate all the guests on the tour. Felt like we were hanging out with a good, old friend who lived here. Would highly recommend this experience to families, couples, and solo travelers.
Our guide, Stephan, was really nice and friendly. As a visitor, his introduction to local Dutch food was really interesting and helpful. And we really tasted a lot of food to our heart's content. Our first day in Holland became extremely wonderful because of this tour : )
This was hands-down our favorite tour in Amsterdam and is perfect for couples and families. Stephan was the perfect guide: warm, personable and very knowledgeable. He made sure that everyone was having a great time. We likewise loved all the stops on the tour and the food was outstanding! Highly recommend this tour!
Wonderful way to see the streets of Amsterdam! Stephan was a perfectly charming host. He told us many unique stories and pieces of history about the area while we walked between food stores. He's also become a bit of a regular with many of the places he took us, so we were able to get some fun perspectives on the tasty foods (the cheese guy from Tromp was very passionate, and gave us a great selection of samples!) Since the group was relatively small, it felt nice and intimate, too. Stephan took the time to talk to us individually. Really enjoyed, I definitely recommend!
An incredibly friendly and knowledgeable tour of food tastings throughout the Jordaan area of Amsterdam. Stephan was a wonderful guide with a lot of passion for his job and getting to know each person within the group. You certainly won’t leave hungry or disappointed! Highly recommend this tour.
Like the food and the story Stephan told. It's definitely a good way to get to know more about the city, people, culture. Recommended!! And Stephan is a super nice tour guide!!
I spent about 5 days in Amsterdam and his tour was hands down one of the top three things I did during my trip. His tour is literally and figuratively easy to digest. I personally find tours a bit exhausting after the first hour but Stephan has managed to create an experience that is well balanced; there are perfectly timed stops throughout the tour dedicated to chatting about local history and fun facts in between food locations so that it is neither fact heavy nor food heavy. Stephan is very friendly and seems to have a great relationship with the local shop owners and marketplace vendors. Many of them were happy to chat with us to explain their food/products which made the tour experience even more welcoming and intimate. Do it, you won’t regret it!
Stephan provides a wonderful experience with this tour, from providing us with an excellent variety of great foods to being very knowledgable about Dutch culture and the area in general. You can’t go wrong with this tour.
Great guide that led us to some great places to eat typical Dutch foods: snacks, cheese, herring, cod, dates with walnuts etc. Very informative and a tour that I liked a lot; the beer at the end also helped :)
Fantastic food tour! Stephan was delightful. He treated us to a whole range of foods, from sweet to savory and everything in between, while giving us insight into Dutch culture. I loved having the opportunity to try so many different things in one afternoon and get the perspective of a local. Overall this tour felt very authentic and I would absolutely recommend it. Thanks Stephan!
Really cool food tour that shows you some nice places that you might not have found yourself. In our case Noa jumped in for Stephen who also gave us some interesting tips how to spot fresh fish.
My friends and I joined Stephan for the Dutch Food Tour. He took us to a few different spots and we had delicious, unexpected and amazing food. Stephan is very kind and friendly and I highly recommend this tour!
An amazing tour! Highlight of our Amsterdam trip. The food was delicious and we got to see unique local places that we otherwise wouldn't have found. Stephan and Noa were very nice and a perfect guides :)
Stephan gave us an amazing tour of the local food scene here in Amsterdam. The really great thing about Stephan is that he gets to know his guests. For example he found out we are chocolate lovers and he then added a chocolate place on our tour. All of the stops were great, and were away from the tourist areas. We could not have had a better guide or a better tour.
Stephan was a fantastic local guide to explore Amsterdam with. Another guide, Noa, also came along to provide extra insights and show us more spots to visit. We had a little bit of everything on the tour. Cheese, sweets, coffee, fresh herring, fries, and much more! I always love getting to know some friendly locals and experiencing the city as they do. Stephan walked us through some of the older neighborhoods in Amsterdam and provided some good historical context for how and why the city is the way it is today. Stephen and Noa were lovely guides for the day, spending extra time showing us around to be sure that we got a full and rich experience on the tour. They made lots of additional recommendations of things for us to try while we were staying in Amsterdam, too. Thanks, Stephan and Noa! — Chad & Nicole
We were 3 people for this tasty excursion. Many thanks to Violeta who makes us discover the best places to taste the Dutch specialties of Amsterdam. A beautiful break and a quality private excursion and a top organization. I highly recommend it. See you later.
