Nice way to see more of the country without renting a car! would love to go back! Brugge is lovely even in the rain!

If you love history and shopping, this is the tour for you. Unfortunately, it was not for me. In addition, a six hour round trip drive was too long for this adventure.
Take a bus or train, stay overnight and visit on your own. This was a big waste of time. I booked an English tour and the tour was English AND Spanish which means I had to hear all info repeated in a different language. We could not hear the guide clearly therefore no info was received on Bruges or timeframes. Finding the meeting place was quite the adventure . Had to call the contact number to find out departure time since we could not find the guide on arrival in Bruges to speak with him. It is not worth visiting from Amsterdam considering a 6 hour travel time. On my list of worst tours experienced
We had a super time. Pieter, our guide, was incredible providing history, our itinerary and best places for waffles, fries, chocolate. Rob, our driver, was most careful.
It was a nice introduction to Brugge history and attractions but it was rushed. Pieter, our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. We had 4 hrs of going around to see more attractions but not enough time to really explore each attractions.
Charming city, very walkable, with an abundance of Belgian chocolate and waffle shops. Our tour guide Alex was extra ordinary wonderful! My only suggestion is due to the distance to/from Amsterdam to begin the tour earlier in the morning.
The guide was wonderful—knowledgeable, friendly, and made the tour very enjoyable. However, the bus had no air conditioning, and we were traveling in 38°C heat. The lack of A/C made the trip extremely uncomfortable. Great guide, but the transportation really needs to be improved, especially during hot weather.
The tour was good and very much enjoyed the time in Brugge. Our guide and bus driver were excellent. One suggestion. It is a long bus ride and the seats are very tight. I would suggest the tour guide ask people to not recline the seats. I am 5'2 and on the return trip my knees were stuck for 3 hours behind a person reclining. I was not the only person this happened to.
Our guide was a pleasant fellow and provided information on the 3 hr drive. However, there were about 50 passengers to 1 guide and no listening devices while on the walk through the city where certain structures were pointed out. It you were not close to him you did not hear a single word said, as there were lots of other tourists and noise. You were then left on your own to explore, to be back at a meeting point at a certain time.
Pleasant and smooth day. Travel guide Ian and driver Pete are clearly experienced in making a travel experience with a large group seem smooth as can be with no effort, but it does take thoughtful planning. Thank you.
Average tour , long drive, big bus tour with about 50 people, 7 hours on the road, the tour guide did not give much information what to do or where to eat after the walking tour; it was not easy to follow him either
The drive from Ams is long, but Bruges is totally worth it! It would be helpful to incorporate a brief stop half way to stretch legs.
Bruges was beautiful but very crowded. Ride from Amsterdam is 3 hours each way so one must consider that. No stops along the way for WC (€1) when you get to Bruges Shops are mostly very touristy. Be aware many things are from China (PRC) or Turkey not made in Belgium.
Our tour guide was very friendly and made it a fun experience! Travel was comfortable! Bruges was amazing! Definitely recommend.
The guide was in a bad mood and was nasty. The tour was listed as English but it was bilingual so 1/2 the time we were listening to another language, The bus arrived 30 minutes late, but the 30 minutes were not extended to our time in Bruges so we were cheated, The guide almost left my husband and I behind in Bruges because she left several minutes earlier than she said. When I asked her for directions back to the bus she gave us incomplete directions and we had to keep asking locals for directions. We overheard her refuse to help someone with a bathroom issue on the bus. She was cursing on the ride back to Amsterdam as she was sorting out the headphones. As we walked around with her on the one hour optional tour she repeatedly told us she was having a bad day. The city is beautiful, but you can’t enjoy it in 3 hours, Buy a train ticket and see the city at you leisure and without a bad-tempered Tour leader,
I was looking forward to our day in Bruges: a place I have wanted to see since I was a teenager. Unfortunately we missed the tour completely. The meeting place was not clear for someone who is not from Amsterdam. We tried to use our GPS, but it kept making us walk in circles. We later realized that the place we were looking for was in the mall adjacent to the metro/ train station. Once we found the meeting place, there was another couple there who missed their bus, but they were able to reschedule. We were unable to reschedule due to time constraints. Sadly, there was no number to call to ask questions or to ask for help. Viator is an excellent company and we've taken their tours before. My suggestion is to have the group meet in a more common and recognizable location.
One of the better tours we have done. Fantastic trip to Bruges. Plenty of time to explore the city. Great guide Ian. Very knowledgeable and kind.
Great tour and great guide but very poor direction to finding the location to the main office where the tour starts. Was delayed in just finding the place.
This is a good tour if you want to have a quick day trip to Bruges, Belgium and also need time to rest. You have a 3 hour drive to the city from Amsterdam and three hour trip back. In between then, you have a 45 minute to an hour tour of the city. After which you have three hours for yourself. This was a perfect amount of time to explore this tiny little city. I got to try a different foods, write /send postcards, visit different museums, and still managed to fit in good photo ops. I think this tour would go perfectly on a day when you need to rest a little bit but also still wanna see a lot of things in a short period of time.
