Itinerary
Our bus will leave us in Bargeplein. Here we will have 10 minutes to go to the bathroom. The guide will explain at what time should we be back in the bus.
Our first stop will be Minnewater, also known as the "Lake of love". With the beautiful lake on the background our guide will explain the history of Bruges as well as the love story occurred in this lake.
The next step of our tour will be the Begijnhof. Founded in 1245, this place saves the history of an incredible group of women.
In this beautiful square, our guide will explain us the history of Bruges beer.
Here our guide will teach us how to identify the original medieval houses.
You will have the chance to take some beautiful photos from the little bridge.
In front of Old St. John’s Hospital our guide will explain how the health system in the medieval Bruges worked.
In front of old St. John’s Hospital, we will find the Church of Our Lady. From the outside, our guide will explain us some curiosities of the white marble sculpture of the Madonna and Child created by Michelangelo that is inside the church mentioned before.
In the front of Gruuthuse, we will get to know the most famous and powerful family of Bruges between the XVII and XVIII centuries.
In one of the most charming spots of Bruges, our guide will explain the interesting legend of this bridge. You will also have time to take photos
In the most photographed place of Bruges, our guide will tell us about the history surrounding the "Pier of the roses". You will also have the chance to take some pictures.
Our next step is Tanners square, here we will learn about how tanners worked in the medieval Bruges.
In this square we find the Gothic Town Hall, the Old Court House and the Basilica of the Holy Blood.
The last point of our guided tour is The Market Square or Grote Markt. Here our guide will explain the different buildings around the square and they will also give some tips about where to eat or which are the best shops to buy the traditional chocolate. The guide will also remember you when and where you must be to take the bus back to Brussels.
Free time, you will enjoy about 2 hours of free time (it depends on the traffic and the rhythm of the group).
Here waits our guide and the bus. Time to go back to Amsterdam.

Great way to spend the day while in Amsterdam. Bruges is a beautiful city and highly recommend visiting especially if you happen to be as close as Amsterdam. 5 stars all the way!
The Bruges tour is a must and definitely a highlight for anyone coming to Amsterdam. The town/city is absolutely beautiful with historical buildings, depth of history and waterway canals. Although there were quite of number of tourists there, I somehow felt a spiritual connection. Loved thec special goodies found in Bruges including the Aux Merveilleux (best bread) Bruges chocolates and Bruges style waffles. The highlight of the tour was Blanca who escorted our tour on this long journey. She ensured we were all comfortable, kept us informed of our times and itinerary and provided an exceptional walking tour. She was a gem! The long day is worth your time
Well worth the time - one of the most beautiful places for architecture that I have visited to date! We just did the bus trip then explored on own ,)my friend has been before so she showed us the way) but you can also do a free self-guided tour or take the guided tour for just a bit more money...no matter which option you choose I highly recommend adding this to your list. The architecture is beautiful, you can find some very nice and UNIQUE souvenirs and have an authentic Belgian waffle and hot chocolate (or there are many other eating options if you want something more substantial ☺️
The guide takes you into the city center then the remaining time is on your own. Nice choosing what to do on your own, but the city of Bruges had many tiny roads and alleys making it difficult to find your way back to the bus without a map.
Bruges is a lovely city. We wished for more time to enjoy the sights. We did the beer tasting and bought wonderful chocolate! Jose was a skilled driver getting us to Bruges and back safely. Viktor is a very knowledgeable tour guide and even offered advice for our next days of sightseeing in Amsterdam. He also suggested we visit Den Bosch and it was a fantastic day.
I loved this trip, what a cute little town filled with character! A long day but worth it! I would do this one again!
Excellent tour which was really worthwhile and enjoyable all the way from Amsterdam and back. Bruges is a lovely place and our guide Blanca she was an amazing person showed us everything there as well as guided us to buy articles from the best shops in town which was more then value for money.
Blanca was a lovely tour guide full of knowledge; we enjoyed the walking part of the tour and that we had free time. It is a long trip but we thought it was worth it. Bruges is a charming town!
I was in two minds about the strip, worried that it was just a pretty little town and that was it. but I was very, very wrong. It is a beautiful town with canals and gorgeous gardens. And yes, the centre is quite touristic, but that’s okay. I managed to spend an hour walking through the “ suburbs” and was fascinated and impressed by the beautiful architecture. and sense of peace. It’s also good fun and quite a large city in its own right the tour was long, but that was fine with stops on the way to Bruges and an. express journey home. A real highlight from my visit to Amsterdam and thoroughly recommend this tour
Catherine was good guide good highlights tour of Bruges town was really nice and historic would come back
We had a wonderful day in Bruges Belgium. Our tour Guide Bianca, so knowledgeable. Its beautiful. I would recommend this tour.
Beautiful city with amazing people and culture. Guide was very good we had the audio walking tour & canal boat tour. Definitely try one of the many beers in Brugee.
