The boat was beautiful and larger than expected. It really can comfortably seat 12 adults. The captain also exceeded expectations. In addition to being extremely nice he narrated the experience with interesting explanations of the art installations we were seeing. I highly recommend.

This was our first activity on our arrival. It was a great way to see the special exhibit and learn a little about Amsterdam. Our tour guide was great and super attentive.

Amazing cruise. The boat was lovely and the captain was knowledgeable, kind and adjusted the tour perfectly for us. We've seen a loft of the interested areas and had great opportunities for photos that the captain pointed out in advance. Highly recommend booking!

The tour itself is amazing, so many things to see and having someone there to personally explain everything is so good. Our captain was so knowledgeable and nice he knew all the information behind the light exhibits and loads of information about Amsterdam and the canals generally. I actually used this trip to propose to my (now) fiancé! It’s such a nice, intimate and romantic evening would recommend to any couples seeking something a little more personal and special.

I cannot recommend this private boat tour enough. The boat is very comfortable and was lovely and warm, so if it’s a cold day you can still enjoy this tour. The owners have thought of everything including installing glass that does not fog up when they restored the boat. There is something magical about being in a small boat at night with a glass of fizz soaking in the beauty of Amsterdam. You can only really appreciate some of the light installations from the water. Our host was charming and extremely knowledgeable on the various light installations and the artist’s inspiration behind each piece. Even if the light show is not on I would come back and do another tour. Booking was easy and the commutations with the owner was extremely responsive and helpful who arranged a different pick up point nearer to our hotel. I spent time choosing a private boat tour and am so pleased I chose this one. It had been one of the highlights of our trip.

We booked this private boat tour (for 2) to see the Amsterdam Lights Festival – we had the best time, ever! Knowing that we were running late (through no fault of our own, as we didn’t know that Uber would turn down ride requests in Amsterdam!), Carl sent me a message giving us clear directions on where to find him and his boat, so we panicked a lot less when we finally arrived at the pier. He is a gentleman with helping us on and off the boat. The boat was very quaint and comfortable, and very well decorated – there were fresh flowers in the middle of the table. He made sure we were nice and warm on a cold December evening (blankets were provided), and he served us warm drinks. During this 90-minute tour, he told us about life in a houseboat, gave us a lot of info into Dutch life and Dutch culture especially in Amsterdam. We laughed a lot as he told us funny stories and as we shared interpretations of the art exhibits of the Festival. He slowed down at the famous art exhibits and landmarks to ensure we got the best pics. We had a lovely tour of all the main canals and the displays for the lights festival, along with giving us interesting facts about everything. I highly recommend booking a private boat tour with this company, as all your needs will be met. I booked directly through their website, and both Carl and Robertino have been very polite, helpful, and responsive.

4 of us went on this private tour. Much more personal than the larger cruises and we were able to depart / return to a much quieter part of the waterfront. Lovely electric boat without any of the fumes or noise of some of the alternative cruises.

My husband and I booked a private tour at last minute to see the light festival on Carl’s beautiful boat. We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed Carl’s commentary on the works of art and immediately felt relaxed and at ease thanks to his friendly and warm personality. The boat is very special - a real beauty oozing with charm and history. We enjoyed a bottle of champagne and cuddled up whilst Carl chatted and laughed with us on our trip. We are looking forward to bringing our friends and family on the boat in the summer later this year. Thank you for a lovely time.

We had a ninety minute tour of the Amsterdam Light Festival with drinks included and had the best time. It was a small corporate event with colleagues visiting from across Europe and Carl was not only extremely knowledgeable on the light festival but was a superb tour guide of the city itself. There was a nice selection of beer, wine and sodas and Carl was extremely personable and very easy to coordinate with. I would highly recommend this tour if you are interested in an event with a more personal touch.

This was a wonderful way to get to know more about Amsterdam and an amazing way to see the light festival. The boat was comfortable and cozy, even as it rained outside. I'd highly recommend.

We toured with Carl for the 90 minute Festival of Lights tour. Carl was excellent, knowledgeable, and very easy to talk with. His boat is beautiful. Will book again when we are back in Amsterdam.

I have done a number of canal trips over the past few years and this was by far the best experience I have had. Carl was friendly, engaging, very knowledgeable and professional. His boat is an amazingly well restored historical vessel that provides an intimate feel. My next canal trip will definitely be back with “the Boat Boys”, I am sold.

When looking for a boat tour, don't look further! The owner is very friendly and knows a lot about Amsterdam.. We did a tour during the Amsterdam Light festival, and it is the only operator that offers private tours for small groups (as far as I know, and I'm a local). The boat can be closed or semi-open and is very cosy. Comfortable pillows and you can buy whines on board. I can highly recommend to book this tour because the boat is very nice and cosy. This was a present for my fathers birthday and he really enjoyed the tour in his Birth-city.

The Udine is a beautiful and intimate saloon boat; it was neatly ready for us at the agreed boarding time. Our captain turned out to be an enthusiastic young man who did not hesitate to join the conversation when asked. He has sailed us around with his knowledge and skills excellently. We use this platform more often and they have never disappointed us. Reliable and correct so definitely recommended!

Excellent choice for a tour of the canals... it's the second time I've relied on Boatboys and I've always had a good time! The canal cruise on the private boat was excellent. The boat is very nicely renovated and the captaincy was very entertaining and informative! I would definitely come back again.

Great private dining tour over the canals made along two restaurants, Heavenly Mud and Casa di David. Delicious meal is handed to you from the quay or straight from the kitchen. Carl is a nice host, the boat looks beautiful (and is electric, nice and quiet), the Canal Restaurant is a nice initiative and may stay as far as we are concerned. We would love to come back again.
