Visitors go on an Amsterdam luxury historic VR boat tour through Amsterdam. The tour combines present-day sights with an audio guide and virtual reality experiences. This was a fun excursion for us. My son is 11, and loves VR, so we had to do it! He thought it was great. If this had been our first trip to Amsterdam, we would have done a more traditional tour. But if you’re into VR, and want to do something a bit different, I’d recommend this tour! The guide was kind, and our tickets included a free drink.

This was by far the best thing we did with the kids in Amsterdam by far. So cool to get a boat ride and a bit of history in one experience, on a luxury boat, comfortable seats, yummy drinks too. The VR experience was something none of us had done before and I was a little unsure but it totally brought to life Holland in the 17th century and it was so cool taking the headsets on and off and comparing the canals of the 17th century to now. Funny, engaging commentary. Very highly recommend.
A wonderful insight into life a long time ago into a city that build the foundations for commerce and freedom. A perfect length mixing between the here and the now and the past. Extremely comfortable classy boat with a small group with the first drink free. highly recommended!
An excellent tour: well-run, great crew & so interesting to ‘see’ & hear so much of Amsterdam’s history. The content was well put together and really brought the experience to life. The route took us along canals we had not cruised along on previous canal tours. Highly recommended.
We had a great time even though the weather was a bit rainy. Thought the cheese was a bit expensive, but very tasty. Crew was wonderful, helpful and polite. Highly recommend this excursion. Will take it again when we have visitors from outside the Netherlands.

Great trip - very friendly and helpful crew. Excellent commentary through earphones and amusing/informative VR viewing at various locations on the canal cruise. The VR "goggles" were easy to use, fitted over regular spectacles, and provided views of Amsterdam from centuries ago. Very well produced - Highly recommended. Location is a dock platform on the canal across the street from the Clayton Hotel.
Even if you are born in Amsterdam it is a great experience! Nice to be back in time and see how Amsterdam looks like in the past!! Skipper Joost tells a lot about the city and the host was very kind and helpfull! I recommend this experience!!
Amazing - this is a PREMIUM canal experience - well worth it! Brings the past and present together through VR and you'll look at the canals with different eyes for the rest of your stay as history has come to life. Beautiful boat and brilliant crew - welcoming, funny and engaging. The unexpected drink was most welcome on a cold day - nice glass of red for me with a wide choice of your favourite alcoholic or non-alcoholic tipple. A great addition that really brings something extra to the otherwise bog-standard canal boats (and we tried one of those too ).
Fantastic historical cruise with a twist. So much fun. The technology is amazing and our skipper and Crewe were charming and k knowledgeable. Excellent cheese and a decent red wine were available. Above all else my pooch was very welcome. Will do it again with other visitors.

We have friends that live in Amsterdam and they heard about this cruise through word of mouth and booked it for our visit. There were six of us in the party (4 adults and 2 teens). We took the Saturday 10.40 cruise which lasted 75 minutes. The boat itself is historic - it was an ice breaker which has been restored and repurposed. It has a lovely feel to it, not like one of the tourist chain cruise boats that seem very plasticky! The two guys running the cruise were great (they were very welcoming but also nicely laid back) but the VR is the star - not only do you get to see Amsterdam now but the headsets allow you to see how it would have been. We learned so much about why Amsterdam has been so historically important and even our Dutch friend (who is an Amsterdammer, born and bred) learned a lot. We would really recommend this tour - it’s really unique!

Great way to explore the canals and rich history of Amsterdam. The boat is a renovated 108 year old icebreaker which kept the canals for many years ice free! Friendly staff, good service, excellent explanations and the VR experience really gives an extra dimension. I would highly recommend this tour for both locals as visitors from abroad.

Absolutely amazing canal tour experience with VR. We felt like we time travel to 1600s of Amsterdam. The visuals, story telling and information is incredible through the VR. The captain and the guide were super friendly. We went on 31st of December, so it was incredibly cold outside and the boat was cozy and warm inside. Whether you are new to Amsterdam or Netherlands or if you have lived here your entire life, I am sure, there will something new to learn. Highly recommend!! ✨
There are plenty of canal tours in Amsterdam that take you around to show the beauty of the city. However this VR tour is truly one with a difference that truly brings the history to life. While all tours have some form of narration going, this tour brings it to life and shows 1600s everyday life going on around you. We were still laughing about the cows on barges hours later. The boat is comfortable, you have the option to have a platter of tasty local cheese to go with the drink and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. I have been to canal tour before, but I would heartily recommend this one for that extra depth in stepping back in history!

I wanted to say it was such an amazing experience! I am still talking about this trip to everyone! I love the comfort of the boat as it is enclosed so perfect for a fall or winter trip. I was impressed by the ease of the equipment. Putting it on and off was super easy and it was such a great combination of history and today. I learned a lot of things I had not heard before on other tours. Good information and a nice and clear voice. Not to forget a wonderful staff on the boat who were patient and knowledgeable and also added lots of tidbits of information as we went along! I've been to some Amsterdam boat tours, and decided to give this "unique" one a try. Boy, what an experience was it! The boat tour takes about 75 minutes which 15 minutes of it is VR, and at least 25 minute has an English or Dutch(they said more to come!) voiceover that tells the beautiful story of the Amsterdam! I enjoyed the VR visuals which accurately depicted me the 17th century Amsterdam, VR content was high quality and explanatory! I think this was a great utilisation of VR in this kind of a context! They said more content will be coming so I will be eager to revisit again! Thanks for this awesome ride!

This experience was absolutely outstanding. Seeing Amsterdam as it is today and then travelling back in time through the fifteen and sixteen hundreds using the VR segments was truly breathtaking. The atmosphere on the boat was exceptional and the crew showed impressive knowledge that brought the whole journey to life. We enjoyed a lovely drink on board along with an amazing bowl of local cheese which added a perfect touch to the experience. The tour is interactive, engaging and helps you understand the city’s history in a much clearer and more meaningful way. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone who wants more than a standard canal ride. It delivers real value and leaves you with a deeper appreciation of Amsterdam.
This is a serious good trip. Worth wile, gives a much better and mor le in-depth experience of Amsterdam in the 17th century.
