3 couples traveling together, they all enjoyed their time and sent feedback right after - "excellent experience"
The best experience. Aris was so much fun. We learned so much about cheese and different recipes to put them in. The wine pairing was wonderful. Aris kept the whole group laughing! We are so glad we did it.
We were the only ones on this tour so got a lot of information from our guide. It was very interesting to hear good ways to use the cheeses and how to pair the wines
Really enjoyed this activity, Rick hosted the pairings and shared his knowledge in a very easy manner. Would recommend to everyone.
Great experience! Our guide – presenter was extremely knowledgeable! We enjoyed it and actually learned as well! Would highly recommend!
Our Old Amsterdam Cheese tasting guide, Rick, was wonderful, entertaining, and informative. His pairing of wine with each cheese was superb. We agree “tasting is believing.” And we loved the distinct flavor of Old Amsterdam cheese. We couldn’t purchase this grand cheese at the shop as it requires refrigeration after at least 10 days and we will be traveling past this time. We will be looking for Old Amsterdam cheese when we return home.
Amazing experience, the guide was fab, as the guy in the shop
Aris was brilliant. A relaxed fun atmosphere we learnt so much about cheese whilst having fun
We learned a lot about cheese making and pairing it with wine. We thoroughly enjoyed the tastings, and picked up a lot of gifts to bring home.
We were just passing when one of the cheese (& wine) tastings was about to start, so we got some tickets, and weren't disappointed. It was an interesting talk, with some very tasty cheeses, paired with some nice wines, happy to recommend
We had an absolutely fantastic cheese and wine tasting experience at Old Amsterdam! The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so many interesting insights about the cheeses, wines, and their history—it really elevated the whole experience. What impressed us even more was the flexibility and kindness of the team. Due to a delayed flight, we unfortunately couldn’t make our original booking, but they kindly allowed us to reschedule for the next day without any hassle. That level of customer service is truly exceptional.
Excellent, fun and educational session. Learned a lot about cheese and theaccompanying beverages were excellent. Our host was engaging and knowledgeable a terrific experience
The cheese and wine tasting along with history lesson would’ve been great, however, Rick, the guide, was extremely rude to me multiple times. I was seemingly singled out and he made openly rude remarks to me, and only me, in front of the others. I was extremely uncomfortable and the whole experience was then awkward. An experience i paid for nonetheless.
It is an amazing experience. I went with mu boyfriend first. We liked it so much we went a second time with the family. Fun, interesting, and really tasty! 100% recommended
This was a fun experience. The guide/presenter was informative and the cheese and wine both very good.
Fun and entertaining. With my two kids (10y and 12y) we enjoyed the 1h cheese tasting session with Harris. —> Kudos to him, we spent a joyful hour with the kids ! If you have 1h spare in your itinerary in AMS, would strongly advise the cheese tasting session. => Everybody sees Gouda as a bland industrial cheese and you will be surprised after the tasting session to bring home a full bag of it 🤪.
Cheese and Wine tasting in Amsterdam Amsterdam We ended up being the only ones in the tasting but the presenter wasn't fazed by that! He was very knowledgeable and the wines and port matched the cheeses extremely well. Just a shame you can't currently take dairy into the UK at the moment otherwise we would definitely have taken some home! The service we received from him and the other staff in the shop was excellent and very friendly. Highly recommended!
This was a great experience. I knew I wanted to bring back some truly Dutch cheese and many of my friends requested I bring back some for them as well. The tasting was informative and well put together. Rick was my presenter and he did a wonderful job of explaining the cheesemaking process. He was also very knowledgeable regarding wine and cheese pairings. I love learning about new things and it made my cheese shopping more interesting. All of the people who work here were very kind. One even recommended a Greek restaurant near where I was staying and I ended up dining there the next night- and that was great too! Thanks Rick and George
This was a great experience! The host was super friendly and really fun! We learned a lot about the cheese and about the history of the business. And after the official tasting was over, he gave us some additional free samples as well! I would definitely do this again!
Old Amsterdam Cheese and Wine Tasting turned out to be one of the most enjoyable experiences of my trip. Our group was small — just two couples — though they can host up to around 18. The intimate size made it even better, and I walked out with a whole new appreciation for Gouda. The guide was absolutely outstanding: knowledgeable, engaging and genuinely passionate. I don’t usually tip on tours, but this one earned it. The wine pairings were a real highlight and added so much to the tasting. It’s excellent value, well run, and even has a bathroom available on-site. Honestly, it was the best 45 minutes I’ve spent on any tour in Amsterdam. Highly recommend, especially if you enjoy a good wine match with quality cheese.
