Itinerary
This lively square is our meeting point and the perfect introduction to Amsterdam’s character. We'll greet you by the statue of Rembrandt and introduce the tour.
Enjoy one of the most iconic views over the Amstel River. We’ll talk about the origins of the city, its relationship with water, and take photos with a postcard-worthy backdrop. Learn why the Amstel is more than just a river.
Marvel at one of the most stunning cinemas in the world, blending Art Deco and Amsterdam School styles. We will tell you the extraordinary story behind its creator and the architecture that continues to fascinate designers, locals, and travelers alike.
We’ll walk through the only floating flower market in Europe, filled with color, scents, and symbolism. Learn how flowers became a national icon. At the nearby Munttoren, discover its unexpected role in Dutch financial and social history.
Step into a whimsical miniature world beloved by local families — The Mouse Mansion. You’ll see tiny handmade rooms, charming details, and hear the story of how this imaginative world was created by a Dutch artist and her daughter. It’s a quiet insider gem you won’t find on typical tours, tucked away behind one of the busiest shopping streets.
Peek into a surprising modern installation by artist Maarten Baas in a hidden shopping passage. Right next door, we’ll reveal the little-known history of a building that was once a prison—and how it was transformed for modern life.
At lively Spui Square, we’ll stop by a traditional herring stand where you can (optionally) try traditional Dutch herring — a true local delicacy. We'll share fun tips on how to eat it like an Amsterdammer and the history behind this iconic snack.
Begijnhof - where you can hear a story of this cozy yard, find out about its original purpose, visit a hidden church, and get to know more about the 80 Years’ War.
Indulge in two of the most beloved Dutch flavors — artisanal cheese and stroopwafels. While enjoying the taste, you’ll hear facts about Dutch food culture, traditions of cheese-making, and how the famous syrup waffle became a national treat. These tastings are included in the tour.
The National Monument is more than a memorial: it’s a symbol of reflection, freedom, and sometimes even quiet protest.
Admire the Royal Palace from the outside and learn how this grand 17th-century building transformed from city hall to royal residence.
Right next to the palace is the Nieuwe Kerk, a former church now used for exhibitions and royal ceremonies. You’ll hear how religion, monarchy, and art come together in this still-active cultural space.
Welcome to the heart of Amsterdam. We’ll explore Dam Square’s layered history.

My historical sight-seeing tour was phenomenal. It started right on time and went smoothly. The group's guide, Christian was very friendly, down to earth, and extremely helpful. I was in a very small group but he still made sure everyone kept up, both with walking and with the tour. Christian was incredibly informative for the whole two and a half hours we spent walking and exploring. It was a bit of a chilly and slightly windy day, which meant not too many crowds to walk through. Even if the streets were very busy, I think the tour would definitely still be worth the price. This tour is an outstanding option if you spend your trip in this area of Amsterdam, and want to know a little more about the history.
It was amazing! it took almost 2,5 hour walking around historical center of Amsterdam! The excursion was informative and interesting. I learned a lot about that amazing place. Thanks a lot to my guid.
We had a great walking tour with Christian. The tour covered history of the city, hidden spots we wouldn’t have found on our own & yummy tastings. It was lovely to spend our first morning in Amsterdam wandering around the city, hearing interesting stories. Christian tailored the tour to our interests & gave us recommendations for the rest of our trip. Would highly recommend.
Great tour, and really nice tour guide (Christian). Learned about Amsterdam, saw the key sights, and learned about several interesting places (the hidden gems) that if we had been there on our own without a good tour guide we would have walked right by without noticing. The cheese and stroopwafels were good too.
Christian was top class! We were blessed with a private tour for 2! He matched our vibe right away and he answered even the curve ball questions! Walking and talking is exhausting but we saw so much and learnt a lot! 👣 We tasted cheeses, learned history, walked almost 5000 steps, saw so many interesting things! Then after all that we sat and enjoyed a coffee while he gave up tips for dinner and more exploring! 😊
Our guide was Christian. He gave us ample time for questions and a coffee break, but always on point with the old history and beginnings of Amsterdam and its famous canals. Wonderful overview of the Golden age and highlights of famous buildings in Amsterdam. So kind of him to give me his jacket and my husband an umbrella for the rain and wind that was becoming uncomfortable. Recommend this tour for in depth background of this city.
I had a great time despite the rain. The tour was packed with interesing places, the art deco cinema stole my heart! Special thanks to my guide Olga for being a great storyteller and brightening up my day
Aleksander was our guide for the day. He was very flexible, accommodating and very patient guide, very informative and interesting!
Convent, mint tower, prison that is now a mall, clock with a little man cleaning it, Pathe theatre, Anna's personality.
