Full description Amsterdam is a different city after dark. The day crowds thin out, the bridges switch on, and the canals turn into long lines of gold on the water. Step aboard for a relaxed evening cruise through the historic centre, drink in hand. You'll glide under lit bridges, past seventeenth-century canal houses with their windows glowing, and along the quiet stretches of the canal ring and the Jordaan that most visitors only ever see in daylight. Your guide keeps it conversational — the stories behind the houses, what the city is actually like to live in, and where to head once you're back on dry land. The light does the rest. Reflections on the water, lanterns along the quays, and the most photogenic hour of the day without the daytime crowds in every frame.

The ending point is 10 minutes walking from the starting point. You will be dropped of in the city centre next to Rembrandtsquare in a beautiful area on Amstel river.

Itinerary

Stop At: The Amstel

Duration: 15 minutes

Finish on the Amstel river at Amstel 13, with the lit-up Magere Brug behind you and Rembrandtplein's bars a two-minute walk away.

Stop At: Herengracht

Duration: 10 minutes

Explanations about Amsterdam and its great trading history. On this canal, the Herengracht, the richest traders and businessmen lived, and this is why the houses are wider than anywhere else!

Stop At: Seven Bridges View Point

Duration: 1 minutes

See the world famous sight of the 7 bridges in Amsterdam.

Stop At: Amsterdam Canal Ring

Duration: 9 minutes

This is the Golden Bend, where the richest of Amsterdam’s residents lived and where the buildings are the widest on the entire canal belt.

Stop At: Skinny Bridge

Duration: 5 minutes

Cruise underneath Amsterdams most romantic bridge.

Stop At: Red Light District (De Wallen)

Board in the heart of the Red Light District (De Wallen) and set off from the oldest part of Amsterdam as the lights come on along the canal.

Stop At: Oude Kerk

Pass the Oude Kerk, Amsterdam's oldest building (1306), its tower lit up above the canal houses of the old centre.

Stop At: Centraal Station

See the floodlit facade of Amsterdam Centraal Station from the water, the view most visitors only get from the front.

Stop At: Nemo Science Museum

Cruise past the green copper hull of NEMO Science Museum, Renzo Piano's ship-shaped landmark rising out of the harbour.

Stop At: Waterlooplein Market

Glide past Waterlooplein, home of the city's famous flea market, with the lit-up Stopera opera house on the Amstel beside it.

Stop At: Prinsengracht

Follow the Prinsengracht, the longest canal of the ring, past the Westerkerk tower and the houseboats and gabled houses glowing after dark.

We had an absolute blast on our tour with Starboard Boats. We did the cheese and wine/unlimited drink cruise. The flowers and decor made for great ambiance and very worth the admission fee. Diana and Ilya were such a fun duo on our cruise and gave us some wonderful memories for about a 1 hour cruise along the canals. Some hilarious fun facts about the architecture and different neighborhoods. Highly recommend!!
