We booked this combo ticket on the advice of a family member. We had a little issue finding the ticket office to schedule our Canal cruise, but the Heineken Experience part of the ticket was very easy. We quite enjoyed the self-guided tour through the Heineken Experience. The information was fascinating. The 1-hr canal cruise was a little less enjoyable. Our cruise was full and it was difficult to see the various sites with so many folks in the boat. We also had a harder time following the narration. It was off just slightly from our actual location. (And despite kind requests from the captain, many families talked through the entire cruise. That made it hard to hear the narration and was rather distracting.) The issues I had with the cruise were just related to the specific tourists on our boat. I don't know if another cruise would have had the same issue, so I would still recommend this activity.

The history of the Heineken brewing process well captured and the interactive activities in this once upon a time active brewery and relationships with soccer is appreciated
Heineken is a must in Amsterdam, really!! We had so much fun. People were lovely and the beer is fantastic. The boat is great too, but we went in July and it was HOT! So don’t forget your hat and your water.
We went with my nephew and his future wife and we had a pleasant boat trip through the canals. The absolute highlight was the guide Roger, who was very enthusiastically talking and informative over the history of the Amsterdam canals. He mixed fun facts with serious information and actively asked for questions. He was funny and engaged and with the crowded canals we were lucky to have a good captain Eelco on board. When it began to rain we had umbrellas on board, the views on the city were amazing.
Better left to young folks uf that! Thought I would see actual brewery☹️ and we booked a combo ticket for a canal cruise afterwards but the could not accomodate us
The canal cruise was well worth the add on, and was one of our highlights of Amsterdam. Our guide Jesse was very knowledgable and helpful. He made it a really enjoyable experience. There was also a couple of drinks included (with several choices available). If you are doing the Heineken experience then this add on is a must. Absolute bargain.
Very educational and enjoyable even for a non-beer lover! Learned a lot about the history of the family and the brewing industry.
Great experience, we especially appreciated the staff’s availability and kindness. Thank you Rodrigo for showing us part of the brewing process with passion and clarity. The boat trip was also fabulous thanks to the professionality and cordiality of Jessica and the captain. We recommend however not to choose the last slot of the day for the tour, as you end up being a little rushed and you can’t fully enjoy the interactive part of the Heineken experience.
The Heineken experience was fun & I really enjoyed it. Was able to purchase tickets to the roof top & was glad I did , very cool place ! The canal tour was ok, I would have preferred a tour guide as opposed to a recording
The tour was a combo tour. The Heineken experience and a 1 hour canal cruise. The Heineken tour was first, followed by a canal tour with Lovers Canal Cruises. We were expected to catch the canal cruise at a location that was over a 30 minute walk from the Heineken Experience. NOT CONVENIENT AT ALL!!! There were several other cruises offered directly outside the Heineken entrance. Why wouldb’t Viator have selected one of those companies instead????
This combo tour is not worth the cost. Yes..Amsterdam is where Heineken was founded..but this ‘experience’ museum BS is waste of time! The can do so much more with the technology that is offered today to make this a memorable experience vs. time filling with lackluster information about the actual history of Heineken. The canal boat tour of 60 minutes is totally a separate experience and that made up for the Heineken tour that you can skip if you are not a Heineken fan.
The experience is worth it, interesting and lots of tech interactions! It’s entertaining as well as educational.
Hi, unfortunately I booked these for the WRONG date so never got to do this. Are they able to be transferred to Sunday 19 October at the same time?
The Heineken experience was very fun! The 3 star rating relates to the Love boat trip thru the canals and the incorrect meeting place provided in the ticket link. The link boat group departs from several locations. The ticket provided a link which was a 30 minute walk from Heineken; the revised location was actually quick 5 minute walk. Please be aware that the combined ticket doesn’t specifically instruct you to take the Heineken tour first and it doesn’t provide the second boat location. We received the revised instruction by going to the boat tour office and rebooking.
This is an easy way to purchase combo tickets to see the most popular sights in Amsterdam. I recommend using to save time and money.
The Heineken experience is a must but your better do it on your own and the canal cruise was nowhere near each other and they put in a cramp ferry. Your best bet is to book separate so you know what your getting
We arrived at Heineken and I couldn't access my tickets from viator to enter to the trip. Despite the staff from Heineken Flavia to mention a few, they also couldn't retrieve the tickets on my app or email nor had they any reference of the number viator provided. Flavia looked after us and the trip was brilliant. We sadly couldn't do the canal part of the trip as it was leaving from near central station, the other side of city and most likely face the same issues we had when entering Heineken experience
They are in different locations. The online information should give you more information. We enjoy both.
