Great experience! Simon did a fantastic job giving our group a true Holland experience. It was amazing how quickly we transitioned from the city to the beautiful countryside. Would highly recommend.

This was such a great day for us. We were a large group of 14 and our guide Christen was fabulous. He looked after us very well. The scenery was so beautiful, it was so nice to see the country side !! All the stops were great and the bikes were top notch. The ride was made quite easy with the bikes. We would highly recommend this tour, it was a highlight of our time in Amsterdam!! Thanks Christen !!
Loved the countryside e-bike tour! Mark was an absolute amazing guide. The countryside was beautiful and learning about the water issues, boggy land, and the dams was fascinating. The boat transfers were a breeze. The cheese and clog stop was cheesy yet gave us a lifetime memory.
My family and I had an excellent experience all around. I would definitely recommend it.
Wonderful day exploring quaint towns and beautiful scenery. Our guide, Anne, was kind, knowledgeable and made our whole excursion feel easy. The e-bikes worked very well - helmets were also available. Would highly recommend!
Great day out The Netherlands constantly changing weather made it more interesting Just needed a coffee stop
Christian was great. The bike ride through the countryside was awesome. Total 5 star and would recommend this for families.
An excellent tour with our wonderful guide, Hugh! Beautiful landscapes, fairytale villages and the Clog & Cheese shop was interesting and entertaining. Highly recommend this 4 hour e-bike tour - well worth the price and genuinely the highlight of our visit to Amsterdam!
Gus and Christopher are amazing. They have so much knowledge, are experienced riders and have a great sense of humor. Great way to see the country side!
This was really nice, and of course the weather didn't make it worse, sun an 23°C. Annie was so good, charming and knowledgeable we liked her a lot. We really recommend this.
This was a great experience to see the countryside in a short span of time and get some exercise too! Our guide was very knowledgeable and took great care in making sure our group stayed together safely. She answered a lot of our questions and was able to provide the perspective of a local. Very enjoyable!
The countryside tour was great. Gus was a fabulous guide and so nice. The cheese and clogs demonstration was hilarious, I loved it. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to bike and see more than Amsterdam.
Beautiful bike ride through the countryside on e bikes. Friendly guide. Cheese tasting included at stop at the dairy.
What a fun and beautiful bike ride through the Waterland countryside. Christian was a delightful and informative guide. The duration and intensity was perfect. Snacks and photo opps ample. And the stop at the cheese and clog factory was short and fun!
Amazing bike ride through the countryside, complete with cheese and clogs. Christian was a great guide
Gus was a fantastic guide for this countryside bike tour. He did a great job, loved him. The cheese/clog factory was a highlight!
Christian was s fantastic tour guide! He was energetic, fun and attentive. We are so glad we did this despite the unfavourable weather. Would highly recommend!
it was a great way to get out of the city and see some of the countryside. It was neat to see some of the small towns and know what they were all about. We enjoyed tasting the cheese and seeing how clogs were made.
We had a great time on this tour! The description is accurate and it exceeded our expectations. Our guide Rafa was fantastic. Super friendly and knowledgeable. I know the guide can make or break a tour like this so Rafa gets 5 stars! The e-bikes were very nice and in good working order. Of you are looking to explore the Dutch countryside this tour is for you.
Rissa was an excellent tour guide. She made sure we all knew where we were going, got to comfortably ride the bikes, and had a great depth of knowledge about Amsterdam and surrounding areas. The sites were breathtaking, the cheese and clogs stop was more than I was expecting, and despite the rain, the windmill was worth the wait. This tour is a pleasant surprise out side the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. Highly recommend!!
Tours content was excellent and driver stephi and guide Diana were fantastic in booking confirmation 'tours and tickets' should put that there office is INSIDE central train station. Foreigners who do you tours have no idea what an address means. Over share info to make it less stressful for foreign tourists
Wonderful way to see countryside, our guide Hu was AWESOME, gave plenty of info but didn’t over saturate us. Bikes were great, e-assist, that said you should be comfortable on a bike and in decent shape to keep up. Bring layers, can get windy, pop up rain showers too. Fun to see clog & cheese shop.