Ian was very helpful and his outgoing upbeat personality made a long drive passable. The city was amazing!!!! It was a long walk from the bus to the center , but it was filled with beautiful sites along the way! Ian's recommendations were perfect! Lunch was outstanding! Every where we walked was more beautiful than the last! Bruges was so beautiful!
Fabulous experience. Ian was well knowledgeable with a sense of humor to boot. We had an amazing time seeing everything that we wanted to see plus the free time to explore on our own.
We enjoyed this tour a lot. The tour guide did a great job & knowledgeable. Bruges is beautiful, although it is far from Amsterdam, but this tour made it seamless.
Myself and my fiance booked this tour while on a break to Amsterdam last week. There were Spanish and English speaking people on the tour bus, so the commentary was in both languages. Sylvia was our guide on the bus and took the Spanish walking tour in Bruges. She was very friendly and helpful in our dealings with her on the bus. When we reached Bruges, our English speaking tour guide was Mike and he was brilliant; he took us to the main sights and explained everything in a way that made it all so interesting. He also gave hints and tips about local food and drink, including taking us to a local chocolate shop. The chocolate I bought there is the best I’ve tasted! After the tour we had a couple of hours to wander ourselves before making our way back to the bus. All in all, a great tour!
Bruge trip cancelled and not notified. But, tour group offered to substitute countryside windmill tour, which was great!! Stephen, Nike were fun and informative! Worth it!
We paid cash for a two-person Bruges tour from Amsterdam through the Tours & Tickets outlet at Dam Square. At the time of purchase, we specifically asked whether there were sufficient participants for the tour to proceed and were assured by the salesperson that there were. Unfortunately, the tour was later cancelled the day before the excursion by the operator - Enticon, and we were not notified of the cancellation. Both parties have since shifted responsibility to each other, including alleging that emails may have ended in my email Spam folder (there is none recevied, spam or otherwise). Tours & Tickets have refused to take further responsibility and have directed us to seek a refund directly from the tour operator - Enticon, despite the payment having been made in cash to Tours & Tickets. Based on this experience, I strongly recommend purchasing tour tickets directly from the tour operator rather than through a ticketing agent such as Tours & Tickets, as direct bookings ensure you receive timely and reliable communication from the operator.
It was disappointing because the operator cancelled the tour without us being notified ahead of time. We ended up switching it with another tour that has lesser value than we paid. It was difficult to get in touch with Viator on day of the tour. We could have made plans if proper notification was given.
I have a trip on Nov 19, 2025 morning to Bruges city at 9:30 am and when I went to the shop inside the central station to get my tags, they told me that the trip has been cancelled due to that the numbers of people is not enough to do the trip, I have paid the money of Euro 138 for me and my wife in cash and I asked them to refund my money back in cash, the refused and ask me to contact customer service to refund it to my account. I sent this email early morning with no response for more than 5 hours. I was so upset that no one told me before about this cancellation in order to change my plan, we are in a short visit here to Amsterdam and have a tied schedule. My money did not yet refunded until today It is really very bad experience and I advise not to deal with tours & tickets Amsterdam.. they don’t care about their customers and reputation. Brugge is lovely .I think the tour should start a hour earlier since it takes 3.5 hrs to get there to give you more time to see some of the sights. Tour guide Ian was delightful and knowledgeable.
The experience itself was great, and worth the money and likely better than taking a train. The problem I encountered was the guide didn’t seem to want to engage with me for a reason I cannot explain. It appeared to me that he kept his focus on the small groups, which as a businessman I understand, he probably assumed it would lead to bigger tips for the guide. However, as a multimillionaire real estate investor in the Washington area, you assumed wrong that a solo traveler was to be ignored.
Comfortable ride in to Bruges - really enjoyed exploring on our own. The weather was perfect for dining outside and strolling. Alex was a great tour guide and Sandra was an excellent driver.
It was more of a transportation situation than a tour. The guide was so hard to listen to that we opted out of the hour tour once we got to Bruges. He wasn’t very friendly either-just cordial. No suggestions on what to do during our free time or where to go, just gave us a map.
Very long drive and tour guide was just average. Took tour a few years ago and was not as long. City was great on my own. Meeting place was easy to find.
A very good tour. Ian the guide and Richard the driver were amazing. Ian was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable - you could tell he loved his job. It is a long bus ride - 3+ hours - but there is plenty of time to enjoy beautiful Bruges.