Tour was really good but the booking confirmation was misleading said to meet at a meeting point. We walked 40 mins to get to it to be told to go straight to tour instead! Which then made us slightly late. The tour was good and the boat ride was good value for money.
From the outset, staff couldn’t be friendlier. Fun facts and nuggets of information that turned into a quick quiz where you won a token for each correct answer! We won two!! Interacted with other tourists, all a wonderful experience. We took the cruise on the canal with Flagship and our navigators were Joe and Tim. Again, friendly and professional young people that have a passion for their country. The views were beautiful and the “crocked houses!” 👏
The experience was informative, fun and great. However, the canal cruise was a big disappointment as ASSUMED it was on a boat right across the street. Instead we had to rush walk for over 30 minutes to get it to meet another reservation back by the experience. Never thought to validate where the cruise started.
The Heineken experience take place right across from a canal tour company but that is not the Canal Cruise that comes with this tour. We had a very interesting, well presented and fun Heineken experience, especially appreciating the keep sake bike tour video we were able to make. However, we then had to take the metro to Amsterdam central to find an address to pick up our canal cruise tickets and then find where the cruise boats were moored. This really put a damper on the tour.
Too crowded ! . The ride they advertised was not really a ride. The beer and bar was good though . The gift shop had lots of options.
It was underwhelming. The canal cruise is nowhere near the Heineken Experience. Difficult for an out of tower to figure out where to catch the cruise
The he Heineken experience was great!! I do not recommend the combo with the Lover’s Canal boat tour. Also, the communication with our tour operator leading up to the tour was unhelpful.
Do not book this tour if the canal is with Tours & Tickets. Very disappointed with Viator dealing with this activity provider. The Heineken Experience was excellent but never got to take canal cruise. 1st -the canal company is not the one directly across the street from Heineken but 15 minutes walk down the road. But when we got there apparently you had to buy your ticket at another location which was a 30 minute tram ride away. Then once you got your ticket you had to come back 30 minutes tram ride to get the canal cruise. When you’re only in for day from the cruise ship this is unacceptable. FYI- if you want to do canal tour make sure it reads BlueBirds canal tours. This company is directly across the street from Heineken.
Perfect for the beer lover in you. The Heineken visit comes with beer and a great guide tour. The included cruise is a plus.
Do not book through Viator. I repeat- DO NOT BOOK THROUGH VIATOR. Go to the Heineken tour - it's so worth it and very interesting and fun to enjoy. The staff are super lovely and friendly and make it a great experience. Book Through Reliable services for the tour tickets & a seperate boat tour... because the canal tour included in this particular ticket.. is not with Heineken. Completely different company For Canal Cruise. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. WE NEVER GOT THE CRUISE. INFORMATION ABOUT THE CRUISE IS VERY UNCLEAR. DO NOT RECOMMEND USING VIATOR.
Really enjoyed the Heineken Experience. Finding the canal tour was HARD! Not anywhere close to the Heineken experience. Had a horrible time finding. It. Directions were not good, actually had 2 address listed. Wondered around the central station for over 45 minutes until we finally found the correct canal line. Was very frustrated and did not enjoy the canal ride
The highlight of this tour is obviously the free beers. The tour itself does not really show the brewing process, but there are some static demonstrations that attempt to show the steps in brewing beer. Something to also note is that the canal boat excursion requires you to travel to a site approximately 10 minutes away from the Heineken experience.
The Heineken Experience was amazing! Learned a lot of the process with interactive components, an audio guide and even a “ride”. Then to conclude in a bar like setting to have beer and pour your own. Definitely would go back again. Unfortunately, the communication was unclear regarding the cruise and we never got to go it. The information gave the impression that the cruise was right across from the experience but we were informed in a rude matter that we should have read the small print and that we had to go to the other side of town to get tickets for the cruise; which was a serious inconvenience and I have requested a refund to that portion of the ticket. Still waiting on the refund.
Well spaced out and very informative. Not too overcrowded. Staff did a really good job. Great shop at the end to buy glasses etc and not too expensive
The Heineken experience was great but the canal cruise and brewery are not really connected... they are two separate events. Take the canal cruise and then enjoy the long walk to the brewery. :(
The Roof top views are amazing. The older man in the green suit, was very welcoming. The bar vibe was good. You got a total of 3 beers
Wonderful ! I was staying near the center of town. When I scheduled my boat tour the day before I bought a 2 day metro and tram pass from the same place. Caught the Metro and went one stop to the Heineken experience. So easy
The Heineken experience was awesome. As for the canal trip, the office to get the tickets was not in walking distance and we had to get a taxi which cost a lot. I wish we knew this before as we would not have booked!