Sebastian was a terrific guide. There is so much beauty in the countryside and e-bike was the way to see it!!
Had a lovely tour with Shakira as our guide. E-bike was comfortable and easy to use. Had beautiful weather and the pace was great, nothing too rushed.
This tour was great! NOTE: Be early! We almost missed the tour because we arrived at the start time. Did not know we were supposed to arrive 15 - 20 minutes early. The tour was a mix of couples, small group friends, singles and parents with college-age children. We were able to see much more countryside than I expected. We rode through the country and went through small quaint towns along the way. We did stop at a cheese/wooden shoe touristy spot. It was a bit "cheesy" (pun intended) but had to do it. Can't go to Amsterdam without getting Gouda and seeing wooden shoes. Mike, our tour guide, was filled with interesting historic facts and anecdotes. He took photos along the way which he provided to everyone at the conclusion of the tour. Everyone enjoyed it! Highly recommend this tour!
Fabulous countryside, experienced Tour guide, bikes were so smooth and comfortable. Paths and stops were fantastic.
David B. was our guide and he did a fantastic job. It was our 4th day in Amsterdam and we had been using pedal bikes the whole time in the busy city, so it was nice to switch to eBikes and get far out into the country. The ride was peaceful, beautiful and just such an amazing experience to see the canals and houses outside the city. The stops were just far enough apart for a rest and a bit of knowledge/history. The Cheese and Clogs stop was the highlight, but there were a couple stops in some small towns that were just the icing on top of the overall amazing experience. Would 100% recommend.
Great ride with beautiful scenery. Our guide was great. Cheese and clogs was not to be missed. Bikes worked great and saved a lot of peddling on this long tour.
Awesome trip! Zuw was a great tour guide. Highly recommend this experience when visiting the area!!!
Approximately a four hour tour, mostly spent on bike riding, with stops at a few points of interest. Mike, the tour guide, was outstanding and made sure everyone was taken care of. The clogs and cheese stop was fun and entertaining. Waited scenery. Highly recommended.
This was a fantastic tour! It was our favorite excursion on our trip. Our guide, Rinse, was great and knowledgeable! He took great care of us. We saw beautiful sights, the bikes were easy to ride, and the terrain wasn’t too difficult. I’d highly recommend this tour.
We had the best time! David was the best tour guide. Super knowledgeable and fun. And he was so patient when we took forever getting ice cream. I highly recommend this tour. 10/10
Mike was a great tour guide. The countryside was lovely and the weather was gorgeous. The cheese tasting was good and clog maker informative.
The views exceeded my expectations, the bikes were great and our tour guide, Stefan was kind, efficient and made it a very enjoyable experience. One of the highlights of our trip.
This was the best activity in three weeks in Europe. The scenery was amazing and so glad to quickly get away from the crowds in town in Amsterdam. The e-bikes were in great shape and we were given helmets which we wanted as used to using at home. Our guide, Simon, was from Britain but had lived in Amsterdam for 20 years and was informed and fun and had a great sense of humor. He even took pics along the way and shared with us. Loved all the stops and cheese tasting was fun too. Super windy that day but the e-bikes made it easy. Cannot recommend Simon and this trip more.
Simon was our tour guide and he was fantastic. You take a short ride from the departure point, take a pedestrian and bike ferrry, and then, after 5 minutes, you are into the beautiful countryside. The bike really makes this as easy or challenging as you would like, with Simon making suggestions along the way and stopping at numerous sites to give you some interesting history and facts about Amsterdam and the Netherlands. The cheese tasting was great - I liked all of them (it's cheese, c'mon) and the brothers that run the cheese and clog shop were hilarious and fantastic. We got some "traditional Netherlands weather" with rain coming and going in 10 minute spurts, but I didn't mind. They provide ponchos if you would like, but recommend just coming prepared and looking at the forecast ahead of time. We ran a little long so don't plan something RIGHT after, but that's generally a good idea for anything. Highly recommend participating in this activity, as it's a way for you to see part of Amsterdam similar to locals (though they generally look down on helmets, electric bikes, and road rules :P).