Great walking tour, thanks to Ana for her insights and knowledge. We were the only participants on the day, so it turned out to be a private tour. Ana was easy to understand and engaged well with us. Not as much walking as I was expecting, but we still learnt a lot about Amsterdam and The Netherlands. The only thing we missed was the snacks promised in the tour.
Thank you for an amazing excursion through Amsterdam! Our guide was Kate and she was really trying to give us as much interesting info about the city as possible. Not just historical information but also fun facts and hidden places. Highly recomnended!
Good evening, thank you for the tour, Alexander made an indelible impression!!! He has excellent knowledge, a wonderful voice and he is a wonderful storyteller! Thanks a lot!!!
Great tour through the hidden gems of Amsterdam with lots of interesting historical facts and stories, jokes and great hints on places to see/shop/eat.
Wow!! this is a great tour and the guide, Sasha, was amazing!! He was able to answer all our questions and provide us with so much information. This is a great way to see the city!! I highly recommend this tour and hope you get Sasha as a guide, but I am sure they are all good. Even if you don't have much time in Amsterdam, this is a must tour.
Fantastic tour! Alex, our guide, was very friendly, knowledgeable and flexible. He made sure that everyone feels included and does things in their own pace but still managed to hold the group together and tailor to everyones needs. He answered all the questions we had and spent some additional time with us to make sure we cover everything. I live in Amsterdam for years and learned many new interesting facts. I definitely recommend it, it was so much fun!
We had a wonderfully informative and enjoyable tour of Amsterdam. Alex gave great insight into the history of the city and took us past interesting spots along the way, many of which are not on the normal tourist track. I highly recommend him!
Great tour into history of Amsterdam from the time it founded, understanding reasons of how it became such a great city while viewing beautiful sites, hearing stories and getting recommendations where to eat and meet locals. Ekaterina is excited about the city and passed this excitement to us. Highly recommended!!!
We had a great tour with Alex, his knowledge of both the history of Amsterdam and its inhabitants, both famous and not so famous was encyclopaedic. The tour included a number of building and locations that would normally be missed (by tourists) and his enthusiasm shone through.
Thank you for a wonderful tour .. It was very interesting and informative! Hope to see you again and many more times!

It was my first time in Amsterdam, so first impression is important, isn't it? Our guide Sasha was very friendly and put a lot of attention to each participant. All sightsites were nice, all historical references were interesting, so I'm satisfied in general
We saw many secret places. A hidden church and small hidden gardens are absolutely a «must-see». We tasted delicious herring and very fresh cookies. Also, we got many recommendations on where to spend other days. We absolutely fall in love with Amsterdam and the Netherlands and it happened because of this tour, I am sure! Thank you, Snurk.Travel team!
i've been to the Netherlands several times and each time I order at least one tour with this company. They are very knowledgeable, great, and friendly people. All the guides are genuinely kind, respectful, interesting and warm hearted person. I met them as guides, but they became my friends. thank you!
Very nice and informative experience during my stay in Amsterdam! I fall in love with this city during my tour by Anastasia. I will come back for sure, I would love to experience all the places in the Netherlands.
Great tours from My own Holland is the must for anyone: visitors and residents! informative and comfy! You will see lots of unusual places and tasty locations! Highly recommended!
Amsterdam is crazy popular town and so there are many tour agencies to choose from. Most of the them are run-of-the-mill. “Your Own Holland” is *completely* different. Anastasia is in love with that town and knows more about it that (I suspect:) most natives. She will take you to cute little streets you would have never found yourself and answer questions you secretly wondered, but were afraid to ask (why so many buildings look like they are titling forward and how do you get a piano up the Dutch stairs?). Not only she is super knowledgeable, she has a lovely personality and great organizational skills. We’ve had three tours with her so far and every one was as different as it was amazing. Pick this one. You won’t be sorry.
Thanks for this tour. It was wonderful time, the route is perfect! Not many tourists and beautiful locations.
I visited many tours with Your Own Holland (Amsterdam highlights, Amsterdam Jordan area, Jewish Amsterdam, Haarlem, Leiden, tours in farms) and every time I get so much positivity, knowledge, exciting facts, stories to remember, stories to share with friends and family and most importantly, their team is just fantastic! Each guide is extremely knowledgeable, very warm and pleasant person. Happy to visit again and again!
A very exciting and lovely tour by Anastasia. Showed us cool places, with a lot of nice food! :) Very informative and easy-going... can help you a lot with your needs for the weekend! Keep it up!
Last weekend I was in Amsterdam and I went to this excursion that made me I fall in love with this city! My guide Anastasia gave me so much interesting information that the rest of the time in the city I knew exactly what to do. Wonderful, interesting, with love. Thanks you!!!!!!!!!!
