Aaron was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable about the subject and very easy to understand. Highly recommend him
Tour was slow paced. While the guide was passionate about the subject, her delivery was tangential and often included inaccuracies. Most interesting component was visiting the museum at the former Jewish Theater turned deportation location. All in all, I would recommend other uses of this time in Amsterdam.
James was EXCELLENT! Very knowledgable on the topic! He made you feel like you lived through it did an excellent job!
The tour covered a lot of ground in the two hours. Scarlett, our guide did an excellent job of educating us about what the Jewish community of Amsterdam had to go through during WW II.
James was a great tour guide and very knowledgeable. He approached the subject with the respect it deserved. He gave us reading, movie, and series suggestions to learn more about some of the subjects and stories that he shared, as well. We appreciated learning more about the history of the holocaust and WWII in Amsterdam and the Netherlands. My only negative comment to the tour company is that we booked the small group tour of up to 8 people but were taken on a large group tour. Thankfully it was not too large but it’s disappointing to pay the higher fee for the smaller tour and be grouped into the lower cost tour.
Enjoyed our tour guide and got lucky enough to the only 2 in our tour. Covered all the main areas. Only downside was that our ticket said tour time was 12:30, had to contact the company and the said the tour was actually started at 12:45. The guide showed up exactly at the start time. Good of the WW 11 and Jewish history. Very little on Anne Frank. Glad we did it. Learned lots.
Very informative. Personable and engaging tour guide. Great insights and stories about Amsterdam in WW2.
James was fun, well versed in the history and made the tour remarkable. Our favorite tour of our trip to Amsterdam.
Aaron was a very pleasant tour guide. He was very knowledgable and accommodating. We took a private tour bc of mobility limitations and he was perfect in adjusting his pace for us. He also listened to both of my kids questions and answered them with knowledge and respect. The company was also great with communication, from the moment I booked to the time of the tour. Highly recommend the company and Aaron, specifically.
Great tour, highly recommend! James was an incredible guide - very knowledgeable on not just the subject matter, but also the history of this beautiful city. We saw so many interesting sites, heard so many great stories and learned a lot. It’s a must-do tour of an important part of history, with a great tour company - and one of the best tour guides I’ve ever had!
What an amazing experience! James was kind and extremely knowledgeable. He shared unique stories and made the experience immersive. Worth every penny. Highly suggest
Incredibly interesting and knowledgeable tour guide, Aaron - his knowledge goes way beyond Anne Frank and WW11
A very interesting and informative tour around the Jewish Quarter of Amsterdam that makes you think.
I wouldn't know because the tour guide did not show up. We waited for 30 minutes after scheduled start time.
James was prepared and organized for this tour. He was very knowledgable regarding subject matter. He answered all the questions and filled in additional info
I encourage people to take this tour. It provides a more in-depth explanation of what was happening in Amsterdam before and during its occupation. James was an excellent guide with great knowledge to share.
Guide was very informative, informing the party of other things relating to Amsterdam and not just the war. Friendly and was willing to answer any other questions asked.
James was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable and interesting. I’d recommend this tour. (Just one note, on the tour description when I booked it said it was a private tour, but it was a small group tour.)
Very informative walk with a well spoken informed guide, James. Pointed out important sites. Recommend.
James gave us such an amazing tour full of history and personal stories. I recommend this tour to everyone!!!!
Great knowledge of everything we went to see, great that he was also a local with great knowledge passed down from family
James was extremely knowledgeable, giving us the relevant historical information and some modern perspective as well. The tour was just the right length and it left my wife and I discussing what we learned well after.
Our guide had a history background which really enhanced the tour. He also was very funny. This tour is the right length.
James was knowledgeable and passionate about the education given on this tour. While the tour is a somber remembrance of evil and hate, I believe it is important to remember what happened
A very interesting and informative walk telling the full history of what happened. Guide was very knowledgeable and could answer any questions.
This was a very interesting and informative tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and energetic. She kept a great pace and made sure that we all stayed engaged. We learned a lot and enjoyed our time!
We knew very little about Anne Frank, her and her families lives and deaths, or the wider history of Netherlands. After the tour, we knew an awful l9t and everything presented clearly and in an interesting way.
