I loved it. Very tasteful and educational but also the concept and techniques on display (plasticising, the anatomy itself) are just so cool! I went on the middle of the day on Monday and the ticket was very reasonably priced. You start at the top of the building and work your way down, through different functions of the body. I think it took 60-90 minutes to complete, and there are places to sit on every floor (I think) if standing for that long is an issue. There were 3-5 pairs of people per floor and there was more than enough space for all of us to see everything. Staff were very helpful and pointed out the other attractions you can see that are affiliated with Body World. Anyone with an interest in anatomy (for science or art) will love this, and everyone can benefit from learning about their own body! I'd love to come again!
What a fascinating experience! The museum displays offer visitors opportunities to pause and consider the nature and nuances of life, as well as to shift perspectives. I’d recommend everyone visit at least once!
Absolutely fascinating. I recommend it to everyone.
Wonderful, mind opening, interesting, must see
This is a superb exhibition if you are interested in the human body and anatomy. It was so fascinating and informative. Easy to find in the heart of Amsterdam. There are six level which are walked through all about the human body (disabled access for wheelchairs is excellent) . We also got the audio guide which was worth it and gave you some extra insight. This exhibition is a must see and highly recommended.
Good exhibits and interesting to see. Would recommend
Excellent experience - well worth the visit. Interesting and well thought out exhibit. Marina was exceptionally helpful when booking our tickets.
Amazing we are blown away So interesting and informative Highly recommend
Fascinating visit- we loved the quotes
I have wanted to visit a body worlds for many years and was blown away by the plastinates on show. It is an excellent exhibition and very educational. The only down side was that there was no programme or educational materials to purchase at the end.
Great exhibition. Top tip from friend who had visited before was to get the audio guide to save lots of reading. Partner is dyslexic so this made a great difference.
Really loved visiting the Body Worlds museum in Amsterdam!! It was honestly one of the most fascinating and unusual museums I’ve ever been to — although walking into a museum filled with actual real human bodies and body parts was definitely a little surreal at first 🤣. There was SO much to see and learn about, and I loved being able to see what different parts of the human body actually look like rather than just reading about them in a textbook. I also got to learn about different diseases and actually compare parts of the body affected by a disease with healthy ones, which I found SO interesting! It made it much easier to understand what the disease actually does to the body rather than just reading about it. It also turned out to be some rather useful Biology revision — because apparently even going on holiday doesn’t completely protect you from schoolwork 🤣! So, it was incredibly educational without ever feeling boring, as there were loads of interactive exhibits along the way too. You could even have your BMI measured, which was included in the ticket and was actually quite interesting to do! I also really liked how spread out everything was. Each section focused on something different, so there was plenty of space to stop and actually look at everything properly without feeling rushed — which was probably quite useful considering some of the exhibits required a few seconds to process what exactly I was looking at 🤣. The atmosphere was great too; it was really quiet and relaxed, which made it much easier to take everything in. The staff were also absolutely lovely and really friendly, which made the whole experience even nicer! Although I could spend however long we wanted, I spent approximately 2 hours there, which I thought was a really good amount of time. It gave me plenty of time to properly explore all the different sections and interactive exhibits without having to rush through everything. Some of the exhibits were definitely rather strange to look at, but that was also what made the museum so interesting and memorable! It’s completely different from a typical museum and certainly not something you see every day… which is probably a good thing in the case of some of the body parts 🤣. However, the tickets were quite expensive, which was probably the only downside. Though, considering how much there was to see and how unusual the whole experience was, I definitely think it was worth the money; so I’ll forgive them for that 🤣. Overall, I found it absolutely fascinating, really educational and SO interesting!! Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Amsterdam and interested in the human body; although perhaps not one for anyone particularly squeamish 🤣. Would 100% recommend!!
Excellent Val for Money very interesting.
I liked the way the museum gives you insight into anatomy/biology, but also into a healthier and happier way of living! Ioanna was a great hostess, explaining how the museum is organised!
If you’re interested in the human body and anatomy/ how things work this is really interesting. My husband and I visited in March, I think the entrance tickets were about £14, cheap for Amsterdam! It took us a couple of hours to walk round, like others have said there’s a lot of stairs but there are also lifts for those with accessibility needs. Overall found it really fascinating seeing everything up close and getting a literal inside look into what goes on inside the human body. Would recommend to anyone with that sort of interest.
This experience was unbelievable and all the information and sculptures looks amazing, highly recommend this tour to open up your eyes and minds to the human body.
The ladies on reception let us change our day and were super friendly
A fantastic experience a must visit for anyone going to Amsterdam. The quality of the displays are incredible, Very informative. I will definitely visit again. The staff were really helpful and accommodating. Thank you all.
Fantastic exhibition. Learn lots about the human body, how it works and the importance of good health, well being, diet and exercise. Highly recommend this museum.
Body Worlds was one of the most interesting and unexpectedly emotional experiences of my trip. I went in thinking it would mainly be about the human body, but it was also about life, happiness, choices, parenting, ageing, and how fragile and amazing we really are. Some of the displays really made me stop and think, especially the parts about the pursuit of happiness. It was confronting at times, but in a meaningful way. I left feeling grateful for my body, my life, my children, and the chance to keep learning about myself. The exhibition is beautifully presented, educational, thought-provoking, and very memorable. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys museums that make you feel something as well as teach you something.
This experience was fantastic from the moment we entered Julia was welcoming, friendly and went above and beyond for me and my son. The exhibition was informative, interesting and a much needed reminder to take care of our precious bodies! Fascinating stuff. Thank you.
Amazing and super interesting place! We spent an hour walking around at our own pace, so much to see and learn about. Definitely a must visit when in Amsterdam as it is a very unique experience! Only downside is that the body scans weren’t working when we went so we were unable to do this.