It is an extremely long day , mostly traveling to and from Bruges. Guide gave very little history other than the perfunctory topics
Maritoni and Gaberial where very friendly. Burgee is a beautiful town kids had a blast the beautiful sites and shop. Plus waffles and chocolate was amazing
Bfuges is a very nice city to visit if you have time. The tour allows you time to visit on your own, as well as a walking tour.
My friend and I joined this tour (the basic part of the tour). This tour that we chose included the transport portion along with a self audio tour to choose what to see on your own in Bruges. We had some places in mind to see on our own once we arrived. There is also a fully guided tour option on the same bus which is great for others. The meeting point for the tour is close to central station. The tour guide Victor was very dyanmic, filled with knowledge and recommendations. The bus is clean and had charging ports. Bruges is a charming city. The Dali museum is well worth it to see ( if you do the guided tour there is some free time or on your own) . I'd highly recommend trying belgium waffles and chocolates. One of the museums we wanted to see was closed on wed. I would highly recommend Buendia tour company and this day tour.
Great day trip from Amsterdam ! Good bus - Victor is experienced and friendly guide. Lots of time to explore city. Self guided tour worked well.
From Amsterdam it is a 3-hour bus ride each way so definitely makes it a longer day than we realized. Blanca, our guide, had double duty while we were on the bus as she gave information in both English and Spanish for the guests that were on the trip. Once we got to Amsterdam, Blanca took only the English speakers and gave us a very good tour. Bruges is a lovely town with winding streets, great Belgian chocolate (look for the cacao bean marker for chocolates made without tons of filler, e.g., sugar), and amazing Belgian waffles from Belgian Waffle House that you can get as takeaway. Very yummy! The chocolate tasting was underwhelming, but the amount of free time made up for it with plenty of places to wander around, souveniers a plenty, and interesting landmarks to photograph. Some people took a canal tour as Bruges is the Venice of the North.
There is a lot to see, and you will not see it all or do it all in this daytrip. However, as an introduction or sample of Belgium, Bruges, it's a good deal. My guide, Blanca, was extremely knowledgeable, sharp and very personable. Could have been a longer trip!
Blanca, our tour guide, was very kind, informative and accommodating. We enjoyed learning history and facts about The Netherlands and Belgium. Brugge was a beautiful, quaint city with wonderful canals, chocolates, wafels, Flemish stew, and all the shopping you might want! Blanca gave great recommendations for the best places to shop and eat in Brugge and in Amsterdam. This excursion makes for a long day! Be sure to eat a hearty breakfast and use the bathroom right before boarding, as there is no eating on the bus and no bathroom.
The bus was very full and there were very young children on board It was difficult to hear what the tour guide was saying over their talking
We had an excellent excursion to beautiful Bruges! 🇧🇪 From the charming cobblestone streets and canals to the incredible history and architecture, it was such a memorable experience. Our tour guide, Katherine, was wonderful—knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. She made the history come alive and made our day in Bruges even more enjoyable. Everything was well organized, and we truly enjoyed every part of the excursion. We highly recommend this tour, and especially Katherine as a guide. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Show up early because even if you book two tickets there is no assurance you will sit next to each other on the coach! It was completely full with singles taking up seats and no double available. While this is a great initial orientation to the Bruges 5 hoirs is not close to enough time ro do much of anything other than walk and visit.
Knowledgeable humourous guide (Catherine). Good perspective of the place. Driver was good too. Nice place.. Brugge.
Drive is almost 4 hours each way but definitely worth the trip. Guide was extremely informative and personable. Would take any tour she hosts. Had lots of free time to enjoy the city
I actually missed my trip as I got stuck in another country due to flt issues and was not able to make the trip at all I’m sure it would have been fabulous 😢
It is a long day. Our guide did not speak fluent English. Lots of landmarks were not explained at all. We were left to find our own way back to the bus which was scary. The legroom in the bus itself was very cramped. Toilet stops were unsatisfactory- dirty with no toilet paper.
I purchased the bus tour with boat. The bus ride was easy, the driver and guide (Nico) were good and very nice - they didn't chat much during the 3+ hour ride. Bruges was really cute but much bigger than I was expecting and really really crowded. I was told that I just need to show my ticket to the Boat attendants and they would scan my ticket - the first two places to board the boat told me that they did not take my kind of ticket (you have to stand in the long line to get a paper ticket first) - The third place said that they are able to take my ticket but it was too busy and I would have to come back later in the day. At that point it was going to be too late so unfortunately I never got to take the boat. :( So if you add the boat tour make sure to do that first. It is a long day, it was about 13 hours for us. All in all I I'm glad I went.
5/5 Stars – Fantastic Day Trip to Bruges! We had an incredible trip to Bruges, and a huge part of that was thanks to our wonderful team, Mr. Maritoni and Mr. Gabriel! Our guide, Mr. Gabriel, was extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and brought the history of Bruges to life with great storytelling. He made sure the group stayed together, gave fantastic local tips for free time, and was always happy to answer questions. Our driver, Mr. Maritoni, provided a smooth, safe, and incredibly comfortable ride. He kept everything perfectly on schedule and navigated the route effortlessly. Together, they made the entire experience seamless, organized, and stress-free. Highly recommended to anyone looking to explore Bruges!
