Loved Zaanse Schans, especially the frèe time, because we could look in the windmills. A little more free time there would have been nice. Geithoorn was pretty and the canel cruise was fun, however too much free time was given here as very little was open. Jay was a great guide.

This was a very enjoyable day, in spite of uncooperative weather. Zaanse Schans very touristy, as expected, but the windmills are a must see. Giethoorn was beautiful, with opportunity to walk the village in addition to canal ride. Our driver Rashed from Dutch Tours was delightful and informative. Highly recommend.
Giethoorn is a village straight out of a dream! Our guide was witty, funny, and extremely knowledgeable, making the entire experience both entertaining and informative. We were also given plenty of time to explore on our own, which was a lovely touch. Giethoorn truly lives up to its reputation as one of the most beautiful villages in the world, with its charming canals, picturesque cottages, and fairytale-like atmosphere. Zaanse Schans, the iconic windmill village near Amsterdam, is equally captivating, with its traditional Dutch windmills and timeless charm. Both places are absolutely beautiful and well worth visiting. Overall, a wonderful experience. Highly recommended!

This tour is 100% amazing and for value of the price .. the hotel pick up was great and convenient.. long day but it’s broken up perfectly.. visiting the Zaanse village was absolutely stunning and the drive the Gierthoorn was interesting and visiting the village was stunning .. our guide and driver Rachid (heart you) is incredible our van 5 guests in shock we all had great conversations the entitled day and we became a family during our tour. We met up with Jay with other guests and he was amazing as well .. Rachid I thank you ..
Quite a long time driving but visiting these beautiful villages was worth it. Our guide Rashid was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He was also funny and made the drive seem short

A pleasant small group, the guides were very friendly, with much local knowledge. We were not rushed to meet strict time tables, with plenty of time at each location to feel relaxed.

What an amazing daytrip to see the countryside . It was beautiful , the day was planned so perfectly with what we saw and time to eat and relax on our own. Our guide Jay was so amazing and funny and gave us lots of history of Amsterdam in an entertaining way. It was a great day I highly recommend it .
The two stops on this tour were the best experiences we had in Amsterdam. A must experience. Because they are out of town, you need transportation to the countryside. We rode in a family van to the sites.

So the tour overall was great but it started out very, very bad. We arrive at the meeting point to check in and are told we are going in small vans that are full. Several folks in the party had (including myself) that prevented sitting in certain seats. One of the other individuals voiced concern over the transportation options, but as a group we soon figured it out. Upon enter the van our tour guide (Rashid…I think I spelled that right) began to go over cursing and yelling at the person who expressed concern. That person tried very diligently to get him to calm down but he just kept going. At one one point he even stopped in the middle of a city street, and told the folks to get out. It wasn’t until the rest of us chimed in that he finally calmed down (I use that term loosely). For the first 30-45 minutes of the ride it was extremely awkward. Myself and one other person worked to help break the silence and after the first stop things seems to become somewhat normal. It was still a very, very crowded ride in the van so keep that in mind should you choose this tour. I’ve been on these types of tours all over the world and NEVER have I experienced a tour guide that was having such a bad day that he totally lost his shiz. But overall the tour itself is good and really fun. I only gave it 3 stars because the transportation option is not fully explained and can be a bit of a hinderance to individuals with a disability.
Fabulous day from start to finish! Really enjoyed all the different aspects of this trip. Our guide even dropped us all off at our individual hotels so we didn’t have to deal with the rain. Highly recommend!

Jay (J?), Ahmed and Rashid were all great! Jay especially was our main guide and was hilarious. Very knowledgeable but brought good vibes the whole day, making the tour more enjoyable. You also get a decent amount of free time to explore each place on your own whilst still being on the tour which was great for us. Would highly recommend this experience if wanting to visit Zaanse Schans & Giethoorn which are very scenic places.
Guide hade a great knowledge of the locations and was very engaged with all the tourists. It was a little long. It can be a free hours short trip.

Great way to spend a day and get out to see more of the Netherlands. While Zaandam was very crowded with tour busses after we finished our tour, it was nice that we were one of the first busses there to see the village while it was still pretty quiet. Giethoorn was nice, but seemed overrun by tourists. Glad we had some free time to explore it some. Ibrahim was a fantastic guide and Kamal (?) was a skilled driver. Great day!
The tour guide was wonderful very funny amusing very communicative. Told us some really great information while we were in the bus and when we got to our destinations was very straightforward on meeting places and meeting times and how to get back and what to do while we were there . I drop off. He was also very very helpful when our Uber couldn’t find our location he got on the phone with the person helped him find us so we could get back to our hotel. He was truly wonderful. It was a wonderful trip! Our guide ibraraha and driver daniel are very friendly, humorous, and patient to every tourist and explained a lot of histories/stories about the two villages that we visited as well as some other villages along the way. We learned some of the histories of Netherland as well as amsterdam.
The stops were great but Anwar was our driver who was also great....Jay our tour guide was the most knowledgeable and informative and fun tour guide we have ever experienced

This is a must do. Shout out to our tour guide Jay and our driver Hassan, they were remarkable. They went out of their way to ensure we all had a good time. We even made a stop at a local fruit market to try some fresh berries and apples. Truly this tour was a highlight of my trip

Lovely half day trip. 20min train ride from Amsterdam Central. Recommend getting there earlier in the AM as it does get busy the closer to 12:00 it gets. We opted to not buy tickets to go into the windmills and other museums or little houses and that was fine. Incredibly scenic and quaint. Lovely lunch spots close by. Good half day trip.
This was a really nice tour. We had Ibrahim as our tour guide. He was friendly and informative. The tour takes you to Zaanse Schans before the other tour buses come in, so you get a nice unobstructed view of everything before it gets busy. Giethoorn was quaint and peaceful. We went in mid-April, which was just in time for tulip season. I was recommended this tour by a friend, and I would recommend it to others too!

Today was fantastic. The day was well planned and we saw many beautiful sights. This was my favorite Viator tour so far. Our guide, Jay anticipated our needs, shared great information, and had an excellent sense of humor.
The pictures/memories are well worth the bus ride. Yes, the trip is long but you are riding on a nice bus with air conditioning. The countryside is beautiful along the way. Take a nap on the way back to Amsterdam and get recharged for your evening. The tour guide was excellent. He made the trip fun. This particular trip got us to both places early so we had time before the throngs of other tourists arrived. Check the weather and dress appropriately. Our trip was sunny and hot but the guide says most days it does rain some.

I had a really nice experience on this tour. Our guide, Ibrahim, was excellent, friendly, and made the trip enjoyable. The bus driver was also great and professional throughout the day. The stops were beautiful, especially Zaanse Schans, where we saw the windmills and learned about cheese making and traditional Dutch wooden shoes. Volendam and Giethoorn were also lovely and worth visiting. There was a small funny moment when I was accidentally left behind at the first village, but the team came back for me quickly and handled it well, so it became part of the memory rather than a problem. Overall, it was a great trip, well organized, and I would recommend it to other travel
