Itinerary
THIS IS HOLLAND is a unique, immersive flight attraction that lets you see, feel, and truly experience the Netherlands from above. During this one hour experience, guests enjoy three engaging shows, including a spectacular 9 minute 5D flying experience, taking you across the country’s most iconic landscapes and must see locations. You will fly like a bird over windmills, canals, tulip fields, coastlines, and historic cities, brought to life with realistic effects such as wind, mist, scents, and motion. In addition to the flight, the experience reveals how the Netherlands was shaped by water, innovation, and human determination. You will discover how the Dutch reclaimed land from the sea using dikes, polders, and windmills, creating a country unlike any other. The experience lasts approximately one hour and is suitable for children aged 4 years and older, with a minimum height requirement of 1 meter, making it a memorable and inspiring attraction when visiting Amsterdam. Unforgettable!

Excellent. It was our 3rd visit and each time it had something new to offer. The latest additions of firework display was spellbinding. Just too good especially the flight crash was thrilling indeed. The lavender fields, the change of seasons interspersed with the history of Netherlands was a great watch. Wheelchair/elevator facilities for the elderly or the specially abled is praiseworthy as is the congenial behaviour of the staff. The two pit stops before the show are not worth mentioning but does acquaint the first time visitor with Dutch history and culture
This is a must do thing in Amsterdam, especially if you have kids. It’s educational and to understand the extent of the land reclamation is impressive, followed by a fun virtual flight ✈️ over the Netherlands.
Nice 4-d ride over the Netherlands. Surprising!
The activity was well curated that it moved me. I’m super grateful we took this activity. The “rise” of the people of Holland to protect its land and people from the devastation brought by flood is very inspiring. The continued loss of lives and homes in The Philippines brought by floods has a solution after all. Grateful to the creators. Definitely a “must-see”!
Can honestly say this was one of the best experiences of our lives. It started with photographs followed by 2 educational, informative & interesting videos about the history of Holland and how it was made. There was then an amazing 5D flight simulator that took you on a tour of Holland. It was like a rollercoaster but better - the seats moved, there was water spray when you went through clouds, smell of flowers when you flew over Tulip Fields and stunning views too. The staff were incredibly friendly and chatty. We booked with the iamsterdam card so our tickets were free. As a wheelchair user the venue was fully accessible and you could get a free carer's ticket. A 100% must do if you're in Amsterdam.
One of the best interactive indoor experiences I‘ve ever had. And also really informative, about the Dutch culture, the history, why many cities have ,,Dam“ in their name, and much more. All of it was told in a nice interactive, fun way, not just like monotonous documentary style! The highlight of course is the flight over Holland in a 5-D Cinema! You really get a feeling for the country, their traditions, known sights, and much more!
Very nice place to visit with your family!
Amazing! The whole family loved it!
A friend recommended this and I'm so glad. I'd never heard of it, didn't see it advertised anywhere and it was absolutely brilliant. It's a short experience (although we doubled up our booking with a canal cruise from outside afterwards). First of all you move from room to room, watching short films about the history of Holland, specifically its relationship with water and the weather. If geography isn't your thing (it's not mine), I promise it's much more interesting than you expect. It's also short and all presented by a rather lovely Dutch woman (with English subtitles and I think other languages available via a QR code). What this all builds up to is a 5D simulated flight across the Netherlands, that is a very sensory experience. It all feels very realistic and it was absolutely exhilarating. We loved it. It takes about an hour in total. I thought the experience was quite reasonably priced. You access it via a ferry by Centraal station. Ferries are every few minutes, take only a few minutes to cross to Amsterdam Noord and are all free. Highly recommended. There is the option of a canal cruise after, which we did. Informative and entertaining - our captain was Dexter and he was a great guide; funny too. We toured canals and open water for 75 minutes, taking in lots of places of interest and hearing lots of Amsterdam's history. We got dropped back where we started and, from there, there are other places to visit nearby or you can just get the free ferry straight back.
It is a fun times for all ages to learn and see the beauty of Holland. This is a 3 stage production, saving the best for last!