With a lot of emphasis on human emphasis this place jas made a good effort through real like human models. Must have invested a lot but Its not really for children
It was a great experience, I was a little concerned it may be a bit like a freak show but not at all, very informative and interesting. The whole theme of health and happiness was also nicely done, not too cheesy and it was uplifting. Also thank you to the staff for being really helpful in sorting us out after I made a mistake with the ticket booking.
I saw this exhibit in Las Vegas a few years back and it was fantastic. I expected this one to be “more” being that it was a permanent display. I found it much smaller than expected.
I found Body Worlds really interesting. I learnt a lot about the human body. The scan at the end was excellent.
Both of the gents at the ticket office were so kind and lovely, we visited from 12pm on 10/06/2026 and they were so welcoming. The exhibits were beautiful and lots of fun, sad there’s not a wee sciencey gift shop as I’d have nerded out!
When we first entered the place seemed small and feared I would be disappointed but this was quickly dispelled. When these real human bodies were originally displayed there was some controversy that it took away human dignity. I found it gave a wonderful insight into the working of the human body and the things diseases did to your body. The process of preserving is fascinating. A great insight into the workings of the human body.
It was an amazing experience.
Great experience with so much information and lots of interesting artefacts! Very intriguing
A very interesting experience.
It was an interesting museum if you are interested in science and human anatomy. It was a quick activity
Really interesting and something different to do while in Amsterdam
Such an amazing experience. As a Heath-care professional, I absolutely loved this experience and found it very educational but also so fascinating! My boyfriend (non medical) also found it so interesting. 6 floors of awesomeness! Very clean and interactive.
Great experience, lifts so easy accessible for people with mobility issues. Very interesting, appropriate for all ages.
It is a fascinating concept and experience. It was so interesting to see the workings of the body in that way.
As there always seemed to be queues during the day, we decided to visit at 8.30 in the evening as its open until 10pm. On a Thursday night in March, we basically had the place to ourselves. Very interesting exhibition, and I'd always wanted to see it since it was featured in the James Bond film Casino Royale, (which the museum pays homage to). The museum really explained how the human body works and staff member Louise ensured we received a good price discount.
I don’t know how interesting and useful this might be if you are studying anatomy etc. but for me (who isn’t) it was disappointing. The trouble was that every body looked exactly the same just put into different positions. The theme of happiness was spurious. The ethics of the exhibition are fine by me as the adult bodies were willing donated. Not so obviously for the series of foetuses and embryos. The origins/authenticity of these was not made clear though a Google search suggests they are from an inherited collection. What is the process for consent for these? It was expensive and oddly dull - respect the fact I might be in the minority here.
I loved it. It was a very informative and encouraging experience. The exhibit shows how happiness effects the body.
Not on our original list of things to do but one of the best things we did. Very interesting museum about the human body. Definitely worth the money if you are in Amsterdam and nothing like it elsewhere.
Extremely expensive 48 euros for 2 persons the you need to rent a locker for your things,it is a interesting museum but I have been there 2 times over in the last 3 years and nothing new has been added we did the tour in about 30-40 min max.
Well worth the €22 euros. Takes about 1hr to go round. Fascinating models wasn’t sure if they were real or not. Worth a visit
This is a museum like no other and does what other science museums don't - show you the real human body. Sure, you may see skeletons in other museums, but can you see a recreation of blood vessels using the real thing, or what muscles look like during certain activities? What about what's inside your head, but from a real person...this is only a fraction of what Body Worlds Amsterdam showcases and although it may seem graphic or macabre, the museum showcases how, as a human species, we may look different, but we are all (mostly) the same. The display features real people who have donated their bodies to be exhibited, alongside easy-to-understand biological explanations of the body in various situations, as well as separate parts of the body, to see the inner-workings of a human. Tickets are booked according to selected entrance times. Entrance for adults is €22.50 (£19.62) and Children (6-17) is €13.50 (£11.77). This museum isn't really suited for children, given the medically-graphic displays in some areas. We booked on a Friday afternoon and the museum wasn't particularly busy. We spent approximately over 90 minutes at the museum, which included displays across various floors, with an optional test at the end, to measure your body and find results on certain areas attributable to you.
It was an eye opener for sure was unqiue you learn a lot about body and your only body u just gotta have a strong stomach to see what u see .
We had a great experience at Body Worlds. The attraction spans several floors with real human specimens and interactive displays, including blood pressure monitors, body scanners, and a personalised body summary at the end. Information is provided in both English and Dutch, making it easy to follow. Lockers are available for a small card-operated fee. We spent around 1.5 hrs here. Tickets can be cheaper if booked in advance, though we bought ours at the door with cash, ticket staff were friendly and spoke good English. Despite being popular, it wasn’t overcrowded, allowing plenty of time to enjoy the exhibits. One small suggestion for Body Worlds: please replace the pens on the final floor — we would have liked to leave a message, but none were working.
Not sure why there was even a controversy when these exhibits first started. I have been to a few of these museums starting in 1999 in Germany, and all the exhibits were well presented, this one in Amsterdam is no exception. It’s a bit smaller than others, but still very well organized and detailed explanations attached to each exhibits.
Great experience with the family, we just showed up with no booking and found it very interesting. Would recommend a quick visit !
Absolutely amazing and informative. AFFORDABLE AND WORTH IT. Took my 13 year old daughter while we were on holiday. Highly recommended outing
Something I was definitely looking forward to forward to exploring, on entering told it starts on level 6 and lifts to the side, no other explanation. Not as big as expected but interesting to see it all. Definitely worth visiting but even taking our time we were done in just over an hour.
