Exceptional experience starting with our guide and his dog who took us through quiet neighborhoods, and beautiful serene parks. We made frequent stops so he could tell us about the city, the country, and culture. Laced with humorous anecdotes, his comments were both informative and entertaining. This was one of the best tours I've ever taken and it comes with my highest recommendation.
I went on Bill's Bike Tour of Amsterdam two years ago and have compared every tour since to his. It was wonderful now to share it with the whole family. He is informative, funny and friendly. He's proud of his Dutch culture and shares an insider view of it in an endearing and unforgettable way.
Great tour with Duncan about the changes in Amsterdam through the years. He also gave us some great recommendations that lead to some fantastic shopping and food. Thank you!
This was our favorite activity while in Amsterdam. It was fun to see the less touristy side of Amsterdam. This is great activity for older kids/teens. The pup is adorable and was an added bonus! Just do this trip. You won’t be disappointed.
Duncan’s enthusiasm for Amsterdam was contagious, I had a great time and learned a ton about the city. I hope to go back soon and check out some of the places we visited.
Duncan provided us with an amazing experience, full of valuable commentary & history. We were hesitant to even bike here, and the route taken was safe, easy and well planned out! We saw things that we would never have found on our own, or even with another tour, I'm sure. Can't recommend this adventure enough!
It was generally good. Pim brought us around his neighborhood explaining some aspects of Dutch life and history. His dog really added a lot of cuteness and fun to the afternoon. Meeting point was a little hard to find. Overall I wish he had spoken even more about Dutch culture.
We had a 3 hour tour today and a really fun experience. Learned a lot about the history of Amsterdam from long ago up to today. Got to see several out of the way locations not just the city center. Herman his dog came along and what a cutie. Highly recommend this tour.
Pims bike tour was the highlight of our time to Amsterdam. We loved exploring places and learning about the history of Amsterdam.
Bills bike tour was the highlight of our trip to Amsterdam! He was kind, knowledgeable, and took us places that told more of Amsterdams history. We had a wonderful time!
Such a great tour and guide! It was lovely to get out of the busy city and learn about the quaint surroundings. Loved learning about Dutch history, too, from Pim!
best tour we did in Amsterdam! I will be recommending this to all of our friends visiting. it is safe, fun, informative, and the perfect balance of appreciating Amsterdam by bike and learning about the city. Tons of photo ops too!!
Great, safe and knowledgeable ride. It was really good to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city centre with a small group and ride the other parts of Amsterdam. Good value, good quality bikes and Duncan was a great host. Highly recommend!
Never got to experience as our guide informed me less than 24 hours before the tour that it would not run since not enough people signed up. I was in Amsterdam for a work conference so I asked how many people he would need to sign up to make the tour happen. He informed me he would need at least 2-3 people and I responded that I would try to find some other interested people. We mutually agreed that I would let him know by the afternoon (tour was scheduled for 7pm). When I told him in the afternoon that I couldn’t find others and would like a refund because we secured other plans for our last night in Amsterdam he said that’s not possible because the tour was going to happen as 1 extra person signed up (even though the initial communication said we needed 2-3 more and had I known I could’ve added one more to join). He also said full refunds are only possible more than 24 hours before the tour but he literally told me it was cancelled less than 24 hours before. This whole experience has made me distrust Viator from a customer service standpoint and will likely book through a more reputable site going forward.
Traveling thru the private green-space residential areas park and learning about the culture and architecture. Very friendly and knowledgeable guides. Bike seats were very comfortable and quality of bikes was new.
I have been on hundreds of tours over decades. This was one of the most perfectly designed tours I have ever taken. Bill is the perfect blend of charm, wit and information. The tour mixed garden spots, architecture, culture, history, and fun anecdotes in a way everyone should do but few seem to get. I can't wait to bring my family back to do it again!
Don't miss this in Amsterdam! We had a great day with Bill and Herman. History and biking in a beautiful city. We visited parts of the city we would have never learned about. Loved every minute!
This bike tour exceeded our expectations. Pill and Herman are so kind and knowledgeable. We saw Parrs of Amsterdam we would never have without this tour. Pills pride and enthusiasm of the Dutch culture was evident in everything he said. The best compliment I can give him is that we didn’t want the ride to end.
On a short break in Amsterdam with friends, we wanted a bike tour that would show us areas of Amsterdam that we wouldn't necessarily see as tourists. Bill's Bike Tours was ideal from this point of view. The "Volkstuinvereniging Sloterdijkermeer" – Community Gardens were particularly beautiful and interesting to see. Bill was friendly, fun and very informative about Dutch culture and interesting facts about the city. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Pim's tour of the REAL Amsterdam, Dutch culture and history is utterly brilliant - don't hesitate to book it! The history and stories Pim tells are super interesting and give you a real insight into Amsterdam and the people of the Netherlands. The tour is really relaxed and Pim encourages questions, which he answers honestly and openly - you'll learn so much! Brilliant as Pim is, he is outshone by Herman, the sweetest and smartest tour companion of all time. Pim doesn't hold this against him though - he's a gracious man.
A highlight of our trip to Amsterdam. Pim greeted us at our meeting place on time. He set us up our bikes and he took us through a section of Amsterdam that was away from hustle and bustle, yet so beautiful. Places we would never had seen on our own. Pim is passionate about what he does. He gave us insight to the history of what we were seeing and the Dutch culture. We were together ( a group of 6 humans and 1 little dog, Herman). Herman rode in a basket on Pim’s Bike or ran beside us. It was the icing on the cake! Thank you Pim! If you like to be outdoors and want to experience something like a local, learn about Amsterdam and the Dutch culture you will love this tour!