Good tour but they suggested one of our team not go. Still was ok but rude about a refund for one person - said it was not possible because it was booked as a group. Very unusual and unprofessional. So, it’s fine if things go well, but if there are problems the business is poorly run. I’ve reported to the authorities
Good intro to using an e-bike, rules of the road, and explanations about where we were biking for the day. Simon was an excellent guide, and we had a “trainee” named Ellie, with us too! Ellie brought up the rear of the group. The countryside was gorgeous! Thank you people of Amsterdam for building bike paths!!
Clear instructions to meeting place. Great ride and excellent guide. This my review and I have said all I have to say so don’t tell me I have to write more.
Wonderful bike tour of the Dutch countryside. Gus our bike tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. It was a easy ride with e-bikes. Would definitely recommend this tour
Christian the tour host was superb. Helpful, informative and supportive to those of us never having riden an e bike before. A great cycle getting out of the central area of Amsterdam to experience the countryside with a few stops on route to take in the local culture and sights.
My husband and I had a wonderful time on this tour! The forecast was sunny with a high of 60, I had layers on but no hat or gloves and regretted it within the first five minutes. Dress warmer than you think necessary, it’s windy. . Christian was a great guide, gave us detailed instructions on the route we were taking and warnings about riding etiquette. We had a wonderful day away from the city among the canals and livestock with their young. The e-bikes made the mileage easy. I would hesitate to bring a child younger than 12 if they are not used to city/road riding. A great experience!
Hard to choose one of our top favorite things we did in our few days in Amsterdam and this was on the top! The Bike ride to the countryside was breathtaking and Gus was the best tour guide giving us just the right amount of history and also letting us enjoy the small towns, views, and nature! The stop at the cheese and clog store was amazing! Fun, and delicious! Would recommend over and over!
Great ride thru the countryside with a great guide. Gus provided a volume of information that enhanced our ride. The e-Bikes were perfect even though it rained for most of our day. I highly recommend this experience!! Almost forget, the Cheese & Clogs stop is pretty entertaining as well. Go for it!!
Best bike tour! Guide was friendly, knowledgeable and fun. Bikes were in great condition and so easy to ride even for someone who’d never ridden an electric bike before. The countryside was fabulous and teeming with wildlife - we saw countless herons, a couple of hares, a spoonbill and a kestrel amongst the usual array of swans and waterfowl. The villages we rode through were very picturesque- would totally recommend this tour.
I booked two trips and both were cancelled. Either don’t advertise those dates or state there is a minimum number of people required. Set expectations early. Some people come from very far away and are counting on that booking as the activity that day. Cancelling the day before or even two days before leaves scrambling to find something else.
Great tour, would definitely recommend as you see a different side to Amsterdam. Simon our guide was brilliant very knowledgeable.
Did this tour, and we are so glad we did. Had Rissa as our guide and she did not disappoint. Was very friendly and explained everything. Sadly it was very foggy for the first couple hours, so could not see much. But the second half of the tour we could finally see the country side. One thing, would have loved if there was audio from the guide. Could have explained some things I’m sure as we were riding along. Loved the stop at the Clog and Cheese factory. Would do this again if we had the chance.
My wife and I have been in Amsterdam for 5 days, and doing the Cheese, Canals & Windmill Countryside E-Bike Tour has been our favorite thing that we’ve done. It was amazing how quickly you hit the countryside after starting the bike ride. The ride was peaceful, idyllic, and beautiful. The stop at the cheese shop was very entertaining and a welcome place to buy some cheeses. We never would have found the places we visited had we not gone on this tour. Something worth mentioning is that the bike I was on got a flat tire, and then the replacement tube popped too. Sometimes stuff like this happens. But our tour guide Anne was great. Super professional and she did everything possible to get me back to Amsterdam safe. It’s super unlikely to get a double whammy like this on any tour, but it says a lot about the tour operator when they respond so well to unexpected problems. I’d absolutely go on this tour again, and any other offered by the Joy Ride Tours.
My wife and I really enjoyed the afternoon ride. Gives you a feeling of the daily routine for some locals. Weather was sunny with a bit of a breeze. The E-bikes assist and do there part so no need to strain yourself. Cheese was amazing. Our guide Rinsor shared along the way history and lore. Was a highlight of your trip. Thanks again