Had an amazing experience here with my daughter. The cheeses and wine pairings were excellent and Rick was a brilliant, knowledgeable host. Purchased the cheese box too which was well worth the money. Would not hesitate to recommend this experience.
Where to start? The staff? Top tier. The history of cheese? Amazing. The tasting was beyond my wildest dreams and paired with the wines and the guide walking us through everything was highly amazing!
Our guide Aris was so entertaining and taught us a lot. Wine and cheese was paired well. Did not skimp on the wine either. Extremely reasonably priced
Rick was very knowledgeable about the wines and cheeses. You can also buy cheeses at the shop. Well worth the time!
Great just, very informative and lots of fun. It was great to be walked through the different cheeses and the wine pairings
This was a last minute addition to our trip to Amsterdam. Lovely host, delicious cheese and wine pairing. Educational and fun! I brought home all of the cheese that we tried. They sell the cheese provided for the tasting conveniently prepackaged so you can just grab them and check out. When leaving Amsterdam, airport security made me tear the packaging apart, so if you were buying the prepackaged selections as a gift you may need to do something creative when gifting, as all of the cheese will be loose rather than packaged together.
Great wine and Cheese pairing. Really enjoyed Rick and the way he presented the cheese and history of Old Amsterdam.
Had a fabulous time. Very informative session. Lovely cheese and wine. Arias who led the tasting made the whole experience fabulous.
We enjoyed the tour, it was good and worth it. Lovely selection of cheese and wines, and the person presenting the tour was good and fun too.
Very overpriced and overall bad experience. For in total 50 Euro for two people, i can get so much cheese and wine at home or even at the nice Kaasbar in Amsterdam. Here, when we arrived the cheese was already put on the table, very warm and held under a plastic foil. The wine "tasting" or how they call it on the website the "pairing of wine" consisted of one white and one red wine, also already poured into the glasses when we came to the location. Both were warm, while white wine is supposed to be served cold. The whole presentation plus tasting took 30min. There was no movie shown like on the pictures. Overall a very bad and disappointing experience.
It was awesome. We were looked after by a lovely host and enjoyed it learning about cheese and wine combinations. Great afternoon
Our guide was great !!!! He made it better. Aris thank you for the nice afternoon. A lot of fun, education, cheese and wine.
A great one hour spent. The presenter was so knowledgeable about Amsterdam's cheeses and wines. Loved the whole event, and would suggest it for everyone.
Learned about the history and making of cheese. We were lucky enough to have just our group so it made it memorable and fun
Personal and pleasant tasting. 5 cheeses serve with a white, a red, and a port. We enjoyed it a lot.
The perfect balance between learning about the company and learning about the making of cheese, as well as tasting and drinking! Big compliments to our greek presentor!
The experience was very informative and good fun for an hour. The cheese and wine were all very tasty and our cheese master was very good
Great experience - tasted 5 cheeses with white, red and port wines. The explanation of the cheese and what made wine pairing work was helpful. Also the history of the cheese making was interesting and informative. The facilitator was great - we really enjoyed.
It’s an hour well spent in Amsterdam. The host was very knowledgable and shared some great background to cheese making.
Amazing experience, definitely try this out. The cheese master explained a lot about the different cheeses and their best pairing with wines.
We really enjoyed our cheese and wine tasting by Denise (sorry if incorrect spelling) she was very knowledgeable and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend.
Very fine and knowledgeable explanation about the different cheeses. I will recommend this for everyone who loves cheese (and wine).
Taste five cheeses in combination with three wines as an introduction to how they can be complementary. Overall informative as an introduction to Dutch cheese. Need to realize that it is more of an advertisement for the business and a promotion. Not bad but most cheese shops will have the same tastings.
If you have a little more time, it's a good experience. Nice explanation about history and cheese...
Loved this adventure. Wine and cheese were wonderful. We learned a lot Speaker was knowledgeable and friendly.
I learned so much about cheese making! Maria was a fantastic guide! Traveling solo and was a great way to meet new people and share stories!
This was a great way to spend an hour in Amsterdam. The cheese and wine tasted were excellent with information about the cheese and how they are made. Staff were lovely and courteous.
Really interesting presentation of a few of the many cheeses offered by this company, along with paired red & white wines. A brief history & overview of the cheese making process completed the experience.
Killian was a really friendly and engaging host and the cheese and the wine pairings were great. Would highly recommend.
