Pauline was super helpful and talked through the whole cutting/polishing work. She was really accomodating and posed for a picture with us and her Guiness World Record certificate for polishing the World's smallest Diamond in 1994 (record still held today). Really insightful tour with audio guides included.
Angela was so knowledgeable and made the whole experience memorable, we loved it. My friend even bought a diamond ring for her daughter
Verry good to visit. Don’t regret it. Recomend to visit. Royal coaster diamond is the best museum from Amsterdam. Good time
Amazing experience thanks to Simone's professionalism and competence, who guided us in the magic world of diamond. Highly recommended!
Fascinating tour. We learnt so much about Diamonds. The English royal crown was a bonus. Bella our guide was lovely. Recommend a visit.
Very interesting visit. We likes to hear the stories, and almost to see the men working whit the stones. Beautiful
They were all about selling diamonds nothing more. We went on a Sunday and got a bit of a snob. Maybe because we were Americans , he gave us no respect
The lady at the reception was very friendly and hospitable! We also received a little present (not a diamond unfortunately :-)). It was nice to see the crafstmen actually at work. The guide was very friendly. She was from Poland and her Dutch was a bit difficult to understand at times. She was quite serious. After the tour she took us to the shops. All very beautiful but helas......
I absolutely enjoyed the tour that we got for free, we had an Italian/dutch tour guide who talked with passion and interest about diamonds. Definitely would recommend visiting the coster diamond tour!
Great tour at the Coster Diamond Factory.. learning about the art of diamonds.. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and it was a pleasure to chat with her for a full hour in the end! 💎
You really get to know the intricacies of diamonds, what to look at and what to check. A very good personal tour and personal advice on what to buy, without any obligation.
We had a lovely High Tea at Royal Coster Diamonds. In a private room with a beautifull view at the Museumplein. The service was very friendly! After the High Tea we had a very interesting private tour. It was really a great afternoon.
A nice lady explained about the diamonds. She also had the mission to sell so thats a bit tricky Interesting though and beautiful jewelry to admire.
really bad. don't bother. not much information.more of a sales trap. it is a tourist trap. my tour was free .not even worth free.
This was a great learning experience on diamonds. Simone was very detailed and showed us all the beautiful diamonds and jewelry. Simone was very informative and had a great sense of humor to include proposing to me in French! This was great experience to see the diamonds in pure form and then how they are transformed into something amazing. You also get to see the 201 diamond and that is exquisite! Many females will enjoy this experience because they get to try on the different settings with the diamonds!
First time to do a private diamond tour and its very interesting. My son and I were given the chance to sit on the polishing chair and was shown how to polish a real diamond by the Coster technician. Our tour guide Annie was very knowledgeable and took her time showing us real diamonds of all sizes up close. There's also watches and jewelries to buy so make sure you bring your credit card! Treated my son to a Coster watch with 3 diamonds at a very reasonable price and myself a lovely bangle from the shop. The goody bag was a lovely touch and you get to keep a tiny diamond in a case for souvenir. Highly recommended!
Nice place, nice diamonds, but don't count for any special guided tour - it takes about 10 minutes, the rest of time you spend in the shop with diamonds (obvious), watches (ok) , pocket knives (?), electric razors (wtf???). Anyway, as it is free, I can somehow understand it. Anyway, if you are around and have some spare time - let's go and visit, but I wouldn't go there specifically for the coster diamonds museum.
A good experience allowing you to view diamonds close up. Very much worth a visit. We would certainly do it again.
If you have a spare thirty minutes and even the slight interest in how diamonds are prepared then this is a worthwhile and educational opportunity. Although a jewellery shop there was no big sales push and they made anyone feel welcome. On the ground floor there’s the opportunity to see raw diamonds being prepared and polished and the tour guide gives a good description of the different cuts which result. The craftsmen, although working behind glass, are close enough to get a detailed look at the activity and they are happy to answer questions. Upstairs the guide gave an opportunity to admire the finished products up close and personal, with more lessons regarding what to look for when purchasing a diamond, The overview was kept both entertaining as well as educational and its a welcome environment to ask questions if you wish. At the end of the tour there’s an extensive shop, selling everything from high end jewellery to souvenirs. Again, there’s no pressure for any form of purchase which is nice but there’s lots of further opportunities to admire the products. Given the tour is offered free, for anyone who’s interested it’d be daft not to tag along. They’re offered regularly throughout every day and even an expert can learn something. The tour guides are knowledgeable and it’s insightful. You could be in any city across the world but given the central location it makes sense while you’re here!