I had the Iamamsterdam card and entrance for this was included. The entry fee is 24 euros and I am going to base my review off this. The 5D flight itself was brilliant. Really enjoyable. You will think you are going to fall off a few times and close your eyes thinking you will be hit a few times and there are other special effects with smell and water added also. Before you get into the actual flight there is a little bit of filler beforehand where they put you in rooms and there is films about the importance of water to the Dutch and they go through some maps of the Netherlands aswell. This is all just building to the 5D Flight. For a one-off visit I would say that yes it is probably worth the entry fee, especially if you dont know what to expect from the 5D Flight because it really is a surprise. You have to get a ferry from the back of central station over to Buiksloterweg but it is free and only takes 3/4 minutes and there are two ferrys constantly working over and back.
This experience was okay. You move through two rooms and watch videos of the history of the Netherlands. All is in Dutch with subtitles. When you do the flying experience if you get motion sickness don't. The experience you fly over the Netherlands seeing various tourist attractions and parts of the Netherlands. You can smell the tulips and there is a lite spray of water. It was an experience but I probably wouldn't go back. Got the discount by purchasing the ticket for both the experience and the look out next door
The flight was so amazing. The smells, the view, the history. The experience was fun, educational and relaxing
Overall a nice experience, from start to finish. Easy check in and very simple instruction to follow. The pre show is very informative, also other languages are available to listen to the video using the app. The ride is quite long around 5-10 mins of flight, again lots of sights, smells and sounds, overall a very good ride to experience landmarks in Holland in a fun way.
This is Holland 5D experience is really awesome. Everyone who goes to Amsterdam please take time to see this visually thrilling ride.
The ride at the end was excellent. The special effects of the wind, water and movement were well done. The history of Amsterdam was fascinating. The ticketing process was quick and the guides were great.
Amazing they provide information in advance of what it actually Holland is. Great country!!
I missed this event because I thought it was the event in a similar building and after A'dam realized it was too late to catch my event at Holland. The staff at Holland showed great concern and their best to accommodate me, but I was leaving in the morning and that was the last show of the night. They had already closed operations, but still let me in the building to try to find a solution. You can't beat Great customer service like that.
Fun virtual reality type "ride"that you feel you are physically part of Gets all the senses going.Educational but done I a light hearted way. Only wish it was longer.... The typical tourist photo beforehand felt rushed and were expensive for what it is but thats the only downside.
Was so real, enjoyed the history lessons and the smells of the tulips
Loved this experience - the first part a little difficult to read subtitles and watch the map. The 3D ride was lots of fun and a great experience.
My family and I enjoyed the presentation and the ride. It was a great way to start our trip in Amsterdam!!
This was a fun review of the Netherlands. First we sat on benches in two different rooms while we learned a bit of history of the Netherlands. Then, we went into the main event- a “flight” across the country. There were scents and mists of water and a wonderful ride.
While the show was good everything else was very disappointing. Instead of having their own space to greet customers, they share the space with hop off hop on tour company. For every hundred hop on hop off customer, there was one this is Holland. Crazy. There were miles of stairs to go up and down to be done with the show. Will not do it again, will not recommend to customers with reduced mobility
Decided to go for this as I had time to spend and didn't know what to do. It turned out to be a highlight of my trip!! Unexpectedly fun -- the I would do the fly-through again if I could, and the history bits before that were very interesting. There's a quick and free ferry from Amsterdam Centraal too.
Beginning parts had English subtitles so it was hard to watch and read subtitles - I felt I missed things.
It would have been helpful to offer the audio tour in English instead of trying to watch the video and read subtitles. Also, thought it was a bit expensive. The flight part was very cool- best part by far!
Imagine flying over the country. Felt so real ! Great indoor activity for older kids and adults. Took longer than expected due to technical issues.
What an amazing experience!!
Impressive. Even for residents of the Netherlands. Or perhaps especially so. Because you recognize so much: the Veluwe, the Wadden, the canal district, and you even end up in a terrible storm while your chair shakes back and forth. I want to go again!
