Itinerary
Starting the tour on the Max Euwe Plein beside the statue of the only Dutch chess grand master
One of Amsterdam's most famous squares in the heart of the old city centre.
We will walk over Amsterdam's longest canal for about 20 mins. We will see canal houses, bridges, numerous houseboats and a lot of people on bicycles.
We will pass Johnny Jordaan square. The famous square of Amsterdam's most famous folk singers.
Amsterdam's most beautiful church in the city centre. The famous Westerkerk, a 17th century reformed church built for the rich people in the canal district. Rembrandt is buried over here.
Next to the Westerkerk there is a beautiful little statue of Anne Frank as a remembrance. We will have a short stop here.
See the house where the Franks were hiding over 2 years and learn about the connections with the neighbourhood and how they survived over two years. You'll only see the outside.
Take a look at one of the most beautiful canals in Amsterdam, de Bloemgracht.
Virtual Reality Tour of the Anne Frank House. You will see the hiding place and how it looked during the years of WW2.
We are ending the tour in the famous Jordaan neighbourhood. Also a big recommendation to visit after the tour.

There are other options. This one was too costly for what this simple tour provided. Finding the starting point was difficult.
Was a very informative tour, great host
Great history of the Anne Frank family. Tour guide was attentive and answered all of our questions. Very much enjoyed tour.
Very knowledgeable and made our experience great.
Good tour - guide knowledgeable
Guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. Very nice and enjoyed walk and virtual tour. I got last minute tickets to museum and annex. This tour coordinate very well, even if you have tickets to the museum since the virtual tour shows you the annex with the furniture in it..
Overall enjoyed the guided for this activity. Extremely knowledgeable with the information about Ann Frank & also answering general questions
Great tour if you were not able to get into the annex. The virtual tour was awesome. Our tour guide Kaleigh was very knowledgeable and gave us a great tour. The only thing was I wish you were able to sit intermittently during the walking tour.
Excellent food tour and the guide Kees was a great story teller. Definitely sign up when you come to Amsterdam
Caes was amazing and so knowledgeable. Definitely worth it, even in the rain. It was a really good tour.
Michael was an awesome tour guide. He was full of information & answered all of our many of questions. He was very professional, along with being very personable. I would highly recommend Micheal as a tour guide.
A great overview and review of the history of the Frank family. The virtual tour was well done and easy to use. The advantage to the virtual tour is that the rooms are shown furnished as remembered by those who were there and survived, including Anne’s father, Otto. The actual tour in the house does not have the furnishings.
Sophia was an amazing tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. Virtual experience was next best thing to actual house.
Perfect experience!!! Sophia, our guide gave us such an informative background story leading up to Anne Frank’s hiding! We took the exact trip the family took to their hiding place in the house. The culmination was the virtual reality tour inside their house. It was incredible to see the original space with the actual furniture and belongings of the Frank family.
Super tour with Sophia, she was brilliant and it was very moving. We took our three reluctant teens and they all loved it!
We thoroughly enjoyed the guided walk. Michael was very informative and answered all of our questions. The walk was relaxed and we felt that it was great value. Would highly recommend.
Knowledgeable guide and very interesting. The VR at the end was a great way to experience the Anne Franke house.
Sophie was an excellent guide who made the tour fun and informative! The Virtual reality tour of Anne’s hiding place was fantastic!
Wonderful time! Makes me sad to think about how many people were lost in WW2. As a Christian, we how there all in Jesus arms now.
It's very hard to get Ann Frank house entrance unless you book well in advance and we didnt! This tour is probably better and we had a great experience with Guido our guide. He was very knowledgeable and informative about a grave situation, answering all our questions with thought and consideration. The walk was interesting and the VR experience amazing! You get to see the house exactly how it was and are not rushed at all. The actual house now is unfurnished but the VR display was furnished and very realistic. I would highly recommend this tour.
Very rich experience, anround and beyond Anne Frank. Our guide Caase is well prepared, knowledgeable and friendly. Walking Amsterdam with him gives a new depth more than meets the eye. VR experience was a good use of modern technology and allows the viewers a more immediate experience of the annex. It would not haven’t been as impactful if we just went to the Anne Frank house.
Finding the starting point for this tour is very difficult. I would suggest meeting in front of the passage way into the courtyard near the lizard sculptures. Otherwise, the tour was exceptional and engaged the whole family ages 11, 14, 40 somethings and 74. We were not able to get tickets for Anne Frank House, but this tour bridged the gap. VR experience was great.
Keep was a very good.He was very knowledgeable and easy going. The virtual tour was even more exciting. All of us enjoyed his story telling skills.
Lovely walk, very good guide (Michael), knowledgeable and engaging. Very important to keep the legacy of Anne going, and this is an important part of this.
