Took the Free (Walking) Tour of Amsterdam with a friend. Our tour guide, Jules (not sure how to spell it), was very knowledgable and did a great job of showing the complexity of Amsterdam's history. We hit many of the main sites of Amsterdam and were able to get a good idea of Amsterdam's story.

The tour was amazing, we learned many things about Amsterdam’s history and culture! Would definitely recommend! Thank you to Oscar for this really great time!
Sebastian was entertaining on the combo classics/alter arive amsterdam tour. Very entertaining and informative. Thank you
We had a great time doing this tour with Carolien. The two hours flew by without even a thought as we were always entertained by many interesting or quirky anecdotes. You can tell she loves her city.
Our tour guide Carolien was excellent and so knowledgeable . She spoke clearly and Answered all of your questions. Was a wonderful introduction to Amsterdam. I was with a friend who is a long time resident of Amsterdam and she learned knew information and enjoyed the tour as well!
Brilliant afternoon with Carolien, she was a very knowledgeable guide who took us through the history of Amsterdam with anecdotes about the city. Well worth doing, would recommend.
Great walking tour run by Danny. Lots of interesting information entertainingly presented. Very interactive and an interesting route.
Fantastic tour with Danny! I have been to Amsterdam before and I learned a whole lot about the city that I didn’t know before. My boyfriend and I both enjoyed the tour and all of the highlights that it provided. I would absolutely recommend to a friend!
Carolein was very friendly and knew an amazing amount about the city. She took us places we never would have found by ourselves. Highly recommend this tour.
Tour was canceled a few days before it was scheduled, presumably a guide issue - ok I understand. Alternate dates were offered, but I was not in amsterdam for those dates and/or had other reservations already. I have made multiple requests to have my prepayment refunded to no avail (once I made this request they ghosted me), and now forced to dispute the charge with the credit card. It was a measly 3 euros to hold my reservation for the "free" tour, but on principal this is not acceptable.
When I travel, I sometimes go on a tour of the city I am visiting as I like to learn about the history of the area. I prefer to go on tours at the beginning of my trip as it helps with figuring out how to get around the city as well as discover attractions and sites I may not have been aware of. Sandeman's New Europe tours are free, but you're expected to tip the guide at the end of the tour, which is a win-win for everyone -- you don't need to pay more than you can afford, and the guide ends up making a decent amount. And because their wage depends on what people will pay them, the tour guides make an effort at being knowledgeable, entertaining, and personable. Sandeman's also offers paid tours to certain attractions. I've previously been on free Sandeman's tours in Berlin and Prague (as well as some paid tours), and the tour guides have been excellent, so I signed up for a free tour on our first full day in Amsterdam. Unfortunately it was raining at the beginning of the tour, but despite the weather, I had a good time and learned a lot about Amsterdam's history. The tour was two hours and started in Dam Square. The name of our tour guide was Pau, and she was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Because of the tour, I learned about Stolpersteine, or Stumbling Stones, a memorial to victims of the Holocaust. If you like learning about the history of the cities you visit and don't want to spend an arm and a leg, I highly recommend Sandeman's New Europe tours.
We thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour with our guide Caroline. She was very knowledgeable and kept us totally engrossed for two hours. Thank you Caroline!
I had a fantastic (English speaking) experience with Xenia. She is a teacher and did a fantastic job on bringing the rich history of Amsterdam to life! Highly recommended!
i booked this tour 10 days in advance and confirmed the booking one day before the tour. when i got to the meeting point the guide told me that the tour is full. same happened to another solo traveller beside me. the reason, we were told, is that some big group booked the tour and therefore the tour is full and we can not join. the guide just pushed out solo travelers! if they have a big group. it’s a shame ! it was my last day in amsterdam and i had no chance to book for the next day another company. will not book sandeman again. beware!!
We booked this tour and where told that because of the size (6 people) we needed to supply a credit card to hold the spots. We have done this on other walking tours so it seemed normal. The tour guide confirmed the 15 euro/person on the credit card was only a hold to insure the spots where reserved and the card would not be charged. The tour was great and we tipped generously based on this. It was only later when checking the credit card I discovered that the card was charged also. Sandeman customer service then said the tour was not free as advertised. So in hide site we paid twice for this tour.
We were left lying around for not booking with advance payment. And worse, the same day we booked the free tour, leaving no option to look for another company.
Excellent experience with Adrian!! We got to know Amsterdam in an enjoyable and fun way. Extra bonus: Adrian is an excellent photographer!!! Highly recommended!!
Very good tour, adrian a genius! Very friendly and entertaining all the guide! I recommend that more perform and how to know more about Amsterdam!
I recommend doing the tour with Adrian, it was not only entertaining but integral. The city lives differently after the tour.
A highly recommended experience, it was a pleasure to do it with Adrian, who explained the story in a pleasant way and putting a little humor with his “bad jokes”. He is also a spectacular photographer!
Our guide Adrian has made us a very pleasant and fun tour. 100% recommended to get to know the city a bit more. Thank you so much!!!
The Free Tour with Adrian was wonderful, really recommended and enjoyable. We took a great memory of the city thanks to him.
Very good experience, the guide (Adrian) made the tour interesting and easy to understand. In addition, he was attentive to the whole group.
All perfect. We got to know the story and tips to have a better time. The guide was very friendly and entertaining.
We really enjoyed the tour, it was a small group so we were able to interact more and it was dynamic. The information provided by the guide was interesting and the tour became very pleasant. Thanks Pau!
We have done the tour with Alex Goeda, he has told us so many things about the Jewish Quarter, and so many facts about the war etc... that he is a very cultured and enlightened guide and very friendly, we recommend it without any doubt. Thanks Alex for your recommendations.
Alex is an exceptional tour guide! Our experience in Amsterdam was unforgettable thanks to his deep knowledge of the city and his passion for sharing it with us. Alex took us to iconic landmarks and showed us secrets and curiosities that we would not have discovered on our own. His friendliness and professionalism made us feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the tour. We highly recommend Alex and his tour guide service! Federico and Eliana
Very good ride. Alex gave us a lot of information about the history of the city and the different places we visited. He was always willing to answer questions. It's worth doing!
Living history!! Amazing explanation of the Jewish quarter and very good food, thanks to Alexander's recommendation. Unmissable in Amsterdam!
We did the Sandeman freetour with Agustin, a boy who with his Argentine accent camels, but you finish the freetour with a foolish face.... we saw absolutely nothing emblematic of Amsterdam, he put us in a university yard that has little interest, really. A disappointment. I do not recommend it at all. On top of that it's the only freetour I've done that says the approximate amount people pay pulling up obviously. What a jackpot.
We did the tour with Jesus Bustos and he was 10/10. It was very entertaining the whole tour of Amsterdam, its history, landmarks, customs and so on. We both left very satisfied with the tour
Excellent tour , highly recommended and pleasant thanks to Paz, who also made very good recommendations for our stay