This bike's tour was great and interesting. Bill is so knowledgable about the area. He showed us things you would not see without someone local. We learnt a lot about dutch people, culture...and bikes in Amsterdam! Brilliant
Bill is very knowledgeable and it was nice to see things outside of the usual Amsterdam tourist attractions.
A must to do while in Amsterdam! This tour will take you out of the busy tourist areas where you'll learn about history and many local spots.
Learning about the city, how the buildings tilt and how the city added land by draining water. Bikes were very comfortable and leader very knowledgeable.
Bill is a terrific guide, filled with interesting stories about the history of Amsterdam and the places we visited along the way. The bike ride was at a leisurely pace and everything was pretty flat. I’m really glad I chose this tour over other ones to really get some local flavor.
Bill was great and Henry(his dog)was my favorite. The bike around Bill’s neighborhood was interesting and beautiful. I learned a lot about Amsterdam. So, if you want a laid back, fun tour and learn a little, this is your tour. I am definitely now on the look out for Tony’s chocolate:). Thank you Bill.
This bike tour is an amazing way to see a the non-touristy part of the city and ride like a local! Pim is a cool guy, an excellent guide and his little pup, Herman, adds to the fun of the tour! Highly recommend this activity for a relaxing and enjoyable tour!
Pim was an amazing tour guide. He helped us bike around parts of Amsterdam that were peaceful and beautiful with lots of stories and insights into culture and history. He even went above and beyond by taking photos of us for memories, and bringing his lovely little dog! I highly recommend!
We had a wonderful time with Pim on the bike tour. He is an outstanding host: he was attentive to everyone and kept the group together and safe, while showing us some beautiful sights as we enjoyed a bike ride together. We were blessed with wonderful weather, as well. 🌞For anyone considering this tour, I HIGHLY recommend it! We thoroughly enjoyed it. 10/10 would do again.
All I can say is my family was so lucky to have Pim as our tour guide around Amsterdam. Not only was our tour informative - it was fun! Between Pim, his pup, and just getting to ride around Amsterdam on bikes, we felt like we belonged in this city. I hope everyone has the chance to have an experience like ours if they spend some time in this great city.
Great, safe, fun, and very informative tour! Pim was friendly and went above all our expectations. We loved biking away from crowded touristic area. It was the best experience our children had in Amsterdam, literally they said "best tour ever!"
Can't recommend Pim's bike tour enough (even in the rain) . All 4 of us loved it (2 teenagers included!) great local knowledge and stop off points (away from the tourist route) brilliant storytelling, passion and patience in Pim. Great guy, highly recommend his tour, especially if you're not the most confident cyclist - afterwards you will be!
We really enjoyed this Bike Tour. Pim was a great guide - very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. Highly recommend if you are going to Amsterdam.
fun for the whole family. We were running late for our private tour, and Pam was accommodating. We went on a bike ferry. that was unique. we took kids age 5 to 13 bike equipment was old and needs upgrading
We really enjoyed ourselves. It was just so nice to cycle through the neighbourhood and parks and to cross over beautiful bridges. We all introduced ourselves and we had a lovely group, a very enjoyable afternoon was had.. I would definitely recommend this trip
Amazing bike tour with Pim! Best way to get a real understanding of Amsterdam from a local. Would highly recommend!
Pim is a very knowledgeable guide eager to share his passion for Amsterdam with his cyclists. The tour is a fantastic tour through the city avoiding the crowds in the city centre and seeing new exciting places - spiced with information and wonderful stories.
We had a wonderful time on this bike trip in Amsterdam, we highly recommend it! And we will definitelly come back with our friends next time.
Pim is an amazing storyteller and is very knowledgeable about Dutch culture. He prioritized safety for all the guests. The bikes were easy to use and the routes were not hard to bike. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Amsterdam for the first time! The views of Amsterdam were incredible!
Awesome bike tour outside of the usual tourist routes coupled with Pim’s superb storytelling certainly made this activity the highlight of our trip!
We had such fun on this bike tour. He was so knowledgeable of the environment and telling us the history. In addition to having so much fun we also learned a lot. Highly recommend.
We booked this bike tour to experience areas of the city that were not overrun with tourists, and it was fantastic. In addition to seeing some pretty awesome landmarks, we learned something about the geography, early settlers, ingenuity, entrepreneurialism, climate and social responsibility, tolerance, and directness of Dutch culture - all while taking a lovely bike ride just 10 min outside of the hustle and bustle. Our guide was engaging and kept everyone safe and together during this small group tour. The ride was easy, no one crashed, and it was fun and educational for my whole family. Highly recommend for an easy, fun, beautiful, and information packed few hours. So glad we did this!
I love the historical context of places we visited. It’s helpful to have a sweater or light jacket..
Amazing tour! Pim is great and explains a lot of cool stuff about Ámsterdam outside of the normal touristic stuff. Highly recommend!
The tour was great! Pim shared stories and his personal experiences in Amsterdam! I was a bit concerned with biking in Amsterdam, but the tour felt extremely safe! Thanks, Pim!
Wonderful way to experience a different side of Amsterdam away from the main tourist attractions. Pin was a lovely and informative host. It was also a fantastic introduction to biking in the city for those who haven’t. Relaxing, fun and full of interesting facts. I definitely would recommend. Thanks Pim!!
Fabulous cycling. Great host. Couldn’t have had more fun. Wonderful chocolate and stories highly recommend.
My husband and I were looking for a tour that was safe, informative, and that would provide an authentic and unique experience by a local. This tour hit all of those points. We recommend this to anyone looking for a great bike tour in Amsterdam!