We attended the Heineken experience first, and we had a great time. The tour was fascinating and full of information about the brewing of the beer. The guides and staff were very friendly and informative and were willing to answer any questions and there was plenty to see and do. The tour is not completely guided but there is staff all around the experience to help with information. We then went on the canal cruise which was also very informative, with loads of information along the trip around the different parts of Amsterdam and we really enjoyed the whole cruise. I have read the other reviews and I would suggest that you make sure you read the website and the ticket instructions before attending the Heineken experience and the canal tour. The Heineken experience is not skip the line and is self guided. You have to go to the ticket office stated on the website before going on the canal tour and book a time that’s suitable and you will receive physical tickets to show at the boat. We booked a boat time then went to the Heineken experience and then gave ourselves time to get back to the boat dock. The Heineken experience is a fair way from the boat dock and it would advisable to take a tram between them. We would definitely use again if going back to Amsterdam.
The tour was fun, the ladies onboard were great, fun, and accommodating. The captain was the rudest person in the hospitality business I have experienced in my life. Forced my wife off the boat while I was in the toilet. when I questioned his actions he pushed a mop in my face. He was rude and intolerable and turned a great experience sour. I feel very sorry for the lovely ladies working with him to have to tolerate his extreme hatred of everything all day long. The captain was extremely rude to use boarding the boat and far worst at the end. Without swearing he practically told us to get the F$@^ off his boat. He completely ruined what should have been a great experience. Shame on Heineken for hiring such a "brutus" to tour their boats.
What a waste of money. The canal tour was nice and the guide was lovely. I wish they weren’t blasting heat the entire time as I was melting my face off, but whatever. The Heineken Experience itself was the dumbest thing ever. My husband and I are beer enthusiasts and have been on tons of brewery tours. This was so lame and provided limited information. It was just a bunch of lame lights and sounds that had nothing to do with making beer. It was so ridiculous. Avoid this at all costs. The Guinness Tour in Dublin is where you need to go.
The experience is amazing, we took so many photos , I loved the Heineken Experience video that they made at the end of the tour when riding the bicycle
Good tour with great canal tour. Bit of confusion at the end of the tour on getting drinks but most staff very helpful and friendly. Look out for the dwarf!!!
What a great tour of the original factory and how they make this iconic beer. Great interaction from staff and amazing production and personnel interaction with so many exhibitions makes this an amazing experience and to end in a night club environment with a few free drinks and amazing staff was worth every cent. A must visit in Amsterdam and in fact the best we have done anywhere.
It was a great tour but buyer beware the boat tour is at a completely different location and you have to go to an office and then find the boat.
I didn’t experience the canal cruise, the pick up point which was given, they were no one there and we went to other place as well which was closed and we waited for 2 hrs, and I really had a bad experience with the lovers cruise and I didn’t had the opportunity to experience the canal ride
We recently went on the Heineken Experience Amsterdam and 1-Hour Canal Cruise tour (afternoon time slot). There were a few meeting points listed, and we chose the Lovers Boat Tour location since it was closest to our hostel. Upon arrival, the gentleman behind the counter advised us to start with the Heineken tour. This caused some initial confusion as it wasn't clear that we needed to arrange our own transportation between the two locations. We opted for public transit since it was close to the canal cruise departure point, but it did add a bit of anxiety to our plans. Despite this, the Heineken Experience itself was fantastic! It was unlike any other brewery tour I've ever been on. The tour is immersive and engaging, taking about 20 minutes to reach from the canal area near the train station. The canal cruise, on the other hand, was just okay. The views were lovely, but the experience felt impersonal due to the pre-recorded audio commentary. A live guide would have added a more personal touch. Overall, while there were some logistical challenges, the Heineken Experience made the tour worthwhile.
Buyer beware! The Heineken tour and the canal cruise are separate events and over 1.5 miles from each other!!! So when you pick up your tickets at the Lovers Canal Cruise location, you have to walk over 3 miles round trip just to get back to the canal cruise to start that tour!!! It's a mess just buy tickets directly from each and save yourself the hassle. Or book with a canal tour company like the blue line that offers a direct cruise to and from the Heineken experience.
Poor description of tour. Boat tour was 38 minutes from Heineken factory. The factory told us boat was across the street which was incorrect. It was pouring rain and we could not get to the boat tour. We did not do the boat tour and I applied for a refund and it was denied. Do NOT use this company. You can get tickets directly at factory.
Heineken experience was ok. Wished had done more per brewing process. Enjoyed canal but cruise so far from Heineken experience
Waste of time, just flashing light and loud noise, sorry i went, its nothing compared to the Hopstore experience at Guinness in Dublin
The actual Heineken Experience was good, very friendly staff and informative. The canal cruise wasn't running as they stop it in the winter months.
