Giethoorn was lovely and we enjoyed our time there. Regarding this particular tour, that morning public transportation workers were striking, so there was a lot of traffic and our driver was a little late. They were EXCELLENT in communicating his arrival time, giving us more time to get ready in our room (which we really appreciated, because mornings are hard) instead of waiting in front of the hotel.

Very chilled out experience with nice sights. Tour guide was polite and made everyone smile but also allowed people time to relax and knew when talking wasn’t required.
Cooperative Punctual Friendly
The village is so charming, but the boat trip is certainly the best part. Our guide was very personable and knowledgeable, which I very much enjoyed. We had plenty of free time to wander the sidewalks and bridges.
Amazing trip! The guide was phenomenal and her service was exceptional. I recommend her 100%. If another trip comes up, I will definitely use her services as my guide again.
Cherie was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Car was very comfortable. Easy and enjoyable day trip from Amsterdam. Recommend!
Traveling with Cherry was so much fun! She is very knowledgeable and friendly. She showed us many local spots in the Netherlands and told us a lot about Dutch landmarks. I highly recommend exploring Amsterdam with Cherry!
It was the perfect trip we could hope for.. Very nice car and very nice host and driver Definitely book this tour without thinking
It was a very enjoyable trip. Veronica was a fantastic guide very energetic and pleasant . Would recommend this trip to anyone
Giethoorn is a very quaint village that is overrun by far too many tourists. The crowds on the footpaths, in the restaurants, and especially in the canals where it was bow to stern boat traffic was particularly disappointing. To add insult to injury, the tour company, Cherry Tours, committed the unforgivable blunder of designating their meeting/pickup spot exactly where five thousand runners were marshaling for a marathon. The one bright spot was a tour guide, Amy, who was knowledgeable, friendly and informative.Giethoorn is a lovely village until the tourist invaders show up.
Veronica was wonderful! Our day trip was fun, informative, and stress-free. We learned so much and had fun while doing it! Her knowledge of the towns we traveled to and of Dutch culture was impressive. Would recommend to anyone!
the day trip is well organized and Cherry made an effort introducing about the village and history of holland during the journey, which is much appreciated
We paid for a full day tour to go to Geithoorn we also paid extra for a small group We confirmed the week before we are going on the full tour and two people will attend Only hours before the tour the operator called us and cancelled the trip. Instead she put us on a much larger bus with more people and we only spent half a day in Geithoorn not a full day. She took us to the windmills for half a day instead even though we told her we already went to the windmills the day before she did not care. We have just arrived in our country after travelling Europe for two months no other operator in Europe treated us like this. It is the only this company that treated us terribly so she could make maximum profit. Rather than apologizing for the terrible was she treated us as our tour was ruined and rushed and we had to go to the windmills twice in two days in a row. Rather than apologizing she writes false stories to cover what se did Terrible tour operator
My husband and I paid a lot of money to go to Geithoorn for the day. A few hours before the tour the guide called us to say she will change the itinerary and take us half day to Giethoorn and half day in Zaanse Schans. I told her that we already went on a tour to Zaanse Schans the day before but she did not care. Our trip was ruined as our time in Geithoorn was rushed. Its pretty shady to call customers a few hours before and change the itinerary completely and even though I complained she did not care. We paid a lot of money and travelled from Australia many hours to get to Amsterdam to do this tour and this tour operator ruined our experience no other tour operator in Europe did this only this tour operator we are very upset about how we were treated
Veronica was amazing. We had a great experience. We had a Spanish tour to Giethoorn and Zaanse Schans . She explained every detail. She is knowledgable and was wonderful to spend the day with her. My son said while in Giethoorn “this is definition of paradise”, worth every penny.
Beautiful town and so neat to see such a small Venice like canals but so clean . Nice way to spend a day there. History from the guide Veronica was excellent. Only Wish she slow down a bit to let us absorb the beauty in Giethoorne.
Stunning view, like you walked into a fairy tale village. Really enjoy the small boat experience. Cherry, our tour guide was so friendly and nice, her detail guidance made the trip more interesting. Amazing journey, highly recommended.
This trip is unbelievable, the scenery is beautiful, our guide is perfect! If I have spare time in future,I will sign up for this trip again!
Cherry was an excellent guide! Very attentive to our needs, time conscious and gave great information along the way! I would highly recommend her tour!
The trip was well worth it. The guide was knowledgeable and seemed to enjoy her job. The only down sides were the visit to Schaanse and the boat trip. It seemed as we went to Schaanse only to be allowed to shop and didn't have time to visit the windmills. The boat trip would have been much better if the tourists didn't have to drive the boats. They were hard to steer. But, all in all, enjoyed Giethoorn very much.
The trip was nice to see the beautiful town. The tour guide/driver was excellenced in showing us the place. However the pick-up process at the beginning of trip need to be improved. Since there were many operators did the same tours going to the same destination at about same time. All tours people were confused and did not know who would pick them up. You should assign a number or something, then the tourguide/driver shows the number on big sign, then it would be easier for both parties.
Loved the town of Giethoorn itself but I feel there were too many people for one guide to handle effectively. Finding the guide at the meeting point was a problem as there were two large groups for AMA waterways at the hotel. Extremely chaotic and instructions on where exactly she would be located could have been clearer. She walked very fast and other members of the group were much slower. Surprised that we had to drive our own boat as well.
This is a secret paradise. An amazing place coming from a fairytale. Venice in the Netherlands. The best place we have visited during our stay in the Netherlands. Cannot Be missed.
It was a private tour that took 2 of us to the small town. With a Chinese speaking guide for my mom. The tour guide was very professional and attentive all the way and we had a wonderful time.