Long long long bus trip. We left at 8:20 am and get back to the starting point until 8:40 pm. Trip not really as described Booked the English trip but ended up on a bus where commentary was English then Spanish. Gabrielle however was a great guide.
We had a fantastic tour! Our driver and guide (Rafita GY )were both wonderful—very friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and helpful throughout the entire experience. The tour was well organized, enjoyable, and informative. We learned so much and had a great time exploring. Highly recommended!
It was a four hour drive to get there, while the description said it was only a three hour drive. When we finally arrived at 12:30, we went straight into the guided tour of the city with no opportunity for lunch. After such a long drive, there needs to be a time scheduled for people to eat. The tour went until 3:00, meaning we did not get food until close to 3:30. The tour was fine, but our guide was very difficult to understand. We were supposed to have three hours of free time in the city, but we only had one and a half, and had to spend much of that walking back to the bus to make sure we were there to leave on time. We did not arrive back in Amsterdam until after nine pm. In a city where most restaurants close at this time, this is not acceptable. We did not get dinner after already having to wait several hours for lunch. Bruges is a fun city to see, but it was ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH the drive to get there. I wish we had stayed in Amsterdam for the day.
Loved Bruges and would highly recommend to anyone. Only reason I didn't give a 5 was ours was a combined English/Spanish tour and the guide on the bus didn't speak English very well and it was hard to understand her. Our Bruges guide Leah, was excellent. She was knowledgeable and gave us a lot of good information
Pouring rain, waited an hour, the tour bus was a no show. No contact details for Viator. The tour didn’t even appear on “past and cancelled” on the wesite. Don’t even know how to apply for a refund. Maybe it was a scam
Very disappointed. Followed link on Viator on to Apple Maps and it took us to the wrong location. Missed the bus by 2 minutes when we switched to the link on Google Maps. Frustrating calls to phone number listed in the reservation did not connect us with the tour operator.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed with this tour. The tour was mainly conducted in Spanish, and the English-speaking tour guide was not very clear or easy to understand. I had a hard time understanding what he was saying for most of the tour. The bus also did not have a restroom, which was inconvenient, especially for a long tour. On top of that, the driver did not allow us to drink beverages on the bus, which made the experience even less comfortable. Overall, I expected a better experience and clearer English guidance. I hope these issues can be improved in the future.
Inspite of the rain today, Bruges was a pretty little town with much to see & do. Viktor was good & his food & activity recommendations were excellent. Bus ride was comfortable & not too tiring. Definitely a great day trip
Very beautiful town, the trip is worth the time it takes to get there from Amsterdam. The only complaint is the fact that the bus has seats that are reclined on an uncomfortable fixed position.
Too much time on the bus and not enough time in Brugge. Suggest travel by train. Also the boat cruise looked lovely but not enough time for that and time to eat lunch. Our guide Catherine was lovely and gave us good suggestions. Unfortunately we waited 20 minutes for 3 in our group to get to the departing bus—they never showed up. We could have spent that time in Brugge!
In a new country, new place. This tours pick and drop instructions are too poor. There is no landmark or location for the pick up. We booked two tours with audio tour and only one was given the audio set and not for the other. The tour guide was very unapologetic about that. When we reached the meeting point 5 mins late , they were already leaving without any worry to stop for people who are missing. In the morning they waited over 15 mins for some passenger and the evening made us feel small and almost were racist towards us.
Blanca and Jose were fabulous. I had such a great time. Got to see so many sights, taste some great chocolate and learn more about history
Very enjoyable day! Haven’t been to Brugge since 1990 yet it has retained its charm and beauty. Still one of my favorite European cities.
Amazing day!!! Blanca was outstanding and made the day well organized and entertaining!!! Bruges is absolutely beautiful.
Very good mix of tour and free time. Well worth the bus ride, even though it was about 7 hours of travel time total.
It was a wonderful trip! Catherine was the best tour guide. We totally recommend doing this tour and enjoy a day in Bruges
4 hours at Bruges was plenty and we managed to see most sights including a canal boat tour. Cartine did a good job guiding and recomending places to eat and shop.
I would like to recommend this tour to any solo travelers out there. I appreciate Nico's professionalism and knowledge about the city. I definitely took spectacular photos of the city.
It was the best tour. Highly recommend it. Our tour guide was victor. He is amazing. First we were in bus from Amsterdam to Bruges then in Bruges he showed us everything and explained all places. Then he showed us where to go for a boat tour and where to eat. V had so much fun. One of the best tour. Worth every penny. Easy to come back to meeting point.
We had a fantastic day looking around beautiful Bruges with my siblings. It was a big 10-hour trip but so worth it to walk around this UNESCO World heritage town with cobblestone alleys and picturesque surrounds. Our tour guide Blanca was a great guide, very informative, friendly and patient with all of us. Driver John did a pretty good job we got there safely and back. Highly recommend this tour.