This was a good tour. The bus ride was 3 hours. Luka, our tour guide was okay. He really did not give us much information on the trip to Brugge during this 3-hour trip. When we did arrive, we were to have an hour guided tour of Brugge. However, he walked really fast during this tour. This might be due to how crowded it was but nevertheless it was a little disappointing. Brugge, itself was really good for seeing the churches, all the chocolate shoppes, restaurants and shopping. But it was really, really crowded. I would do this tour again because there is so much to see but not enough time to get it all in. The bus was very comfortable, no bathroom break (but one is on the bus if you want to use. There were water, soft drinks and beer available for purchase on board. Please bring snacks if you get hungry and you much purchase your own food in Brugge it is not provided on this tour, pretty much just transportation from Amsterdam to Brugge.
Excellent day trip. Ian gave wonderful information about the Netherlands, Belgium, Bruge, and many other things with humor and intelligence in two languages. His restaurant and chocolatier recommendations were helpful. The introductory walking tour was informative and well-paced. If you don’t have some sights planned on your own you might feel like the free time is too much. Do some research. Have a plan.
I was looking for an interesting day trip from Amsterdam and this was perfect! Directions to the pick up point were clear and easy to follow. I was greeted by a warm and friendly employee. On the tour bus, Ian was our tour guide. He was wonderful. He was translating the tour in English and Spanish simultaneously. A linguistic master! Ian provided some history on The Netherlands as we drove. Mind you, we had a separate bus driver, who was great too. Ian kept it interesting and humorous. The bus ride is about 3-3.5 hours each direction. I recommend using the bathroom prior to your trip, especially number two. We had a toilette on the bus, but only for number one. Wear comfortable shoes as well. Bring a water bottle and snacks too .
Bruges is worth the long drive, which flew by because you’re driving through a foreign country—much to see.
This tour is basically a very convenient way to do a day trip in Bruges if you aren't driving. The driver did a great job of getting us to Bruges a little ahead of schedule and getting us back 30 minutes early which everyone appreciated. The tour guide was disappointing. He gave us very little information on the way to Bruges. once we arrived in Bruges we were given headsets which was a good idea considering how many of us there were. Then during the 30 minute walk, while racing from the parking lot to the main square he gave us some information in English and then in Spanish. So we were walking fast trying to keep the tour guide in sight dodging cars, bikes, horsedrawn carriages not to mention hordes of people. It was hard to listen at the same time and the guide never stopped to point out any sights. So if you take this tour as a great transportation option to Bruges and not for any information a guide could provide you won't be disappointed. I would give the driver 5 stars and the guide maybe 2 stars.
Our day trip to Bruges was fantastic! Everything was perfectly on schedule, with no delays in the bus timings, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. We had plenty of time to explore the beautiful town on our own, which was a huge plus. My only minor suggestion for improvement would be the commentary. While our guide was skilled at switching between English and Spanish, it was a bit jarring and hard to follow when they switched languages with every sentence. I'd recommend sticking to one language per sentence or paragraph to make the information easier to absorb. Overall, it was a great tour and I would highly recommend it!
Our tour guide, Ian, made the long bus ride entertaining with anecdotes, facts and stories. I enjoyed the experience this tour provided.
A great one-day trip to Bruges. A long drive, but absolutely worth it. Adrian, our tour leader, was great and very knowledgeable.
The trip was punctual, well organized, fact filled and thoroughly enjoyable. Plenty of free time to explore on your own. Ian is a talented guide who is passionate about his work. Pete, our driver, kept us safe and on time. Long ride but worth it. Bring snacks and drinks for the ride.
Had a great time and our tour guide Ian provided insights into Netherlands and Belgium. Also gave great recommendations for places to visit and where to eat in Bruges.
Valt got us there and back safely. And Ian was a great tour guide. He gave plenty of good recommendations about chocolate, beer and food.
We had an excellent tour guide, a pleasant bus ride, and an in-depth explanation of places to visit/food to eat in the area. Definitely worth it!
I was expecting to see the neighborhood, sceneries but we saw more shopping than expected. Bus was late picking us up for return home.
It’s very good trip.. bus is clean & nice .the guild is very knowledgeable, we have a wonderful day .
Mr G is an amazing guide who gave us a lot of historical context and updates about Bruges, the various sites and suggested a place where we could first taste the pralines before buying them. We even ate at a restaurant of his recommendation and it was v good (had a rabbit dish there). The best pictures we took were on our way back as the crowds had thinned n most were exhausted! In the morning, the place is v crowded with everyone trying to secure the best spots for pics and videos. But enjoy the historic places. It's small and compact. Interesting that almost all the restaurants had the same price for the same dish! But the places in the back lanes are less crowded! There is a water fountain close to the choclate museum. You will need lots of water to keep yourself hydrated. Because the bus is non-stop to Bruges, they have a toilet on the bus. The canals are v pretty with the flowers, some have swans but most stores look similar, sell almost identical stuff. It's worth an entire day
It’s a 6 hour bus ride around trip. We went there on a Saturday, also one of the hottest days of the year. It was very crowded and burning. The town was beautiful.
This is a really nice option for getting a day trip in to Bruges when staying in Amsterdam. It’s a lot of time on the bus getting to and from the town but it was a good amount of time spent in Bruges itself.