The tour ended up being the higlight of our short stay in Amsterdam. Our guide was engaging and shared stories that made the history come alive. A must-do when visiting Amsterdam.
Amazing interesting and emotional tour! We realized during the tour how terrible the war has been and then also this moving story about Anne Frank and her family…Our guide from Trigger Tour was so respectful and had a lot of knowledge. A ‘must do’, this tour whenever you visit Amsterdam!
The tour guide was excellent but I was disappointed in the advertising of the tour. It said Anne Frank AND World War 2 I thought it included the Frank House. I was too late to get tickets and the boat left the next day
Both Josha and and the tour were great, however we were under the impression that the Anne Franke house was included, based on how the title read. Anne Franke house IS NOT included in this tour.
Aaron was an amazing tour guide. He’s very knowledgeable and authentic. We really gained so much insight about what happened in Amsterdam during World War II.
We had a wonderful tour with Keese. He was so incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about all things WWII and the Anne Frank story. Keese made it personal with stories of his own family’s history. Definitely ask for Keese if you choose the tour.
The guide James was very knowledgeable and took us to many parts of Amsterdam where many tragic events took place during the persecution of the Jewish population in Netherlands. It was surreal and poignant standing outside apartments of people who had been driven from their homes and treated so inhumanely, and the various buildings that were used by the Nazis in their persecution. The pace and duration of the walk was just right.
Tour guide was great and knowledgeable but the tour itself was VERY MISLEADING. There was very little associated with Anne Frank other than she was one of the Jews killed during WWII. The tour is billed as an Anne Frank tour and we thought this included the house. Only with you click into the tour details of what is “not included” do you see that the house is not included. You done even go near the house (they are banned from going near as they as not associated with the Anne Frank house at all. Still an interesting tour but now what we expected. Buyer Be Ware!
An excellent tour led by our guide, James. He was incredibly knowledgeable and sincere in his delivery of the information. We learnt a great deal about life during that period, which at times was very moving. Thank you James. My only negative was finding the Meeting point at 51C which was confusing!!!! Why not just say meet by the entrance of the H’Art museum? Would have been much clearer!!
This was an interesting and insightful tour. It was the highlight of our trip. David was our guide and I can’t say enough good things about him- he was so knowledgeable. It was a great walking tour for anyone interested in history. Don’t miss this tofu. P.S. the name is misleading but we knew the tour didn’t go in the Anne Frank house. We went to the Anne Frank house separately and this tour was much more in depth and informational.
The tour is centered around the jewish quarter in Amsterdam. The guide is very knowledgeable and humble. We greatly enyoyed this tripp.
If you want to learn about Amsterdam's Jews during WW2 then do this tour. James took us to inconspicuous locations with sad stories, even current tram tracks!
Everything was memorable. However, for those with young children, keep in mind is a “walk tour” ( its a long walk… LONG for some kids) my 8 and 10 year were exhausted, by the time we arrived to the Anne Frank museum, they were very tired. Other than that, its a amazing tour , lots of historic moments and places.
We really enjoyed this tour. Okay you can really think you are getting access into the exact house but I knew this and enjoyed exploring the areas that Anne and the Jewish people lived and grew up
Our guide was wonderful and very passionate about her tour. But unfortunately when you put Ann Frank tour people turn up to the Ann Frank House but that is the only complaint! Found the tour very informative
Missed the meeting spot…got lost so didn’t see it at all 😞Didn’t find the location instructions easy to access. From my email. Requested to join a tour the following day but received no response.
A good background on WW2 and on how the Jews were treated and the places they lived etc . A fair amount of buildings related to the Jewish colony and history behind it etc. good tour to understand the basic background of Jews in Amsterdam bavk then.
Knowledgeable guide, precise information, and interesting sites. She was able to point out little known places relevant to the study.
The tour was excellent. Extremely informative which is what I look for in a tour. The guide was extremely knowledgable about history and was very respectful about the information he was providing. Would recommend.
Our guides knowledge of this history we were surprised on how incomplete the history of the ww2 years is and how much more needs to be found and documented.
What a knowledgable young man! He knew so many nooks and crannies of Amsterdam’s historic WW 2 sites and Jewish history!
Very real, very touching, hard to imagine if that had been your family living in those conditions. Excellently displayed.