This free tour is definitely worth it. It is fun to see the cutting and polishing room. But, the tour guides were clueless! Having bought a few diamonds in my life I knew more than they did. Their 15 min talk was full of factual mistakes and left out many interesting facts about the history of diamonds in Amsterdam. The last 15 mins. is devoted to ushering you through one gift shop after another. There was no hard sell and no one was blocking you from leaving. So, go and see the diamonds being polished, then check out the finished product. Then go outside and get an ice cream.
We quickly went through the cuts and stopped by the polishing machine. Didn’t cover color, clarity, carat weight or any other pertinent info about diamonds. The tour guide/salesman was very rushed like we were bothering him. Thank goodness it was free. If you have nothing else to do for about 30 mins, go in and have a look.

great tour. great people great experience. the VIP gift was a bit underwhelming but the experience itself made that all irrelevant. i would definately recommend especially as it is in the amsterdam historical district and directly opposite the famous Iamsterdam sign.

Hi, we visited Coster Diamonds as a group of individuals, all adults around 30 years old. Our guide was perfectly prepared and provided us with an very interested story of Coster Diamonds company and generally Diamonds business in Holland over years. The diamonds we saw are making a massive impression.
I visited Coster Diamonds with a group of upper-secondary students from Denmark. We were very well-received and were taken through the diamond shop into a private show-room. There I and my students were given a crach-course in diamond history, cut, carat, clarity, and colour + value assessment after which my thrilled students were allowed to handle and try on rings. After the presentation we walked through a splendid display of diamind rings and accesories, watches ranging from the uber-expensive to budget friendly souvenirs. I can higly recommend this to anyone visiting Amsterdam.
Very friendly reception and clear explanation during the tour of the company and in answering questions. Highly recommended for those interested in or aspiring to buy diamonds.
Great tour and advice from Linda.
Pauline has made an interesting and engaging report on the work and its origin. A recommendation. Her story makes this visit extra fun and interesting.
Simone explained everything to us with great detail and kindness. We were able to see real examples of diamonds to better understand the differences that make them unique. Simone was a great host and the tour was a fantastic experience, highly recommended.
Very pleasant experience; I would have added a few more explanations about diamond processing.
Fabulous experience! Fabian taught us a lot about diamonds and how cutters shape them. We were able to examine and try some beautiful ones. We were spoiled!!
We did the tour with Simone Pilla; very interesting experience with exceptionally helpful and competent guide. We will also suggest your “boutique” to friends for purchases.
The tour at Royal Coster was very interesting, we learned a lot of new and interesting things about the art of working diamonds and their valuation. The visit and the competent and charming care of Mr Hans will always be remembered as a highlight of our Amsterdam trip.
Very nice guided tour of a pleasant French intern in the person of Cassandre who knew how to inform us about the diamond technique and the characteristics of Coster jewelry. A great time.
Fantastic opportunity to admire beautiful diamonds. Very interesting presentation by our very friendly guide. A visit we will advise. Careful with the small gift bag.
Unforgettable experience and strongly recommended to deepen the diamond industry. I thank Simone Pilla for the professionalism, courtesy and sympathy dedicated to us during the view.
An exceptionally beautiful experience. My wife and I were warmly received and given a nice and interesting tour by a very nice Mrs. Monika. We learned a lot about the different Diamonds and our visit was sealed with the purchase of a whole M👀ie ring and a glass of champagne. More than worth a visit.
In ca 30 minuten weet men het belangrijkste over de diamant. Zeer persoonlijk onthaal.
