Amsterdam Traditional Dutch Blue Tile Painting Workshop

Was really really really very fun!

This was such a fun experience! You get to select your design, paint your own tile and learn some history along the way. Water, coffee and tea are included and bathrooms are available. Sabrina was a great host. Highly recommend!

Directions were straightforward and there were lots of patterns to choose from or you could be creative. While we were painting we received an in depth history of Delft painting. Fun

I went along with my work team and we had a wonderful time. The staff was accommodating and guided us through the process making it fun for all. Highly recommend.

The class was so much fun! It was very easy to follow and made it so every tile looked amazing by the end. The instructor did a great job assisting when needing help.

I booked this for me and my girlfriend and we had such a great time, the girls that work there were very welcoming and helpful. The painting was very laid back so we had plenty of time and didn’t feel rushed. The staff were constantly available to help or guide anyone that needed it. Would 100% recommend this as it’s well worth the money

My husband and I did this activity during our trip to Amsterdam. ​Sabrina was fantastic—very kind, welcoming, and clear in her explanations. She also gave us an introduction to the history and origins of Delft Blue porcelain. ​You don't need any prior artistic skills or experience at all: the techniques taught and guidance provided are good so that anyone can leave with a beautiful piece. ​Huge thanks to Sabrina for a nice time! We highly recommend this experience.

It’s a great activity for everyone. 90 mins of calming painting and friendly chat with lovely hosts who help you along through the process every step of the way. Whether you have painted before, it doesn’t matter, everyone creates a special souvenir

Great family friendly activity and liked that it was traditional too. With all the materials provided feel it's great value for money. Staff were all very friendly. Feel that an hour and a half is a reasonable expectation to get your piece finished, but some may find it rushed if they're trying to do a piece that's more complicated, so I'd be going in expecting to complete a simple piece. Would recommend

A very good experience and worthwhile to keep the tile at the end. There are templates if you need ideas for your tile. The hosts were fabulous and couldn’t do enough to assist.

Perfect experience painting traditional tiles, learning about the history and following the process similar to what was previously done. Great value for money for a quick and calming but out of the normal attraction. Will definitely want to come back and build a tile collection with a personal touch. Team were wonderful and very informative but very helpful with any and all techniques needed to help with the painting.

This was a lovely experience with my mother. The instructor was kind and helpful, very pleasant. The tiles were fairly intuitive to make with their help. Free coffee/tea/mini stroopwafels as well which was so nice. We really had a great time.

This was a great way to include a souvenir to bring home. Also learning the history. Sabrina was informative and fun. I only wish the group of 6 were more respectful of the small space and volume of their side conversations.

Super fun experience to paint my own tile- even though I’m not a great artist. They make it so easy and provide designs. The history of the Delft craft was interesting. Such a fun way to spend the afternoon and have a lovely souvenir.

Location within walking distance from Central Station Amsterdam; friendly welcome and good explanation of how to go about the painting; a thoroughly fun way to spend 1.5 hrs with family or friends.

As a group of 5, we had a lovely experience during the workshop. Sabrina was a great host and was super helpful and took the time to chat to everyone about their time in Amsterdam. The instructions were clear and very easy to follow, we would 10/10 recommend for anyone looking for a group or solo activity in the city!!

The teachers were great! My mom and I came in with little artistic experience, but were given step by step instructions to make beautiful tiles! Adaptable to skill level, which is helpful, too.

Really fun to do especially with the history behind the experience. Plus you get a personal souvenir and a great memory. Sabrina was great at explaining the steps and engaging with everyone. Highly recommend.

Workshop is in a residential area. Other than standing on the sidewalk, there is no place to wait for your experience to begin.

This was an enjoyable, unique activity. It did feel a bit rushed… maybe another half hr would have been better. I would have done more yo my tile if there’d been time.

We had such a lovely afternoon, BeeBee the art teacher was very informative and helpful. She was very understanding of hidden disabilities and her communication skills were adjusted and excellent Thoroughly enjoyable and we actually produced tiles to be proud of with very little skill to start with

A great way to make your own unique souvenir of Amsterdam. Conveniently located for the city centre, the session includes as much support as you need, and all the supplies to paint your own tile. The painted tile is then packaged up securely and needs to be baked in a domestic oven when you get home.

The people running the tour, explained everything clearly, were super friendly and helpful. Loved spending 1.5 hours being creative! The history talk about Delftware and VoC really informative. Providing the coffees, stoppages and mimosas were a great touch!

Excellent experience with the Delft Tile Workshop! Everyone was patient and pleasant. Did not think I was able to create the tile I did prior to starting. Would have liked the workshop to have been a touch longer, but regardless am excited to come back next time we are in the Netherlands!

We were a bit hesitant to try this as we are not the best artists, but what a great experience we had! There are so many designs to choose from with varying levels of difficulty. You can even make your own designs. There’s literally something for everyone! You are given step by step directions and even a small history lesson. We even got in some great ABBA tunes! The best advice I read on here before attending was to pick your design early, because with such an overwhelming amount of choice, it can be quite difficult! Another thing worth mentioning is to not arrive too early, especially if you are not the first workshop of the day. This can be tempting if you don’t quite know where you are going or if it is really raining. The space is small (but does not feel like it during the workshop) and cannot handle extra people waiting for the next session comfortably. Another group came at least half an hour early (15 minutes before the end of our workshop) and expected to be let in due to the inclimate weather. The hosts must also have some time to clean up after one group and set up for the next. Our host handled this situation beautifully despite its stressful nature. We will definitely book this experience again. I cannot wait to try a new design!

It is a great way to spend an afternoon learning a traditional Dutch craft and also making your own cute keepsake! The teachers are great and make the whole thing accessible to everyone...ni matter your age or artistic capability!