Geithorn was beautiful but the tour was disorganized.. The night before the tour, I received a message saying that my tour was cancelled, and I could be added to this alternate itinerary. It wasn’t my first choice, but I accepted and was looking forward to the tour. The driver arrived 10-15 minutes late, and it was her first day on the job. The passenger van had a strong odor, so our guide began the tour by spraying perfume around the van. It was the driver’s first day, so I can understand her confusion on the directions, but our tour guide was also confused and provided us with awkward narration and story telling during the long drive. The tour lasted 9 hours, but lunch is not included. The tour ended with a last minute change to the drop off point to avoid traffic. The driver and guide were very nice people, but I suggest trying a different company.
Absolutely loved it. Big cheers to our guide Veronica. If you’re in Amsterdam definitely do this. It’ll be WORTHHH it.
The trip exceeded our expectations, it felt like being with family on the road. Starting with Cherry (Our tour guid and owner), she was so kind and caring, making sure that all of us were around and we are experiencing the attraction's fully. Morgan (Our driver and tour guid), was very nice and knowledgeable.. Overall, a great experience..
We had a lovely day with our very friendly tour guide Avu. Avu's knowledge and enthusiasm made the tour so enjoyable and memorable. Thank you for being such a great guide Avu 👏👏 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is a unique experience and a must! This tour group is small, only 7 of us in a van, which feels private. Veronica is an excellent tour guide, gave us a lot of history and what’s going on in these places. Gieethorn is even better in person, we were all in one boat floating through scenic canals. Very timely excursion and not rushed.
Texel is definitely one to visit. Cherry is a great guide and gives you enough time to also explore solo.
We arrived in town before any tourists got there, so we had a great boat ride before other boats jammed up the water way. We had a good lunch with little wait because all tourists were just getting there. Everything was well planned and explained as we went on the trip. Definitely go with this tour, you won’t be disappointed!
Veronica was a fabulous guide. She gave us many facts and made the trip really interesting. G-horn was beautiful and reminded me of the Cottswalls in England.
Veronica is a fountain of knowledge. Learned so much on this trip! Advice would be to try to avoid weekends as it is a busy destination. Lovely, unique and worth it - but busy!
Giethoorn was absolutely beautiful! Well worth the trip to see this very quaint and picturesque village. The drive is a bit long, but well worth it. Cherry was incredibly accommodating and informative. I’d highly recommend this trip!
A very beautiful place to visit as a day trip from Amsterdam. Even if the weather wasn't that great, we really have enjoyed the canal boat trip very much. The little rain didn't bother us. The beautiful houses, restaurants, shops and the very peaceful atmosphere made you feel awesome.
Great job by our tour guide Usman ! Ge was patient, explained the history, was very knowledgeable and ever helpful! Thanks Cherry tours and travels
The flowers were in full bloom and added so much to beauty of Giethoorn. Our driver was very friendly and easy to understand.
This was a great trip and Cherry from Cherry tours was great. The town Giethoorn was beautifull and the boattrip was great
The place was beautiful and the trip was nice with enough time to relax and enjoy the amazing setting
Boat ride was unforgettable, guide was intelligent and funny. Got a chance to drive the boat for a bit which was really nice. Had 2 hours of free time, which for me was perfect. Can highly recommend this for anyone looking to get a nice relaxing day from Amsterdam
I liked the day with tourist guide Cherry. She’s is kind and considerate. And Giethoorn is amazing!!
A charming town with canals. It was such a nice drive out of Amsterdam to see the surrounding countryside and farms. Lots of vegetables were grown at these farms. On our way to Giethoorn we stopped at a place where we saw how wooden clogs were made. Next to that shop was a cheese shop with lots of samples to try. There was also a chocolate shop but it was so busy we bypassed it. Giethoorn was a lovely surprise. We enjoyed the boat tour and our guide, Eldos, gave us lots of information and also provided us pictures of the area during winter.
I like the trip because Geithoorn is so unique, but I think the experience can be improved if the guides/drivers were on time and better organized. There was a last minute change for me. Viator inform me that I would be traveling to Zaan first. I did not book the trip to Zaan. We spent too much time in Zaan and not enough time in Geithoorn. We had not choice of the restaurants for lunch. I would recommend to bring the group to Geithoorn and let everybody to decide where to eat on their own One more things, the guide was not aware that the toilet at Geithoorn restaurant cost 50 cents. Anyway, it was a very good trip.
The small group and the boat trip through Giethoorn was fantastic. In addition, our tour guide, Morgan, was the best!!!!! He was informative, helpful and a pleasure to spend the day with. We could not have wished for a better guide.
Giethoorn was amazing! A little difficult to understand the guide with his accent. He was kind enough to make a short stop to see a tulip field. I wish our stop for lunch had been in the village of Giethoorn. Appreciated all the free time we had to explore the village by ourselves.
It was a good tour. I wished we can spend more time at geithoorn . We arrived geithoorn around 1:20 pm - one hour boat cruise one hour lunch and less hour of walking-
The day was great, Cherry was a great hostess. Meeting place was easy to find. Giethoorn is a lovely town and we enjoyed the boat ride and the walk after lunch. Lunch took a while however.
Loved Giethoorn, as we expected. I'd seen photos on Pinterest and knew I had to visit. Cherry went out of her way to make the day informative and enjoyable, even providing a private ride for us back to the hotel. She was terrific! We'll have to come back during the summer, not that I didn't enjoy the sleet that befell me as soon as I entered the small open boat. :-)
Cherry was a great tour guide. She was informative, knowledgeable. snd caring. She and her assistant very very helpful with my disabled husband.
Tour guide did a great job and he is also well versed in English and have stayed in Malaysia a few years which created a better bonding with us who are also from Malaysia.