Michael gave us a fantastic and very informative and relaxed Anne Frank walking tour, in which we learnt a great deal about the family and the related history. Well worth doing.
Great experience with a really nice Guide (Sophia)
Absolutely amazing tour. Kees, our tour guide, was fantastic and provided us with a nice surprise family connection half way through the tour. Kees made for an unforgettable experience and really showcased the cultural significance of such a dark time in life. The VR experience at the end was worth every penny, as you got to see the house as it was in the 1940s with all furniture in place and got to experience the attic which is off limits during the in person house tour. 10/10, would absolutely recommend.
Was a great tour,David our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and keen to make the tour a good experience for everyone. Loved the VR was a great way to see how the frank family lived.
Excellent experience and guide. Good option when impossible to get into actual house and may even be better in some respects. Good option if you have difficulty negotiating steep stairs and with the VR you also see their hideaway furnished.
Great food, info, friendly guide. We learned and enjoyed, and have more places to visit for more meals!
We had a lovely time in our tour with Mikeal. Learned alot and will 100% recommend especially the Virtual reality experience!
By far the BEST tour we have taken ever. Michael was very knowledgeable, polite and an excellent guide. The virtual reality portion of this tour was fantastic. It takes you right into the house where Anne and her family hid for 25 months. It has quotes from her diary all around the house you can listen to. We loved this tour and highly recommend it to anyone over only going on the museum. The VR is a game changer.
Fantastic. Really great job. Michael was very knowledgeable.
This was a great tour! It was interesting to walk where they did. The virtual reality was nice to see the house with the furniture and without the people .
Tour leader Kass very good. Better than trying to get into Anne F house. ............................
David was an absolute pleasure to meet. We missed our meeting time and place and he cycled across the city to find us! He was so kind, Very informative and knowledgeable, so good at his job. We all really enjoyed it and the virtual experience was the perfect ending it was brilliant . We cannot recommend David and this experience enough, thank you David for a lovely morning 😊
It got cancelled we didn’t get the message for me to see , the lady I then rang as we were waiting at the agreed spot did I then see the message that they cancelled and wanted to move to the next day but we are flying home awaiting our refund
A wonderful tour, our guide was very knowledgeable and explained things very well. Such tragic history. The VR of the AF Annex was very special. Highly recommend the tour.
Highly recommend - was a favorite part of our trip. Zara was our tour guide and she was awesome. Extremely knowledgeable and careful to share information in an historically accurate way - relaying uncertainty when it existed, rather than sensationalizing. Learned a lot about general pre-WWII history as well. Was great for a 9, 12 and 47 year old!
I missed out on visiting the Anne Frank museum as it was all sold out. Decided to try this and it was INFINITELY way better. It was two and a half hour walk with an AWESOME guide , Case. We walked the path Anne took, starting from the prison where she was held after capture, past major landmarks, crossing the actual office where they hid and ending with a virtual reality tour of the attic. This was an amazing experience as unlike the museum, we could each individually tour the attic with all its original furniture, posters on the wall etc as well as listen to excerpts from Anne's diary. So so so worth it!
This was a very informative and excellent tour! The VR experience was outstanding! I recommend this tour to all who wish to truly wish to see the great lengths that had to be taken to survive this horrible event.
There is a lot of walking but it helps one better understand what the Franks went through when they left their home.
I would have liked to do the Virtual Reality portion only because we were experiencing pain in our feet and legs at the time. The end location was only about 2-3 blocks from where we were staying so I asked if we could skip the walking portion and meet with everyone at the end location. They said "No that is not possible". I did forfeit the cost, which I expected, but I don't understand why they wouldn't let us attend the VR portion. The space was available since we paid for it. Not happy, but accepting.
The virtual experience takes you further into the history of Anne Frank's house with viewing the rooms WITH furniture instead of going through the house with no furniture. Would recommend this experience to anyone who wants to have have knowledge of Anne Frank & family's last walk in Amsterdam & view her place she & family stayed.
Zarah was very informative and the tour was amazing!
Zareh was excellent. Very knowledgeable! Would definitely recommend.
Interesting walk with our knowledgeable guide Ceese. Explained Jewish background of Amsterdam / Netherlands and why so many Jews were captured. Explained traumatic life for Jews under Nazis and why and how the Frank family went into hiding. VR if house interesting as shown furnished how it would have been. Took a little while to get used to VR headsets but very good.
Case was a great guide. He did a wonderful job explaining the history of the area and how the Netherlands became such a safe haven for the Jewish people until the WWII Nazi’s invasion. The information and following Anne Franks foot steps was quite unique especially adding on the virtual reality experience. Would highly suggest you check this out.
Very informative, truthful and quaint tour with a very knowledgeable guide named Case. The virtual reality guide of the Anne Frank house was amazing, actually much better than I would have expected. A must.