Awesome! A must do when you arrive in Amsterdam!
Short but insightful and enjoyable. The experience lasts about 30 minutes and is entertaining and unique.
Excellent simulated flight over Amsterdam, highly recommend.
Such a great informative experience interactively telling the story of Amsterdam. We had this free as it was included with the iAmsterdam card (you just had to book ahead!), well worth it if you have the card. It is located just next to the A'DAM tower and is such a fun unique experience with great atmosphere for all the family. We spent around an hour here exploring the photo opportunities and different guided experiences before the 5D experience. Be sure to book a time slot as it can get busy! There are lockers available for a euro to store belongings during the experience.
Absolutely brilliant experience with a flight that took our breath away.
Visited THIS IS HOLLAND and had a really good experience. I honestly didn’t know much about the history of The Netherlands before this, and it was fascinating. It really makes you realise what a beautiful country it is overall, and it’s inspired us to book a proper holiday instead of just a weekend break. All the staff were very friendly, from the ticket office through to the ride staff, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The ride itself was excellent — similar to Soarin at Epcot, but in my opinion more interesting because it focuses on the Netherlands and its history and landscapes. Price wise, we paid €27 each as we booked on the day. We later realised we could have saved about €4 each by booking online earlier. Was it worth €27? For a first-time experience, I’d say yes. Would I repeat it at that price? Probably not. But it’s definitely worth visiting at least once.
Great and beautiful. Would do it again. Well presented and very helpful staff. The feeling is as if you are actually flying on a drone
I would recommend This is Holland purely for the ride at the end which was incredible. However, we arrived early expecting to start at 10:30. 10:30 comes and that's just the start of you queuing for 15 minutes while people have photos and answer trivia. Then you watch a video, where the subtitles were at the bottom of the screen so was occasionally obscured by heads of the row in front of me. Then you go through to another room where you watch another video but the subtitles are on the wall at the side so the other visuals felt slightly wasted as you can't take your eyes off the subtitles. THEN an hour after we had been there we finally go on the ride so by the time we actually got to the best bit I felt a bit agitated but was worth it.
Had a lovely visit here. Wasn't sure what to expect, especially with the pre-shows in Dutch but learnt a lot about the country before the flight. All the stuff were very caring for my nan, asking if she wanted to use the lift and if she changed her mind to let them know. They also made sure that our group weren't all bunched up for the few of us that were there, so everyone had a good spot. Would recommend of you aren't planning on seeing the rest of Netherlands on your own
our second time doing this experience and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves again. It’s lovely to learn more about the Netherlands in an organised and structured way. staff have been very friendly and warm each time we have done this and the imagery has been updated since our last visit (2019).
Fabulous, feels so real and very well executed! Great experience and educational too! It’s not a tourist trap at all - We’re Dutch and loved it
The whole experience was informative and the best part was the 5D flight simulation flying around Holland.
It was the perfect short activity for a rainy day. We got to learn a lot about Holland in a fun way the even my teen enjoyed. Staff were very nice.
We loved our visit. I had no idea about Holland and how they have managed their water system so it was very educational. We of course loved the 5D experience and highly recommend a visit!
The 5-D was incredible and so worth it was cool learning about the history of how parts of the Netherlands came to be! 😎😎😎😎
This attraction has 3 parts to it. First section is a video and a little history of Holland, second section follows on about parts of its history, third part is the flight its self. The simulator video is great, what lets it down is the first 2 sections. There is no audio available for non Dutch speakers so you spend most of the time reading the translation and miss parts of the videos.
One of the amanzing experience while we were in Amsterdam, we all enjoyed , at some point it was bit scary and gives you the feeling that you are on a flight , it is also a kind of breif intro about the history of the Netherlands..i will recommend this place but advised to go with atleast two.
The experience was beautiful! Advertised more for children, but we also enjoyed it as adults. Nice combination of a little adrenaline and learning about the Netherlands. Possibly could have been a bit longer but we really liked the ride!
5D flight was amazing and worth the price. Very informative video on holland before flight which i found very interesting. Staff were very friendly and polite.
